Nasuti rested her tired eyes, if only for a moment, with the pain of labor already fading from her mind as she held her son for the very first time. She smiled as she looked into his nearly colorless eyes, tweaked his already perfect nose, and gently pressed her lips onto his slightly cone-shaped forehead.
"He's perfect," Seiji murmured, unshed tears of happiness making his visible eye bright.
Nasuti could only nod, her own tears choking her. "Just as I'd dreamed…eyes bright like fire, hair black as pitch…"
"Name?" the Messenger-Harpy asked impatiently.
"Date Hikari," Seiji replied, his eyes on the child.
"The council shall be informed of his birth." The Messenger-Harpy vanished, leaving the three alone.
