Chapter 12

The Fire of Mars: Part 1

******Kouga’s POV******

Now we have another sailor senshi in our group. I’m assuming that our group will only get bigger as time goes by.

We are camping out around a fire by a forest. We are continuing our search for Naraku.

Makoto cooked the hunt that Inuyasha and I brought back. It tasted amazing to say the least! Currently, my woman is trying to get to know Makoto better.

“So Makoto, where did you learn to cook like that,” Cynthia asked.

“Yes, the food was delicious,” the monk said. Makoto just glared at him. I don’t think she still has gotten over him asking her to ‘bear his child’ and the groping afterwards. I’m keeping note to keep him away from my woman or I’ll have to kill him. It’ll be shame, considering that he’s an ok guy.

She continued with Cynthia,” I learned from my mother and I taught myself most things after she died.” The last part about her mother makes her sigh of sadness.

“I’m sorry I brought it up,” Cynthia says.

“No, it’s alright. Don’t worry yourself about it,” she assures her.

“About how old are you,” Kagome asks trying to change the subject.

“15, why,” she asks.

“No reason. You’re the same age as me and Cynthia then,” Kagome says cheerfully. Makoto smiled back.

“Would you like to take a bath with us, Mako-chan? You don‘t mind if I call you that do you,” Cynthia then asked.

“Oh no, not at all. I like the sound of that name…‘Mako-chan.’ Sure, a bath sounds good,” Makoto says.

“C’mon then. Sango you coming,” Kagome asks.

“Sure,” the tajiya responds after throwing glare at the monk, who was trying to feign innocence.

The neko-youkai, Luna, and kitsune were sleeping with Ginta and Hakkaku who were supposed to keep watch. I punch both of their heads so they wake up.

They both rubbed the back of their heads. “What was that for,” they both hollered.

“You bakas are supposed to keep watch, not sleep,” I growl. The turned in my direction and said.

“K...Kouga,” Hakkaku asked, scared.

“We didn’t know that was you,” Ginta said nervously. I roll my eyes and walk away from them. Inuyasha looked like he was trying to hold in his laughter.

******Cynthia’s POV******

We were in the hot springs discussing upcoming events. We also explain Naraku and our search for the Shikon-no-Kakara to Makoto.

“I think I need to go home soon. It’s been over a month or so since I last saw my family. My mom‘s going to kill me, if she doesn‘t already think I‘m dead by now,” I say.

“What do you mean,” Mako-chan asked.

“Me and Kagome-chan live 500 years in the future. We get through time by use of the Bone Eater’s Well,” I explain.

“I never thought of that. I’m sorry about not going back. I should have thought about you. It’s just that you so busy with Kouga,” Kagome stuttered out.

“It’s nothing. I forgot too. I’m sure you can help study for the mounds of tests I missed,” I sigh.

“Excuse me, but what are tests,” Mako-chan asked.

“They test your academic skills in school. Me and Kagome have to go to school and we can’t get careers if we don’t study and pass these,” I say.

“Kagome-chan, you were gone as long as Cynthia-chan so you have a lot of tests to make up as well,” Sango explained.

Kagome sighed heavily,” I guess you’re right. After we get leads on Naraku, we both go back ok? That should give us enough time to study.”

“Right. I just thought of something. We had that history project due from long ago. We haven’t even started on it yet!”

“Oh no,” she groaned. Both girls looked at us in confusion.

“We better get started tonight then. You have books don’t you,” I ask.

“Yea…” We finished our baths quickly and hurriedly ran to our camp to start studying.

“What are you doing,” Kouga asks us.

“We are studying for school,” I say.

“What’s school?”

“I’ve been with Kagome for this long and I still don’t understand it, so a baka wolf like you can‘t even begin to comprehend it,” Inuyasha huffs, crossing his arms in the tree he was in. Kagome rolls her eyes at him.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean mutt?! I bet you don’t even know what ‘comprehend’ means,” he sneered.

Inuyasha jumped out of the tree, his temper rising. “Maybe today, you should die!”

“Not if I can kill you first,” Kouga retaliates. Inuyasha grabs the hilt of Tetsusaiga, ready to duel.

Me and Kagome got really ticked off because we were studying. “Mind if I handle this,” I ask.

She shakes her head and says,” It’s all yours.”

I get in-between them both and they stop growling to stare at me. “Get out of the way Cynthia. He has it coming to him,” Kouga snarls.

“And here I thought that you would get along better with the competing over Kagome done and over with. Me and Kagome are studying and we need concentration. If you don’t quiet down, I can do worse things to you than her osuwaris,” I growl, glaring primarily at Kouga. He instantly flinches. Inuyasha gets scared also. “That goes for you too Inuyasha. I’m sure neither of you would want to be moon dust.” They back off and go sit separately at the opposite ends of the camp, muttering under their breaths.

“Wow I’m impressed,” Kagome says. Sango and Mako-chan sits besides us.

“That was nice. It even scared Houshi-sama,” Sango said grinning.

“Thanks. Mako-chan - first rule in this group. You have to know how to scare the men,” I explain,” Though you did a fine job with Miroku the other day.” Makoto smirks and nods her in head in understanding.

Ginta and Hakkaku were still cowering, having listened to our conversation. The rest of them eventually fell asleep, leaving Kouga, Inuyasha, Ginta, Hakkaku, Kagome, and I awake. Luna would to be proud of me right now. Me studying…

Kouga walks over to me, sensing me being tired. “Hey, Cynthia, why don’t you come to bed?”

“Sorry prince, but me and Kagome have to get most of this done tonight. We don’t know when we’ll have to battle Naraku and it could be any day now.”

“Why is this ‘school’ so important?”

“If I don’t graduate, I’ll have no future. My mom would totally freak if I dropped out. I at least have to finish high school and I‘m only in middle school now.”

“But you’re my mate. You don’t need this ‘school’ to make a living. I’ll support us.”

“I know, but I want to do it for my mom. She doesn’t even know I have a mate now. I‘m studying now because I‘ll have to go back with Kagome to our time pretty soon.”

“NANI,” he shouts, almost waking the whole camp up.

“Shhh…quiet down. I’ll be back in a week with Kagome. We aren’t even going to be leaving until we get leads on Naraku.”

“You’re not going anywhere without me to protect you!”

So this is how Kagome must feel when Inuyasha tells her that she can’t go home… “I won’t be in danger. Our home doesn’t have youkai there, remember?”

“But I’ll miss you too much,” he whines.

“Hey could you two love birds cut it out?! You’re making me sick and I’m trying to sleep here,” Inuyasha barks grumpily.

Kouga retorts,” Well it’s not my fault I have a mate to protect and you don’t.”

“Why you…”

“Guys cut it out,” Kagome says in a loud whisper. “We can discuss this tomorrow. Why don’t we all go back to bed.”

“Alright. We’ll study tomorrow,” I sigh. We all finally go to sleep, leaving Ginta and Hakkaku awake as watchers.

The next morning, we were packing up camp at the break of dawn. After starting on the path, Inuyasha and Kouga pick up a familiar scent.

“Naraku is here,” Inuyasha growls. I go behind a tree and transform with Makoto.

“MOON CRYSTAL POWER, MAKE-UP!”

“JUPITER POWER, MAKE-UP!”

We caught up with the rest of them. Jupiter opened her eyes in shock.

“That’s Naraku,” she asks meekly, pointing at the dark haired youkai, battling the rest with his tentacles.

“Yep, unfortunately,” I sigh. “Let’s go.”

“Right,” she nods. “SUPREME THUNDER,” she shouts, sending out her lightning bolts at him, breaking his barrier. He gets the hit and widens his eyes in surprise.

He regenerates and looks at us. “Ah, nice to see you again Sailor Moon. There is another one of your kind?”

“That’s right. I’m Sailor Jupiter and today you die,” Jupiter shouts at him.

“On the contrary. I’m here not only for the shards, but for the Silver Crystal as well.”

My eyes opened in shock. “Y…you know?!”

“I have watching you for awhile thanks to Kanna’s mirror. I know all about how you and the wolf are reincarnations of the princess and prince I once killed.”

“You?! You were the bastard that killed us,” Kouga shouted in anger. His anger got the best of him and he charged at Naraku, trying to kick him. He only kicked one tentacle off and another regrew in its place grabbing a hold of his leg.

“KOUGA,” I shout.

“Maybe its time that I take those shards out of your legs by ripping them off,” Naraku sneered.

“HIRAIKOTSU,“ Out of nowhere Sango boomerang bone flew in and cut off the tentacle the held Kouga’s leg. Kouga flipped out and shouted a thanks to Sango who was on Kirara.

“Naraku, you disgust me,” Inuyasha sneers. “You going to die! KAZE NO KIZU!” He brought down Tetsusaiga and the attack dismembered most of his tentacles. Kagome sent one of her arrows after the attack. Naraku let out a hideous laugh as he reformed his body parts.

“Damn, he just keeps regrowing them back,” Inuyasha growls in frustration.

Meanwhile, Sango and Miroku were busy battling through the other half of his tentacles.

“This has to be the real Naraku,” Miroku shouts, tearing tentacles down with this staff.

“Get out of the way,” I shout. They comply and me and Jupiter decides to merge our attacks.

“SUPREME THUNDER,” Sailor Jupiter shouts.

Soon after, I follow up, swinging my scepter and shouting,” MOON PRINCESS HALATION!”

We succeed in destroying most of him. The attack proved futile as he regrew still. Naraku then stuck his tentacles under the ground and started shooting them up in random places. One surprised Sailor Jupiter and went through her arm. She shouted out in pain and dropped on the ground, holding her arm in a grimace.

Another shot up in front of Miroku and knocked him a few feet away, rendering him unconscious.

“HOUSHI-SAMA,” Sango shouts, and rushes to him on Kirara. The neko-youkai then picks his body up fly into the air before more came out.

Inuyasha grabs Kagome and slashes through the tentacles in his way, with his sword. Kouga does the same with me, instead he runs with his incredible speed and dodges them all. He them jumps up and kicks the unsuspecting Naraku in the head. That only serves at making Naraku angry.

“You’ve been in my way long enough wolf. Its time that I kill you and your mate once again,” he shouts, sneaking up on us with another tentacle. It throws us a few hundred feet away. We land in the dirt hard.

“DAMN YOU BASTARD,” Inuyasha shouts, “KAZE NO KIZU!” It destroys the tentacles that were all in our ways.

Me and Kouga get up in pain. I struggle to my feet and help him up. He takes off trying for a punch on Naraku. Inuyasha lands and puts Kagome on the ground. I run up beside Kagome.

Catching me by surprise, one of Naraku’s tentacles rips my brooch from my outfit, causing me to detransform and drop to the ground in pain. He takes the brooch into his possession.

“SAILOR MOON,” Kouga shouts at me. Naraku tosses Kouga aside like he was an ant.

He laughs,” So Sailor Moon, is no other than a weak human girl?! No matter, I have the Silver Crystal now!”

Kagome aims an arrow towards Naraku’s head,” DIE!” The arrow cuts his face and he instantly glares at her.

“You think that little arrow will stop me, now that I have this,” he sneers, holding up my brooch. The Silver Crystal started to glow dark and tainted.

“NO,” I shout. Naraku knocks me away and Inuyasha as well. Inuyasha had a tentacle go through through his chest.

“INUYASHA,” Kagome shouted. She glares at Naraku in anger. “You bastard! You’re going to die now!”

Suddenly, her forehead starts to glow red. As I look closer, I am in shock. On her forehead is the familiar mark of Mars! Luna, who is in hiding, looks in shock too. Kagome is Sailor Mars?!
