CHAPTER 2: RUNAWAY

Alice had to keep hold of her sanity, it wasn't easy, slowly slipping away from her like butter on a hot piece of bread. "I...killed them all..I killed them all.." she slid down the wall in the coffe shop to the floor, rocking back and forth with her knees to her chin. "Get up" a womans voice was heard in the distance. Alice glanced over to see who it was, she had her gun behind her back in her left hand. "Who?" Alice couldn't make out the rest of the sentence, had she totally lost it? No! she must get herself back together! "Who are you?" she finished. The womans shadow leapt over to the other wall and she stepped into the light. It was Rain.

"How..? Wha? Rain!" Alice stood up letting the gun fly out of her hand, she ran and embraced her. Rain couldn't resist, she hugged her back. "You died.. " Alice's eyes filled with tears. Was this a dream? Could she have just hit her head on her way out of the hospital? Had she remembered that she walked out alive? Yes, she had to. She was still concious. But this wasn't possible, If Rain was indeed still alive, how could she have gotten out of the sealed Hive? That was impossible.. but then again, so was bringing the dead back to life. And that had already happened. Alice decided to take her chances.

"I did" Rain sighed and looked to the ground backing away slowly up against a wall, and folded her arms like some pissed off teenager. Alice felt more pity on herself then ever before. Who the hell cared how she got back to life? She was here, and she wasn't one of them. But Alice couldn't accept this. The truth loomed over her like a knife to its innocent victim.. but she had no choice.. she had to give in. Face the facts, do what she had to do. "How did you get out of there?" Alice's body shook a little until she lost her balance and callapsed to the floor. Rain quickly ran over to help her up, but Alice had passed out. "Little miss fainty..." Rain lugged her by the arms out of the coffee house and into a safer building.

"Wake up princess" Rain teased, waving a broken whiskey bottle in her face. How could Alice forget the aroma? The terrible smell of whiskey, she felt as if she were going to vomit.

BACK AT THE LAB:

"Where did she go?!" Jesse yelled frantically. "Up there" a man pointed to the metal plated ceiling, it had been ripped off the bolts. "She can't.. thats impossible" one of the men took a step closer to the opening. "Indeed its not" Ella's voice echoed through the place, the power had just shot out. "We have to get out of here" Jesse sighed. "Don't you think I know that?!" Glassenberg yelled. "Calm yourself, we have time" Ella sat down un-lady-like and typed into her laptop.

"When did you become Bill Gates?" Jesse teased. "When you applied for your call girl job" Ella smirked. "Oh, thats not funny!" Jesse walked off, with the clicking of her stompy heels. "Oh god.. I was kidding" Ella moaned. "Now now, patients" Glassenberg smiled evily. "Patients for what!?" Ella looked up at him with annoyance. "Nothing.. nevermind" he walked off into the darkness of another long hallway. "Yeah., whatever" Ella growled, still typing away violently on the little keys.

BACK IN RACCON:

"We..need.. to... get ... out of here" Alice panted. "I noticed" Rain sighed. "This is hopeless" Alice kicked a brick wall stupidly, only to relive the pain that swelled through her left knee. "Smart.. real smart" Rain snickered.

*Yeah, its short. Hmm.. Ella seems a little like Rainy eh?, yes yes I know I should of explained how the hell she got out of the lab, but thats what the imagination is there for, think of your own ways, REVIEW!*
