I don't own anything…
Here it is…
Despair: Inuyasha's despair…
I have lost everything. My heart, my soul, my will to live. I chose wrong. I went to her world and she is gone. My light, my fire, my soul is gone, because of me. This is all I deserve, all I ask for now. All I have is my darkness; she is the opposite of everything my fire was. She is cold and unforgiving in her will.
I chose wrong. All I have is the remnants of a whole soul, patched together with the cries of young women. No power on earth could bring her all back. Now she walks the earth with only half a life, and parts of her past.
Kagome is life to me. Kikyo is death. No more laughter, only tears. My tears are my only solace. And one day, maybe she will come back someday, my light.
Kyoto…
It was the end of another day for Kagome Higurashi as she made her way home. She had lost her job. Well, technically, Kagome had quit because her lovely boss decided to put his hands where they didn't belong. So the young Miko trudged home with a heavy heart and a lack of ambition. Passing a dark alleyway, Kagome was suddenly grabbed from the side. "Hey there, pretty thing. Wanna play?" a gruff voice taunted. Kagome tried to struggle and scream but she was backhanded down farther into the darkness of the alley. Landing on her back, Kagome tried to get away but the thug was one of those brutish types that were strong as an ox but slow-witted. The would-be rapist straddled Kagome's hips and started pawing at her top. Kagome finally managed to scream, feeling her powers awaken.
Hoping to blast the thug away, Kagome lifted her palm up to complete the thought when the thug's filthy words were interrupted by a gurgling grunt. Kagome looked up and saw a very dead thug fall towards her. Kagome scrambled out of under him just in time. A rush of wind swirled around the Miko and she suddenly felt herself slammed against the wall with a blade to her throat. There in front of her was the stranger she had run into the day before. But this time, Kagome put two and two together and gasped. The figure's amber eyes narrowed and he spoke, "
Yes, I am the Battousai. I was going to spare your life but now you know my face. You will die."
Kagome used an old move of Inuyasha's and ducked down just as Battousai's sword sliced the wall. Kagome began to run out of the alleyway but the Hitokiri was on her again in seconds. Grabbing a fistful of hair, the assassin went in for the kill. But then, Kagome's body became limp as a rag. Battousai blinked in surprise. His victims would usually panic and try to fight back. But this girl…she submitted to him. Dropping his former target on the ground, Battousai walked away. Kagome lay there in the alleyway for a while longer. Than, picking herself up, the Miko headed home, very shaken but very alive, knowing she should have died twice that night.
Sheesh! That's a lot of angst!
