Kristy looked at her little computer and saw a tiny picture of the pokémon pop up on the screen, soon followed by the data and the female voice that read it. (A/N: The commas you'll see are meant to be pauses when the computer voice talks! ^.^)

"Gastly. A, gas, pokémon. It, wraps, its, prey, or, enemy, in, its, gas-like, body, and, slowly, weakens, it, when, its, poison, seeps, through, its, skin." Kristy blinked in surprise. Gastlys were known to show up at night! So why was this one out in the day? She closed the little machine and stuffed it in her back pocket.

Kristy looked around the tree again and saw that it was fighting a Bellsprout! She watched in silence and amazement as they both battled. She already had the flower-type pokémon in her `dex and she didn't exactly like the plant types.

"Gaaastly!" Gastly faded from sight and reappeared behind Bellsprout and wrapped itself around it, squeezing with all its might. Kristy had to look away as the walking plant struggled for its life. She heard a soft thud and peeked around the tree again. Bellsprout lay lifeless on the ground and Gastly not too far away.

Kristy gasped and quickly ran over to them both. She checked Bellsprout first. It was dead. Gastly had smothered it to death. She then checked the gas pokémon. It was still breathing, but wasn't looking to good.

"Gast, ly, Gas, tly," It panted. Kristy just didn't have the heart to leave the poor thing by itself. So, she took off her small red jacket and wrapped the helpless creature in it. Then, giving one last glance at the Bellsprout, Kristy took off in the direction of her house.
