REINCARNATED

Saito arrived at the hotel in time to see the four fugitives ducking into a cab.

*Dammit.* Annoyed, he followed them all the way to the airport, where they got out, were introduced to a very large man, got his bags and got back into the cab.

*What the hell is this?* He glanced down at the fax on the seat beside him. *Hmmm. . . might be his father. . .Hiko Seijuro, 33rd master of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu. Interesting. I wonder why the son isn't following in his father's foot steps.*

The cab drove away, a curious but still irritated Saito in pursuit.

*~*

"Is he still following us?" Aoshi asked, using Misao's makeup mirror to see behind his head. Because Master Hiko wanted to sit up front, Misao was happily riding in his lap. She was happy, but Aoshi was only sure of two things: first, if he didn't get a cold shower soon, he would not be responsible for his actions and second, if Misao didn't stop wiggling and bouncing, he would not be responsible for his actions.

"Yes," Kaoru sounded annoyed. "The Wolf still stalks. Tell me, if he's really so wolf-like, shouldn't he have run us off by now?"

Aoshi smirked. "More likely it would just be me."

"Miss Saito," Master Hiko's baritone cut off the other conversation.

"Yes, sir?"

"If I may, how did you meet my son? You're not old enough to run in his circles."

"DAD!"

"Anata." She put he hand on his arm, stalling his words. "We met . . .through an

accident of fate."

Aoshi smirked again, but she ignored him and kept looking at Master Hiko. His

eyebrow arched.

"I don't believe in fate. Kenshin, if Miss Saito is here, where is Tomoe?" He

glanced back at his son, who was holding hands with a frowning Kaoru.

"At home, I suppose. We broke it off; she admitted that she loved someone else."

He kissed the inside of Kaoru's wrist. "Like me; but unlike me, she hid it very well."

Kaoru smiled at his words.

"How old are you, Miss Saito?"

"I'll be 20 tomorrow," she was till gazing at Kenshin.

"Oh, well, then I suppose it's aright then." Kenshin frowned slightly at the

sarcasm in his father's voice. "Kenshin, why exactly am I here?"

"Because the wedding still on," Aoshi's voice indicated that this should have been

obvious. He put his hands around Misao's waist to hold her still. Her delicious little

bottom rubbing against him was pure hell. He wanted her to stop before he disgraced

himself.

"Misao," his lips were nearly in her ear, but Kenshin and Kaoru were still looking

at each other and Master Hiko was discussing the merits of warm sake vs. cold with the

driver.

"Do you feel that, against your bottom?" She nodded. "Well, it's going to get

worse before it gets better if you don't stop fidgeting and sit still."

"What if I don't want to? She teased.

His hands around her waist tightened. "I'll make you sit on the seat."

She stopped wiggling and he concentrated on willing himself to relax. *Sorry,

guys, false alarm.*

"Maybe I should have worn a skirt," Misao mused aloud in English. Aoshi

groaned quietly, and Kaoru whipped around to gape at her tiny friend in amused horror.

"Nah, the point was to arouse interest, not insight a rape."

"WHAT?!" Aoshi couldn't stop the exclamation from coming out.

Misao leaned over. "It wouldn't have been rape." Aoshi, Kenshin and Hiko

exchanged looks, and both girls laughed out loud.

*~*

They finally arrived at Hiko's house and after paying off the cab, Aoshi and

Kenshin helped him carry the bags in. Neither Saito or his car were nowhere in sight

when Kenshin came back to lock the tall wooden gates for the night.

Aoshi and Kaoru had been expecting a traditional Japanese style house,

but were pleasantly surprised to see that Master Hiko's home was in the western style.

When they got inside and had a look around, Kenshin and Aoshi decided they could stand

to share a room for one night, as there were only three bedrooms. The girls protested

loudly, but the boy were adamant.

"Now, just hang on," Kaoru grumbled. "You're my brother. I think we can safely

share a room. Besides, Kenshin isn't any more interested in Misao that Master Hiko is in

me. Come on!"

"Fine!" Aoshi threw up his hands and gave in. "Whatever!"

Kenshin showed them the rooms, then left the siblings arguing over who got what

side of the room. He went to the attic to hunt up some old t-shirts for the girls to sleep in.

He was up to his elbows in discarded clothes when his father's vice startled him.

"Kenshin." He jumped and glanced back at his parent.

"Yes, sir."

"What did you say to Tomoe to get her to break up with you? When you called

me last night, you could hardly get the words out."

"I . . .got her to admit she liked someone else." He wasn't sure what else to say. It

was sort of the truth.

"Who?"

"Someone else from work." Kenshin continued sorting thorough his old clothes.

Hiko moved out of the door way and sat in front of his son on a trunk.

"I though she would have had her fill of you lawyer types."

"Dad, he's a computer programmer."

"Ah, so she did."

Kenshin huffed, slightly annoyed. "Whatever. I'm out, that's all that matters.

Kaoru-dono is all I need."

"Yes . . .about the Miss Saito."

"What about her?" Kenshin finally found a shirt Misao could wear without it

wearing her. He began looking for something for Kaoru.

"She's . . . a little . . . .young."

Kenshin considered this. She was older now than when he'd met her the first time,

but so was he. She'd admitted her father hadn't let her into college yet, but he had a

decent job that paid quite well. He could more than afford to send her to school or

whatever it was she wanted to do.

"Perhaps." He found a shirt for Kaoru and laid it aside to begin folding the things

he'd pulled out and rejected. "But let us worry about that, okay Dad?"

"Sure. I just hope you know what you're doing."

Kenshin smiled slightly. "Well, hell, maybe in our next life she'll be older than me."

Hiko smirked and rose. "Just be careful, Kenshin." He went and Kenshin stood up.

*I love you too, Dad.*
