In the Past: Chapter 2 Preparing Journey

Kagome awoke from that dream, but not scared or shocked of what she dreamt about. She awoke in a surprise though. When she started to get out of bed she saw blood red roses with a not attached to it. Kagome loved blood red roses. The lilies gave the roses depth. Then she took to the note and it read:

To my sweet maiden,

Ye art so beautiful in every way,

When ye walk into a room it lights up like the stars in the sky.

When e'er I see thee, ye make my heart break with happiness.

The flowers represent ye in every which way.

The white lilies represent your purity and happiness.

The blood red roses represent your beauty and grace.

I shall keep my name secret, but I will be with ye always.

Sincerely,

Your Harold

The letter she received amazed Kagome. Who could it be? She couldn't stop thinking that it was him. Her TRUE LOVE, the one that had her heart but no her body. Suddenly a knock came to the door and it spoiled the moment.

"Who is at thy's door," asked Kagome with a dazed look in her eyes.

"'Tis I milady, your maids are here to dress ye," replied the 1st maid.

"You may enter," responded Kagome who was upset because maids ruined her moment thinking about how romantic her true love was and always will be to her. When she was dress she read the note one last time before she went downstairs. She held it to her chest. Then she saw someone in the corner of her eye. It was her friend Naraku and the servant Kurabrawa, whose eyes widen at the letter by her breast. `She loved the note and the flowers I gave her,' he thought to himself and quickly moved his eyes to the ground with a small smile on his face.

"You look amazing in that green cotton gown. It brings out your pale skin beautifully," said Naraku.

"Thank you sir, for your remark it means a great deal to me. So what may I owe this visit to my dearest friend," said Kagome blushing at Naraku's' comment.

"A letter came form Chill Fool Valley for you. Kurabrawa, please give Lady Kagome the note, then you may leave," said Naraku.

Kurabrawa gave the note to Lady Kagome and started downstairs. Then Kagome called him back. He panicked because he thought she figured who the flowers where from him.

"Kurabrawa…" said Lady Kagome with her eyes looking straight at him.

Kurabrawa swallowed hard! Afraid he was going to get the worst off Lady Kagome.

"Kurabrawa…wait I will send a reply and I want you to send it yourself to the castle."

He let out a silent sigh so no one could hear it. He followed Lady Kagome into her room. He stayed at the door and waited till his lady was done. Lady Kagome sat down in her chair at her writing desk. She read the note:

Dear Princess Kagome,

I had a good time in your company and wish to spend more time in it.

I would like it if you stayed here, in Chill Fool Valley for a fortnight from today. Send a reply back with a messenger.

Sincerely,

Lady Sango

Kagome was pleased that she got a letter from Sango. So she got a piece of parchment and quill and wrote to her and the letter said:

Dear Lady Sango,

I will be honored to be there for a fortnight.

I also had a great time with you as well.

I shall arrive when the sky falls to the western sky.

Sincerely,

Princess Kagome

Kurabrawa was then handed the note and started his trail to Chill Fool Valley. `She loved the flowers and the note I left her' he thought to himself still remembering how she held the note to her breast so tight. He kicked his horse into a gallop and he was making a statement about how he felt with how fast he rode. Then he slowed the colt down around a mile and a half away from the Arcadia. Still with Lady Kagome on his mind.

Back at Arcadia Castle, Lady Kagome was entering the Great Hall.

"Hello Father, Mother. Ye look beautiful morning, Alyaanesia. Good morning dear brother," said Kagome happier than her normal self.

Everyone was looking at each other to see if anyone knew why Kagome was acting not like herself but more cheerful. Then her father, Prince Kenshin, took the liberty of asking her what had happened to get her in this most extraordinary mood.

"Why art thee so happy today for you are happy, but ne'er this happy," exclaimed Prince Kenshin.

"Well father, I got flowers and a note form a secret Harold. Also tonight I will leave for a fortnight. I will be at the Castle of Sesshomaru."

Kenshin's face lit up like the sun in the summer time. Everyone in the great hall who heard the news was excited. They thought that Lady Kagome finally found someone.

"Why may I ask art ye, daughter, going to the Castle of Sesshomaru?"

Everyone even the maids, servants, armed guards stopped doing what they were doing to listen to the answer, hoping that she found her courtier.

"I got summoned to the Castle. I wrote back a reply an sent it with Kurabrawa."

Everyone in the castle was disappointed, because they didn't get a yes, but still curious, because she didn't say no either. They went back to doing what they were doing before the questioned asked by Prince Kenshin. The royal family went back to eating their dinner.

It was mid-afternoon, when Kurabrawa arrived at Chill Fool Valley. He approached the castle.

"Who art thee? What is your purpose here," asked a man-at-arms?

"I'm Kurabrawa, a messenger from her highness, Princess Kagome. She has replied to Lady Sango's letter," replied Kurabrawa.

The guard nodded and the gate came down. Kurabrawa entered the castle's entrance gate. Senosuke was standing there waiting or him.

"Hello sir. I'm Senosuke, I will take you to Lady Sango, follow me," said Senosuke and started to walk.

Then in no time they arrived at Lady Sango's door. Senosuke's cheeks flustered a little. For he hasn't been in this room ever since Lady Sango turned into a maiden. Senosuke knocked on her door.

"Who is at thy's door," ask Lady Sango.

"'Tis I, Senosuke, in the company of highness Princess Kagome's messenger, Kurabrawa, Lady Sango."

"You may enter."

When Senosuke entered her room it is just how he remembered it. With the smell of soft lavender and roses and nothing was moved out of place. Senosuke held opened and Kurabrawa entered behind him and bowed to Lady Sango and hander her the letter. Lady Sango nodded in acknowledgment to Princess Kagome's letter. She looked at Kurabrawa.

"Kurabrawa, since she will be arriving soon you will stay in the servant quarters. You may help yourself to anything in the kitchen."

Then she turned to Senosuke and gave him some directions to follow.

" Senosuke, get the maids to set up the guest chamber and tell my father that we have a guest arriving in 3 hours,"

Senosuke and Kurabrawa bowed to Lady Sango and left the room.

Senosuke first showed Kurabrawa his quarters. When Senosuke opened the door to Kurabrawa's room, dust came off the floor, but the room was styled a little bit. Kurabrawa thought to himself `a little dirtier than the one at the Castle of Arcadia, but it will do.'

"Thank you, Senosuke. Can you point me in the direction of the kitchen?"

"You go straight down these corridors and take a right go a little more farther than take a left and there's the kitchen."

After he instructed Kurabrawa to the kitchen, he then instructed the maids to get the guest chamber ready for the guest. Then Senosuke started to find the Lord of the castle, Sesshomaru. He found the lord and lady of the castle talking to each other. Senosuke walked up to them and bowed.

"How can I help thee, Senosuke," asked Lord Sesshomaru.

"I send a message from your daughter, M'lord," replied Senosuke remembering the scent of her room and the scent on herself.

"Go on, Senosuke."

"Thy's daughter told me to tell you that there is a gust coming in 3 hours to when the sun hits the western sky, M'lord."

"Did my daughter tell you who is coming to visit us?"

"Your daughter told me not but if-."

"It's all right dear Senosuke, I trust whom ever my daughter has called a guest."

Senosuke bowed and left his Lord and Lady.

"Wife, I think you have work to do now."

I suspect that is true, M'lord, but let's wait a minute or two so we can just enjoy the peace and quite of our garden, shall me?"

One hour before this, Princess Kagome was packing and getting ready to leave. She pack 6 chemise, 10 bodices, 12 gowns, 2 petticoats, and 3 pairs of shoes. She also stuck in Fencing far she had. She asked if Naraku and a man at arms could carry her 2 boxes full of clothing. She was taking 2 maids with her and they were her lady in waiting, Boton and her assistant, Keiko. They approached the carriage Boton and Keiko entered the carriage to wait for their mistress.

"Father, I shall be back in a fortnight. I'll send you a letter as soon as I arrive at Chill fool Valley," said Kagome and gave her father a hug.

"My dear, Kagome, bring us home a suitor for you," joked her sister, Alyaanesia, Kagome slugged her in the arm.

"Come malady we will be late," yelled Boton.

Kagome nodded and said her good-byes to her family and friends. Before she reached the carriage Naraku came in front of her and hander her a dagger.

"Just in case, " Naraku said to Kagome confused then got it.

She took the dagger and put it into her skirt pocket then left for the carriage. Kurama helped her into the carriage and Kagome turned to him.

" Watch over my sister, Kurama."

"I shall malady," replied Kurama with a tender look in his soft green eyes and handsome face.

She entered the carriage with her maids and headed off towards Chill Fool Valley.
