Jun stopped. Why was he actually bothering with all of this? Looking at Anna, he took a deep breath. The simple fact of the matter was that he did care what they thought. He enjoyed the way they reacted to him...didn't he?
Opening up the door, he went back into the class. His face was hard as stone as he looked at the teacher. "The headmaster is going to expel me if I miss another class," he muttered. Using that as his excuse for going and sitting back down.
Reisha was grinning ear to ear, even as she gave Anna a confused look. What had she done?
"Lies won't make your pride feel any better," she muttered to him as she took her seat.
Jun just rolled his eyes.
Reisha leaned forward and tapped Anna on the shoulder. "What did you do to get him to change his mind?" She stopped. "Did you flash him?"
Anna smiled. "No, I offered to give him head after school," she whispered back and started to do her work again.
Reisha's jaw dropped. Surely she didn't.... She was blushing about kissing him. Leaning back in her seat, she was dying to know what had just happened. God, couldn't this class end any faster?
It wasn't until the end of school that Anna could explain what really happened. As she put her bag on her shoulders and turned her cell off to ignore Brandon, she explained to Reisha what she and Jun had talked about and that they would have their first lesson tomorrow. Tomorrow was Saturday.
"Oh...I forgot to ask him what time I should be there." Anna looked at Reisha. "What is his address? I don't remember the way there."
Reisha still couldn't over the fact that Jun had actually accepted her offer for help. That was so unlike him. "Don't worry, if you want I can swing by and we can go over to his house together."
"Oh, you're coming?" she asked.
Anna almost seemed disappointed by that. Reisha smirked, but shook her head. "No. It's just Jun has something of mine that I've been meaning to get. I can take you there, grab it from him, then leave you two alone...to do whatever it is you're going to do."
"We are going to study, Rei. Don't make it sound naughty."
Reisha laughed. "Just try not to corrupt my poor little Jun-chan, okay?" she winked at Anna before throwing her bag in her car. "You want a ride home?"
"Corrupt him? Me? Please, with the way the girls act I'm sure there is nothing he hasn't done," she said and started getting into Reisha's car.
Reisha giggled. "He likes to pretend, but he doesn't know the first thing about girls. He still blushes when he seems me in a swimsuit and we've known each other since we were in diapers."
"Yeah, I'll admit. It's creepy that he's so liked and hasn't done anything," Anna said with a weird face.
"He has his reasons," she said, getting serious. "His social life mostly consists of me and his father; and when his father's home he doubles as his maid. I once asked him why he never dated, and he just said that he'd never found anyone that was interesting. Most of the girls here like him because of his money and his looks."
"Well where I'm from, a teenage boy rarely goes through high school looking like that and doesn't have sex," Anna said as they neared her house.
Reisha just laughed. "Well you're in Japan now," she said. "We might be a little more...freaky when it comes to stuff like that. But we're high on family honor. So if he were to get caught doing something like that with a girl and his father found out...well, it would look badly upon them and it just wouldn't end well."
"Looks like he's going to wait until marriage then," Anna laughed. She pointed to her house. "That's my place." Reisha pulled in and Anna got out. "See you tomorrow!"
"See ya girl! Just give me a call when you want me to pick you up." She waved and drove off.
Anna walked in her house and turned on her phone. Her mother glared at her. "What?"
"I tried calling you three times! Never turn off your phone again when you are out!"
"I'm sorry. What's so important that you would call for?"
Her mother held up two different kinds of rice. "Which one do you want?"
Anna sighed.
Jun was up early on Saturday. He'd been going through the house straightening everything that he could. His father had another business meeting last night which meant that he didn't get to bed till two. He'd been too tired to clean so now he was trying to straighten up before Anna and Reisha got there. Stifling a yawn, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. Putting more of the cream on his face, he grabbed a soda out and downed it quickly. It was his fourth one in the past thirty minutes. He was running on caffeine and that was about it.
Reisha pulled up to Anna's house. Smoothing her skirt, she ran up to the front door and knocked. "She better not be sleeping," Reisha muttered. She had to pick her up before she called because she'd just found out that she had her own study group later.
Anna rushed to the door while hopping on one foot to get her shoe on. "Rei, I'm running a little late. Long night again," she said. She left Reisha at the door and grabbed her bag then rushed out. "Ok. Let's go."
Once they were in the car, Anna brushed out her tangled hair and put a headband in her hair.
Reisha was shaking her head with a smile while they drove. "So did Brandon keep you up again?"
"Yeah, this time he called the house. My friends must have given him the number though I have no idea why he would pay that much to call overseas. My mom was so pissed. My Dad unplugged the cord from the wall around four," Anna said.
Reisha frowned. "Seriously girl, why don't you let Jun help? If not in that way, in another. He might not be book smart, but he's inherited some of his father's genius when it comes to computers. I'm sure he could block Brandon's number from calling."
"I'm not asking Jun for help. I'm helping him, not the other way around. I told him I didn't want anything from him so I intend to keep my word."
Reisha sighed. "You two are just like each other. So stubborn. Oh well. You might not ask for help, but that doesn't mean that I can't tell him about it." She stuck out her tongue at her as they pulled up to Jun's house.
"Rei, don't tell him," Anna said but she was already out of the car. "Rei!" Anna yelled as she ran after her. "Shut your pie hole!"
Reisha pushed the door open, knowing that Jun wouldn't have it locked. "Jun-chan!" she teased, looking back at Anna. "Anna's ex is making her life miserable. You'll fix it won't you?"
Jun looked down at them from the upstairs railing. "What?"
"Rei!" Anna followed her inside. "Jun is not my body guard or helper! I don't need him to fix something that I can deal with!"
Jun was pulling on a clean shirt as he walked downstairs. "Okay, whoa...what did I miss? What's going on?"Reisha started to speak, but Anna clamped her hand over her mouth.
"You missed nothing because it's not your life, it's mine." She glared at Reisha. "And if you know what's good for you, you'll keep your mouth shut!"
Reisha rolled her eyes, but apparently she didn't have to say anymore.
"So your ex is still harassing you?"
Anna dropped her hands from Reisha's mouth. "You are so going to pay." She turned to Jun. "My problem. I'll deal with it."
Jun frowned. "Well, there's not much I can do about some guy messing with her an ocean away. Why did you think I could help?" He knew that Reisha wanted to tell him, but she kept her mouth shut, even though she had a mischievous grin on her face.
"She's a little nutty today. Too much of my mother's home cooking for lunch yesterday at school," Anna said smiling. "Umm...where is your bathroom?"
Jun gave the two females a very confused look. Pointing toward the hallway near the kitchen. "First door on the right."
"Thanks," Anna said and went to the bathroom. She pulled out her phone which was vibrating. She wanted to turn it off but she promised her mother she wouldn't. Sending a text to Brandon, she begged him to leave her alone for at least a few hours. He refused.
As soon as Anna shut the bathroom door Reisha told Jun what was going on. Jun's eyes widened, and his scowl increased. "I won't do anything unless she wants me to," he told her. "But that guy is a jerk for harassing her like this."
"Aww, you're so cute when you get all defensive like this Jun-chan," Reisha said teasingly.
"I'm not defensive. I'm not cute. And quite calling me Jun-chan!"
Anna walked out a few minutes later and smiled. She grabbed her school bag. "We should get started. I'm hoping to help you with all the subjects today so you won't be so lost next week."
"Good luck!" Reisha said with a wink. In her arms was a large black book. The item which she was picking up from him. "He's hopeless at school...but you kids have fun!" She giggled even as Jun yelled at her to leave.
Anna looked at him. "So, where do we go to work?"
Work. Right. "Uh, we have a more traditional dining room. I figured we could just use that if it's okay with you."
"That's fine," she said and followed him to the room. She set her books down and spread them out. After getting things read, she sat beside him and opened one of the books. Being so close to him, she could see his bruising was nearly all gone. She ran her hand lightly over his cheek. "That cream works wonders. It really helped an old friend out back in the states. I'm glad it's working for you. If you ever need more, I can get it for you."
Once more Jun stiffened when she touched his cheek. "I doubt I'll need anymore. I'll be careful not to pick fights with people," he told her.
Anna sighed and dropped her hand. "Right," she said in a soft voice. "Well, let's start."
They worked hard for hours. Anna helped him with all the subjects and surprisingly, he caught on rather easily. All he needed was for someone to explain it for him more clearly. The only subject he seemed to really have a hard time with was English. Anna couldn't help but laugh when he tried speaking English. He sounded so funny. She wondered if she sounded funny speaking Japanese.
Jun stretched, uttering a soft groan as he pushed the books away from him. "My head hurts and I'm hungry," he muttered. Looking over at her, he gave her a tired smirk. "I'm going to fix some food, would you like some?"
Anna looked at her watch. It was late in the afternoon, a few hours before dinner. "Maybe I should leave. I don't want your dad to come home and get mad if he finds out I've been here with you all alone all day. Rei gave me a speech about Japanese family honor."
"It's no big," Jun told her. "Dad won't be back for another three days."
Anna looked down at her books. "Sounds lonely," she said and stood. "I'll help you make something to eat." She walked with him to the kitchen and left her vibrating phone on the table. "So what do you do here when you are alone?"
Opening up the door, he went back into the class. His face was hard as stone as he looked at the teacher. "The headmaster is going to expel me if I miss another class," he muttered. Using that as his excuse for going and sitting back down.
