~*~*~ Time/Setting Change
VISTORS PART II
"Remember this," Sango said with a cool demur. "Things aren't always as they seem."
The men stared as Sango as she went after Kagome. When she had said this, her eyes became cold like stone, as if in a trance. She showed no trace of emotion. For a moment it had scared Aoshi. Not the kind of fear one feels for their own life, but the fear for someone else. He thought that this incident had triggered something inside her, and made her act extremely strange. He looked over at Kenshin, and saw the shock and fear on his face, as well.
Kenshin was fearing of Kagome not Sango. When she scolded Misao, her eyes became watery, as if she was trying to hold in tears. He feared that she would cry, but she held them in, and walked away. Her friend had also seen the unshed tears, and made that sly comment. The others thought that she was referring to Kagome's and her own physical actions, but Kenshin knew that she wasn't. She was referring to the fact that Kagome was hiding her depression with anger.
~*~*~
Sango followed Kagome to a room that was far way from the entrance of the dojo. She could sense her within there, and stepped inside. Even though she felt prepared, her heart wrenched from her chest when she saw Kagome crying.
Sango decided not to speak verbally for the others might here her. <What's wrong?>
<It's all so similar.> Kagome sent back along with quite a few mental sobs.
<How so?>
<I'm pretty sure you know this, but the first time I met Inuyasha, he attacked me just like Misao did. The only difference is that then I was weak, now I am strong.>
<Kagome, listen to me. You gotta forget the jerk.>
<I-I can't.>
<FORGET HIM!!!>
<But it's so hard!> at that point, Kagome was bawling. Sango couldn't take anymore of this, encircled the young girl with her arms.
<Just let go Kagome. Just let go.>
~*~*~ Mid-afternoon
Later Kagome and Misao found each other and apologized. Kagome seemed very nice and forgiving to Misao.
"I'm so sorry!" Misao cried. "I had no right to do what I did!"
"It's quite alright," Kagome replied. "You were tired and upset from all of the traveling. It's completely understandable." (~sigh~ I think Kagome can be Way to forgiving at times.)
Misao just stared Kagome with awe. `I can't believe it. How can anyone forgive someone so easily? I mean I attacked her and she is acting like I mildly insulted her verbally. Oh well, I guess I should be thankful. If I did that to Karou, she would try to poison me or kill me while I slept. Now that I think about it, she was really nice at first then she became a real bitch.'
****
"Hello Misao," a sweet voice from the back of the dojo called out. "How long have you been here?"
"Not long, Miss Karou," Misao replied cheerfully. "So how is your relationship, with Himura, going?"
Karou soft gaze became unemotional and as hard as stone. Her once soft and sweet tone became cold and cruel. "I have decided to get married to that man from England."
"What about Kenshin!?" Misao cried.
A cruel smirk spread across Karou's face. "Let him wallow in his own misery. I have given him plenty of time to realize his feelings. He lost his chance. Now that I'm gone, he is gonna hafta deal with it. Besides the man is rich, and easy to manipulate, unlike Kenshin. I just can't wait to see the look on Kenshin's face when I tell him." (AN: I know I made Karou seem really mean, but I hate her!)
****
Misao glanced at the girl next to her, who was sipping her tea. `I hope she is nicer than Karou,' Misao thought very depressed. `I can tell Himura has feelings for her, even if they are extremely small (AN: That is really not the case, it's just in Misao's head. Kenshin is head-over-heels for Kagome. ^_^). Unfortunately, he is afraid of what might happen.' (~sigh~ This is all Karou's fault. Isn't she a bitch. Sorry Karou fans.)
"Well even though we are going to the Okabeko (sp?) tonight, I'm still gonna go out and buy some food," Kagome announced while running to the front door.
~*~*~ Market
Hiko walked through the town, trying to find the dojo. "Ugh, my stupid apprentice! Could he for once give me decent directions?" Hiko complained. He was still muttering to himself until he noticed a couple of thugs bothering a woman carrying food. The woman was extremely young, beautiful, and some what unique when it came to clothing. He decided to help her because he was such a nice guy (YEAH RIGHT!).
"Leave me alone!" the woman said harshly.
"Now, now. Don't be like that," the one with the wooden sword said. "We just wanna have some fun!"
"In your dreams!" the woman shot back.
Hiko didn't know who the woman was, but he liked her. She had a LOT of fire in her. `She is either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid…or both,' Hiko noted.
"C'mon. Just come with us!" the one with the dagger said in an extremely agitated voice. He reached for the woman, but before he could touch her, she punched him in the face, rendering him unconscious.
"You little brat!" another one with a dagger yelled. All six of them, who were conscious (AN: there was seven to begin with), ganged up on the woman and drew their weapons. The woman placed her food down, and prepared to fight.
"Excuse me!" Hiko interrupted, gaining everyone attention. "It's not nice to gang up on a lady!"
"What are you gonna do about it?" the one with the wooden sword spoke up again/
"This!" Hiko answered, elbowing the man in the gut, and knocking him unconscious.
"L-let's get him!" one of them shouted (AN: only five of them are conscious. ^_~). As soon as that command was ushered, they all charged Hiko, and one-by-one fell unconscious on the ground (AN: Hiko only used his fists for that little skirmish.)
After they were all dead to the world (AN: NOT literally dead) Hiko glanced over at the young woman. He flashed a devilish smile at her and asked, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," she answered, picking up the food she had put down earlier when the thugs fist started to pick on her.
"What's your name?" he inquired.
"Kagome." (AN: It's Kagome, NOT Sango.)
"Well Kagome, there is no need to thank me. I was just doing my duty," Hiko said proudly.
`Conceited aren't we?' Kagome noted. "What is your name sir?"
"Hiko!"
"Hiko? Why does that-Oh!" Kagome exclaimed. "Segiro Hiko?"
"Yes," he replied slightly unsure of the situation and why she seemed so excited. "So you have heard of me?"
"Not really," Kagome told him. When she said this he felt a little hurt, a little. "You see, I'm staying at the dojo for awhile, so I was aware that a man named Segiro Hiko was coming to visit."
"Then perhaps you can help me find the dojo!" Hiko muttered. "You see my stupid apprentice didn't give me clear directions, as usual!"
He handed the directions to Kagome who looked at them with a smile. "Funny," she stated. "They seem perfectly clear to me."
"Well um…can you take me there or not?"
"Sure!" Kagome told him with a smile. "Just follow me!"
~*~*~ Dojo
When Kagome walked through the doors with Hiko, Kenshin nearly died of shock (AN: again NOT literally). Kagome was slightly annoyed with Hiko, but refused to admit it. Some how, Kenshin could tell that Kagome was irritated, even if it wasn't obvious. When she left to put the food away, Hiko started to talk to Kenshin, and he was nice, for a change (sorry all you Hiko lovers).
"Kagome seems to be a nice girl," Hiko commented. "Strong willed and loyal as well." (Sorry if it seems I'm describing a dog)
"Yeah, she is," Kenshin replied with admiration for Kagome.
"Sometimes you have the worst taste in woman," Hiko commented.
"Oro?"
"But this time you did well!" Hiko said while slapping Kenshin's back.
"Oro!?"
"Remember, Kenshin, she's a keeper!" Hiko called, while we walked away. Kenshin watched him leave dumbfoundly.
"Oro?"
~*~*~ Streets of Tokyo
Kenshin, Kagome, and Hiko headed towards the Okabeko (sp?). Yahiko, Sano, Aoshi, Megumi, and Sango were already there. They went there before Hiko came to the dojo. Kenshin and Kagome had decided to wait for Hiko in their own little way. They walked in silence, until Hiko disrupted it.
"So, uh…Kagome was it?" Hiko questioned, but only continued when Kagome nodded. "Where are you from?"
When Kagome heard this question she smiled and her eyes looked somewhat distant. She remained silent, but when it seemed as if she wasn't going to answer, she did. "I was born in the place that is now called Tokyo; however, three years ago I met some friends that need my assistance, and traveled around Japan with them.
"How did you get around?" Hiko inquired.
"Mostly on foot, sometime boat," she answered.
"What did they need your help for?" Hiko asked.
"To find some shards."
"Of what?" Hiko wondered, truly interested in the subject that was being discussed.
"Of this," Kagome said pulling out her necklace that had the Shikon no Tama. A dark look crossed her face. "It used to be in tiny pieces, but we all worked together, and got it whole again. In the process we received many enemies and allies."
"What enemies and allies? Who are your friends?" Kenshin asked before Hiko could, determined to have a part in the conversation.
"I traveled with a man named Inuyasha, a monk named Miroku, Sango, Kirara, and a young boy named Shippo. Occasionally, towards the end of our journeys, we would be accompanied by a man named Kouga, an old woman named Kaede, and a man named Sesshoumaru, who happens to be Inuyasha's older half-brother. All of my friends and allies were, at one point, my enemies, but only when we first met. After a few meetings, some more than others, we became friends, especially when we all had a common enemy."
"And the enemies?" Hiko wondered
"Many people fought us, but I didn't consider them my enemies. Me enemies were Naraku and anyone who worked for him intentionally at any point." (AN: that includes Kikyo)
"And what happened to Naraku?" Kenshin asked.
Kagome smiled sweetly, and replied slightly to sweetly for anyone's comfort, "He is no longer." They walked in silence the rest of the way.
~*~*~ Okabeko
"Hey what took you so long?" Sano asked as Hiko, Kagome, and Kenshin walked into the Okabeko. "We have been waiting here, forever!"
"Baka!" Megumi commented. "We just got here a minute ago. Leave a baka like you to be so stupid."
"What did you say!?" Sano threatened.
"You heard me!" Megumi yelled back. They started arguing with each other, and after about two minutes everyone started to ignore them.
"Hi, I'm Sango," Sango said greeting Hiko.
"I'm Segiro Hiko," Hiko replied.
"I know," Sango told him while smiling.
They all took their seat and Megumi and Sano were fighting in the process. Their seating arrangement was like this.
Kag Hiko
Sango Ken
Meg Sano
Mis Aoshi
Yahiko
They were in a booth talking so everyone had their back to a wall, and Kagome and Hiko were sitting in the seats that were at the end of their compartment. Since the compartment didn't have a curtain it was open to the rest of the compartments and hallway.
"Hi everyone!" a woman, who was a waitress, said.
"Hello Miss Tae!" Kenshin greeted.
"You must be Kagome," Miss Tae said looking at Kagome, who looked somewhat confused. "I already met Sango, and she told me all about you. And you must be Hiko," she said turning towards Hiko. They both nodded. "Will you all be having the beef stew?" Tae asked. When Kenshin nodded she told them, "I'll be right back."
Everyone was silent until Miss Tae and Subame (sp?) returned with the food. "Oh, Miss Tae?" Hiko asked before she could leave.
"Yes?"
"Could you bring me some sakẻ?" Hiko inquired.
"Right a way," she answered. She left and then came back with a huge pitcher of sakẻ, and gave it to Hiko. "et me know if you need anything else."
Hiko looked at Kagome once Tae left. "Would you like some?" he asked.
"Um…no thank you." she replied.
Throughout the dinner they talked and really enjoyed each other's company. Towards the end, the saw and overhead the yells of ten drunken men.
"Our government sucks!" one yelled.
"Yeah!" four others chorused in unison.
"It's not the government! It's the people!" another yelled.
"Yeah!" the remanding for yelled. The argument continued for quite some time. To say that it really annoyed Kagome and Sango had to be the biggest understatement of the year. The others were mildly upset, some more than others.
"You're a baka!" one yelled.
"Shut up!" another screamed and threw his sakẻ bottle. The guy barely dogged it, and it headed straight for the back of Kagome's head. The men at her own table rushed to help her, but Kagome caught it behind her back, an inch away from her head. She turned around and glared at the men.
"Hiko?" Sango asked. "Can I have one of your empty bottles?" Hiko gave the empty bottle to her leaving the jug with himself. Kagome, Sango, and Hiko stood up and walked into the hallway empty bottles in hand. They spotted the drunks, and threw the bottles at them. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they all aimed for the same person, so he got hit in the head with three bottles, rendering him unconscious.
"Hey!" one of them yelled at Hiko, Kagome, and Sango. "You'll pay for that!" All of the drunks (who were conscious) stood up and was about to attack them, until Kagome spoke up.
"If you want to fight, then let's go outside!" she stated coldly and her glare matched her voice. She walked outside with Hiko and Sango following her. The drunken men (who were conscious) followed them, and the group from the dojo decided to follow the drunks, just in case.
When they got outside, the men (who were drunk) pulled out daggers. Kenshin was about to intervene, but a look from Kagome told him not to. "Three for each of us!" Kagome sated coldly to Hiko and Sango, and they nodded in agreement.
Hiko charged first. He elbowed one in the nose. That man fell to the ground in pain. He then saw another man come towards him. He swiped his dagger at Hiko, but Hiko dogged it and Hiko's fist collided with the man's gut. For his last man he just hit him in the face.
After Hiko took his down, Sango began. The first one she punched in the gut. The second the chopped his neck, and for the third she kicked in the chest.
Kagome was the last one to move. A man came up from behind her and had her in a headlock. She grabbed the man's arm, and flipped him over her back and onto the ground. The next did the same thing as the first, but he was too heavy to flip. Instead she elbowed his solar plex, then stomped on the instep of his foot, then elbowed his nose, an the last thing she did was she let her arm drop to her side and curled her hand in a fist. When her arm reached her side her fist collided straight with the man's groin (AN: OUCH! Sorry I just had to add that in there. Miss Congeniality anyone?). The third guy approached her from behind like the others. She crouched down and tripped him with an extended leg she swung around along the ground. Once he fell to the ground on his back, Kagome did a heel-drop into his stomach.
After all nine were curled on the ground, unable to fight anymore, everyone, including Sango, looked at Kagome with awe. "Man that had to hurt!" Yahiko commented.
"I guess I'll have a few new patients!" Megumi told everyone cheerfully.
"I wanted to fight!" Sano whined.
"Kagome? I have never seen this side of you before," Sango muttered.
"Way to go girl!" Misao cheered.
"You're one tough girl!" Hiko stated.
"You girls are incredible!" Aoshi complemented.
"Wow!" was all Kenshin could manage.
"Let's go back to the dojo," Kagome suggested, and everyone agreed. After a little argument over who was going to pay the bill, Hiko finally won. He said it was his treat because of the good work the girls had done. Even though everyone argued they all finally gave in and let Hiko pay the bill. The only one who didn't offer to pay the bill was Sano (figures!).
~*~*~ Dojo
When they reached the dojo door, Kagome froze in her spot. "Oro? What's wrong?" Kenshin asked.
"I have a really bad feeling." She replied.
"It's probably nothing." Yahiko commented.
"No!" Sango said and everyone looked at her strangely. "Every single time Kagome got a bad feeling, something terrible always happened."
"It could just be that your body feels weird because you exercised immediately after you ate dinner," Aoshi suggested.
"You're probably right," Kagome said smiling towards Aoshi.
<Kagome?> Sango asked telepathically.
<I don't think it's nothing.> she replied.
<A seeker of the jewel?>
<No, a danger to our new friends.>
<Someone could get hurt than? Why didn't you tell them, Kagome? They could get hurt!>
<Sango, the danger is mainly emotional, and it's not our place to intervene.>
<You're too kind, Kagome.>
<No! If I was truly kind, as you say I am, then I would have told somebody besides from you!>
<You did the right thing, Kagome!>
While they were talking telepathically, they walked through the dojo's doors, and Megumi noticed something. "You guys, there is a light coming from the training hall," Megumi informed everyone.
"Let's see who it is!" Yahiko commanded everyone.
When they opened the training hall doors they saw a young woman dressed in English clothing. She had mid-back bluish-black hair. When she realized he had an audience, she turned around to show a porcelain looking face with clod brown eyes, and a cruel smile displayed upon her lips. Everyone but Sango and Kagome gasped in surprise.
Kagome looked around and saw Kirara hissing at the young woman. Kagome looked at her aura and took a step back in surprise. It was extremely dark. It was tainted with hate, malice, vengeance, and cruelty. `She is a human, but her aura reminds me of Kikyo and Naraku!' Kagome thought.
<Kagome! That girl makes me feel uneasy!> Sango told Kagome through telepathy.
<Her aura is all malice and hate. It's as dark as Naraku's and Kikyo's aura!>
<NANI!?>
<Kirara can sense it to, Sango!>
<But Kagome, who is she?>
Kagome looked around at the others and saw their faces. <I don't know, Sango. However, I have a feeling they do!>
~To be continued.
Gin: Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Sorry about the cliffhanger. My sickness has slown down, and I broke my index finger on the hand I write with, halfway through this chapter. It's still broken, but it won't stop me from writing. Just in case you were wondering, I received while rebounding a shoot in basketball. Anyway that's some of the reasons I have been delayed.
Inu: You're so clumsy!
Gin: -_-*** (grabs a metal bat with her left hand `cause her right hand has a broken finger, and sends it down crashing it over Inu's head and at the exact same time Kagome screams `Sit'.)
Inu: x_x
Gin: Thanks Kagome! ^_^
Kag: No problem, besides you're injured.
Gin: I want to tell everyone that later on Inuyasha, Fluffy + co. will be reintroduced. And to find out who that woman is, though I'm pretty sure you already know, and what she will do, you're gonna hafta wait for the next chapter. Heheh. Anyway please R+R. Ja Ne.
