DL: Well it's been a while; sorry I've been very busy. I know I know you're wondering why this story before Between Dates and all I can say is I'm working on it. Promise.

Anyway here's chapter 14.

Touma: What? That's it, no not so witty banter?

DL: Nope sorry.

Shu: Someone is losing their touch.

DL: Hey you can't talk about the writer that way.

Seiji: After nearly half a year I think we can.

Ryo: Yeah what have you been doing?

DL: Well there is my really job, my manga company and *cough* finalfantasy.

Nasty: Sorry we didn't catch that, repeat please.

DL: *cough* finalfantasy *ahem*

Everyone: Final Fantasy!!!

DL: *nods and looks guilty* Sorry but that game is addicting.

Seiji: *nods* Yes, yes it is.

Touma: Seiji you play?

Seiji: *nod* I go by name, Korin.

Shu: LOL Seiji how original.

Nasty: Hehe well Destiny's Lot you better get started before that addiction catches up to you.

DL: Hai!

Chapter 14

Touma fired again his arrow tearing though the night air before sinking into youki flesh. /Funny I would have thought there would be more youki. Did Kayura really think she could capture us with such a small army or…/ Touma scanned the field as he fired again. The thin demons were returning to the forest.

"They're… retreating?"

/Saya, Ryo./ Spinning to look the opposite direction he noticed Kayura heading toward two very trapped troopers. Shuten was closing in on them his chains binding them to the earth.

Without a second thought he called for Seiji, who was busy aiding Shin against Nazza.

"Ryo and Saya!" He called before dropping off the roof.

"Be careful!"

"Shit!" Ryo cursed as he struggled to free himself; without any tree close by they had been pinned to the ground Shuten looming over them his sickle drawn.

"Well done, Shuten." Ryo didn't have to turn and in fact couldn't but he knew that voice.

"Kayura, you bitch!"

"Watch your language Rekka," Kayura hissed as she stepped passed him heading toward a strangely quiet Saya.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm going to kill her of course. We have no use for her." The one time priestess explained as she moved toward the girl.

"Saya!" Ryo called renewing his struggle.

"Lights out Saya-san," Kayura smirked as she lifted her two jittes. Saya blinked coming back to herself, her eyes focusing on the woman above her just as Kayura drove the two golden blades them toward her.

"Oni no Shuten!"

"What!?" Chains caught Kayura weapons in mid swing knocking them just to the left of Saya's body. "Shuten, what the fuck do you think…?! No!!!"

Ice blue eyes started back at her a hateful sneer covering Shuten features.

"Leave her." Shuten spoke his voice barely above a whisper as the chains holding Saya and Ryo down disappeared Ryo was instantly on his feet, but Saya didn't dare move with Kayura practice straddling her.

"How, how did… You!" Kayura eyes burned as she stared down at the girl, her white and black armor cover in dirt. "You released him, you release Oni."

"Leave her," Shuten repeated, "Hunjo leave her at once!"

"Hunjo…?' Ryo muttered.

"A spirit, it is possessing Kayura, it has been for sometime."

"What?!"

"I will never leave her, she wants me here, she needs me here." A voice that definitely wasn't her slipped from between her lips.

"This chick really has problems with evil spirit doesn't she?" Ryo muttered finding this whole situation very annoying.

"Saya!"

"Touma!" Three arrows sailed over Saya effectively separating the two women.

Saya back peddled before pulling herself to her feet, just before Ryo and Shuten.

"She possessed by the same spirit that had control over you," Saya stated.

"Yes and he still has control over my brothers." The bearer of Oni hesitated before asking, "Could you…?"

Saya turned to him nodding, "Yes, just keep her off me and I can do it."

"Thank you," Shuten replied bowing slightly before pushing her of out the way, Kayura blade grazing her back.

"No! No, you won't, I wouldn't allow it!"

"Like you have a choice, Touma go with her!" Ryo ordered. "Me and Shuten have this one covered."

"Right."

Kayura growled before darting after her target.

"Weren't you listen asshole, you're not going anywhere near her.

"I kill you all."

"Kayura… You must wake up! You are stronger then him. You must break free of his control."[Author ID1: at Wed May 28 10:37:00 2003 ]

"This isn't right." Shin muttered as he blocked another of the poison masho strikes. The warlord had yet to utter a single word; in fact his entire continence was very unlike the Doku they knew.

"Shin!" Seiji warned as the masho's sword slice at him. Shin blocked again not willing to fight and hurt the masho until he understood what was going on.

Seiji stepped beside him slashing his long no-dachi at Doku who didn't even grunt when the blade cut into his shoulder. He staggered a bit before regaining his offensive stance and charging again.

"Don't just stand there Shin, fight."

"Seiji haven't you noticed, something is wrong with, them. Their possessed they can't help but fight, we shouldn't…"

"We have no choice but to fight back Shin, you know that." Seiji grunted as he blocked and pushed back against the masho knocking him off balance.

"Seiji, Shin!" Touma shouted as he and Saya neared. Saya stopped a few yards back as the archer raising his bow to take aim at the Masho.

^We need to distract him, Saya is going to free him.^

^What?! She can do that?^ Shin blinked glancing passed Touma to the silent figure clad in black and white armor.

^Yes, her armor can talk with the armor's spirit and free it, Shuten is already free.^ Touma informed, ^It appeared Kayura is also possessed and that is the spirit controlling everyone.^

"Well then tell Saya to hurry the hell up, me and Anubis are having one hell of a time containing Mr. Magic Man over here.^[Author ID1: at Wed May 28 10:37:00 2003 ]

^Oh what's the matter Shu, can't take a few rabbits.^

^Rabbit shit! I hope not I'm kinda afraid of those.^

Touma laughed out right, while Seiji and Shin both grinned.

^Ok then first we free these guys then we take care of our favorite demon priestess.^

Naaza gasped stumbling backward as the pain and sudden awareness slammed into him. He blinked glancing about. /Ningen Sekai, the troopers…/

"What is…"

^Be at peace, they are here to help, they will not harm you.^

/Shuten…/

^Yes, we were possessed Naa-kun. But that girl released us. Kayura and Rajura are still under his control.

/I see, I'll be at your side in mere moments./

He could feel Shuten smiling through their link as he stood straighter his eyes regarding those around him.

"My thanks," he bow simple before rushing past them in Shuten and Ryo's direction.

"Shin, go with him." Naaza heard Seiji order.

"On it."

The sounds of battle had long since been lost even by the sensitive ears of Byakuen. His brother was chasing him, following him further and further into the wilds. /He will be anger, furriest, Ryo and his trooper will be in danger. At least until his anger cools./

^Where are you taking me brother?^

^Byakuen?^

^Don't you miss this place brother, Ningen Sekai? This was once our home, these were once our trees. Could you not find peace here, again?^

The white tiger stopped amidst the trees turning back to look at his polar opposite, as he approached.

^Sometimes but the forest of Youja Kia are equally beautiful.^

^Yes, they are.^

The two paused in contemplation. As the leave rustle about bring in the faint scent of battle. /Damn it I forgot, about the smell./

^But I am sure you didn't lead me all the way out here to speak of the tree. Not when your precious boy is battling my master.^

^No, I wish for you to stay here in Ningen Sekai, Youja has changed you my brother, your desire to kill Ryo and Kaos are a testament to that.^

^And your willingness to stay by their side as a loyal pet is testament to how these Ningen have changed you.^

^Perhap, but my change has been for the better, can you honestly say the same,

Kokuen-Ko?^

^I don't have to…^ His brother stopped sniffing at the air before growling, He swirled on his brother slashing at Byukuen's muzzle, blood and fur coming away with the paws and claws before her turned and raced back toward the battle ground.

^I'm sorry, Kokuen-Ko.^ Byakuen lower his headed blood dripping from the four deep gashes his face now held.

"Damn it, where the hell did that spider go?" Shu yelled as he and Anubis stood back to back scanning for signs of their quarry.

"Be on guard Kon… Shu, Gen is full of tricks."

"No really! Stupid wolf!" Shu mumbled.

"Hey if you want me to call you Shu instead of Kongo you better-"

"Yeah, yeah!" The trooper interrupted before calling. "Guys!" Anubis glanced back to see Shu waving to the trio coming from his left.

Seiji was in the leader his eyes glancing around as he looked from the missing masho.

"Where is he?" the blond asked he reach them sword drawn and gleaming.

"No a clue he just disappeared." Shu shrug his defensive stands dropping a bit as Seiji stood in front of him. Anubis was at Shu's back he's eyes drifting toward the blond trooper who looked a little out of breath. Behind him Touma and the girl stood watching them.

"Did he chicken out?" Shu wondered as the small group search their surroundings and the edge of the forest to Anubis's right. /Gen, where are you?/

Turning back to steal another glance at Korin, his eyes widening as he got a glimpse of Saya and the dark figure behind her.

"Shit! He cursed shoving Kongo aside as he yelled to warn her. "Look out girl!"

"Anubis, was the hell?!"

"Shit!" Seiji muttered as he caught onto what was wrong turning to see the sharp blade of Gen's sickle cut into Saya's back. She screamed falling forward as Touma fire his already drawn arrow along with three freshly load ones.

"Saya!"

Anubis could see her fingers digging into the ground as she attempted to get up. Long white gashes cut across her back showed clearly that Rajura attack had cut through black designed on her armor but not through the white layer. Touma was instantly at her side his arrows have forced the masho away from his target.

"Saya?!" Touma slow examined her back as Seiji and Anubis ran toward them, but before they could reach them Gen appeared in their path. Weapon raised, as he prepared to call forth his surekill. His mouth opened but simply gapped.

/They are all free! It is not possible. It is all falling apart, why, how... I can hear her, that damn bitch is ruining everything. It was planned perfectly, it was…/ Arbinary[Author ID1: at Wed May 28 10:37:00 2003 ] paused in his ranting and glanced about noticing the absence of youki bodies and soldiers.

"What the fuck?!" She muttered. "That, that bastard."

"Kenbukyou!!!!"

Her voice rang through the clearing and forest hauling the warriors in their attacks.

"Yes my lady," The lord of the youki appeared bowing lowly before he raised his head, eyes gleaming with mischief.

"What is the meaning of this, where are your warriors?"

"I am sorry my dear lady Kayura but I'm afraid I'm going to be cutting are alliance off a bit early, another offer came up, I'm sure you understand."

"What offer?" she growled.

"Kaos has graciously offered me all of Youja Kai; it was too good to pass up."

"What?!" She screamed.

"Damn, my ears," Ryo muttered narrowing his eyes at the noise girl.

"Kaos… why would he…" Shuten whispered his eyes darting back forth between the two.

"Isn't that right brother?"

"Brother!"

"Brother… No way."

Kaos stepped out for the under growth beside the armored lord.

"Yes."

"Kaos…." Ryo whispered but Arbinary[Author ID1: at Wed May 28 10:37:00 2003 ] paid them no mind. He anger boiling as he glared at the two.

"You will die for this, masho!" Without another thought Arbinary faithful puppet dove toward Kenbukyou intent of cutting him to ribbons with her jittes. But just before she reached him the dark shadow of Yami no Anubis materialized blocking her blow.

"Why thank you Yami-chan."

"I wasn't protecting you," Anubis growled as he pushed Kayura back.

"Of course not, well I'm off now; enjoy yourself, Yami-chan." He turned but paused, "and do make sure you get what you want out of this new life of yours."

"No!! You can't. I will not be left here in the stinking Ningen Sekai."

Chinnngg, chinnggg!

The ring of the Kaos's staff caught everyone's attention. "You can not return. The way is closed for you, Hunjo… Or should I call you, Arbinary[Author ID1: at Wed May 28 10:37:00 2003 ]"

Touma: (blushes and looks away)

Saya: I'm in it too!

Shu: No one cares.

Saya: Ahah! You jerk!

Shu: OUCH!

Shin: (sighs) We're all in it. Except for the masho and Kayura.

Masho, Kayura: What!!!! No fair!
