Jun nodded. He should've known better. Taking her out right now could put her in danger. "Well then later.... If you want to that is. I'd love to show you around."

"Sounds like fun. Maybe when all this dies down some we can," she said smiling again. "Maybe eve Rei could come."

He smiled. "Be careful. Rei would take you to one of our clothing stores and turn you into her own little dress up doll."

"Could be fun," she laughed. She moved to the couch and sat down.

Jun paused slightly. He was trying to imagine her in one of the gothic Lolita fashions, they were all so popular now. His face turned a bright crimson color as the mental image. Moving beside her, he cleared his throat and turned on the television, hoping to cover up his embarrassment with some mindless entertainment.

Smile smiled at him. "You're all red. Thinking of Rei?" she asked sweetly.

That only made things worse. "Um...no actually. I wasn't." He tried to focus on the television. Hoping that she'd simply let the subject drop.

"Oh?" she said. "What were...or are you thinking about?" It was something...or someone. Was there a girl he liked? Her heart felt heavy.

"N-nothing," he stammered. He mentally cursed himself for allowing his thoughts to betray him like that. "I was just thinking that you wearing some of our clothes would be.... Well, you'd look cute." There. He said it.

Anna looked away. She had to. This was so unfair. Stupid butterflies and stupid heart with their stupid feelings. "Oh..." she whispered. What else could she say. Hey, by the way, Jun, I'm like every girl in our school...I'm crazy about you. Yeah, that sounds great.

"Yeah...." What was he suppose to say? Luckily, he was saved by the doorbell. Hastily moving to it, he opened up the door to see their food. "Ah thank you."

The delivery guy was obviously not too pleased with what he had to go through to get here. Reporters were all over the place, and many of them tried to push their way to the front door. Jun juggled the box of food on his cast while reaching into his pants to grab the guy some money. He quickly handed it to him, letting him keep the rest of it so he could close the door.

Anna got up and grabbed the stuff from him. "You didn't have to pay. My parents left money, Jun," she said in a low voice. Her chest felt tight. Being this close to him and knowing how she felt, it was worse than she really wanted it to be. She sat on the couch and put the food on the coffee table. "Smells good."

"Paying for dinner is the least I could do," he told her. "When I went home I took what money I had. If your parents don't mind me staying here for a little while, I'd like to give them some money to help with the costs." He wasn't just going to stay at their house without doing something.

Sitting down beside her he took out the two tray of food. Handing her one, he took the other. Grabbing the chopsticks, he looked down at the box of food and then to his broken arm, which happened to be his dominant arm. "Um, I think I'm going to grab a fork. Do you need me to get you anything?"

"My parents won't take your money, Jun," she told him. She shifted her chopsticks to her left hand since her right was in capable of doing much of anything other than laying there. She played with them for a bit with a smile. She had never used chopsticks with her left hand, but she took it as a challenge and started to try and eat.

As Jun watched her try to eat with her left hand, he too couldn't pass up the challenge. After all, he was Japanese. What did it say about him if he ate with a fork and American ate with chopsticks? Sitting back down he attempted the whole thing with chopsticks. He wasn't going to eat until he was able to use them. "Well, I'm not going to stay here for free," he told her. "Even if it's just doing chores around the house. I don't want to simply take advantage of your kindness."

"Well, suck it up rich boy," she said smiling as him. "Because that's the way we are." She put her chopsticks together and started stabbing things and began eating. Much easier.

Jun looked over at her, a smile gracing his lips. "You know, you're one of the first people to ever really treat me like a normal person. You didn't avoid me or give into me. Even now, when I have very little to offer you, you still treat me like a normal person." He tried to think of the right words to say. To convey what he was trying to say was harder then he actually thought it would be. "I'm...glad. Despite everything that has occurred. I'm glad that we were forced to be partners that day."

Anna's heart flutter. This was unfair to him. Unfair for her to like him like every other girl. She decided that friends was the best thing to do. He needed a friend and nothing more. As long as she kept things simple, she could avoid feeling any more than she already did and then...there would be no heart break. It was a plan, not a very good one, but one she would try to stick to. "Yeah, that's what friends are for," she said and picked at her food.

Friends. Yes. Just friends. Nothing more. With how messed up his life was, he could barely hold on to friends. Much less anything more. It would be unfair for her if he tried to drag her any further into his messed up world. That would just be selfish on his part. Looking at her, he wondered if he could be selfish, even for just a little bit. "You're very...special to me, Anna. More so then anyone else I've ever known."

Anna smiled but it was small. "That's sweet, Jun. Though I think Rei would be a little jealous that you consider me a more important friend than her." She wanted to bang her head on a wall.

Jun frowned slightly. "Rei is like a sister to me," he told her. "You...are not." How could he put it? Biting his lip, he was wondering if it was worth ruining all of this, just for his selfish desire? His father always told him that nothing ventured was nothing gained; but then he usually beat him. Not exactly the best memory for advice. "You're...special in a different way. A way that Rei could never be."

Anna put her food down. "I don't think I understand," she said. Rei was like a sister and not a friend but Anna was more than Rei was...that was confusing and she was beginning to think he was trying to tell her he was gay.

Jun sighed. Running a hand through his hair. He just shook his head. This was too frustrating. "Never mind." He should have known better then to try to do this. "It's nothing."

"No, it sounds important to you, Jun." She took his food from him and set it next to hers. "You can tell me anything, Jun. In this short week we have be through a lot. I even punched your dad," she said holding up her hand for proof. "So you should feel comfortable enough to tell me what's on your mind."

Jun smirked. If only it were that simple. "It's...not that easy." How could he tell her that he enjoyed her presence more then he should? She'd helped him out in an immeasurable way, and her family was even letting him stay with them. If he told her that, then it could ruin everything.

"Actually it is. First you open your mouth and words come out and then BANG! You've said it," she said smiling. "Go on, Jun. I promise not to laugh or cry or get mad or whatever else you don't want me to do."

Jun shook his head. "You may have been able to get me to do quite a few things; but this is probably something better left unsaid...for both our sakes."

Anna sat back. "Jun, if we are going to be friends, you need to trust me. It's not like I'm going to run away. This is my house, and I told you that you're stuck with me," she said. Hesitating she reached over and grabbed his hand. Friends do that when they need comforting, right? Some holding his hand was ok, right? It wasn't crossing the line.

When she grabbed his hand, he had to look down. This wasn't fair. "I understand that...it's just that. Well, you're very unique Anna. I've never really felt like this about anyone." What was he saying? Why was he saying this? Damn it, his mouth was conspiring against him! "I think I'm starting to like you more than should...."

Anna's head snapped to him. Her breathing picked up. "Like...something more than a friend?" she asked trying hard to hide her hopefulness.

"Yeah," he admitted. "More than a friend.... A lot more."

"Oh thank God!" Anna nearly yelled. She moved over to him and placed a hand gently on his cheek then pushed her lips on his. Being gentle of his bruises, she massaged her lips with his.

Jun's eyes widened as he suddenly found himself kissing her. Was this how all American girls acted to this sort of thing? He had been expecting her to be upset. Instead she seemed rather...relieved. Not that he was complaining at the moment. No, his mind was rather hazy as she massaged his lips with her kiss and her hand cupped his cheek.

Anna pulled back after a few moments. Her face still close to his. Wow. That was...wow. She moved back to her seat and straightened her shirt nervously. "So...want to finish dinner?" Instantly she regretted saying that.

Jun's mind was still rather hazy, so when she asked him that he had to process it for a second. "What...I mean.... Does that mean...." He was really confused about all of this. He went from telling her that he liked her. To her kissing him. Then to talking about dinner. "What does this mean for us?"

Anna looked over at him. "Well...in my country we call this," she said gesturing to him and her, "a couple. As in dating...boyfriend and girlfriend. Kissing and holding hand with the possibility of intimacy." She grabbed her box and started picking at her food again. "That is...if you want it to be. Because a relationship doesn't work with one person." Her lips tingled. If it wasn't for him being so sensitive to touch, she was sure she wouldn't be able to control herself.

Jun thought about that. A couple. He had to chuckle slightly at this. In his darkest days he finally managed to ask out a girl. "I think I would like that," he told her. At least he had one thing to look forward to now.

Anna put the box down once again. "You...just laughed," she said pointing at his face. "I didn't think you could do that."

Jun looked at her curiously for a second. Was she being serious. "Believe it or not, I can show human emotions every once in a while."

Anna smiled. "Good to know, because I don't think dating a doll would be too much fun. It would make sex really odd..." Her voice trailed off and she paled. Instantly she felt like running. "Can you just forget that last part?" she said looking away and blushing bright red.

Jun started chocking on the chicken. His face was a bright red. "Yes! We can forget that," he said quickly.

Anna froze. "Really?" she turned to him. He almost seemed repulsed by the idea of having sex with her. "Don't sound so freaken excited about it!"

Jun looked at her. She was the one who wanted forget it. Why was she suddenly looking so upset? "Okay?" Then it hit him. "I didn't mean.... I mean sex is...it's just... Even though you're very very beautiful." Even thinking about it was turning him red. "Well, what is that expression? We'll cross that bridge when it comes."

Anna suddenly felt completely sick to her stomach. Was he trying to say that sex with her would never happen? Does that mean that their relationship was already in the works to be over? Did he expect her to just be another girl to date then move on from? She was tired of being a stepping stone! When could she be the girl the guy fought to keep or the girl the guy cheated on his girlfriend for or the girl that the guy couldn't live without?! Why did she always have to be 'just another girl?'

Anna stood. "I'm going to get some air," she said and walked to her back yard. The back was fenced in with a privacy fence she the reports would be around.

Jun groaned. What had he gotten himself into? Reaching into his pocket, he grabbed his phone so he could text Reisha. He was confused, and he didn't know the first thing about relationships or females for the most part. He'd spent most of his life trying to avoid them like the plague. Perhaps he should have stuck to that agenda. It seemed to work out fairly well.

After texting Reisha, first he got back three texts of girlish screams, followed by her yelling at him to go talk to her. Great...a lot of help there. Putting the phone back in his pocket, he went out back to where she was. "I'm sorry if I've upset you."

Anna kept her back to him. "I think I just got the wrong idea," she said sadly, but instantly plastered on a fake smile and turned to him. She laughed sweetly. "But that's ok. I understand that this is just a high school fling!" she said sweetly. Her heart was crushing with every word. "I mean, eventually this will end and everything will go back to the way it was!"

High school fling? "Anna, I'm not sure what you've heard around school...but I'm not the kind of person who does something on a whim. I'm not the kind of person who just goes with a girl to fuel his ego." His face softened slightly when he truly looked at her. She was hurt. "I said that I like you. That's more then I've said about anyone before. This isn't...I mean, I didn't want this to be just a fling." Was this how relationships were? Just flings without commitment?

Anna rubbed one of her arms nervously. She wanted to cry. Even punching his father hurt a lot less than this. She would gladly punch him again if it meant erasing this moment. "Does that mean that you do want to have sex with me at some point? That is...if it ever came to that...to love?"

Jun stared at her. That was what this was all about? The fact that he was so squeamish over sex? "Yes," he told her. Still confused by everything. Wasn't it suppose to be the guys who wanted to have sex and the girls who were squeamish? "I want to be with you, and I believe that having...sex, is a part of being in a relationship. At least, that's what always happens on the high school dramas. At some point, when the time is right...I want to." He was trying to lighten the mood...but at the same time he was being serious.

Anna moved forward and wrapped her arms around him, placing her head on his shoulder. "I just don't want to get hurt anymore, Jun. I'm tired of being the girl that only gets to borrow the guy before something prettier or smarter comes along," she whispered. This was stupid. She felt so stupid.

Jun wrapped an arm around the small of her back. He rubbed it slowly while holding her. "I don't want to hurt you," he told her. "And I've never seen anyone prettier than you."

Anna pulled back. "Wow...that was sweet. Really? No one prettier than me?" she asked with a light laugh. She wanted to say more but there was suddenly a lot of flashing. Anna looked around and she could see reporters using ladders to see over the fence. Instantly Anna pulled herself out of Jun's arms. There started asking questions like were Jun and her secret lovers or if Anna was secretly carrying his child. Apparently they got hold of the picture of Anna and Jun's previous picture. Anna pushed Jun inside while yelling, "No comment! Leave us alone!"
