Between Dates Chapter 2
By Destiny Lot
The wheels screeched as the steel cars came to a stop, passengers already disembarking; bags in hand some were greeted by loved ones while others trudged through the doors and into the main building. The blonde scanned the faces hoping to see his trademarked love's blue locks. At last his eyes fell upon him, as he flung a one strap backpack over his head. Once it was secured he shook his head bangs falling back into place, framing his pale face. Seiji watched him as Touma's eyes wandered no doubt looking for him. Smiling Seiji stealthy made his way through the crowd before coming up behind his unsuspecting love. Seiji reached for Touma's shoulder only to have the archer glance at him a knowing smirk on his face.
"I saw you from my window, silly swordsman."
"Only for you, Touma."
For a moment the bustle around them faded until Touma was only thing the swordsman could see.
"I've missed you." It was simple and yet filled with a longing that Seiji's soul couldn't deny.
"I-I missed you too, Seiji." Seiji looked down into the slightly smaller teen's blue eyes. They sparkled with innocence that made his heart melt yet brimmed with a magnetic wisdom that drew him closer. /Public place./ Seiji felt his brow wrinkle at the restrictions of this new found relationship. /Screw it./ Reaching forward he pulled Touma into a tight hug though not as tightly as he wished to. Both of the archer hands were full with his bags but despite it the blonde felt Touma's face press into his chest hot breath seeping through his light shirt.
As the embraced ended Seiji slid his hands down over Touma's feeling a shiver run through the younger teen's body before he took the bags from Touma's hands.
"Let's go, we still have bit of time before I have to be back at the dojo so how about lunch," Seiji asked winking. Instantly his friends face was covered in a blush as he nodded.
"S-sure, lunch sounds great." The two turned Seiji leading with Touma in step beside him. They entered the main building; train departures and arrivals being announced over a loud speaker as travelers moved about. Glancing at Touma Seiji found himself mesmerized by the archer's profile. /I can't believe he's here. Finally! God I'm acting like we haven't seen each other in years. Get a grip Date./ In fact it had been less then two weeks and yet to Seiji it felt like years had passed. /Years since I've heard your voice though we talked on the phone last night. Years since I've seen your face, though I gazed at your picture before falling asleep. Years since I've touched you, yet my hands just left yours. GOD! I can't stand it! This is stupid, foolish, wrong…/
"So how have you been?" Touma voice broke through the chaos of Seiji's mind. Seiji glanced at him as they exited the train station. / And yet when I look at you, none of that matters./
"Fine, I suppose. It has been lonely here," Seiji admitted.
"Lonely? But you're with your family, how could you possible be lonely?" Touma questioned as they exited and began crossed the parking lot.
"My family can not replace you," Seiji answered simply. Touma blinked obviously not expecting that answer as a pink once again stain his pale cheeks.
"Oh."
Seiji glanced around taking note of the nearly empty park lot before asking, "Touma, what's in these bags?" The archer blinked forgetting his embarrassment
for a moment.
"Why are they heavy? I'll take-"
"No, I was just wondering."
"Clothes mainly, a few books, you know the basics." He shrugged his backpack carrying shoulders.
"Nothing breakable?"
"No, why?" Seiji dropped the bag at his feet grasping Touma and pulling him to his chest like he'd wanted to when he first stepped off the train. "Seiji, what-"
Seiji dipped down capturing the archer lips before he could say any other word. He watched as bright blue eyes glassed over before closing as Touma leaned into the kiss. Following Touma's example Seiji's eyes closed allowing his other senses to take over. /He tastes so good./ The archer's hands slid over his shoulder and then around his neck as the kiss strengthened. Slowly so that he didn't startle the younger teen Seiji opened his mouth his tongue brushing across the other's pink lips. Touma made a surprised noise before he lips slowly opened to Seiji's. Taking his invitation Seiji's tongue entered tracing the outline of white teeth, before starting toward the others tongue. A moan slipped out though Seiji wasn't sure if it was his or Touma's. Slowly the two pulled back staring intently into each others eyes.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist," Seiji whispered his lips still only centimeters from Touma's.
"That's more then ok, I mean I know I'm irresistible," Touma teased pushing Seiji's blonde hair behind his right ear.
"I know." Touma's smirk disappeared instantly replaced by blushing shock.
Seiji snickered silently as he leaned in for another kiss, but pulled back as voices neared. Touma eyes which had closed upon his approach opened looking confused before he heard the voices.
"How about that lunch?" Touma asked giving his companion an assuring smile. They both knew and somewhat accepted the limitation of this new relationship. Public shows of affection were all but out. Especially now that they were in Sendai, the Dates' hometown. /I'm glad he understands. We're both risking a lot, but…/ Seiji glanced at Touma as the archer grabbed one of his bags that Seiji had dropped. /I think he's well worth it./
**********************************************
It was about 1:30 before the two arrived at a small diner style restaurant that served American style food. The smell of French-fires and grilled beef filling Touma nose.
"I'm so hungry." Touma yawned as they took note of the 'seat yourselves' sign by the glass door.
"Didn't you grab food on the train?" The two of them spotted and empty booth near the back of the diner and made their way toward it passing red cushioned booth surrounding silver tables.
"Naw, the dinning car was full." Though was true it wasn't the really reason Touma had eaten. He had just been so nervous about seeing Seiji again, fearing that the swordsman had somehow changed his feeling.
"Well then order as much as you want, my treat."
"As if I was going to pay," Touma teased.
"Oh you will Touma-chan. Maybe not in money, but…" Touma head shot up at the tone of voice his 'boyfriend' used. Upon catching a glimpse of that smug, sexy face Touma cheeks burned. "Are you hot Touma, you look at little-"
"Excuse me?" Touma and Seiji both turned to the female voice to see a thin teenage girl smiling at them a notepad in one hand and pen in the other. "May I take your orders?"
"Oh could you give us a minute," Touma asked realizing that the menus were right there on the table.
"Sure I'll be back in a few." Touma watched as she walked back toward the counter casting a backward glance at the two of them. Another girl, this one with dye blonde hair slid over to her whisper something in the first girl's ear that had the both of the apron wearing young woman giggling. Smiling Touma knew what was coming. /This is going to be good./ Grabbing the menu Touma studied it for moment before deciding on his selection.
"They only have three kinds of teas."
"I didn't notice," Touma commented watching the blonde while keeping an eye out for the waitresses.
"Oh well, I guess I'll have to- What?" Seiji asked as he noticed his younger friends staring at him.
"You'll see." Touma raised his eyebrows as the girl came back.
"So see anything you like?" /Wow, nice start./ Touma watched the swordsman as the tone of her question registered and Seiji stared straight back to Touma before slowly turn to look at the girl.
"I. I'll have a cup of Green tea and the turkey salad."
"And I'll have a coca-cola with chili fries and a bacon burger." The girl jotted it down all the while throwing seductive glances at Seiji who was now staring back down at the menu. Touma bit his lips as he watched Seiji. The blonde was still not very comfortable with girls despite realizing his preference.
"So will anyone else be joining you gentlemen, girlfriends perhaps?"
"No just us," Touma replied quickly. The girl gaze flickered to him for a moment before returning to Seiji who was still staring at the menu. "That's too bad."
Seiji, trying to remain calm and courtesy simply kept his head down. The archer
on the other hand was now biting both lips as he refused to allow his laughter to escape. Seiji looked up at him his eyes nervously flicker from Touma to the girl's apron. /She not leaving till she at least looks at you in the eyes, again. / Touma chimed to himself. Seiji finally unable to take it looked up at the girl giving her his best 'You're dismissed now' smile. That seemed to work as she said.
"Ok I'll be right out with your drinks."
Before the waitress could make it five feet from the table Touma burst out in silent laughter his body shaking so hard that the salt and pepper shakers were dancing.
Seiji only glared at his secret love before asking.
"That doesn't bother you?"
"W.wh.what?" Touma stumbled as he tried to stop laughing.
"That," Seiji motioned behind him. Touma glanced back to see the two girl giggling again as they went about fix the drinks.
"Why? Are you interested in her?"
"Nani? No." Blonde hair waved as Seiji shook his head.
"Then no of course not, I know you and I… I trust you," Touma smiled sincerely.
"Well just to let you know I'm the jealousy type."
"Here you go!" The girl interrupted as she leaned down to give Seiji his tea, and a bit of cleavage. /She getting a little daring./ Seiji noticed and rolled his eyes. /Even if we weren't together he wouldn't be interest in her./
"Thank you."
"Oh you're very welcome." She straightened throwing her dark hair over her shoulder before turning to Touma. "Oh and your Cola will be out after they get the machine running."
"Ok, thanks."
The girl stood there for moment watching Seiji prepare his tea, before returning to the counter and into the kitchen.
Seiji sighed before standing. "She forgot a stirring stick. I'll be right back."
Touma watched his khakis clad butt depart with a content smile. /He's so graceful, and considerate. And god what a body!/ He felt his mouth dry at the thought of Seiji's well toned body and that kiss earlier. Looking over to the counter he hoped the waitress was coming with his drink but she was nowhere to be seen. Reaching over for the blonde's tea he decided a sip would suffice. /After all it is his fault I need a drink./ Touma was not that fond of tea, unless it had lots of honey and even more sugar.
"You won't like it," Seiji said simply upon his return to which the archer shrugged.
"I just need a sip, my throat's dry."
"From what?" Seiji smirked as Touma blushed. He raised the cup with two hands to hide his face as he looked out the window staring at weeding gravel road that lend out into a deeply wooded area. There was slight movement in the branches that didn't coincide with the tree. /Squirrels probably./
Remembering the drink in his hands Touma placed it to his lips slurping some of the warm, del…. "Arak!" Touma exclaimed yanking the cup from his lips. He heard Seiji chuckle at his reaction to the very bitter tea. "This stuff is nasty!"
"No it's Green tea. A bit bitter-"
"A bitter my ass," Touma protested as he rubbed his tongue against the roof of his mouth like a cat trying to remove the taste.
"I told you as much, besides you drink coffee every morning at least tea is good for you," the blonde defended.
"Not without four humping spoons of sugar!" Touma sputtered still trying to get the taste out of his mouth. "Where's that girl with my drink?"
There was a suddenly silence which had Touma refocusing his attention on the frowning teen across from him.
"What?"
"You know you shouldn't-" /Oh that./
"Don't start that again I'm fine," Touma cut him off putting the cup down in front of him. Seiji's frown simply deepened.
"I'm fine; I've lived with it for over six years I know what I'm doing."
"I just want you to be careful, diabetes is not something to mess around with, Touma-chan." /God I wish they would have never found out./
It had been just before graduations and Touma had been super stressed with finals coming up. Not to mention the emotional stress of his growing feeling for a Trooper whom he knew would never return them. /Boy that was unnecessary stress./ He was spending long hour studying both at the manor and at the library. That left him little time for food, so he began consuming junk. He also wasn't following his schedule; not getting the amount of sleep he needed or checking his blood sugar level as often as he should have. /It was rather stupid of me./ Touma had dealt with his low blood sugar all of his life. When he turned twelve the doctor taught him how to check his Blood sugar level on his own so that he won't have to make weekly doctor visits. But all of that had been forgotten in those few weeks and on one particular night, on his way back from the library it hit him. He remembered shivering as he made his way to the manor, his feet dragging, his skin clammy. He knew what was happening and knew he needed to get to his room and call the doctor before any of the guys noticed. Unfortunately he never made it. He vividly recalled the front door opening and Ryo's sky blue eyes before everything went dark. When he awoke he was in the hospital facing a very tire looking mob. / 'What the hell were you thinking?' that was Kento. 'Touma why didn't you tell us? We're your mates aren't we?' Cye, of course. 'I can't believe you, you scared the shit out of me!' Ryo, ever the impulsive, loving leader. 'Touma you scared us, we didn't know what was wrong. Please don't keep things like this from us.' And that was Seiji, his voice ghostly calm compared to the others. Yet his face was heavy with concern for me./ Touma looked back over to Seiji who eyes shone with the same feeling.
"I know, I'll be careful."
"Here it is! Sorry about the wait." The girl appeared suddenly her bleach blonde friend beside her. "Coca-cola with chili fries and a bacon burger. And for you a turkey salad." The other girl helped place the food all the while glancing at Seiji. /Geez, I can smell the desperation./
"Excuse me, but aren't you, Date Seiji." / 'Date Seiji' you wish./
"Yes."
"I'm Inukua, Yui Inukua, we went to middle school together." Touma watched Seiji stare at the girl for a moment before shaking his head.
"Sorry, but I don't remember you."
"I didn't think you would my hair wasn't blonde back then, but we had homeroom together."
"I see, I'm sorry that I don't remember you-"
"It is alright I was… I just want to make sure you were him. Sorry for disturbing you, and enjoy your meal." She bowed. /Wow, she's kinda sweet./
"Yeah and if you need anything Date-san let me know. I'll be glad to serve you." Her voice had lowered into a huskily coo on that last part as she bowed.
"No, that will be fine thanks," Touma smiled despite his dismissive tone. The girl looked up sharply at him before turn grabbing her friend's and arm and disappearing through the kitchen door.
Touma watched them go before focusing on his food the smell of chili fries and bacon filling his senses. "This looks so good." Digging in Touma stuffed his face, hunger taking precedents over manners for the moment. After consuming all the fries and half the burger Touma sighed, his stomach feeling much better. He glanced up from his food for the first time since it had arrived, he found lavender eyes watching him as flawless lips moved chewing his salad silently.
"So, how's the family, do they know I'm coming?"
"Yeah, my mom is really excited and my grandfather seemed happy about it, though it was hard to tell." Touma had met Seiji's mom and grandfather at Nasuti's four years ago just after the war. Nasuti had wanted all of the families to meet and see where the boys were staying. Only Touma and Ryo's families hadn't been able to make. Ryo's because most of his father side lived in the USA and Touma's because…/ They didn't give a damn./
"Just like you."
"Nani?!" Seiji raised an eyebrow.
"You heard me you two act so much alike. I can just see you in sixty years."
"Sixty try seventy," Seiji snorted as he sipped the tea he'd ordered.
"He's that old."
"Yep."
Touma smiled. /Wow the Dates age well. Goodie for me./
"What are you smiling about?" Touma started to answer when he noticed their favorite waitress making her way back over to them.
"She's coming back isn't she?"
Touma only smiled as the girl cooed.
"Will you be have any, desert?"
"I don't think so, at least not for me anyway, Touma?" Seiji voice almost pleaded with Touma to say 'no' so that they could get out of here and away from the girl. /To help or not to help./
"Yeah actually, I'd like a brownie scoop please." The girl nodded though her eyes never left Seiji. Seiji on the other hand was glaring a hole through Touma's chest.
"Alright I'll be right out with it." The second she was gone Seiji hissed.
"Why you? I'm going to get you for this Tou."
"I'm looking forward to it." Touma watched the lavender eyes suddenly light up as he glanced around the nearly empty diner and then back to Touma.
"What?" Touma raised an eyebrow knowing that look meant trouble. His eyes widen as he felt a shoeless foot brush his ankle, slipping over his jean covered leg.
"Seiji…" The swordsman only smiled as he continued to rub his foot over Touma's leg. The archer shivered as he noticed the waitress coming back. "Seiji! S.she coming." The blonde only cocked an eyebrow at Touma as he went higher. Touma could feel his cheeks burning as he looked sheepishly up at her.
"Here you go."
"Y. you kn.. know. On seC. second thought I'll. I'll have that TO. go." Touma blurted as Seiji's foot started to rub his inter-thigh.
"And the check please." Seiji smiled politely as his damned foot slid further up Touma's thigh. /Public place! Public place!/
"Suurre…" she replied skeptically her face screaming 'what a weirdo' as she stepped back before scurrying off with Touma's desert. The second she was gone Touma gaze flew to Seiji crashing into amused lavender.
"What are you…uh-!" Touma bit his lip as a gasp nearly escaped.
"Whatever do you mean?" The replied was seductively and smooth as he foot continued to slide over his tightening jeans.
"Seiji.. we're at a rest..aura.nt."
"Whose fault is that?" Seiji asked as Touma tried not to let the arousing touch get to him. "Answer me Touma-chan." Touma looked at Seiji as he fought to keep his eyes open though with each passing caress they grew heavier. /Shit! She coming back!/
"Mine!" Touma hissed through clenched teeth. Seiji's foot slid from between his legs just as the girl arrived plopping the bag down on the table. She glanced at him with a confused look before her eyes turned to Seiji.
"Here's the check, thank you for coming and please," She paused sliding a folded note under the check. "Come again." Winking she was gone.
Seiji studied the paper undoubtedly the girl's number before reaching into his pocket for his wallet clip. Laying down the bills he glanced up at the still flushed teen.
"Shall we go?" /Only if I can stand./
"I love it when you pout," Seiji whispered before turning to leave. /Sure you do, blonde hair bastard./ Touma grumbled to himself. /Why is it every time I'm the one that ends up blushing?/
Sighing Touma managed to make his legs work again and started after the blonde. /Thank God I was blushing. If not I would have had to wait in the booth till my little friend settled down./
******************************************
The doors clicked as they unlocked for the two teenage troopers. Seiji walked pass Touma to the driver's door as the passenger door opened and shut hard. /Oh great./ Seiji knew that his method of 'persuasion' was a bit much but by the sound of that door he'd overestimated Touma's tolerance for his… games. Sliding calm into the seat Seiji asked.
"What's wrong?"
"What's wrong, what the hell do you thinks wrong!" Touma practically yelled.
Slipping the key into the ignition Seiji stepped on the clutch starting the dark green sport car, a gift from his family on his sixteenth birthday. /This could get ugly./
"You're the one who's always saying how careful we have to be in public and then you do something like that in a diner no less."
"No one saw." The driver replied as he exited the parking lot and instead of hoping back on the highway he opted for the back-roads.
"How do you know, there could have been cameras or something."
"Geez, Touma the world is not out to catch us," Seiji snorted at Touma's apparent paranoia.
"It won't take the world just one nosey people. And then we'll…" The blonde noticed Touma abruptly stop and glanced at the archer to see his cheek pressed against the glass trying to hide his face but Seiji could see his sad reflection in his glass's twin.
"'Then we'll' what Touma." Seiji waited but Touma didn't answer. Realizing this was more then just and embarrassed anger he pulled over. "Touma." The archer stiffed as the car stopped and Seiji reached over for his shoulder.
"Tou what is it?"
"I'm worried…" Touma whispered still not looking at him. "I'm worried that your family will find out. I'm worried that someone will see something or ear something and…"
"And?" Seiji persisted gaining the attention of Touma's sapphire orbs.
"I'll never see you again." There was fear in those orbs now as Touma watched the swordsman's face for a reaction.
"Oh Touma, I'm sorry," Seiji pulled the younger boy to him kissing his forehead. "I didn't realize what was upsetting you. Don't worry about that love, any of it. I'd never let anyone separate us. I swear." Looking down at the boy, the blonde watched him nod a soft smile on those pink lips. Sliding his hands from Touma's shoulders to his face, the two neared and kissed.
As they pulled apart from the soft meeting of lips Seiji sighed.
"I'm sorry I got carried away, but you didn't see your face."
"Yeah, I'm sure I looked like a complete baka."
"No! You were breath taking." The instant reaction to the words left Touma beet red and frowning.
"Stop that!"
"What?" Seiji led down brushing his lips over Touma burning left cheek.
"Stop saying things like that," Touma huffed before Seiji claimed his lips again.
"It was just a compliment Touma-chan."
"Yeah well stop," Touma pouted looking through blue bangs at the man still caressing his face.
"And miss a chance to see you blush Tou, never!"
*************************************
"Holy shit! I would have never guessed." The young man said to his companion as they watched a rather enlightening show.
"Now aren't you glad we came out here?" The other asked glancing at the brown hair Japanese boy beside him. Bangs fall over intensely dark eyes. "Who would have guessed our Sensei's son would be like that."
"A fag like you, I knew it all along." The younger teen teased his eyes narrow at the two boys continued to suck face in the sports car.
"Shut the fuck up, Mokotu," his cousin hissed elbowing the other.
"What? It's true, beside what do you care if we weren't cousins-"
"Don't start that again," Torin snapped. His younger cousin, well second cousin had a thing for him despite the fact that he claimed to be straight. /Swings both ways I guess./ "I wonder who the hottie is with him."
"Looks like he's your type of guy, what with the dye hair and all," Mokotu commented as he grabbed a bug that had been buzzing about his head.
"Hey what's Seiji doing with a punk for a lover? And blue hair, who dyes their hair blue anymore?"
"I suppose red would be better, Torin."
Torin tugged at his long dark red ponytail.
"Maybe not on him."
The two teens in the car parted before Seiji tossed his head slightly giving the blue haired boy next to him affectionate peak on the forehead before restarting the car and heading down the road.
"I guess you'll find out, looks like they're heading to the dojo." Though the statement was innocent enough the look on his cousin face was not. He could almost see the evil plan swirling around the younger boy's head.
"Mokotu, your aura's laughing manically."
To Be Continued….
DL: Yeah that's the end of Chapter 2!!
Touma: That was so mean Seiji.
Seiji: You know you liked it. Come here! *Pulls Touma to him and proceeds to-*
DL: Yeah knock it off. Anyway thanks for all the reviews. Please continue to review.

Touma: Kinda like you. Ahaa!
Touma: Blab blab! Get to the story already.
Seiji: Yeah hurry it up!
DL: Wait a minute, geez. Why are you in such a hurry? *both teens blush.* Oh wait never mind. Alright start chapter 2 please.

Seiji: Yeah she gets really moody and whiney when she isn't getting anyway.
Touma: Kinda like you. Ahaa!
