Tomorrow I will avenge Fuji-sempai's honor. Ryoma feel a sleep as the smirk on his face widened devilishly.
*Chapter 2*
“Ryoma! Ryoma darling! Its time to get up, your late...RYOMA?!”
Ryoma sat up in bed rubbing his eyes. “Uhn...” He groaned, looking at the clock, he was shocked awake. “Nani?!” Dressing quickly, he grabbed his list and ran down stairs, hurrying into the kitchen. He rushed through breakfast and ran out the door. I have lost too much time...and yet I still have not figured this out. But when I do, I am going to kill him not only for Fuji, but also for causing me so much damn trouble.
Fuji's POV:
Fuji walked into his Math class half hour late, eyes glazed over with lack of sleep, and with no trace of his ever-present smile. Murmurs erupted throughout the classroom as he quietly took his seat. “How pleasant of you to join us Mr. Shuusuke, if you would please wait after class, I will like to have a word with you.”
“Of course sensei.” He responded, placing his book on his desk. The teacher turned back to the board, going back to his lesson for the day. Eiji leaned over to the desk next to him, his face softening with concern. “Is something the matter, Fuji-kun? You don't seem like yourself this morning.”
“I am fine Eiji-kun.” His smiling mask now placed firmly on his face. “I didn't sleep well.” Eiji tilted his head, not comforted by Fuji's words. “You may be sick, maybe you should go to the nurse.”
“No, no I am fine. Go back to your work” As Eiji did as he was told, while Fuji followed his own advice and turned his attention to the teacher at the front of the class.
Ryoma's POV:
Ryoma was having just about the same amount of luck with his lessons and teachers as Fuji unfortunately was. “Mr. Echizen, would you care to join the class or should we schedule our lessons around you're ever pressing business.”
“No sensei, the schools' scheduling is tolerable.” He places his list in his desk. “I am finished anyways.” The teacher glared down at Ryoma annoyed by the youth's arrogance, but let it slide. Ryoma tried to pay attention to his lessons, but found it difficult.
It would seem that the culprit is Tezuka.
*Flash Back*
Ryoma walked out of the lunchroom and up to the stairs to the school roof seeking his sanctuary, when he hard voices on the other side of the door, leading to the roof. “Fuji I am sorry if my words hurt you. But the team has to be more important then you or I. I will not jeopardize them.” Tezuka spoke softly but his voice was still harsh. “But I also can not have one of my best players upset and throwing off his game either. You will need to get a hold of your self and soon, or everyone will start worrying about you and asking questions, and you wouldn't want to them to find out too much, would you?” Fuji understood perfectly what Tezuka's position was, but he still could not help being hurt. His smiling face slowly left revealing cold eyes to Tezuka.
Fuji's POV:
Tezuka is choosing the team over me. A damn sports team! What does the team have to do with us, anyways…this is between us not the team. Fine! If he wants to hide behind his captain title then let him, but he will soon learn that he cannot hide there forever. “If that is your decision then so be it, there is little I can do to change your mind I like you will not let my emotions affect my playing skills, as for the team asking questions, let them asks. It will only make you face the truth. Now please excuse me, I have another class to get to before practice.” Fuji dismissed Tezuka with a quick nod leaving through the door, back into the school. Tezuka blinked. He did not not just dismiss me…note to self, make Fuji do 20 laps at the start of practice. Ryoma quick moved into a shadowy corner, as Fuji walked through the door way and past him. So it was Tezuka that hurt Fuji and he only did it because of a mislead need to protect the team…baka…he is going to pay for that mistake.
*End of Flash Back*
Yes, he will pay but how? This needs to be handled careful or things could easily blow up in my face. “Ryoma-kun?” But what though? “Ryoma-kun?” Perhaps a match, I could beat Tezuka…but how would that help Fuji? “Ryoma-kun!!” Ryoma was pulled out of his daze at the sound of his name being shouted. “Hai?” He asked gruffly, a little annoyed that someone interrupted his thoughts. “What are you doing in here alone, Ryoma-kun? It would seem that your class has already ended.” Asked Fuji looking down and smiling kindly at him. “I was thinking on how I could show Tezuka-sempai the error of his ways.” Ryoma stated plainly gathering his belongings from his desk.
Fuji's smiling face completely fall and was quickly replaced by shock. He blinked at Ryoma trying to comprehend his meaning. Tezuka… error…does he mean? “Ryoma, what error has Tezuka-kun made?” He asked kindly, placing his smiling mask back into place. Ryoma raised his eyes up to Fuji, challenging him to deny the truth. “It was Tezuka-sempai that dismissed your feeling for the better of the team, was it not?” Did he somehow over hear my conversation with Tezuka's? This is not good! “Yes he did but it is nothing for you to go to any trouble for, Ryoma-kun.” Fuji laid a kind hand on Ryoma's shoulder, smiling down at him. “I appreciate your concern but I am more the capable of dealing with him myself, as you should very well know. Please leave it be, and let it work itself out.” Ryoma considered his words for a moment, and then he raised an eyebrow at Fuji. “I didn't see you as someone who would allow another person to humiliate you in such a way. If you don't want my help then I will not give it, but hear me when I say this, two wrongs do not make a right, but an eye for an eye brings it full circle.” Ryoma removed himself from out of Fuji's touch and moved to leave when he stopped he kept his back to Fuji.
“Don't waste your time chasing him Fuji-sempai. He is not the only person in this world you can care for. There are others if you would just look for them. “Fuji was a little taken aback by Ryoma's words. “R-Ryoma-kun?” Fuji whispered softly. How sweet. I would never would have guessed that he cared that much for me…maybe he is right. If Tezuka does not want me, then maybe. “See you at practice, Fuji-sempai.” Ryoma stated walking out the classroom door. “Wait Ryoma-kun, I will walk with you, if you don't mind.” Said Fuji, smiling brightly. Ryoma turned to Fuji, blinking at him. “Kun?”
“Yes that is how you refer to someone close to you.” Fuji bent down close to Ryoma's ear saying softly. “Or maybe you would prefer koi.” Ryoma's cheeks blushed at the way Fuji said koi. What is he trying to do? Why am I reacting this way? Moreover, why do I like the idea of him referring to me in such away? Maybe I…no I will not think that. He like's Tezuka not me. For the first time of meeting the Regulars, Ryoma felt jealously toward one of them. “Do not play with me, Fuji-sempai. I like you do not appreciate it.” Fuji face became serious. “I would not play with you Ryoma-san.” A seductive smirk found its way onto Fuji's face. “At least not in the meaning you are referring to.” Ryoma eyes widen. “Nani?” His voice shivered. Fuji laughed, grabbing Ryoma's wrist, smiling kindly. “You now Ryoma-san your cute when your confused. Come on, well talk about it later. Were going to be late for practice.” Both of them ran off rushing to get to the Tennis courts, Fuji's hand still held Ryoma's wrist.
