Chapter Three: Don't Worry
(Chapter Genre's: Other)
(A/N: Yet another respectful review. I thank you. Since this story just got another review, it will get another chapter. Here's the deal. For any of my previous fanfic's that I haven't updated that gets a review, I will update, even the ones with “I'm not continuing” on them. So pick your favourites (or all) and review. That sounds fare, right? Unless there's a review, the story remains dead.)
Kanami burst into Ms Hanabishi's house. She looked frantically around.
“Ms Hanabishi! Hey! Help me please!” she cried out. It didn't take long for Ms Hanabishi to walk into the room.
“What ever is the matter, dear?” she asked. Kanami ran over.
“It's Aura, she fell over and I think she's very sick.” Kanami panicked. She handed the small girl over and Ms Hanabishi analysed her. Aura was breathing heavily and sweating a lot.
Ms Hanabishi took Aura into the living room and placed her on the settee with a cushion. She was going to ask Kanami to run and get Mimori, who had not long ago left, but she decided to get her herself.
“Kanami, you wait here and fan Aura down, make sure she isn't too hot.” She told her. She then ran off to find Mimori.
Meanwhile, Kanami fanned down Aura with one of the decoration fans that was once on the wall.
“What's wrong with you?” Kanami whispered in panic. “I don't get it. You were fine before. What happened?” Kanami was really worried.
“I… feel really sick.” Aura whispered to Kanami, since she didn't seem to have the strength to speak aloud. Kanami was nearly in tears. This girl wasn't with her long, but she seemed to have made a connection with her.
It wasn't too long before Ms Hanabishi came back with Mimori. Mimori ran over to the little girl on the sofa.
“What happened to her?” Mimori asked.
“I don't know, we were going home and she suddenly collapsed.” Kanami said in a panic. He boss walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders.
“Let's go into the kitchen and let Mimori look at her, okay?” she suggested.
“No! I can't leave her like that!” Kanami protested.
“It might make it easier.” Her boss told her. Kanami waited for a bit, but gave in otherwise. The two went into the kitchen. Kanami walked over to the kitchen side and rested her hands on the top. “So, what happened?” Her boss asked.
“I told you! We were going home and she fell over.” Kanami said, rather harshly. Ms Hanabishi knew she was only worried, so she shook it off.
“Kanami…” Hanabishi hesitated. Kanami turned around.
“…Is something wrong?” Kanami asked.
“Nothing… its nothing.” She replied. Mimori walked out of the room.
“This is the same illness you had once Kanami, so I'll give her some medicine and she'll be as right as rain.” She said. Kanami sighed in relief.
“That's good then.” She said.
“You had this, Kanami?” Ms Hanabishi asked.
“Yeah… it was that day I didn't show up to work without telling you a few years ago.” Kanami said.
“Oh.”
“I was getting ready for work when I suddenly felt faint. I tried to ignore it and come to work, but I passed out just at my front door. If Kazu-kun didn't come home, I probably would have died. He took me to a doctor, who didn't know what was wrong and then found Mimori. She saved me.” Kanami said.
“I see.” Ms Hanabishi said. “Well, you'd better get that medicine then… Mimori?” Hanabishi looked around the kitchen for her. She walked in the door. “Where'd you go?” She asked.
“To… get the medicine.” Mimori said. She walked in the other room to apply the medicine. Kanami looked to the ground.
“What's the matter, Kanami?” Ms Hanabishi asked, looking over to her.
“No… Nothing…” Kanami sniffled. Ms Hanabishi walked over. “I just don't want my baby to grow up without a dad.” Kanami lifted her hands to her face and began crying. Ms Hanabishi cuddled her for comfort. Kanami cried into her for a few minutes.
Later, Kanami had left Aura to rest at Ms Hanabishi's and gone home. She walked up to the door of her house and searched her pockets for her Keys.
“I know I had them in here a minute a go.” Kanami muttered as she searched. Suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind.
“You that bitch who took Aura away! I'm going to kill you!” the person said as he got an arm around Kanami's neck and began strangling her. Kanami resisted and tried to get his arm off her neck, so she could breathe, but he was too strong. Kanami felt her lift beginning to drift away from her as her arms began to feel numb.
“Hey!” A guy called from somewhere. The man turned to looked, but suddenly was knocked away. Kanami fell to the floor, unconscious.
Kanami woke up and looked around. Her neck was hurting pretty badly, but she noticed she was in her house. She shot up and looked around.
“What… happened?” She asked herself.
“You were being mugged as far as I could see.” Someone said. Kanami turned to face the person.
“Who… who are you?” She asked.
“I don't have a name.” The man replied.
“What should I call you then?” Kanami asked.
“Anything you want.” Kanami didn't reply. “I have to apologize, you stopped breathing, so I had to give you CPR.” He said. Kanami flushed quickly and looked away.
“Thank you… for saving me.”
“Hey…” the man called. “If you want, call me Jin. Most people do anyway.” He said to her.
“Is that your name?” she asked.
“No. I haven't one. That's just what people call me.” Jin walked towards the door. “Just encase those people come back, I'm going to keep an eye on you.” Jin told her. He walked out of the door and left. Kanami sat straight.
“This is getting too much. Why can't Kazu-kun come home?” She asked herself.
(Sorry it's short, but I'm running slim on ideas for this story, that's why it took so long. Thanks for reviewing though.)
