The headmaster just smiled as he lovingly pat her head. "I'm certain that this won't be as bad as either of you are making it out to be." Looking at both of them, his smile fell. "My decision is final."

"You've got to be joking," Jun muttered.

Anna brought her hand to her forehead and started muttering curse words in different languages. She was lightly tapping her foot on the floor and trying to think of anything to get herself out of this. Finally she grabbed her bag and walked out of the office with Jun. She turned to him.

"I'm going to try and dumb this down for you a little ok, rich boy?" she started. "When others are looking, smile and pretend that you are learning something, in return I won't talk to you, acknowledge you or even pretend that I know you, ok? That way you can keep your smug little attitude and your emo look on life and I can somewhat get through this semester without committing suicide. I don't like you and you don't like me, let's keep it that way," she said. Turning from him she started back to class while once again saying curse words in multiple languages.

As soon as she got through with her little rant Jun burst out into laughter. She was the one talking about how hard her life was and about suicide and yet she called him Emo? Shaking his head, he realized that this girl wasn't nearly as smart as the headmaster made her out to be. "You Americans are all the same," he muttered. Turning back, he didn't bother to head the headmaster's warning. History was boring. He was going to kendo.

And so the day went on. After her finally class, which was gym, she changed back into her school uniform just as her phone beeped. She opened it. It was Brandon. Hesitating, she deleted it without reading the text. She closed her phone and started to her house. This time, she brought a map. Smiling, she brushed off the text from Brandon and started walking to home.

Jun put away his kendo gear and started outside. No sooner had he stepped out then he heard someone call to him. Looking to his right, he noticed some of the local hooligans so to speak. Rolling his eyes he started to his car.

"Hey! Jun, we're talking to you," the first one said. His voice was annoying. "You put two of our guys in the hospital. You didn't think we were going to let you get away with that."

Jun sighed. "They weren't worth my time. Neither are you. Leave and I'll let it pass."

"Oh, we ain't leaving."

"Jun! Behind you!" Reisha was just coming out when she saw the scene unfold. Everyone wanted a piece of Jun. Either because of who his father was or because of Jun's general attitude toward everyone. He was a target that no one seemed to mind messing with.

Dropping his bag, he found himself grabbed from behind by some of the thugs. This was just getting annoying. Throwing his head back, he broke the nose of the guy who was holding him. From there he easily broke out of his grip, and upon taking his arm he threw him to the ground. What was that American song? Something about people kung-fu fighting?

Shaking his head, the others came out for him. The first two didn't even land a blow before he had them on the ground. They were scum. The final one came, but he didn't do anything either. This time due to the headmaster's involvement.

"Jun! This is the last straw!" the headmaster said as he came out of the building. Already the thugs were scurrying away with their tails between their legs. "You're fighting again? What have I told you about that?"

"But he didn't-"

The headmaster held out his hand. "It doesn't matter. I'm going to have to talk to your father about this, Jun. Your special privileges are gone."

Jun just picked up his bag. "Sure they are." Starting to his car, it was only then that he noticed the blond girl. She'd been staring. "Welcome to Japan," he muttered, wiping the dust off his clothes as he threw his stuff in his car.

Anna groaned. He was such a spotlight kind of person. He liked being the center of attention. She glanced around. All the girls were fawning over him and all the guys looked at him with such honor. She shook her head. There was always the popular rich person who got special treatment and thought they were better. Jun was no different, just worse. Her phone beeped. She ignored it. Then it rang. She ignored it. Again it rang and she finally picked it up.

"Leave me alone..." she said.

"Look, I didn't send that text to you, it was someone playing a joke. I don't want to break up and I'm not cheating on you."

"How did you get my new number?" Anna thought a moment. "Gabby gave it to you didn't she?"

"I wouldn't hurt you like that. Just give me a chance to-"

"I got the pictures, you jerk! You're a cheating good for nothing ass hole Brandon!" she screamed. "Don't call, don't write, and leave me the hell alone! Go to hell!" She hung up the phone.

Pushing down her tears once more, she shrugged her bag on her shoulder and started walking again. Her phone beeped.

As Jun climbed into his car, Reisha ran over to him. Already he was starting to peel away, leaving her in the dust. Pulling her bag close to her, she noticed the girl from before. She looked upset again. "Hey," she said, trying to be polite. "You okay?"

Anna froze. Turning around, she forced a smile. "Yeah, just fine," she said. "By the way, I'm Anna. We have the same classes, right?"

Reisha smiled and moved a piece of hair behind her ear. "Yeah, we do. I'm Reisha." She looked at this girl for a moment. Her name was so odd. "I hope that Jun didn't give you much trouble when you went to the headmaster's office. He can come off as a little...well, rude and mean most of the time."

Anna huffed. "I'm his new babysitter..." she groaned. "Somehow I got drug into it because the headmaster is a family friend. He's like an uncle to me. I don't know why he thinks I can help Jun." She turned back around after looking at her watch. "It's a pleasure to meet you, but I have to hurry. My parents wanted me home straight after school. I'll see you around!" she called with a wave and started to run home.

Reisha was confused by what Anna meant. "New babysitter?" She mused over this for awhile. Finally she just decided that she'd ask her tomorrow during class.

Jun had been at home for a little while. He was preparing himself some dinner when he heard the door open and slam. Looking out from the kitchen, he was curious who it was until he heard his father's voice.

"Jun! Your headmaster called me today."

Anna walked in the door with a smile. Her father only made it bigger when he instantly wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly. "Anna Bo Bana!" She hated that nickname. "I have wonderful news." She looked at her mother who was nearly in tears with the news.

"What news?" Anna said as he set her to her feet and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"I've just got a huge contract today!" Her father was an upcoming architect. His building were very modern and very unique. He was just making a name for himself before moving to Japan. "It seems that a major business man has followed my work. He says he even knows the very first building I ever did back in the states. He called me personally to tell me that he had hoped I would one day make my way here to build. He wants to be the first man in Japan to have a Mike Green original. He even offered me four times as much as what I normally go for!"

Anna screamed for joy. "Oh my God! This is amazing! I'm so happy for you!"

"This one contact will pay for your college to anywhere around the world and we will have enough to put you back into dance just like you use to be in, Anna," her mother said.

"Oh, don't worry about all that! It's more important that Dad's name was known all the way in Japan before we even got here!" she said jumping up and down.

"We are going to have dinner at his place tomorrow night. He insisted we bring our lovely daughter," her father said. Anna smiled. "He was so polite on the phone. And he even speaks English! Of course, considering we will be in his home, we will speak Japanese, so I need to brush up a bit before tomorrow." Anna watched at he paced. "Mr. Higarashi would love it if you wore something modern, Anna."

Anna froze. "Higarashi...."

Jun promised for the hundredth time that he would do better. That he wouldn't be such a screw up. Finally his father relented. Spitting out blood in the sink, he poured himself a glass of water and rinsed his mouth out.

His father was wiping his hands before looking over at his son. "I will be back tomorrow night. We're having guests."

"More of your business friends?" Jun asked. He didn't dare meet his father's gaze as he started back fixing himself some sushi. After he had been dealt with his father went back to being in a good mood. He didn't want to spoil it.

"A potential client. He's an American architect who has unique designs. I'm hoping to have him build something for my new expansion to show how our industry is growing. It will be great for business."

"An American?" Jun looked up. No, there was no way that he could have that much bad luck in one day.

Anna sat in class and tapped her pencil on her notebook. It was almost lunch time which meant that the school day was half over. Reisha had met her that morning and they had talked on and on in between classes. Reisha wanted to know everything about America which Anna found a little funny. She promised Reisha she would bring some American foods to school the next day so Reisha could try them. In return, Reisha promise to help her learn the area better so she wouldn't have to keep getting lost. Anna glanced at Jun. Maybe it wasn't his father she was going to see tonight. Maybe it was just a coincidence that they shared the last name and that he the man her father was going to be building for happen to have a son that was her age...and went to her school...maybe it was just coincidence. Or maybe she was just that unlucky. She looked out the window. Someone shoot her...she prayed.

Jun tried his best to be good today. He had known that school was boring, but when you were actually forced to stay it was nearly unbearable. How did these guys put up with it. He was thankful when the school day finally ended. He had been avoiding everyone like the plague, namely because Reisha was already suspicious about his fat lip and the bruise on his face. He told that he'd gotten them in the fight, but she hadn't believed him.

As he was getting ready to go, he heard Reisha talking to the American.

"Hey, if you're not busy, you want to go to the bento box with me and some friends?"

Leave it to Reisha to befriend the new kid.

Anna smiled. "I wish I could. I really do, but my parents have this dinner with an important family and I was asked to come," she said. She moved in to Reisha. "I know you seem to be friends with Jun. And I know it's not my place, but I had a friend once...her mother use to...hit her..." She glanced at Jun then back at Reisha.

Reisha looked at Jun who was staring at her, and then quickly smiled at Anna. "I'm not sure what you mean?" Jun had never out right told her anything; but she knew that Jun preferred his image to be untarnished. Sometimes being silent was harder then telling the truth. Time to change the subject. "So, your dad has already found a contract?"

Jun looked back and grabbed his stuff. She had dinner plans. What a coincidence. So did he. He took his time getting everything he needed, he wanted to listen in more to see what he could find out.

Anna's heart stopped. She looked down. Even though Reisha didn't say it, it was obvious. Jun was a victim. Somehow, that made her feel guilty. "Yeah, it's really important. He's getting paid a lot of money and it will help us out a lot." She smiled. "I should go. I have to look nice. My father wants to leave a good impression."

She waved and started to home. She hugged her bag to her. "Jun..." she whispered. Even if she wanted to...what could she do to save him?
