"Ah, well in that case he's just a loser." Jun shrugged. He found it kind of funny that he was calling someone else a loser. His own cell phone began to beep as he got a text. Pulling it out, he rolled his eyes when he saw that it was from Reisha. He quickly text her back, letting her know that unfortunately the events were still going on.
"Can you just give me a second?" she asked him and he nodded. She opened her phone and put it to her ear. "I told you not to call."
"You won't answer my emails or my texts..."
"Because I want you to leave me alone!" she snapped.
"I made a mistake, Anna. People make mistakes."
"Oh, so now you are actually admitting that you cheated," Anna said rolling her eyes.
"It didn't mean anything. It was just sex."
Anna froze. "You had sex with her!? You really are an ass!"
"Anna, don't be that way! I know you love me!"
"I found someone else, Brandon. And he's better than you." Anna fisted her dress. She was trying so hard not to cry.
"You are lying. You wouldn't just be over me like that. I know you, Anna."
"You don't know anything."
"As soon as you send proof that you are with someone else, I'll stop calling. Until then, I'll call everyday, every hour, every minute if I have to! Eventually you will give in. You always do."
"Go fuck yourself!" She snapped her phone shut.
Jun ran a hand through his hair. He wasn't certain what they'd just said, but he did hear a few choice words. Enough to let him know that her ex was indeed a loser. "He's not worth getting upset over," he told her while pretending not to care that she was so upset. It wasn't any of his business.
"I'm not upset," she said. "I'm pissed. Really pissed."
"Last time I checked, pissed and upset were the same thing." Looking back at her, he wondered why he was still out here. He should have just gone back inside and let her lick her wounds in silence. It probably would've been worth his father's lecture if it meant avoiding this awkward moment.
He wanted to ask what had happened, at the very least so they could avoid this awkward silence. That was just tactless, and if it made her upset and her parents found it...he shuddered to think of the results.
Anna shrugged then smiled. "It's just my luck really. He's the second guy to cheat on me. Only I really did love him. I even slept with him...he was my first. Now look at me. I'm so stupid sometimes." She laughed lightly. Slowly she turned to him. "I'm sure you have better things to do then stand there looking at me. Don't worry. I won't tell anyone if you decide to go to your room. I know what it's like to want to be alone sometimes," she said smiling.
Jun's cheeks turned a light shade of red. Why did she have to tell him about this? He didn't care that this guy was her first! He didn't want to know that! "Yeah, well, guys can be jerks sometimes." When she offered for him to go back to his room without penalty, he was actually rather relieved."Right, I can be studying," he said with a sour lie.
She laughed. "Right, better get to that," she said.
"I don't understand how you can put up with all that. I wanted to sleep all through school today."
He was still here. Odd. "Yeah, well, I manage."
Jun nodded. Sure she did. She was a brainiac. Checking his phone, he read Reisha's latest message. It was getting rather late. "Well...I'd better go finish cleaning up. I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school."
"Yep," she said and smiled. She watched him walk back to the house and she sat back on the bench. Once again, her phone vibrated. She wanted to scream.
The next morning, his father left bright and early. Eating left over sushi, Jun downed it as he got in his car and drove to school. Sitting in the parking lot, he pulled out her cream and rubbed it on his face as she had showed him to. Once he was done, he put the stuff in his bag and went to class.
For the first time ever, Anna was sleeping in class. Brandon called all night long and by the time she thought to turn the phone off, it was after two. She tried to keep her eyes open, really she did, but all the stuff that they were doing, she already knew so it was boring her. Before long, she was sleeping.
Mr. Moto slammed a ruler on Anna's desk. "It seems that Mr. Higarashi has been rubbing off on you." He slammed his ruler onto Jun's desk to wake him up as well. "Just what were you two doing last night?"
The entire class began to snicker, but one look from Jun made them fall silent.
Anna's head shot up. "Stop calling me!" she screamed. Suddenly she looked around. Everyone was staring. She placed her hand over her face. "Why does my life suck so bad?"
Reisha's hand shot up. "Mr. Moto, is okay if I take Anna to the nurse. She doesn't look so well."
Mr. Moto sighed. "Yes, at least then we won't have any more outbursts."
Reisha quickly grabbed Anna's hand and led her out to the hallways. "You okay? You look terrible."
Anna laughed lightly. "Yeah...long night. I can't believe I fell asleep in class." She smiled. "Thanks for the rescue. I owe you one."
"No problem," Reisha smiled. "I wanted to get out of Mr. Moto's class too so it works!" She laughed and nodded for Anna to follow her down the halls out toward the garden area where the students sometimes went to eat lunch. "We won't have to be back until history starts, because Mr. Moto won't bother to ask about us." She stopped and smiled. "Sometimes it pays to have a delinquent as a friend."
Anna nodded. Her phone vibrated. "God..." She pulled it out. "He just won't stop calling me." She had told Reisha all about Brandon and her so she knew how Anna was talking about.
"I thought you told him not to call. Why is he still bugging you? Doesn't he know its over?"
"Yeah, I told him, but he said he would keep calling until I took him back or sent him proof that I found someone else," Anna groaned. "I hate him so much."
Reisha got an evil smirk on her face. "Ask Jun," she told her. "He owes me a favor, so I'm certain he'd be willing to take a pic or something so he'll leave you alone."
Anna gasped and suddenly felt very uncomfortable. "You have to be joking! He would never...I would never...WE WOULD NEVER!"
Reisha laughed. "It's not like you'd be making out. Just take a picture of him kissing your cheek. That ought to be enough to make Brandon be quiet."
"In the states, it doesn't mean much to have a guy kiss you on the cheek," she said.
Reisha's smile only grew. "Well, then let him kiss you on the lips. Either that, or wait until you find someone else and let Brandon keep bothering you."
"Like I said," Anna said with a smirk, "WE would never."
Reisha just shrugged at this. "Well then, I'd suggest blocking his number so you can get some sleep then. Cause that boy seems relentless."
"Wish I could. This stupid phone doesn't have the option," she said. Her mind wondered back to kissing Jun. Kissing Jun...her kissing Jun....Jun kissing her...June and Anna sitting in a tree.... Anna shook her head.
Reisha got up and stretched. "Well, we'd best get back to class." Looking down at Anna, she smirked. "You're blushing."
Anna brought her hand to her cheek. "Don't tell Jun!" she nearly shouted as she stood. She covered her mouth. Think before you speak, Anna!
Reisha's eyes widened before she burst out in laughter. "You were thinking about kissing Jun!" She couldn't believe it. Laughing she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Wow, you just joined the rest of the female population at the school."
"I have not!" she said. "I was just thinking that if we did...well...it would only be for Brandon and nothing more. But...Rei....I've only ever kissed Brandon."
Reisha smiled. "Don't worry, I won't tell Jun." She paused before adding. "And little Jun-chan has never had a girlfriend, though he'd kill me if I told you that. He rather enjoys his whole bad boy womanizer persona."
"Womanizer? Whatever..." Anna groaned. Once back in class, Anna did her best to stay awake. It was hard, however, and the constant buzzing in her pocket was driving her nuts.
Halfway through the class day, Jun was done with this. This was driving him crazy. Getting up, he grabbed his books and nodded to the teacher. "I'm done," he said.
"You can't just leave, Jun," the teacher said.
"Yeah, well I am." He could've even begin to understand what the guy was talking about. What was the point in staying if he wasn't going to learn anything anyways.
Anna stood. "I'll teach you," she said. People were looking at her. "If you want to learn, I'll help you. I was told to anyways. That is if you don't think you are too cool to learn."
The entire class was silent. Jun's hand was on the door. What the hell was she doing? Looking back at her, he saw that she was being honest. Reisha was looking between the two, a small smile on her lips. That smile quickly faded when she saw Jun's face harden.
"I understand it just fine," he told her. "I just find it extremely boring." He wasn't going to let anyone else know that he had a hard time understanding this.
Reisha's sighed. Anna had been trying to be nice, and like a fool he'd let his damnable pride get in the way.
Before Anna could say anything else which might embarrass him, he quickly left. Already he could hear the murmurs from the kids as the door began to shut.
"Seems mister big shot's an idiot," one of the guy's laughed.
"That's enough," the teacher said trying to regain control of his class.
Anna grabbed her books and followed after him. In the hallway, she threw one of the books at him, hitting him in the back. "If you want to be a jerk, then I will treat you like one! Just because you have a little trouble with school work doesn't mean you can keep running from it! Stop being scared and try, Jun!"
Jun hissed as the book hit him. Turning around to face her, he just glared daggers at her. "I'm not afraid of it," he told her. "I just don't see the point in it. I don't understand any of it!"
"Then get off you high horse and try to understand it!" She stomped her foot. "I'm not standing here because I like the view! I'm standing here because I want to help you!"
Jun picked up her book. Walking toward her he handed it to her. "What would you get out of helping me? No one does anything just to be nice."
"Don't be a jerk to me," she said taking her book. Her face softened. "And just try to learn. That's enough, Jun. You don't have anything I want."
Jun was silent. Weighing his options, he decided to take a chance. "Fine," he said after a moment. "But where would we do this?" There was no way that he was going to do this at school.
"Well let's see, we both have a house," she said then rolled her eyes. "Really, Jun. You can't be that slow."
Jun stiffened. "I'm not slow," he muttered. He tried to think of when he father would be back next. "Tomorrow my house will be free."
"Sounds good," she said. "Oh, and I have one condition. No skipping classes or school. If I have to bear it to teach you, then you have to suffer too," she said with a wink. She grabbed his hand a put it back on the door. "Go on, tough guy. Prove to everyone you don't care what they think."
"Can you just give me a second?" she asked him and he nodded. She opened her phone and put it to her ear. "I told you not to call."
"You won't answer my emails or my texts..."
