Taurean's Aquatic opportunity

Legend of the ninjitsu Totodile!

Narrator: The day continued to be a bright one as our friends are headed for the Violet City gym so Taurean and Lan can compete for there first Johto league badge.

(Walking down the path)

Taurean: Now let's see-

Taurean checks the hologram-map on the pokégear.

We should be in Violet City within 4 days.

Lan: That's good and maybe we could catch a few pokémon on the way!

Taurean: That reminds the gym leader in Violet city uses flying pokémon, and the only pokémon I have that would be the over choice is Pichu.

Pichu: Pichu, Pichu.

Lan: Well you have Murkrow which is both a flying and dark type, that gives you an edge.

Taurean: That's true I guess.

Pichu: Pichu, Pi!

Taurean: Oh I know you could win it all for me if you could but I may have to start catching some more pokémon who could be of help.

Just then something leaped down from the trees. Taurean and Lan looked to see it was a pokémon.

Lan: What pokémon is this?!

Taurean: It's a Totodile!

Totodile: To!

Taurean takes out his pokédex and points it at Totodile-

Pokédex: Totodile, the big jaw pokémon. It's highly developed jaws are so powerful, it can crush practically anything. Trainers beware this pokémon loves to use its teeth.

Taurean: It seems a bit leaner then in the picture in the pokédex.

Lan: Yeah and its upper body is much taught.

Indeed this Totodile seems to be in top form with a leaner and swifter body and shiny white teeth make it quite a catch.

Taurean: Okay Lan stand back, this one's all mine!

Just then Totodile disappeared in a flash and reappeared atop a tree.

Taurean: Ah!

Lan: That's fast!

Totodile then zipped from one tree branch to the other with Taurean and Lan following.

Taurean: So it's speed you want huh?! Pichu chase after it!

Pichu: Pichu!

So Pichu jumped off Taurean's back and onto the nearest tree branch slowly catching up to him. Soon the two in a competition of aped and endurance and Pichu was sprinting quite well.

(From the ground)

Taurean: That's it Pichu find the moment and strike!

They continue to match each in speed atop the trees when Pichu slams into Totodile and the two fall out of the trees and into what looks like a temple area.

Taurean and Lan soon Caught up and were watching quite the battle.

Taurean: Okay Pichu you've worn it down, now thundershock!

(Charges up then fires)

Pichu: Piii-chuuuu!

Totodile dodges and uses bubble, Pichu takes damage from its attack as well as the bubble which hits pretty hard.

Taurean: Pichu.

Then a voice cried-

Voice: Stop please!

Everyone turned to see a girl in karate outfit wearing a Grey belt appeared. The Totodile ran up to the girl and bowed to her. The girl bows back and says-

Girl: That will be all Totodile-san.

Totodile nods and goes over to a stone bench and sits upon it crossing its legs in meditation.

Taurean and Lan as well as Pichu were quite confused as to what just happened and walked up to the girl.

Girl: Please forgive this Totodile if he's caused you any trouble, if you have time have tea with us and I'll explain everything.

Soon after they sit down to tea inside the temple house, all except for Totodile who stayed outside still meditating.

Lan: This is great, thank you for having us.

Girl: Not a problem at all, we don't have company come often. My name's Taena.

Taurean: I'm Taurean, and my friend above is Pichu.

Pichu was enjoying a tea cake from atop his back and waved to Taena.

Lan: I'm Lan, so that's your Totodile?

Taena: Oh it's not mine we're just friends.

Lan: But it was bowing to you, wouldn't it mean it respects you as a trainer,

Taena: Well actually he respects me as a teacher.

Lan and Taurean: You're a teacher?!

Pichu: Pichu?

Meanwhile deep in the forest Akira was on the communicator-

(Over the communicator)

Giovanni: So you got the pokégear schematics?!

(Into communicator)

Akira: Well sir I had them I honestly did but there were these kids-

(Over the communicator)

Giovanni: Enough! Spare me the excuses. Because you've been loyal and have been successful many times before I'll give you another chance. But hear me, if I don't get something from you by the end of the week you're finished! Understood?

(Into communicator)

Akira: Yes sir, crystal, over and out.

Meanwhile back at the temple sitting on there knees at the dining table as they listen to Taena's story.

Taena: So you see Totodile considers me a teacher, because I helped him learn the art of ninjitsu.

We flashback 4 years ago to when Taena was 12 and started teaching herself ninjitsu.

We find her outside the temple practicing her kicks on a wooden pole.

As she kicked the Taena in the present began to narrate-

(Young Taena kicks on the pole)

Present Taena: I decided from when I was very young I wanted to be strong so I dedicated myself to being skilled in the art of ninjitsu. I practiced fiercely, only stopping to eat and sleep and clean myself and always went straight back to training. Because of this I had no friends, at first I felt this was good so I could concentrate completely on my training but as I aged I knew I needed more.

One day while was eating lunch outside the temple, a Totodile came from the bushes and right up to me.

Yong Taena: A Totodile?

Totodile: Totodile!

The Totodile began to mimic what Taena was doing feeling quite curious.

Young Taena: You want to do what I do huh?

She then took out her wooden swords and gives one to Totodile.

Young Taena: Okay follow my lead-

She swished the sword in a U shape then flicked hard in front of her. Totodile was flabbergasted and just swished it around not sure what to do.

Young Taena: No not like that! Here let me help.

She then bends down and holds its arms and guides it through the right movements.

(Guiding his arms)

Young Taena: Let me show you, the swish-

Guides his sword in a U shape-

And flick!

And flicks down in front of them-

Young Taena: Do you get it now?

Totodile nodded and just like magic implemented a perfect drill. Then he started jumping and using more complicated moves like it was playing out a sword duel by himself. He balanced perfectly on rocks executing a trust and parry movement, he then he jumped leaped from tree branch to tree branch until he reached the top of an evergreen tree.

He then jumped doing 4 aerial forward rolls and landed on one foot with the other in the air.

(Clapping)

Young Taena: That's great! You're really good! I'm still a beginner myself but maybe you can help me?

Totodile then went up to her and took her hand nodding "yes" and she smiled back.

The flashback ends with present Taena narrating-

Taena: So ever since that day we've been friends training in the art of ninjitsu. I taught him the basics and got him into it which is why we have a student/teacher relationship outside our friendship but he soon surpassed what I thought him and now I mostly learn from him but through it all we learned from each other.

Lan: That's amazing, I wonder if you could help my Squirtle like that.

Taena: I'm very well sure we can try.

Taurean: Can you help my pokémon too?!

Taena: Sure!

Taurean: Great! And maybe after Totodile and I could battle, just for fun.

Taena: Okay then, let's get started!

Soon after they were outside the temple and were in a wide open space to practice. Lan took out his Squirtle and Taurean brought out Chikorita and Bulbasaur. Of course Pichu was practicing to with a small wooden sword.

Totodile was pacing back and forth inspecting everyone's strengths and weaknesses. He then says something to Pichu and he comes up beside him.

Taena: This is amazing!

Taurean: What is?

Taena: Totodile's letting your Pichu help lead the exercises, he teaches some of the local trainer's pokémon but this is the first time he's let one of them help lead. Your Pichu must really be something special.

Taurean: Well what do you know?

Taena turns on the radio, the music starts and exercise begins. He points at Squirtle and tells him to follow his lead. He did the swish and flick exercise and Pichu beside him and Squirtle up front mimicked it and began to work it perfectly. He then puts his sword down and instructs Chikorita to move the leaf on her head in a rythimc pattern; this would help deliver faster razor leaf attacks.

Totodile then pointed to Bulbasaur and crouches down begins to dig in the dirt in a left-right fashion and Pichu followed right along. This would help with upper and lower body strength.

Soon everyone was doing there own special exercises As Taena got out a target practice sheet and hung on the clothesline.

Totodile fired his water guns on every target hitting a bulls-eye every time. Taena then took that one down and put up another, just as he was about fire again Pichu used his thundershock and channeled it into separate points of light hitting all the target bulls-eyes on the sheet. All the pokémon were impressed as well as Totodile himself who gave him a pat on the back for surpassing the basics of attack targeting.

Taurean: Great job Pichu, everyone.

Lan: Keep it up Squirtle your doing fine.

Taurean: Say why don't we join in?

Lan: Join in?

Taurean: This way we get strong alongside our pokémon.

Taurean grabs some wooden swords and gives one to Lan.

Lan: Well why not? Let's give it a try!

So they exercise alongside the pokémon and Taena began to observe-

(Thinking)

Taena: This boy is determined, could he be the one?

Meanwhile in the bushes nearby Akira had caught up to Taurean and Lan to see there pokémon were training and saw the noticeable talents of Totodile and Pichu.

(Through the binoculars)

Akira: So the rumors in the village were true, this Totodile is extremely powerful, accurate too. He's even teaching that Pichu and those kids some new tricks, then it's settled I'll capture them both and redeem myself to Giovanni.

He watched to see they were now working an obstacle course and Pichu was able to finish first.

(Snickers)

Akira: Yes my cuties you're mine, all mine.

Now it's time for-

Taurean and Lan: Who's that pokémon?!

Hint: Loves to use it's teeth.

After a bit-

Taurean and Lan: It's Totodile!

Totodile: Toto! Totodile!

Soon after that big workout Taena made a snack for everyone, her famous vegetable stew.

(Devours)

Lan: Wow Taena, this is excellent!

Taena: Thanks, I try.

Taurean: This is a good meal; it tastes even better when you work for it.

Pichu had eaten every last morsel in his dish and was very full.

Pichu: Pichu, pi.

Taena: So you two are planning to enter the next silver conference? That's quite the challenge.

Taurean: Yeah but we plan to win big at every gym until we have all the badges necessary to compete.

Lan; We're hoping to face each other in the final round for all the marbles.

Taena: Well if you train as hard as you all did today I don't see how you can't get there.

Taurean: Well my training's not over yet, I still hope to challenge Totodile to a battle.

Taena: Well what do you say?

Totodile nods and agrees to battle, soon after they go to an open field a bit away from the temple.

Taurean chooses Pichu and gets in position; Totodile assumes an offensive position and seems ready for anything. Taena agrees to referee and the match prepares to start.

Taena: This is a sudden death one-on-one match between Pichu and Totodile, is everyone ready.

Taurean: We are!

Pichu: Pi!

Totodile: Dile!

Lan: Be sure to watch closely Squirtle, we could something from this match.

Squirtle: Squirt.

Taena: Let the battle begin!

Taurean: Pichu tackle attack!

Pichu charges toward Totodile as he easily dodges and implements a submission attack causing some damage. Pichu gets right back up and delivers a headbutt to the chest knocking Totodile away.

Taurean: Now use spark attack!

Pichu runs and charges up, when he grabs hold of Totodile's tail he releases a powerful spark of electricity inflicting strong damage. Once again though Pichu took damage from it's attack and gave Totodile the chance to strike.

He uses bubblebeam to knock Pichu high and then leaps up and delivers a Hi jump kick to the chin knocking Pichu down to the ground.

Taurean: Pichu, please get up!

Pichu easily gets up and goes into agility; Totodile uses water gun to propel himself like a rocket to dodge Pichu's assault lands on his hands and implements a low kick sending him on his feet.

Taurean: Don't give up, use sweet kiss!

Pichu then grabs hold of Totodile and gives him a big peck on the cheek making him drowsy.

Taurean: Now toss him high in the air.

Pichu sends Totodile flying high toward a tall tree completely helpless.

Taurean: Now jump and use pound!

Pichu gets up to speed then ricochets of a tree trunk and delivers an ace pound attack.

Taurean: Now thunderpunch!

Pichu turns one of his fists into a ball of electrical power and slams on Totodile sending him hard into the ground below.

Taurean: Now finish this with thundershock!

(Charges up then fires a bolt down below)

Pichu: Piii-chuuuu!

a bolt of lightning hit Totodile causes some real damage but also wears off the effects of Pichu's sweet kiss. Pichu also took some damage from the attack and landed hard on the ground himself.

Totodile quickly got up used his agility to bounce from branch to branch until reached to tip top of the tree.

Pichu slowly got up to see Totodile high above him atop the tree balancing on tip of an evergreen tree.

(In bated breath)

Pichu: Cha, cha.

Taena: There both very exhausted, but this could go either way.

Lan: Come on Pichu, don't give up!

Squirtle: Squirtle!!

Totodile closed his eyes atop the tree balancing perfectly plotting his next move; he sensed Pichu's vitals as well as his current position. He then jumps from the tree and cuts his body up into a ball.

Taena: It's a rollout attack!

Lan: What?!

It was a wheel of spikes that hits Pichu full force knocking him out.

Taurean: Pichu!

Taena: Pichu is unable to- Huh?!

Pichu was extremely weak but got right back with all the breath knocked out of it.

(Thinking)

Taurean: Pichu you tried you're best, but it's over now.

But Pichu wouldn't quit and charged at Totodile for a tackle but easily dodges and engages him hand to hand. Totodile tries to tell Pichu it doesn't have to continue but Pichu says it must prove its strength to everyone, in their language of course.

Pichu then pushes Totodile off and uses thundershock which hits Totodile causing damage but also takes damage himself and kneels t it's feet.

Totodile realizes fighting is the only way to stop Pichu but not wanting to be too rough it races in for a fury swipes attack.

Taurean: Pichu no!!!

Taurean was willing to do anything to stop the battle and jumped onto Pichu to shield him as Totodile before realizing what happened used fury swipes on Taurean's back.

(Both he and Taena gasped)

Lan: Taurean!

Taena runs over to find Totodile weak and battered feeling very guilty as Taurean struggled to get up carrying Pichu in his arms

Taena: Are you ok?!

Taurean: Yeah, we'll be just fine.

Totodile shed a bit of a tear and lowered its head in shame. Taurean bent down to him and said-

Taurean: its okay Totodile, I know you didn't attack me on purpose. You were just doing what you thought was right to help Pichu is all.

Totodile looked up at Taurean very confused.

Taurean: It's just that Pichu wants to prove it has strength because it's so young but it often can't see when there's no point in going on. I hope I can teach Pichu that as long as you and I know your true power it's all that matters. I hope that maybe your great maturity and wisdom will help Pichu see that.

Totodile was flattered and blushed a bit with Taurean smiling back at him. Taena observed everything and thought-

(Thinking)

Taena: I've never met a trainer like him before, willing to anything to protect his pokémon and learn so much from any one battle, could he be-

But before she could finish her thought a large hand appeared from the bushes and grabs Totodile.

Taena: No Totodile!

Then a sinister laugh could be heard and out from the bushes is Akira who has put Totodile in the cage in his hand.

Taurean: Not this guy again.

The "Team rocket theme" plays and he recites-

Akira: To protect the world from desolation, to unite all romantics in these great nations. To show the force of real true love, to send our message to the stars above-

Akira!

Team rocket sharing our message day or night, now you're In my way so prepare to fight!

Scizor comes in and does a battle pose-

Scizor: Scizor!

Taurean: Let Totodile go right this minute!

Akira: Why should I? You gonna shock me again?! I highly doubt your Pichu can handle me now that it's worn down.

Pichu was weak in Taurean's arms but started to build up electrical energy.

Pichu: Cha!

Taurean: Pichu don't!

Pichu jolted out a spark to Akira but it didn't faze him at all and Pichu took damage as well.

Taurean: Pichu.

Akira: HA! I had my very stylish uniform insolated with rubber to conduct you're electric attacks just in case. Now I'll take your Pichu and this Totodile to my boss as a peace offering for the pokégear mishap.

Taurean: You didn't get the pokégear disk and you won't get Pichu, not ever!

He turns to Taena beside him and puts Pichu in her arms.

Taurean: Please look after Pichu; I'll set Totodile free I promise.

There was a silence and then-

Taena: Okay, go get `em!

(Gears and throws)

Taurean: Bulbasaur, Chikorita I choose you!

two pokéballs open and Bulbasaur and Chikorita appear.

Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur!

Chikorita: Chicka!

Akira: A battle huh? Well here goes nothing!

(Gears and throws)

Go Scizor!

Pokeball pops open and Scizor pops out.

Scizor: Scizor!

Akira: Scizor, metal claw!

Scizor charges in as it's claw starts to glow white.

Taurean: Team vine whip!

Bulbasaur and Chikorita use both there vine whips and grabs both his arms and legs.

Taurean: Now double tackle!

They ram in a hard tackle attack knocking Scizor out.

Akira: Come on, get back up!

Scizor regained his footing and returned to an upright position.

Akira: End this with fury cutter!

Scizor got in close-

Taurean: Chikorita dodge and use sweet scent!

Chikorita evades the fury cutter assault and releases a sweet aroma in the air.

Scizor gets drowsy and slows to a stop.

Taurean: Bulbasaur, razor leaf attack!

Bulbasaur: Bulba!

He sends a flow of sharp leaves at Scizor causing some damage.

Taurean: Now, team take down!

They build up speed and thrash him onto the ground knocking him out.

Akira: Ah I don't believe this! Return Scizor.

Akira recalls Scizor and takes out another pokeball.

Akira: I didn't want to have to use this, but you've left me no choice.

I will have that Pichu, Fearow go!!!

A pokeball is thrown and out pops a Fearow soaring high in the sky.

Taena: A Fearow?

Lan: This is not good for Taurean.

Taurean checks his pokédex and gets the down low-

Pokédex: Fearow, the beak pokémon. The evolved form of Spearow. This fearsome pokémon uses it's drill-like beak to protect itself from enemies.

Taurean: Fearow eh? This will be interesting.

Pichu tried to free itself from Taena's arms but was still very weak.

Taena: No Pichu, you can't battle in this condition.

Akira: Well you might as well hand Pichu over to me now; you obviously have no pokémon who can stand up to my Fearow.

Taurean: I don't care, Pichu is my friend and we'll fight to last breath to keep him safe from you, right guys?!

Bulbasaur: Bulba!

Chikorita: Chikori!

(Throws a pokeball)

Lan: I'll help too, go Eevee!

Eevee pops out.

Eevee: Eevee!

Taurean: Alright follow my lead!

Lan: Will do.

Akira: Okay, the pain will now commence. Go Fearow, drill peck!

Fearow: Fear-ow!

It's beak starts spinning in a drill-like movement and takes damage to Eevee. Eevee keeps his footing and dashes for a tackle attack hitting hard on Fearow.

Lan: Way to go Eevee!

Taurean: Bulbasaur, you and Eevee distract Fearow, Chikorita and I will free Totodile.

Bulbasaur: Bulba.

So Bulbasaur goes over to Eevee while Chikorita storms over to Akira.

Taurean: Razor leaf on the cage bars!

(Spins the leaf on it's head and razor leafs fly)

Chikorita: Chicka!

The leaves zip through the cage bars and fall off setting Totodile free.

Akira: Oh-no!

Meanwhile Bulbasaur and Eevee are having a bit of trouble with Fearow:

Akira: You'll pay for that! Fearow, take down attack!

Fearow comes swooping in from high above-

Taurean: Bulbasaur, Chikorita double whirlwind!

Bulbasaur blows a strong wind from it's mouth as Chikorita spins it's leaf really fast and together creates a strong wind slowing Fearow down and knocking him off course.

Lan: Eevee use take down!

Eevee: Eevee!

Eevee leaps up high and delivers a hard slam into Fearow causing it loose control and dive down.

But as it was gearing to pull up Totodile came out nowhere and jumped onto Fearow's back as it took off back into the air.

Fearow didn't notice until Totodile implemented a hard scratch attack on it's head getting it riled. It tried to knock him off but Totodile just moved in time with the rocking to keep his balance, he then emitted a close-range bubblebeam to the head which send him crashing to the ground.

But before it hits the ground Totodile flips forward and over to the others as it hit the ground hard really weakened.

Lan: Okay everyone, team tackle!

Everyone delivers team tackle attack send Fearow flying into Akira hitting the trunk of a tree.

Taurean: Pichu!

Pichu immediately knew what was coming next and leapt from Taena's grip and jump high over Taurean-

Taurean: Pichu, thundershock!

Pichu uses a strong thundershock with Totodile adding to the mix with a water gun, shocking and drenching both Fearow and Akira and ends a massive explosion.

(High above the air)

Akira: I can't believe I've failed again! Well 1 day down, 6 more to go!

(Very weak)

Fearow: Fearow!

Akira: Akira stages out again!

Soars off and disappears into a twinkling white light.

Taurean: We did it!

Pichu came down and Taurean caught him feeling great, all the pokémon felt very proud of themselves.

Totodile came up beside Taena feeling glad to be back together but began to look at Taurean and Pichu with a interested look in his eye.

Soon after they went back to the temple and rested a bit until it was sunset and it was time to be moving on.

Taena: So your on your way to Violet city?

Taurean: Yeah, we're aiming for our first badge.

Lan: Well we better get going; we want to make some ground before nightfall.

As they turn to leave Totodile ran after them very excited.

Taurean: What is it Totodile?

Totodile: Toto!

He points to his belt and Taurean is left wondering, than Pichu climbed down and took out one of Taurean's pokéballs from his bag.

Pichu: Pichu, pi, pi!

Totodile: Totodile, to-to!

Lan: I wonder what there saying?

Taena then comes up and says-

Taena: I'm very much sure Totodile wants to join you on your journey.

Taurean: But why me? We lost the battle.

Taena: Yes but you have great qualities for a upstart trainer, you're trusting and loyal and protective and wise. I must admit many trainers have come in hopes of defeating Totodile in battle, and while many pokémon like Pichu refuse to give up.

You were the only to show Pichu that loosing isn't the end while at the same time giving it your all and believing in your pokémon. In that battle with Akira I could you all really pull together as a team.

I know Totodile wants to become a strong warrior, but he needs to be with a strong team to excel further, plus I can tell he's grown quite fond of you. I'll miss him but I know no matter how far apart we are we'll always be friends.

Taena then reached into her pocket and pulls out a Lure ball.

Taena: My brother gave me this from his trip to Azela town where Kurt the famous pokéball craftsman made this ball for my brother. He gave to me to catch Totodile myself but I decided long ago it'd be up to Totodile and so he has chosen you.

She then bends down to Totodile and says-

Taena: Well Totodile I guess this is it, but don't forget all our training and fun times along side the new ones and you both better watch out as I'll be starting my journey soon so look me up at the silver conference.

Totodile smirks a bit and then stands over in between her and Taurean. Taena then walks up to Taurean and give him the ball.

Taena: I wish you both well.

Taurean: Thank you Taena.

He then throws the pokéball and Totodile goes inside and the light instantly goes off. He runs over and picks up the ball.

Taurean: All right! I've got a Totodile!

Pichu: Pichu!

Soon after the three friends soon leave on the road to Violet city.

Lan: Goodbye Taena!

Taurean: Good luck on your Journey and thanks for Totodile!

Taena: Goodbye Lan, bye Taurean, bye Pichu! Goodbye Totodile watch over Taurean and be happy!

Narrator: So after proving his merit and his love Totodile joins Taurean on his journey. Will this new addition give him an edge on his way to Violet city?

Meanwhile Akira and Fearow land in an open field surrounded by Hitmonlee.

Akira: Please no I don't want to fight!

Fearow: Fearow!

Akira quickly gets ou Fearow and they fly high and far away with the Hitmonlee chasing them.

Akira: Looks like Akira's staging out at the end!

Fearow: Fearow!

It gets small to the upper left hand corner
