Chapter One: A New Life in a New Town
It had been a rough week for Cassia Takashi and her family. They had finished packing and were now on their way from their home in Saffron City to a small, quiet village called Little Root Town. Cassia was not happy; she didn't want to leave her friends behind and move away; but her dad Norman had become the new gym leader of a town near there and needed to move right away.
After helping her folks load the first van, they went on ahead to Little Root while Cassia was the last one to arrive with the last of the furniture and sat in the back of the moving van as it came to a stop. "I'm gonna hate it here. I just know it." Cassia thought bitterly. Cassia slowly made her way out of the van and looked around at Little Root. Soon her mother Della came out to greet her.
"Cassia, we're here honey. It must have been tiring riding with our things in the van. Well this is Little Root Town. How do you like it? It has a quaint feel but it seems to be an easy place to live, don't you think? Let's go inside, the movers pokemon will take care of our things,” her mom said holding the front door open for them both.
"Mom, this place is gonna take some getting used too." she said wearily, "But yeah, its nice."
"See, Cassia isn't it nice in here too?" Her mom said as they entered the house.
"The movers’ pokemon do all the work of moving us in and cleaning up after too. This is so convenient. Cassia your room is upstairs, go check it out dear.” Della said after showing her to her new room.
“Yeah, mom this house is just great but our old one was better and bigger,” Cassia thought bitterly. She went upstairs to her new room. ‘My old room was better too.’ She thought to herself as she looked around.
She set the clock that had been hanging on the wall just to the left of the doorway. As she hung it back in place, she heard her mom coming up stairs.
“Cassia, how do you like your room dear?” her mom asked as she entered the room.
“Fine, just fine.” She mumbled.
“Oh, good. And it looks like everything was put away neatly; they have finished moving everything in downstairs too. Pokemon movers are so convenient.” Her mom said leaving.
She double-checked her desk and room then went downstairs. As she entered the den area, her mom was standing in front of the TV and seemed excited.
“Oh! Cassia, Cassia come quick! Look! It’s the Petalburg Gym, maybe dad will be on.” Cassia glanced at the TV and on the screen was a reporter;
“….We brought you this report live from the Petalburg Gym.” Was all she got to see and was disappointed.
“Oh… it’s over. I think dad was on, but we missed him to bad. Oh yes, one of dads friends lives here in town, Professor Birch is his name. He lives right next door, so you should go over and introduce yourself.” Said Della seating herself on the sofa.
“I will go over tomorrow okay mom? But right now I am tired so I am gonna go to bed. G’night loves you.” Cassia said heading up to her room.
She turned out her light and quickly fell into a deep peaceful sleep. Tomorrow would be another day.
End Ch. 1 What will tomorrow bring for our new heroine?
