Tale of the pokégear thief

Narrator: On an errand from Professor Oak, we find our friends on there way to New Bark town unaware of what excitement awaits them.

It was mid-afternoon and Taurean and Lan were walking through the forest with Murkrow flying right behind them.

Taurean: I think we're nearly there.

Lan: Great I'm getting a little tired.

Murkrow was slowing down and landed, Taurean goes over to it.

Taurean: I guess you're tired too, here perch on my arm awhile.

(^^)

Murkrow: Murkrow!

Murkrow jumps onto Taurean's left arm latching gently on.

Taurean gets up and they all continue to walk on.

Lan: Taurean if you don't mind my asking, why don't you just put Murkrow in your pokeball to rest.

Taurean: Well they can't stay in there all the time, besides this way I get to know them better.

Lan: That males sense, I think I'll give it a try.

Lan takes out Squirtle's pokeball and brings him out.

Squirtle: Squirtle!

Lan: Come on Squirtle, let's get our feet wet!

So now the four friends walk down the path as there destination draws near, meanwhile in a bush nearby a figured engrossed in shadows was following them. He then took out his communicator and said-

(Into communicator)

Man: Gunner to home base, I repeat Gunner to home base, reporting in

(Over communicator)

Operative: Home base to Gunner, report.

(Into communicator)

Man: The bearers of the schematics on are on route 10 approaching New Bark town, over.

(Over communicator)

Operative: Continue to follow but don't pursue them unless you have to, and when they hand over the schematics, try to create a distraction. Then infiltrate the facility and grab the schematics and report back here, over.

(Into communicator)

Man Roger that, Gunner over and out.

He then slips the communicator in his jacket and takes out his spyglass to see our friends in sight.

(Snickers)

Man: This will be my easiest mission yet, those kids won't know what hit them!

Soon after walking a bit more unaware of the mysterious man following them, our friends finally reach the end of the forest and at the edge of a hill they see New Bark town. The wind touches Taurean's face so warmly and gently, everyone else's as well.

Taurean: You know it does feel like this is a new beginning, and I haven't been traveling long.

Lan: I feel the same way.

Pichu! Said Pichu atop Taurean's back.

Soon after they follow the path down into town and saw right in front of the pokémon lab there was a pokémon that was jumping up and down.

Taurean: I don't believe it, it's a Corsola!

He takes out his pokédex and points it at Corsola, a beeping noise goes off and picture of Corsola appeared on the monitor.

Pokédex: Corsola, the coral pokémon. This plucky pokémon shares traits of water and rock pokémon and the horns on its head are consider as valuable as jewelry.

Taurean: I've never seen a Corsola this far from water before, I'm going to catch it!

Lan: Wait!

Taurean stops as he was about to summon a pokémon to battle it.

Taurean: What's wrong?

Lan: Look.

The two look to see a man in a white coat come out and right up to the Corsola.

Man: Well it looks like you're exercise program is doing wonders for you.

Corsola: Corsola!

Then the two friends walk up to them.

Taurean: Hello there!

Man: Oh hello, is there something I can help you with?

Taurean: I was wondering if this is the pokémon lab.

Man: Why yes it is, I'm Professor Elm. I see you already met my Corsola.

Corsola: Corsola!

Lan: So that Corsola is yours, my friend here thought it was wild. I'm Lan Soran from Viridian City.

Taurean: And I'm Taurean Watashi from Starlit town, I've come on an errand from Professor Oak.

Prof. Elm: Of course, Professor Oak told me you we're here to deliver the pokégear schematics, follow me.

So The group entered inside to a study/office area where Taurean took out the CD and gave to Prof. Elm.

Prof. Elm: Thank you for bringing me this, I'm going to give you a special reward as soon as I finish constructing the new pokégear.

Taurean: Uh professor I was wondering, what is pokégear?

Prof. Elm: Pokégear is a special compact tool that has a cell phone, clock and radio all in one unit. Trainers use it to keep track of there opponents and friends and family.

Lan: It sounds real cool.

Prof. Elm: Well since you came all this way perhaps I can offer you some refreshment.

Taurean: Thanks, we are getting a bit hungry.

(Tummy gurgles)

Pichu: Pichu.

Lan: I'm pretty hungry too.

So they leave for the kitchen to have a snack, meanwhile unbenoanst to the others the mysterious man had followed them in and crawled inside the heating vents. He jumped down from the heating vent from the office study and grabbed the CD left on the table. He then turned on his communicator and reported in.

(Into communicator)

Man: This is gunner reporting in, I've got the disk.

(Over communicator)

Operative: Excellent work!

(Into communicator)

Man: Get me Giovanni!

(Over communicator)

Operative: I'm afraid he was called away on business; can I leave him a message from you?

(Into communicator)

Man: Just tell the mission was a success, I'll be reporting to base soon.

He turns off the communicator and puts it in his secret jacket pocket. He then holds the disk in the air watches glistens in the sun.

(Laughs)

Man: This baby's going fetch me a pretty penny for sure!

It's now time for-

Taurean and Lan: Who's that pokémon?!

Hint: It is mostly found near water or the seashore.

A second later-

Taurean and Lan: It's Corsola!

Corsola: Corsola!

We return to see everyone enjoying some sandwiches and juice, Squirtle, Murkrow and Pichu each had a bowl of pokémon food which they happily gobbled up.

Prof. Elm: So you two are traveling together on you're pokémon journey?

Taurean: Yeah, oddly enough we met a short while ago, he was battling a territorial Eevee and Pichu helped him out.

Lan: I was able to capture it afterwards and soon we became friends. We're trying to figure out where we're going to go. I've been thinking about competing in the next silver conference by collecting the badges out in the Johto region.

Taurean: You know the more I hear about it the more I think I'm going to go for it. Well it's settled, I'm going to compete in the next Johto league!

Lan: Me too! And when we get all the badges and compete the last round will be-

You vs. Me.

Taurean: What a battle that's going to be!

Prof. Elm: Well before you go you best remember to register.

Lan: That's right we better go to the pokémon center.

Taurean: Right, let's go!

So after the pokémon finished eating they rush off to the pokémon center where they found Nurse Joy at the front desk.

Nurse Joy: Hello there what can I do for you?

Taurean: Hello again nurse Joy!

Nurse Joy: Excuse me but have we met, you don't seem familiar.

Taurean: You helped my Murkrow when it was injured back at Professor Oak's lab.

Nurse Joy: Oh you must mean the Joy from Pewter City, my nice.

Taurean: You and you're nice look exactly alike?

Nurse Joy: Well I have stronger cheek bones, anyway would you like me to heal your pokémon?

Taurean: Yes thanks and we both want to register for the Johto league.

Nurse Joy: Certainly.

She then takes there pokéballs and Pichu and gives them to her Chansey assistant and she carts them away. Then they go to a room with a jumbo screen. She then takes there pokédexes and slips them into a machine, after typing a bit she's done and the pokédexes slip out from the slot and she hands them back.

Nurse Joy: There, you both are now registered for the Johto league.

Taurean: Thank you nurse Joy.

Nurse Joy: No problem.

Then Chansey comes in with Pichu and the other pokéballs with the pokémon inside fully healed.

Nurse Joy: Your pokémon are back to full health now, thanks Chansey.

Chansey: Chan, Chansey!

Taurean and Lan take there pokéballs and put them back on there belts, just then the videophone up front starts ringing.

They head back to the lobby and Nurse Joy answers it, it was Professor Elm.

Prof. Elm: Nurse Joy this is an emergency! Where are the boys?

Taurean: Were right here professor, what's the problem?

Prof. Elm: Someone's stolen the pokégear schematics!

Everyone gasps.

Soon after the boys rushed right over to where the CD was stolen.

Officer Jenny was there and found finger and footprints on the table and the floor, and her Arcanine found a piece of cloth caught on the heating vent.

Officer Jenny: So this disk contains schematics for a new pokégear system?

Prof. Elm: Yes Jenny, and I need to start work on them today, it's vital we find the thief.

Officer Jenny: Well do our best professor.

Taurean: Don't worry professor, I'm going to find the thief and get back the schematics.

Pichu: Pichu!

Lan: I'll help too!

Taurean: And I know just where to start, Pichu do you think you could pick up this guy or gal's scent?

He finds another piece of cloth and Pichu gives it a sniff, he then jumps off Taurean's back and runs out the door. The four and the Arcanine follow him to find him pointing at that nearby tree.

Taurean: It's over there?!

(Pointing at a tall tree)

Pichu: Pichu.

Taurean: Okay thief come out and return what you stole!

Then a man came from behind the tree, the same man who had been tailing them. He wore a black vest over a black shirt and matching pants and shoes, and on the middle of the shirt there was a big red R.

Taurean: Who are you!

Man: Ha! You want to know who I am?! Well you asked for it-

Then the "Team rocket theme" plays and he recites-

Man: To protect the world from desolation, to unite all romantics in these great nations. To show the force of real true love, to send our message to the stars above-

Akira!

Team rocket sharing our message day or night, now you're In my way so prepare to fight!

Then his Scyther came out from behind the tree-

Scyther: Scyther!!!

Lan: I know the R symbol there with Team rocket!

Akira: I see you know of us, well then you know a battle is pointless.

Taurean: We'll see!

Pichu: Pichu!

Akira: Just try me!

Taurean: Pichu Thundershock!

Pichu leaped off of Taurean's back and delivered a hard core electrical attack which sends damage to Scyther.

Akira: No Scyther!

Taurean: Now quick attack!

Pichu slips and slides all over the place catching Scyther off guard and delivered another hard core attack.

(Thinking)

Akira: How can this be? How can a pre-evolved pokémon be so strong?

Taurean: Now finish it with sweet kiss!

(Gets heart eyed)

Pichu: Pichu!

He the runs all over chasing Scyther trying to kiss him. He got close when-

Akira: Scyther, block!

Scyther used it's scythe arm to push Pichu back.

Akira: Now swords dance!

Scyther: Scyther!

Scyther spins around and increases it's attack power.

Taurean: Pichu double-edge attack!

Pichu leans his body concentrating everything into the shoulder charging at Scyther.

Akira: Dodge and use fury cutter!

Scyther quickly breaks out of swords dance and dodges Pichu's attack but just barely and comes back hard with a fury cutter.

Pichu: PI!

Lan: This bad, with every hit made during fury cutter the damage to Pichu is doubled!

Taurean: What?!

Pichu then digs into the ground hard and latches onto one of Scyther's scythe arms.

Akira: What?!

Taurean: Oh yeah!

(..)

Scyther: Scy?!

Taurean: Pichu thundershock!

(Charges and directly deleivers to Scyther)

Pichu: Pi-i-i! CHUUUUU!!!!!

Scyther is critically damaged and kneels to the ground.

Pichu backflips away and Scyther is unable to attack.

Akira: I lost?

Lan: You sure did!

Taurean: Great job Pichu! I knew you could do it!

(^^)

Pichu: Pichu!

Then Scyther began to get up and was really peaved.

Scyther: SCY!!!

(Everyone gasped)

Akira: Scyther?

Then Scyther glowed and transformed into a whole new pokémon.

Prof. Elm: Astounding, Scyther evolved into Scizor.

(Pulls out a notepad)

Pro. Elm: I've got the write these findings, I've never seen a poke evolve during a battle in awhile.

Taurean: Scizor?!

He takes out his pokédex and checks it out.

Pokédex: Scizor, the Scissors pokémon. The evolved form of Scyther, this pokémon uses it's camouflaged claws to intimidate it's opponents and can fly and super high speeds.

Akira; Scyther, you evolved to help me win?

Scizor: Scizor!

Akira: This is so great! Now take care of that pre-evolved pest once and for all!

Scizor: Scizor!

Scizor charges at Pichu but Pichu dodges and goes into doubleslap. It hits twice and Scizor uses slash to knock it away. Then it flies high into the air to avoid further attack.

Akira: Ok kid, this ends now, Scizor finish it with metal claw.

Scizor: Scizor!

It comes down at full speed causing Pichu to loose nerve.

Taurean: Pichu!

Taurean then dives in and shields Pichu waiting for it to be over when a stream of fire came from nowhere and Scizor took some heavy damage as it crash landed a few inches away from Taurean. He then got up holding Pichu in his arms to see a Cyndaquil and right behind it was a boy.

Taurean: Who's that?!

Boy: Leave those two be, now try facing me!

Akira: Looks it's an epidemic of overconfidence today Scizor, well let's do the chivalrous thing and oblige.

Scizor: Scizor!

Boy: Flame tackle attack!

Flame: Cyndaaa!

Flame puts all his weight into it and slams right into Scizor. He quickly recovers and countered with false swipe.

Akira: Scizor use metal claw!

Scizor: Scizor!

Scizor's right claw lights up and it hits Cyndaquil causing some damage.

Boy: Cyndaquil Agility!

Flame: Quill!

Cyndaquil moves at very high speeds, Scizor tries numerous scratch attacks but doesn't connect.

Everyone watches in amazement at this very addictive match.

Taurean: He's on fire.

Pichu: Pichu.

Akira: Scizor use metal claw!

Scizor delivers another metal claw assault infecting heavy damage sending Cyndaquil flying to the dirt.

Boy: Come on Flame, get up!

Flame: Quill, Cynda,

Cyndaquil finally works it's way up and get the flames on his back lit intensely.

Boy: Flame wheel!

Cyndaquil engulfed his whole body into flames and charge right Scizor inflicting great damage. Scizor used furry cutter knocking Cyndaquil away doubling the damage until he hit the ground hard.

Boy: Flame.

Lan: That was brutal.

Taurean: Come on, get up!

Pichu: Pichu!

Akira: Now I'll end this as quickly as possible, go swords dance!

Scizor spun round and around increasing his strength while at the same time created a wind strong enough to repel all fire attacks.

Boy: Clever, but not enough to stop us. Flame agility!

Cyndaquil entered great speed as it got closer to the spinning Scizor.

Boy: Jump high above Scizor-

Flame: Cynda!

Cyndaquil jumps high above Scizor and was ready to strike-

Akira: What?! No!

But it was too late

Boy: Point your body straight down and use fire spin!

Cyndaquil let out a mighty screech of fire in a dazzling tornado inflicting heavy damage to Scizor knocking Scizor out.

Akira: Ahh! Scizor no!

Lan: All right!

Taurean: He actually won.

Pichu: Pichu!

Boy: I've won now hand over the disc.

Akira: No way, you may have beaten me but that's all you get from me!

He recalls Scizor to his pokeball and quickly dashes off.

Boy: You're not getting away, go Spark!

He throws a pokeball and a Pikachu pops out.

Spark: Pikachu!

Boy: Say kid-

Taurean turns to the boy.

Boy: Let's stop him together.

Taurean: Okay!

Boy: Spark!

Taurean: Pichu!

Both: Double thundershock!

(Charge and send to Akira)

Spark: Pika-chuu!

Pichu: Piii-chuuu!!!!!

Akira was heavily shocked and there was a great explosion, and the disc in his is caught by Officer Jenny.

Jenny: Here you are professor.

Prof. Elm: Thank you.

Meanwhile above the air-

Akira: That's some power, I'll catch that Pichu and redeem myself.

Akira stages out!!!!!

Then disappears in a twinkling light.

Pichu and Spark were picked up by their owners and praised for a good job. Lan and everybody else giggled softly as they were glad it all worked out.

Soon after back in the lab-

Prof. Elm: I want to thank all of you for getting my disc back.

Taurean: Thanks but all the thanks should go to you, if not for you that Akira guy would've taken the disc.

Boy: Well You wore it down when it was still Scyther so I didn't have to do much.

Lan: So what's your name?

Boy: I'm Jason Peterson, a resident trainer of New Bark town.

He holds out his hand and the two shake-

Taurean: I'm Taurean Watashi of Starlit town.

Lan: And I'm Lan Soran from Viridian City.

Prof. Elm: Jason, is that you? I almost didn't recognize you.

Taurean: You know him professor?

Prof. Elm: Most certainly, it was a year ago yesterday I gave him the Cyndaquil to start his journey.

Jason: Yeah I returned to visit my family before after coming from the Orange islands as I continue my journey through the Johto region. I just registered awhile ago and saw all the action and thought I could help.

Taurean: That's great I'm starting my journey in the Johto region.

Lan: Me too.

Jason: Well then I wish you well, well I'd better get going.

Taurean: Yeah we better go too.

Prof. Elm: Oh please wait a minute, there's something I want to give you.

Soon they head back to the office/study and find some watch-looking things on the desk.

Prof. Elm: This is the new model of the pokégear and I want you to be the first trainers to have them.

Taurean: That's nice of you but I really couldn't.

Prof. Elm: Nonsense if it weren't for you and Jason I would have been able to make them in the first place.

Taurean: Thank you.

So the boys each take one and strap it on.

It was black with a sleek cook design and simplistic controls made it a handy thing to have.

Prof. Elm: Along with the features I told you the original pokégear had, this model has a few new features, it has a built-in hologram monitor for video display, an eternal compass and a detailed map of this and other areas, and a jack to connect to the CD player, VCR, computer and more to play music, download videos and to get the latest upgrades.

Taurean: This all sounds so interesting.

Jason: Yeah, totally.

Soon afterwards they find themselves on a path leading outside New Bark town.

Prof. Elm: Well this path leads to Violet city and the other path leads to Goldenrod city.

Jason: Well I'm on my way to Goldenrod, you guys heading to Violet city?

Taurean: Yeah I'm going for my first badge!

(Hopped aboard his back)

Pichu: Pichu!

Lan: So am I!

Jason: Well good luck to you. Maybe we can battle one day.

Taurean: Yeah, maybe.

So the three part ways in the forks in the road with Prof. Elm waving goodbye.

Prof. Elm: Let me know how the new pokégear works next chance you get, and good luck to you all!

Narrator: So after stopping an elusive thief and making some new friends, Taurean, Pichu and Lan follow the path to Violet city where Taurean and Lan hope to win there very first badge, which will be the first step on qualifying for the Johto league.

Will they succeed find out in our next fun-filled episode.
