Chapter two: Not another demon!

{AN: sorry for the long, long wait. Harder to update with school and sports in the way; well at least my B-day is on the 3rd (of Oct.) YAY for me.}

{Rini POV}

I was laying on something very soft but I could still feel the ground beneath me. Was I dead? My wings were gone and I can tell I'm not in my sailor outfit anymore. Now I felt something cold being place on my throbbing head.. So I can't be dead if I could still feel. Slowly I opened my eye before me was a…. no not another demon!

{NPOV}

Shippo reached out to calm the young woman down as soon as her fear hit his nose.

"Hey chill out. I'm not going to hurt you," Shippo said pushing the lady back down.

"Who are you," Rini asked.

"I'm Shippo a fox-demon. Are you feeling better," he asked in a rich silky voice.

"Um yeah," Rini said.

"Cool. Well you can rest now someone will be back to check on ya later," Shippo said getting up.

"Wait, where am I," Rini question.

"Oh your in the house of Inuyasha. You'll be safe here," Shippo said with a wink and walked out.

`That's just great that sounds like another demon too,' Rini grunted. `wait doesn't Inu mean dog? I knew I shouldn't taken that Japanese course in school' she said herself.

She groaned out in pain when she lifted herself up in a sitting position. Bad move she must have reopen some of her wound for blood started to appear on her chest.

Suddenly her door slid open as tall silver haired demon dress in red appeared. Rini grasped he looked almost like the one who did this too her.

`Though come to think of it. That power was way different from Sesshomaru's demonic power. It felt nearly human,' Rini thought.

"So you're awake but it seems you reopen some of your wounds. I'll go get my mate," Inuyasha said in a gruff voice before leaving.

"Hey wait," Rini said.

"What," Inuyasha called back.

"Are you Inuyasha," Rini asked.

"Yeah so what of it," Inuyasha asked as one of his ears twitched.

"Nothing the fox had said this was your house is all. Thank you for saving me," Rini said gracefully.

"Feh, well thanks for giving me back pains your pretty heavy ya know," Inuyasha replied with a snort.

`WOW! Is he every rude and what's with those cat ear on his head,' Rini thought as she looked at her blood stained hand. She felt the new material that covered her body. It had to be a kimono of some sort. Her eyes closed again this had been some day.

{Rini's POV}

So Pluto it seem I have failed in killing that demon. I wonder if I can still go back or maybe I should try again? It will take me a while to heal. Besides I'm in a house full of demons. I sense demonic powers all around me its so thick I can choke on it.

That Sesshomaru is very formidable he didn't even die off that last attack. I could still feel his strong aura. Yet who stop me from making my last attack? It wasn't him it was someone else I'm sure. Whatever I won't let them stop me I will destroy that sword of his if it's the last then I do. I promise you all that. I gave you my scout honor.

{NPOV}

Kagome slide the door back it seemed the pink-haired maiden was asleep again. Kagome had been slightly disappointed that neither Shippo or Inuyasha had asked the girl her name or where she was from. So now it seem that Kagome would have to wait until tomorrow.

Quickly Kagome got to work on the girl wounds. Kagome was so sure she knew exactly what had happen but their was still doubts.

`I know this was done with a sacred arrow but who could have done it,' Kagome question herself.

The nasty looking wound was at least healing though it might leave a scar on the girl's side. It was a blessing that the girl lived for that was one major injury. Inuyasha claimed the girl wasn't a demon nor a hanyou but she wasn't human either.

"She's something magical like a fairy or something," Inuyasha had said.

Up close Kagome felt it too but the girl sure looked human enough. Though over the years she discovered a lot of things might look human but deep down they weren't. However Kagome trusted the girl well enough to let her inside the house. Even though Inuyasha warn her to be careful and think of the safety of the pups Kagome still feared for the girl's survival.

"You'll be okay," Kagome said as she finished dressing the girl's wounds.

After tending to her other wounds Kagome quickly left the small room. Steeping back she quickly found herself in the arms of Inuyasha. "So, is she okay," Inuyasha asked taking in Kagome's scent.

"She's sleep but I think in a few days she'll be alright," Kagome said.

"Damnit I want someone to tell who she is. That girl reeks of something unworldly," Inuyasha.

"Inuyasha," Kagome said with eyes full of question.

"It's nothing let's just go to bed," Inuyasha said.

`I know there's something his not telling me,' Kagome thought as she was carry off to bed in the strong arms of Inuyasha.

{Next morning}

Rini found herself being awoken to the soft humming of Shippo and the smell of fresh fruit. She could already tell she was feeling a lot better and her wounds were rapidly healing. The room looked a lot smaller than it had when it was dark and it was ill-furnish it only had the cot she laid on and a couple of wooden trunks on the side.

"Good Morning," was all Shippo said to the pink haired warrior that had awoken.

"Good morning to you," Rini replied sourly.

"Don't worry your wounds will heal soon. My mother is an excellent healer," Shippo said cutting an apple with his claws.

"Another demon huh," Rini said dryly.

Shippo gave a short laugh, "Not all demons are bad you know. Actually my mother is human."

"You don't say," Rini said now sitting up.

"Here you need to eat," Shippo said giving her the plate of fresh fruit.

"Thanks," Rini said before instantly chowing down on the food.

`Wow this girl can eat,' Shippo thought.

The sunlight was entering the room just right as the sunrays made the girl hair sparkle. She really did have an unusual shade of pink but still it was exotic. He wondered how soft it actually was it sure smelled like. `Like vanilla and cherries,' he thought. Before he knew it he was already behind the girl gently touching her pink strands.

"What," was all Rini could say.

"Silky," Shippo mumbled. The soft purred that followed sent shivers down Rini's spine.

`What a strange demon but he's kind of attractive,' she thought as she felt her face burning red.

"Umm excuse me but is there something wrong," Rini sudden said softly.

"Sorry demon instincts," he said with a laugh backing away. `I'm starting to get as bad as Miroku.'

"I see," Rini said bluntly.

"Umm yeah. I don't think I ever asked you your name," Shippo asked.

"It's Serenity, but everyone just calls me Rini," Rini state.

"Which do you prefer," Shippo asked.

"You can call me Rini," Rini said with a shy smile.

"Well it been nice talking to you Rini-san but I have to start my morning chores," Shippo said getting up.

"good-bye," Rini said.

"Goody-bye," Shippo said with a bow then slide the door close behind him.

`Dammit I wasn't suppose to go and make friends with a demon! How can I be so carefree I have to get out of here before I forget my true mission. I have to get out of here, kill Sesshomaru, and destroy that evil sword of his. That cocky demon doesn't even deserve my mercy,' Rini shouted in her head.

"Hello," came the cheerful greeting from a woman in a dark green kimono.

`Wow she must be the lady of this place. Such a fancy kimono it must be pure silk,' Rini thought.

"Good morning," said two smaller figures with little cat ears themselves from behind the woman.

"Children go outside now. Your father waiting for you," was the harsh command of their mother.

"AWW," was the last thing Rini heard from the two children before they disappeared.

"Sorry about that. How are you feeling? Do you need anything for your pain," asked the lady in green.

"I'm fine but thank you lady…" Rini began to say.

"Oh, my name is Kagome," Kagome said with a blush. Even after all these years it still felt odd when people called her lady Kagome.

"I'm Serenity but you may call my Rini if you wish," Rini said

"Serenity. That's a pretty name," Kagome said with a smile.

"It's a family name," Rini replied.

"Oh I see and where is your family," Kagome sitting besides the girl.

"Gone. I'm the only one left," Rini said.

"Was it demons," Kagome asked.

"Hai demons," Rini said in a small voice.

`Well it is partially true. I can't fully explain my situation to this lady. Even if she is human. Well I think she's human,' Rini thought looking into the honest eyes of Kagome.

"Well your welcome to stay until you can pick your feet up," Kagome said.

"Your sure about that? Your husband didn't seem to enjoy my company," Rini said remembering the rude comment the dog-man had made to her last night.

"Inuyasha? Oh well, his like that with everyone new he meets but he really doesn't mind. He just doesn't like too see women in pain," Kagome explain.

"I see," Rini said laying down.

"Are you starting to feel any pain yet," Kagome ask.

"No, I'm just feeling tired," Rini said with a small yawn.

"Then I'll let you rest. I'll try to keep my wild pups quiet for you," Kagome said with smirk.

"Please don't go to too much trouble Kagome-sama," Rini said.

"No it's okay. Thanks to you I have an excuse to make them stop their loud howling," Kagome said with a wink.

As on cue a loud howl was heard from Koji and then a loud yelp.

"Gez, they are loud," Rini said blinking back her surprise.

"Told you so," Kagome said.

Kagome left to go scold her oldest son and check on her younger cubs. Rini was once again left alone to sleep. Inuyasha and his pups where doing random chores around the house. Shippo voluntarily checking on Rini everyone now and then. Though he had to keep himself for staring at her to long.

`She's so exotic looking I wonder where she's from. I'm sorry demons destroy you village,' Shippo thought now on his fourth check. Now he was lightly tracing her facial outline with a clawed finger.

"Shippo," Inuyasha said all to sudden causing Shippo to jump.

"Oy, Inuyasha I didn't hear you," Shippo said.

"I know that. I've been calling you for ten minutes. It's lunch time," Inuyasha said with a lifted eyebrow.

"Oh right," Shippo quickly scurrying pass his dog-eared father trying to hide his burning face.

"Don't fall in love with it," Inuyasha said sudden looking at the sleeping form of Rini.

"What," Shippo said turning around.

"Damn what's wrong with you ears? Don't go falling over that fairy girl. There's something odd about her," Inuyasha crossing his arms in his sleeve.

"Keh, you said that about everyone new we meet," Shippo said.

"I'm serious. I smell trouble on her," Inuyasha eyeing the girl for any sudden movements.

"Is this before or after she came crashing down on your back," Shippo sneered.

Inuyasha crack his knuckles suppressing the urge to smack and/or wallop the fox like he used to. Instead he mere drag him to the front room by the back of his collar.

`Baka Shippo you never learn. Still thought I feel a bad omen looming around that girl. Not my fault if no one wants to take me seriously,' he thought.

Inuyasha sat before his family trying to clear his head about the pink haired creature in the west wing room. Right now just being with his family was important and he do anything to keep it the way it was.
