Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ Falling Back ❯ Pain from the Past ( Chapter 2 )
Disclaimer: Rurouni Kenshin and Smaurai X do not belong to me sadly. But Ame's dojo does…
A/N, from Ame to readers: I'm so sad…a few people have taken the time to read my fanfic yet nobody reviews! *tears stream down face* I feel so unloved. I know I said I needed reviews for encouragement but I just had an idea for romance and I had to write. So this time read enjoy and please review I need your help/encouragement/
hatred…whatever you want to give me. Without it I'm lost in the sea of my thoughts…and that's not a place you want to be!
Narrator:
A few moments after deciding what to do Kenji raises his sword and brings it down hard on Enishi's shoulder. This happens before Enishi can even realize Kenji's intentions and is completely knocked out. Enishi's body goes slack, as he falls into Kenji's arms. Kenji then proceeds to swing him up onto his shoulder and run, with god-like speed no less, to Morsere Street. When he arrives there he enters the castle-like structure and is immediately questioned by the guards. He gives them only a seconds glance, but they back off right away seeing the unfamiliar glare of a true samurai in his eyes.
Kenji:
Looks like Yokoshiro is pretty well off. Since we're here I might as well find a room for us to conference in. A library perhaps? A man of his stature should be able to afford it, even if he would only have it for show.
Narrator:
Kenji sets Enishi down in a nearby chair and goes in search f a library. He goes through at least 30 rooms before he comes upon a set of humungous oak doors. Steam seeped into the hallway from underneath the doors and he hears a voice. The voice of a girl, but she was singing a song of farmers. This surprises Kenji for nobody living with upper class status would ever know that kind of a song. Out of surprise, curiosity, and utter stupidity he enters the bathing room. Through the misty air he sees the outline of a body.
Kenji:
She's amazing. I've seen plenty of naked women in my time, (A/N, from Ame to all: Yeah he's a player!) but she's probably one of the most beautiful. I'd even go so far as to say that I'd place her in my top ten. I have never seen a woman with white silver hair likes hers, at least not one this young…I wonder what color her eyes are. *His breath catches as she turns slightly more to the left.* Wow, I wasn't expecting her to have such a filled out body. She may sound like a younger girl but now I can see she is definitely not a child. The way the water drips off her skin is so hypnotizing. Now if only she'd turn around completely…
Narrator:
The young woman whipped around when she heard someone's feet shuffling. She spotted Kenji and once the realization of him there kicked in, she let out an ear-piercing scream. (A/N, Ame to self: Somewhere in another realm Inu Yasha falls over clutching his highly sensitive ears.) He was gone before she even began to make noise and that's when she wondered if she had seen him before. The servants rushed in moments later and asked her if she was hurt. She was so confused as to what had happened, yet something compelled her to keep the red-haired man a secret.
"I saw a bug, sorry to worry you all. Now if you could leave me to finish up here? Don't worry I'll be fine on my own," and with that she dismissed the lot of them. She then dried off, got dressed, and went downstairs to met Enishi for mid-day tea.
In the mean time, Kenji had found the library. He sat there for a few minutes to catch his breath. He stayed alert, afraid that someone would find him after the girl blew his cover. He smiled when she came to mind, but seconds later realized that he had a purpose in this mansion. He calmed himself and went back to where he had put Enishi, only to find that he was gone. Fortunately he heard voices from the hall and proceeded towards them. He soon recognized one of the voices as Enishi's so he made his way into the enormous ballroom from which the voices had come. Set up in the middle of the vast empty space was a lone table and seated at it were Enishi and the young woman from the baths. She was wearing a purple kimono the played off of her purple eyes. Upon seeing her Kenji found that he could not move for a few seconds. But before anyone could discover the trance he was in, Enishi broke it by speaking.
Enishi:
I have a feeling that there is a significant reason for him knocking me out, so for now I will allow him to speak. However I seem to be forced to anyway for neither I nor my men seem to possess the strength required to beat him.
"Kenji, do you care to explain yourself? Or will I have to have you arrested for trespassing upon my property?...Ah, I'm just teasing my friend, please take a seat. As Kenshin's son you are welcome here if your reasons are valid. Perhaps you can explain them to me after this afternoon's tea. *Kenji nods.* By the way I'd like to introduce you to my younger sister. (A/N, from Ame to people who are kind enough to help: I need a name for her, otherwise I'll have t call her Blah. But I think that may take away from future romantic scenes…so a little help would be much appreciated!) She'll be serving us tea and will join us for today." *Kenji makes eye contact with her and doesn't break it when he bows before her, she blushes and turns away in embarrassment.*
Why is she blushing? Has she met him before?...No that's impossible! I've had her locked up in this mansion so nobody could take her from me, like they did with Tomoe. What am I saying? I myself make sure she cannot leave this place and Kenji just got here today. Thus it is impossible for their meeting to have occurred…Oh, she must be shy, it is not often that she gets to interact with strangers.
Narrator:
The three of them sat through tea and Enishi was the only one to speak. He explained to his sister that Kenji was traveling to find out more about his father, Kenshin Himura. After tea the younger one excused herself and allowed the men to speak. Kenji explained his need for privacy was why he had hit Enishi and rendered him unconscious. Enishi listened to him, but still thought his actions rash.
Ame:
My little Kenji is impulsive, huh? That's okay it's cute!
Narrator:
Enishi invited Kenji to stay the night and said that they would speak more in the morning. Kenji didn't sleep but instead went to room to train. He realized he was being watched but pretended not to notice. He smirked at the idea of toying with the little spy.
The young woman watched in amusement as Kenji practiced his sword play. After a few hours he began to get sweaty, so he removed his shirt. Her breath caught in her chest as she openly started at his slick body covered in a thin sheen of sweat. Disgusted with herself, moments later, she decided to do something about it.
"Hey you!" she exclaimed as she revealed herself from the shadows, "Do you want to spar? I promise I won't beat you…too badly."
Kenji:
This could be interesting *smirks*…but I wonder what Enishi would say, after all he is my host…oh, who the hall cares!?!...I'll have to go easy on her, don't want to scar the pretty body or shed her blood, at least not too much of it. *Smirks a bit more evilly.* Sure, this will make today a little bit better.
"Okay little one, I'll take you on…that is if you think you can handle me."
Narrator:
She slowly removed her kimono to reveal an oversized shirt and a pair of baggy pants.
"I'll have to warn you to be fair, I'm better than I look," she admitted with a sly smile.
"And there you were at lunch pretending to by shy in front of Enishi. Ha! LET'S GO!" He lunged at her at quarter speed and she openly laughed at him as she quite easily avoided his blade. She was so much faster than he had expected that he was taken back by her skill.
"You underestimate me Himura. I may be a girl but being locked in this place everyday what else am I supposed to do but train? Why don't you stop fooling with me and take me on for real. *Kenji smiles at her intelligence.* Or if you're too scared you'll hurt me, why don't you at least increase your speed to fifty percent?" Kenji was completely appalled that this girl could learn so much about him from just one lunge. He watched, bemused, as she crouched and held her katanas in a position similar to that of gatotsu, except instead of one blade she possessed two. It was unlike any style he had ever seen before and he assumed that she herself had invented it. He then realized that he really had underestimated her. One katana was held upside down above her head and the other was held upright at her waist. Both weapons were pointed directly at Kenji. Her hair covered her face and even though he could not see her he refused to attack. He knew she had the upper hand. She was using a technique he had not seen before and therefore he did not know its weaknesses. She whipped her long silver hair out of her face and said in a dangerous voice, "Let's go."
Kenji positioned himself for a sword draw and ran towards her at half-speed. He drew his sword and in one smooth motion she countered him with the katana that was once above her head, side stepped, and thrust with her other blade. He moved in what he thought was just in time. But she had grazed his stomach and a thin red line appeared across it. They both smiled at each other and then separated back to their stances. The girl chose to remain in the same position, Kenji however did not sheath his sword as he had before. Instead he positioned it at a 45 degree angle, held in both his hands, pointed towards her. This time he ran from the left but his image appeared as to be approaching from both the left and the right at once. Before the girl could realize that he had upped his speed to 75%, she backed up in confusion. Suddenly she felt his sword against her neck and his hard sweaty body pressed up against her shirt. She dropped both her weapons in defeat, yet his hold on her didn't falter.
"How did y-"
"Shh," he protested. He slowly lowered his head to her neck and smelt the hair that clung to her sweaty skin. She began to get nervous as he rubbed his face against her.
"Your name, tell me, what is your name?" he growled. With that he spun her around to face him. He looked into her eyes and put his face inches away from hers.
"Don't make me repeat myself," he said, this time his voice filled with a little anger and lust. She began to shake in fear and just as he was leaning in to kiss her the doors slammed open. Disappointed Kenji let go of her and looked up to see who had interrupted.
"KENJI!!!" Enishi was bright red and his veins seemed as if the were going to burst. He approached Kenji sword in hand at a fast pace. When he got to Kenji he took his unarmed hand and grabbed his shirt. Nose to nose with the much younger boy he said through gritted teeth, "What the hell are you doing with my sister?!?" He threw Kenji to the ground and then stepped into the middle of the room. "Looks like I'm going to have to teach you how to behave in my house!" he yelled with an anger that surprised even Kenji. The girl ran to the corner and sat down, ready to watch what felt like it was going to be an intense upcoming battle.
"Listen Enishi," Kenji said kindly with his hands up, "Nothing happened here, I was just training her. You want her to be able to defend herself don't you?"
"YES, but from men like you! She is off limits! I let you into my house and THIS is how you repay me!?!" Enishi screamed.
Kenji replied with a smirk, "Hey if you've locked her in here for so long there's nothing I can do if she comes onto to me. It's understandable. Besides she's a bit too inexperienced for my tastes anyways."
In a range unlike any Kenji had seen before, Enishi stared him down with pure hatred. "Don't you EVER talk about my sister like you could have her. She's better than you, and I WILL PROTECT HER!" With those last few words Enishi charged at Kenji his sword in hand.
Kenji:
Damn it all! This wasn't supposed to happen, why do women always get in my way? Urgh looks like I'll have to let Enishi have his way! I need him in order to find out more about Kenshin, besides I can always have her *glances at the girl* later.
Narrator:
Enishi continually stabbed at Kenji, but Kenji easily avoided all his attacks, hoping to wear down his anger. However this did only the opposite, it enticed Enishi and caused his anger to escalate making him into a sudden threat. Kenji realized that he would have to fight Enishi or at least block his attack long enough for him to convince him to stop his maddened rampage.
He grabbed Enishi's sword and held it in his hand, letting his blood drip onto the wooden floor. "Listen Enishi, I'm truly sorry for what I have done. I forgot where I was and will refrain from doing anything of the such in the future. Seeing as that this is your house I will succumb to any punishment you feel is necessary." He said solemnly as he let go of Enishi's sword and dropped to his knees.
Enishi still only saw red and raised his sword in anger as he planned to kill Kenji. Realizing what was about to happen his young sister stepped in front of the kneeling Kenji and looked pleadingly at her brother. "It's my fault Enishi, I wanted to spar with him. I won't let it happen again, I'm truly sorry. Please, do not allow my eyes to witness his blood spilled upon the floor tonight, I will keep him in check and not allow it to happen again."
"First Kenshin took Tomoe from me, there is no way I'll let you take her now!" Enishi said angrily, but it seemed that he was now more in control of his anger. He walked past his sister and pulled Kenji to his feet. He roughly pushed him away and turned around and said, "We'll speak in the morning, for now just go to your room." Not hearing any movement from behind him he yelled, "GO!" Kenji decided that this man's help was absolutely necessary so he followed his orders. He quickly looked at the distraught girl, smiled, and left the room.
After the doors had closed behind Kenji, Enishi's shoulders began to shake as he broke down. His sister ran into his awaiting arms. "Not again," he said, "Not you too! I just ca-an't lo-ose you both…please, sister, don't let himura take you from me…please." They collapsed to the floor and she comforted him in silence all the while thinking to herself. She thought that if not for Enishi that she just may have let Kenji have his way with her. She thought once again of how their encounter had made her shiver in delight, but then immediately pushed the thoughts out of her head for Enishi's sake. He needed her and it was her duty to be there for him…The two of them remained on the floor in each others' arms and right before Enishi fell asleep crying he said, "Please, please don't leave me, don't leave me like she did."
A/N, from Ame to readers: YAY! I got my first review today. I was so happy that I sat down and finished the chapter as quickly as I could. See what reviews do for me! Well to answer some of the questions posed, yes Kenji is a hottie and deserves girls. He looks just like our favorite Kenshin, except younger. If you haven't seen Samurai X then I guess you don't know what happened to Kenshin. It was sooo good that I don't want to ruin it for you so please rent it, otherwise leave me your email address. That way I can give it to you without ruining it for others. Don't worry it will all make more sense as I go along! Until next time!
