Cynthia: Thanks for keeping me hanging. Mom’s gonna kill me!

******Cynthia’s POV******

“Oh no…is she here,” I ask meekly.

Before Kagome’s mom answered, a pair of strong arms embraced me so tight I couldn’t breathe. “CYNTHIA! We were so worried about you! Don‘t you ever do that to us again!” She stepped back and glanced at my messed up outfit. “What happed to you,” she asked more gently.

“Mom, I have a lot to tell you and the rest,” I say to her. We walk into Kagome’s living room and I begin to tell her about what happened since I passed through the well.

Chapter 14

Cynthia’s Parents and Kouga’s Attempt

******Cynthia’s POV******

After explaining what happened within the past month, I sat back and braced myself for the punishment I was about to receive. I didn’t quite tell them about me and Kouga being mates yet. I just told them that Kouga was a friend. Mom, Dad, and Sammy all stared at me like I grew two heads.

“Let me get this straight, you expect us to believe that you were gone in another time for a whole month. You were fighting demons as your favorite character, Sailor Moon, as you discovered you are really her,” Dad stated. I nodded half-heartedly.

“I know it sounds crazy, but I have proof,” I say.

“Ok, show us. It better be good or you’ll never see the outside of your room again,” Mother said with a hint of anger underlying her tone. She decides to say this in English.

“Luna, tell them that I’m Sailor Moon,” I command in Japanese, to Luna who is on my lap. “You miles will talk because they know everything else anyway.”

“Sis, have you completely lost your mind,” Sammy asked. “I mean, you’re talking to your cat!”

“Just watch,” I growl out. He jumped back in fear. Perhaps I’ve been hanging out with Kouga and Inuyasha a little too much…

“Indeed, what she says is true,” Luna spoke. My family falls over anime style and Kagome’s grandpa starts shouting the my cat is a demon.

“Gramps, calm down! Luna is not a demon. She’s just a talking cat,” Kagome exclaims.

“Cool,” Souta and Sammy shout at the same time. Little brothers…

“I also have this,” I say, holding up my brooch. I open it up and inside, lies the Silver Crystal. “This is the actual Silver Imperirum Crystal.” Luna sat beside me, listening to the conversation in interest.

“This can’t be happening,” Mom says in shock. “My baby is Sailor Moon?”

“Keiko-san, it is true. I’m Kagome and I was with her the whole time. I’m also Sailor Mars,” Kagome says calmly, then mutters,“ I wish Inuyasha was here so I could prove that youkai exist.”

“It’s hard to believe, but based on Luna talking, I’d say that it’s proof enough,” Dad says. “Although, Cynthia, you are not to go unpunished.” I stifle a groan.

“You are grounded for a month,” he states after a few moments.

“WHAT?! You can’t do that! I have to go through the well to help defeat Naraku! I have to find the other sailor senshi or the world will be doomed,” I exclaim.

“That is not our problem. That is their world. This is ours,” Mother says simply.

“How can you be so heartless?! I have friends there! I’m not just gonna sit here and not help them when they’re in need of my help! Also, what is left unsolved in their world will affect ours too. Have you ever thought about that?! We already altered time by traveling through the well,” I shout.

“Do not raise your tone of voice at me,” mom shouts. After a breath, she calms down. “I guess you’re right. I’m sorry, but we worried so much about you,” she starts having tears form in her eyes. “Me and your father and brother were all very worried about you. We thought that something terrible happened! You ran away and didn’t come back for so long.” I started feeling guilty then. I didn’t mean for it to be that long, but so many things happened since then and I couldn’t go back to my time right away.

“May I say something.” Kagome’s Mom asks. Everyone turned to look at her. “Thank you. It might help your decision on what to do about your daughter,” she directed towards my parents. “I remember when Kagome first fell through the well, I was just as devastated as you. I didn’t know of my daughter’s condition. It worried me even more when she returned two days afterward because of the things she told us. I may be looked upon as more accepting, but I learned after letting Kagome go back, that it was her destiny; her life’s mission. Even now, when she goes back to Sengoku Jidai, I worry about her well-being, but I know she has many friends that will help her. She is never alone. Inuyasha always protects her from danger and Kagome has learned much about maturing and love. Before you decide on whether you let Cynthia-san travel through time anymore, you should think about her duties there as well.” I saw my parents nod, trying to take it all in.

“Thank you for you’ve done to help us, Higurashi-san,” my father says to her. Kagome’s mother simply smiles. Me and my family were about to leave, when we heard the back door slam open.

“What the? Two jewel shards? It can’t be,” Kagome mutters in horror.

“What the hell are you doing with my woman,” a voice I knew all too well, bellowed out. To my horror, my mate, appeared in font of me at his top speed and took my hands into his.

“Kouga,” I choke out.

“Kouga-kun,“ Kagome breathes out at the same time. How the hell did this happen?! If I thought I was free from punishment, all hopes sank at that moment.

******Kouga’s POV******

Soon after Cynthia left, I ran through the woods to get my thoughts frustration down. I wouldn’t get to see my woman for a whole week! While running, I thought of an idea: Why don’t I go try going through the well? I guessed that one needs jewel shards or has to be connected to the one who can freely travel through the well, to be able to do it. I may connected to Cynthia because part of the Silver Crystal supposedly went into my body. I must admit, because of that, I feel stronger than I used to. It’s like Inuyasha can cross through the well because of those prayer beads that connects him to Kagome. I know what you’re thinking: “Wow he actually thought that out!”

I turned around and started running towards the well, the tornado of wind whipping at my sides. The Mutt was still sitting in the same tree I saw him in when I left. I walked up to the well and was about to jump in, when I heard him demand,” What the hell are you doing?”

“I’m going to find out if I can travel through the well,” I say simply. He hopped down from the tree and walked over to me.

“Keh! Don’t be stupid! Only Kagome and I can travel through it,” he snorted out.

“You don’t know that for sure, Mutt,” I point out. “You’re connected to Kagome by those prayer beads right?”

“I guess,” he replied confused. “Why the hell do you care?”

“I don’t, but I’m actually glad she got those on you,” I smirk, trying to annoy him. When I hear him growl, I continue,” Then I’m connected to Cynthia by the part of the Silver Crystal that’s inside of my body when she revived me. Meaning, that I can possibly cross through the well like you can.”

“I doubt it,” he huffed, crossing his arms.

“We’ll see about it then, won’t we?” I jump up into air and land straight into the well below me. Just as I thought, weird light surrounded me and my feet float above the ground for a few seconds. When my feet touch the ground, my nose is instantly filled with strange smells. I almost gag because of the overwhelming scents. How could Inuyasha stand this?!

I jump out the well and see a it’s concealed inside a hut. I find this strange wooden contraption covering the opening. There was a handle so I pushed at it until it opened. My eyes adjusted to the brightness outside, but my ears and nose were in agony by all the things in this time. I must have it worse because Inuyasha is a hanyou and I’m a full youkai. After a few minutes, I find Cynthia and Kagome’s scent mixed with the scent of many other humans and animals. I was curious to know who all of those people were with her.

They were in the giant hut, I would call a castle. Whoever lived there must be wealthy. I walked up to find another one of those weird doors. I pushed it back roughly and walked in, worried about my mate.

I heard Kagome gasp that she sensed my shards. I call out,” What the hell are you doing with my woman?!” I took that time to appear in front of Cynthia.

Kagome and Cynthia both breathed,” Kouga?” I looked around and glare at the other humans.

“But how,” was all Kagome could ask. I then caught the scent of the Mutt. The door slams again and in walks Inuyasha.

“Inu-no-niichan,” exclaims this little boy, Kagome’s little brother, I guessed.

“Who are these weird men,” an older female asked in shock.

“Um, mom, this is Kouga. You know the one I told you about. And this is Inuyasha,” Cynthia responded meekly. My gaze softened. I immediately noticed that in my rashness, I never noticed that these people either had the same scents of Kagome or Cynthia.

“What the hell is going on here,” demanded Inuyasha.

“Inuyasha,” Kagome squeaked. “Are you here because you followed Kouga?” Mutt-Face nods and then stares at the humans with confusion.

“Inuyasha and Kouga?! They‘re both demon,” the male, I was guessing, her father asked.

“Yea, you got a problem with that,” both me and Inuyasha demand.

“Kouga, don’t be so rude,” Cynthia commands, smacking the back of my head. “These are my parents. Mom and dad, please forgive Kouga for his rudeness.”

“Sorry,” I grumble. I see Inu-koro smirk and I glare at him.

“Kagome, is this the guy that always claimed you to be his woman,” Kagome’s brother asked.

“Souta,” Kagome scolded, blushing,” Don’t say that! Kouga-kun is my friend. Besides Cynthia is his girlfriend now.” I was confused at the phrase ‘girlfriend.’ It must be another phrase for mates.

All eyes turned to Cynthia and I. “Is this true,” Cynthia’s father demands.

My woman looked flustered and answered,” Yes.”

“This is more strange than a guy covered in tattoos. This man has pointed ears, claws, and a tail for heaven sakes,” her mom elaborated. My eyes narrowed at that statement, though I did not understand what ‘tattoos’ were.

“Mom, he’s right in front of you,” Cynthia exclaimed out of embarrassment.

Another little boy, I’m guessing to be Cynthia’s little brother, shouted,” Cool, my sister is dating a demon!”

“Kouga, was that your name,” Cynthia’s dad asked. I simply nodded. He continued,” I would like you to tell me a little about yourself.” Cynthia groaned, though, I didn’t understand why.

“Well, I am the Prince of Yourouzoku Wolf Tribe. I am an ookami-youkai. I’m about 156 years old, though in human years I’m about 16,” I explain. The Mutt rolls his eyes, beginning to get annoyed.

“156! You don’t say,” he exclaims. “Demons must live for a really long time!”

“Ok, that’s enough for today,” Cynthia shouted. “Me, Luna, Kouga, Inuyasha, and Kagome have to talk alone for a few minutes. Could everyone please leave the room?”

“Now wait-” Cynthia’s mom was cut off by her daughter.

“Please mom. This is very important,” Cynthia shouts exasperated. Her mom sighs and nods, walking out with the rest of the people.

When we are alone, Kagome instantly asks me,” How is it possible that you made it through the well?”

“Keh! I guess the Wolf actually used his brain and thought out that he was connected to Cynthia,” Inuyasha snorted.

“What the hell do you mean ‘actually used my brain’,” I bellowed out, getting angry.

“It’s payback for that little comment you made by the well,” he responds, smirking.

“Guys! Stop it! Inuyasha, what did you mean by connected,” Kagome asked.

“I think he meant the part of the Silver Crystal, Cynthia placed in Kouga when she revived him,” explains the weird cat, Luna.

“That would make sense,” Kagome murmurs.

“Isn’t it how Inuyasha travels through the well? Because the prayer beads around his neck are binding you together,” Cynthia asks.

“I never thought of it that way, but that would explain why he can and nobody else can in his time, besides Kouga-kun,” Kagome says.

“In that case, Luna can travel though because she is my adviser and is to be with me at all times,” my woman said.

“Me and Kagome still have to stay here for this week. You two should go back,” Cynthia suggested.

“Why should I do that, now that I know I can use the well,” I ask.

“My parents are on edge as it is. I have to go back with them and I don’t think they will let you stay with me anyways. My dad goes nuts when I know a boy,” Cynthia explains.

“Besides, who is going to protect Kaede’s village from demons? At least one of you have to be there. Sango-chan and Miroku-sama can only do so much,” Kagome adds.

“Hey, why are you pushy all of a sudden,” Inuyasha asks. “Miroku and Sango always handle themselves well on their own when I stay here for a few days.”

“Well, it’s just that we have so many things to catch up on in school and you’ll only distract us,” Cynthia say for Kagome.

“Fine. If you don’t want me here so badly, I’ll go,” Inuyasha grumbled, his ears drooping in defeat.

“Inuyasha it’s not that! I so many things I have to do and I have to always watch out for you when you do stay. I’ve never been gone for a month so I’ll even more work to do than usual and you’d have nothing to do,” Kagome shouts.

“Please Kouga,” Cynthia asks, looking up at me with her brown eyes in a pout. I know I can’t overcome that face so I give in.

“Ok, but you’ll come back after the week or I’ll have to come back here,” I smirk.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she smiles, kissing my cheek. We both blush and Inuyasha grumbles. I walk back to the well and jump in, letting the light take me back to my own time.

******No One’s POV******

Inuyasha stares at Kagome after Kouga leaves. “I guess I’ll go so I won’t bother you so much,” he mumbles. He follows the exit where Kouga went out of.

After he left, Kagome and Cynthia were relieved. However, Cynthia still had her parents to deal with. “If I thought I was out of punishment, I was dead wrong,” she said.

“They couldn’t possibly ground you! You’re Sailor Moon,” Luna exclaimed.

“Luna, you should know better. It doesn’t matter if I was the president of the world, they would still ground me. They are that stubborn,” Cynthia responds. Luna nods sadly, knowing how her parents are by staying with her for that long.

“You can all come in now,” Kagome shouts. Their families pile back in.

“What was that about,” Cynthia’s father demands.

“We just sent them back to their time,” Cynthia tells her father.

“That’s a shame. We were just getting to know them better,” her mom stated. Luna and Cynthia heaved a sigh.

“Cynthia, we should get going now. You are back and school’s tomorrow. Today has been long,” Cynthia’s dad said.

“Alright. I’ll call you later Kagome-chan,” Cynthia said, smiling.

“Ok,” Kagome said back. They hugged each other briefly.

Their little brothers began to plan another day to meet, since they went to the same school. “I guess I’ll see you at school,” Souta said to Sammy.

“Right! Be sure to bring your cards so we can duel,” Sammy responded. Souta smiled and nodded.

“Thank you so much for your hospitality, Higurashi-san,” her mother said, thanking Kagome’s mother.

“It was nothing. I have a feeling this is not the last time we will meet either. Please think about what I said to you,” Kagome mom responded. Cynthia’s parents nodded and they all walked out to the door.

“Have a good night,” Cynthia’s mom said.

“You too.”

After they reached the bottom of the steps, Sammy exclaimed,” Kouga was cool. I like him.” Cynthia stifled another groan. Tonight was going to be a long night.

Sorry for not updating for so long. Also, my apologizes for no action in this one, but it had to be done. I hope you enjoyed the comedy from Cynthia’s family. Promise for a lot of action in the next chapter. Also I will state I made up Kouga’s age in demon years. There is never clear age for him mentioned in the anime or manga.

Next time on Princess Cynthia and Prince Kouga: Kagome and Cynthia finish up their week in school and return to the Sengoku Jidai to check on Makoto’s condition. They continue on their hunt for the Shikon Jewel shards when they come across a girl. Is she the long awaited Sailor Mercury?
