Chapter 14: Recovery

With batteries of tests and armfuls of morphine, Usagi was already beginning to hate hospital life. Slipping in and out of consciousness she would find herself waking to the faces of her family, Luna, different nurses and at more times then the others Dr. Haruki. She hadn't seen her grandfather or father as of yet, but Haruka had informed her that they often come in the evenings and sit in the room with her while she was asleep. She files that piece of information somewhere within her drug induced mind while wondering why they didn't come around while she was awake.
The bruises around her gun shot wound looked horrible while the wound was closing up nicely, so much so that the Doctor informed her that with her healing so rapidly that there might be a chance she could go home early, but wouldn't be allowed to do anything that might agitate the wound, which she was half glad for. By the end of the second week the tube that was helping her eat was finally removed, but she still wasn't allowed to eat anything solid. She was just happy to eat something that wasn't being shoved down her throat in a tube even if it was sugar free Jell-O.
When Hotaru visited one day she got her first good look at the wound and had commented that the wound looked closely related to an eggplant, which made Usagi throw a pillow at her, albeit weakly, but it was still good to see the girl moving around even if it was slowly.
Now a week and a half later, from that day the swelling around the wound had almost disappeared, but the redness was still evident and the doctor was still making her eat bland Jell-O and pudding. Her strength was starting to return to her and she was fast becoming more like her self once again. For Usagi, though, the constant laying around was starting to grate on her nerves along with the dull ache from her abdomen if she happened to move her body the wrong way. To say that Usagi was starting to get restless was an understatement, but even the smallest task was taking a lot of her energy out of her and it was becoming aggravating to the athletic girl to the point where she threw a glass at the door when she tried to get out of bed.
The doctor had come into the room and reassured the fretful girl that it was normal for her to become tired at the smallest activity considering her body was trying to fix the damage the bullet had done to her. This conversation made her feel a little better, but she was still disgusted with herself for not healing faster.
`So tired,' she thinks to herself and is once again frustrated at the fact that she spends more time asleep then she does awake.
Her eyelids grow increasingly heavy. Until finally, after fighting the inevitable she closes her eyes giving in to her exhaustion while unaware of gray and dark blue eyes watching her from the door way. The eyes turn to look at one another with unhappy looks on their faces before the figures turn and leave the sleeping girl while whispering softly to themselves as to not wake the sleeping girl.
“We have to do something. He hasn't been seen and from what Hotaru has told me, he hasn't come to school either. We have to step up our search. He couldn't have gone far. Rei-chan hit him up side the head which would've caused a major concussion, so that means he had to have gone to a hospital and if he didn't then his father would've called a doctor to his house. We have to figure it out and soon. I don't want that bastard out there for much longer,” an angry voice hisses out in frustration at the inability to find one person.
“Do no fret my son. We'll find that asshole and we'll take him and his father down in one swoop. He messed with the wrong family,” an older voice states in an angry tone. “I hate to ask Haruki for help, but we just might need it. He might know of any doctor's going to the Chiba's.”
“He'll help. Usagi is like a daughter to him. She used to spend so much time with his kids that he thinks of her as one. Speaking of which, I heard that they were coming home to visit Usagi in the hospital,” Hiro states before looking back at the now closed door to Usagi's room.
“For once I'm actually glad that I'll be at work. She'll have her arms full with those three when they arrive,” the older man laughs before shaking his head then he puts an arm around his son's shoulders. “Don't worry so much about this Hiro. We'll find him and when we do him and his father will wish that they were never born.”
Hiro turns his head to look at his father before nodding his head and the two older men walk down the hall way of the private part of the hospital not knowing that a pair of dark brown eyes is watching them from a halfway closed door.
`So, you think that you can spurn my son his rightful place. Well, we'll see about that,' the man thinks before he exits the room and slowly sneaks towards the exit of the hospital. `That bitch will be put into her place. Soon, my dear, very soon will you know the power of the Chiba's. No one makes a fool out of us.'
Haruki comes out of his office just as the exit door closes. He looks up from his charts and looks around the hallway. When he finds nothing out of the ordinary he shrugs his shoulders and walks towards his patient's room.

At Usagi's high school everything was far from normal. The word had gotten around that Nate is currently in the hospital because he had been shot while he was at a spa with his Uncle and his fiancé. When the girls had found out about it they wailed about their handsome classmate as if he was dead and just about the entire school had been shut down because the girls were refusing to go to class. This had made Hotaru and the rest of the girls roll their eyes at the absurdness of the girls, but were glad for the time off after two days of staying up first for the news of Usagi's surgery and then for her to wake up.
As the month passed the rumors of what happened kept getting so fantastic that one girl actually came up to ask if Nate-sempai was wanted by the yakuza because he was having an illicit affair with the crime lords daughter. Wide eyed and beyond disgusted, Hotaru turned on her heel then walked away from the girl while she yelled at Hotaru.
What really concerned the girls the most was the fact that Rei wasn't talking to any of them. In fact she made it a point to stay away from them, go as far as asking the teachers if she could be moved to a different seat in any class that she had with the other girls. She was the frequent topic of discussion at lunch time along with how well Usagi was healing. None of the girls could figure out what was exactly wrong with her, while Makoto pointed out that she's been this way ever since Minako found her outside the hospital slumped to the ground passed out. After waking her up, Rei made an excuse to go home and all, but ran away from Minako in her haste.
They found out from the doctor that she would visit Usagi, but only late at night after her grandfather and father had left then she would sit with her until the doctor would come and get her only then would she leave. What was odd was the fact that she would most of the time have an angry expression on her face, but tears would be running down her cheeks at the same time. None of them could figure out this odd behavior which was even odder for their fiery tempered friend.
HR
Rei sighed while she looked towards the empty seat of her classmate then shakes her head trying to get the confusing feelings out of her mind before looking towards the front of the room. Almost a month had passed since Nate was admitted to the hospital for the gunshot wound and through out that month the girl had been in constant turmoil. On the one hand she was grateful that he had saved her life while on the other hand she knew that he harbored a deep secret. A secret, that she wasn't all too sure as to why he kept it in the first place. She began to wonder if she would see the blonde haired boy before Christmas which was rapidly approaching. She furrows her eyebrows before leaning back into her chair wondering again why she was thinking of the boy to begin with. He was a pervert that was actually a girl and what did she care if she would see him or not? Until she realized that she just wanted him to be well after what had happened at the spa and that she would be raked with guilt until she saw him standing on his own two feet with that cocky smirk on his face once again.
`The things I put myself through,' she thinks grimly before shifting her thoughts to her friends.
She knew that they had to know. Well all of them except for maybe Minako who was always too busy checking out his butt to think that there might even be a small remote chance that he might be a girl. She shakes her head and closes her eyes. Why didn't anyone tell her? What was the point of keeping such a deceiving secret?
`Ahh, could it be because you just might have feelings for this person and you are confused because you found out that he's a girl? Wouldn't it be easier for you to deal with it now because he is a girl?' A small voice asks her and she shakes her head ruefully.
`It doesn't matter if he's a boy or a girl. He's still the same person he was before! He's a PERVERT!' She at the voice that had been around since she found out that Nate was actually a girl.
`You keep telling yourself and one day you might convince yourself that the Nile runs the correct way,' the voice states before it grows quiet.
The teacher enters the class and takes attendance before beginning the lecture. After answering to her name, Rei looks out the window noticing the dull looking clouds that promises snow later in the day while the bare tree limbs blow contently in the breeze outside. Despite the fact that it's really cold outside she feels that she would rather be outside in the crisp air then cooped up in the overly warm stuffy classroom.
She lets out a sigh while her mind drifts along with the clouds outside, thinking about what it would be like to walk through a clear, moonlight night with snow crunching under her feet and her hand within someone else's. She snaps up when her dream self turns her head only to see Nate's smiling blue eyes looking back at her.
So lost is she within her thoughts that she doesn't hear the teacher until the teacher is right in front of her desk.
“HINO REI!”
Rei's eyes bulge out at the yell. Swiftly she stumbles to her feet blushing when she realizes that her teacher has been calling her name for quite some time now.
“Thank you for joining us Hino-san,” the teacher voices sarcastically. Rei blushes while she hangs her head in shame when she hears her fellow classmates snicker at her reprimanding.
“Please take your seat next to her,” the teacher states.
The girl nods her head politely before making her way towards her seat while the teacher turns her attention back to the lesson. The girl's lips turn upwards in amusement when she sees that the raven haired student is still standing beside her desk with her head bent down.
“You had better sit down before the teacher shouts at you again,” a whisper from her left.
Rei takes a seat then watches while the new girl takes a seat beside her. Amethyst eyes widened while she continues to stare at the girl in disbelief.
The girl feeling the gaze, smiles when she looks over at Rei then holds out her hand politely.
“Osaka Naru,” she offers. Rei nods her head mutely.
“Hino Rei,” she states after a few seconds then takes the girls hand within her own and shakes it.
“Nice to meet you,” Naru states with a small smile, while Rei nods her head numbly.
After a few awkward moments, Rei let's go of the girls hand and the two finally turn their attention to the lessons.
Rei sneaks a few glances over at the girl. The girl looks similar to the girl that was at the spa with them while she and the other girls had spent time there, but the name was different and that was confusing her the most. Though the girls face didn't have the cherubic features the other one had possessed it was still none the less striking. Pale skin and shimmering locks of flaming red hair that comes down to her shoulders and when Rei had looked into her eyes, they were a dark green, like the forest leaves instead of the deep ocean color that the other girl had possessed. She could hear whispers from behind her while the other students look over at each other, nudging and sneaking glances at the new girl who seemed to have her face buried in her book. Rei looked over at the girl right across from her sympathetically knowing that the girl would now be the hottest gossip at school, along with the reason why Nate is currently in the hospital. She could imagine the crowds of girls that would emerge trying to find out the details of the new girls parentage, her looks and various other atrocious things.
She sighs thinking that perhaps the girl might want to join her friends for lunch, but then she remembers that she isn't really talking to them right now. She lets out another sigh while she thinks about how Mina would gladly welcome the newbie then she shakes her head while the feeling of loneliness envelops around her like a glove and she realizes that the absence of her friends is making her lonelier then she's ever been in a long while. With that in mind she decides that maybe it's time for her to talk with them again. With a small smile, she begins to count the hours to lunch. After a few restless moments she gives up and instead buries her face into her book hoping that the lecture would help pass the time until she could see her friends once again and apologize for her appalling attitude towards them.

Usagi was finally able to return home after spending almost another three and a half weeks in the hospital when she got home she was greeted by Shinzu, who had been waiting by the large window until she saw the car, which made her jump up from her seat and run out of the mansion and hugged the blonde haired girl tightly after she had finally emerged from the car.
With tears streaking down her face and angry accusations being said while she pointed a finger at her blonde idol she then refused to let her out of her sight fearing that Usagi would end up back in the hospital once she let her out of her sight. The two entered the house where the family was waiting along with Makoto and a few of Usagi's close friends, people she hadn't seen in a while. The reunion was joyful and emotional, even Luna was seen grabbing the girl into a tight hug and whispering to her like she did when she was a young girl. This gesture brought tears to the young blonde's eyes while her mind went back to a time when she had nightmares and the head maid would come into her room to sooth the girl's fears. A cake was cut, hugs were given and life was celebrated. Still for Usagi despite seeing her friends and family, it wasn't enough to wipe away the bitterness and the loneliness that ate away at her soul while she was in the hospital.
Some days later she was in the tea room lying on the couch with an arm over her eyes. Her reflexes weren't what they used to be which still frustrated her to no end. Things that she used to do so easily, was now requiring a bit more patience to complete. Her aunts has told her time again that she was trying way too hard and that things would come more naturally if she just allowed herself to relax. This is why she was in the tea room, right now on the small sofa after being ordered by Luna to take a break and allow her still healing body to relax.
Life had become a struggle and she hated having to put so much effort into simple tasks which often then not had left her feeling drained. She stayed in a guestroom on the ground floor because her father didn't know if climbing upstairs would make her pull her healing stitches or not. A personal nurse came over everyday to help with the physiotherapy. Not wanting to worry her family, she plasters on a smile and seemed to all that didn't know her very well that she was improving both physically and mentally, but in reality she just couldn't move forward; the emotions were too thick and the memories too fresh.
A sigh escapes her lips while she lies on the couch, staring up at the ceiling feeling once again drained from the walk from the guestroom to the tea room. She clenches a hand into a fist before picking up a tea cup and flings it blindly across the room, but is surprised when she doesn't hear it crash.
“Well if I didn't know better, I'd think that cup was coming towards my head. Now what are you thinking about that would make you throw such a beautifully made cup?” a voice asks causing Usagi to turn her gaze from the ceiling to the figure that is now standing in the door way.
“I thought you said you liked it better in England? The fast paced London was more your type,” Usagi grins while remembering how her friend had often stated that London was far more superior then Tokyo.
“Usa,” the girl growls dangerously when she realizes that her best friend is trying to change the subject instead of explaining what the cause of her outburst was.
“Naru,” Usagi states with a devious grin on her face while imitating the other girl's tone of voice.
Naru rolls her eyes and steps into the room before moving over to where Usagi is laying before lifting the girl's head up and slips under it before placing her head into her lap.
“I could never stay mad at you. So how are you really doing?” Naru asks while stroking her fingers through Usagi's short locks.
“I feel like dead weight. Dad's allowing me to go back to school tomorrow, but only for half the day. He doesn't want me to put to much strain on myself though the doctor states that I'll be up and running in no time, but that in no time is starting to feel like forever,” Usagi states while closing her eyes while she enjoys her friends fingers racking slowly through her hair.
Dark green eyes study Usagi's face before she lets out a sigh.
“Baka..” Naru whispers while she shakes her head knowing that her friend is keeping her emotions bottled up inside of her.
“You'd make a freaky nurse,” Usagi whispers while her eyelids begin to droop under the pleasant feeling of the fingers in her hair.
Naru sputters before glaring down at her friend.
“Who the hell said I was going to be a nurse?”
Then with air and pomp she looks up at the ceiling before raising her free hand upwards in a grandiose gesture.
“I'm going to be a famous Archeologist!” She exclaims looking for the entire world as if she was a conquering hero of some long ago civilization.
“Hai, hai...” Usagi whispers lazily while she turns over on the girls lap and looks over at the tabletop beside her.
“Oye,” poke, “oye,” poke “Don't” poke “mock” poke “my” poke “dreams” poke poke,
Usagi chuckles softly when she sees her friend's scowl. Naru smiles at her friend's reaction. It had been quite some time since she had heard Usagi smile or laugh sincerely.
Fingers push back platinum blonde bangs and Usagi sighs at the soothing sensations. Naru always had wonderful fingers. Fingers that almost always could heal any scars she had acquired.
A small smile crept across Naru's face while she watches Usagi relax under her ministrations. It wouldn't be good idea to question Usagi when she was tense.
After a while a soft snore can be heard from the blonde girl lying on her friends lap. Naru smiles before leaning down to kiss the girl's temple gently before slipping out from under her and placing a small pillow in her place.
She turns to leave the room, but not before looking at her friend once again. She wipes an errant tear away from her cheek before she leaves the room and goes in search of Usagi's Aunt Haruka. There was much to be discussed before the long time friend was going to the leave the mansion. She needed all the information before she could help out with finding the bastard that did this to her friend and the one person she knew to get that information from was, Haruka.

The next day finds Usagi walking with her Aunt Hotaru to school. Luna had suggested that Artemis drive them to school, but Usagi had turned her down saying that she couldn't stay cooped up in the house or a car any much longer before she lost her mind and went on a wild mustache drawing spree. This had confused most of the staff that was witnessing the hiss fit, but to Artemis and Luna, it was music to their ears, since it showed that the girl was at least coming back into her weird sense of humor.
On the way to school, Hotaru kept asking Usagi if she was alright so much that Usagi brought out a black marker and waved it at Hotaru who only laughed and nodded her head before falling into step beside her niece while chuckling to herself while they continue on through the snow covered street towards school.
When they arrive at the school gates Usagi stops and raises an eyebrow when she notices that half the teaching staff was outside braving the cold. Usagi turns to look at Hotaru with a raised eyebrow in a questioning look.
“Hiro and dad found out about the boys chasing you around and told them that if they found out that it happened while you were still recovering that they would call the school board and have it looked into as to why the school couldn't keep the students in control. They've been out like this since they had a talk,” Hotaru answers the questioning look and chuckles when she sees the surprised look that overtook the questioning one.
“Maybe I should've told them sooner,” Usagi mumbles while they walk through the gates only to be moped by a bunch of girls squealing in delight at the sight of their beloved Nate-san.
“Oh Nate-sempai, it's so good to have you back,” a girl gushes before grabbing the blondes arm and nuzzles against it.
“Did you get out cards, balloons and flowers?” Another girl asks while clenching the other arm.
Usagi sweat drops when she thinks about the guest room that's full of balloons, flowers, cards and other things that were sent to her while she was in the hospital and while she was at home.
“Hai, I got them all. Thank you very much,” she states before extracting herself from the girls grasp and beelines it to her Aunt who is bent over slightly in laughter.
“You could've saved me!” The blonde hisses out before they continue on towards their home room.
“What? And miss the look of embarrassment on your face while they gush all over you! Not likely!” Hotaru hoots out while they walk down the halls.
Usagi scoffs then stops dead in her tracks when she sees a familiar raven haired girl making her way towards the duo. She gulps and takes a step forward when the girl gets closer only to have her face slapped with an open palm. She brings her hand up to her redden cheek, her eyes widen in surprise at the furious look on the girls face.
“You could've told me!” Rei hisses out before walking around the stunned girl who turns her gaze towards Hotaru who lets out a sigh before pulling her niece away the stares that were currently looking at her niece in stunned silence as well.
“I think that maybe I should explain something to you,” Hotaru states when they enter an empty classroom.
“Yeah I think you better! Why don't we start with the reason, Rei came up to me and slapped me across my face. I think that would be a great place to start!” Usagi exclaims in anger while she paces around the empty room.
“Well, what exactly do you remember from when you were in the hospital?” Hotaru asks while leaning against a desk watching her niece pace the floor with a hurt and angry look on her face.
“Not a lot. I remember people being there, but my mind is so muddled from all the drugs they had me on to relieve the pain of my wound,” Usagi answers while shaking her head then looks towards Hotaru. “What does that have to do with anything?”
Hotaru lets out a sigh and runs her fingers through her hair before toeing the floor with one of her shoes. “Well, when you first woke up, the person you asked to see was Rei. The two of you talked before she leaned in and gave you a hug. When she did she happened to feel a little something, something that shouldn't be on a guy.”
Usagi stops dead in her tracks and her face becomes deathly pale before she looks over at her Aunt while all thoughts cease in her mind as well.
“She knows about you, Usa and she is very confused right now. She's angry with herself because she was beginning to feel something for you as a guy only to figure out that you were a girl which made her even more confused because she's gay. She told this to myself and Makoto when she cornered us a while back and demanded an explanation. You should've seen her, Usa. She was so upset that she started to cry right in front of us. We didn't know what to do, so we told her to wait for you to return and you would explain everything. I guess after all this time she stewed a little too much, but I really do think that she deserves an explanation.”
Usagi's eyes narrow and she lets out a breath that she didn't even know that she was holding before she stalks out of the room ignoring her Aunts yells for her to come back.
She stalks down the hall to her home room and enters the room glaring at anyone that choose that moment to look at her wrong then she goes over to her desk and sits down it with her head on her arms. She looks up when she feels a hand on her shoulder only to see Naru looking at her with a concern look on her face. Usagi shakes her head and brushes her friends hand off her shoulder before turning her attention to the front of class ignoring anyone that tries to talk to her until they all give up trying to get a reaction from the quiet, pissed looking blonde. Fearing that if they kept it up the blonde would loose it and no one wanted that, injured or not.
HR
By the end of the week Usagi in full health with her stitches finally able to come out. The scar wasn't big, but it would be noticeable if you looked closely or if you knew where it was. Though she was back into full health her emotions were a wreck. She ignored everyone except for Luna, Artemis and Shin, but that was only because they hadn't done anything for her to be mad at them. She was tired of people coming up to her asking what happened, if she was alright or if she needed anything. By the time the weekend rolled around Usagi was literally ready to pull her hair out if someone asked her the same questions anymore.
It didn't help that she was in the same class as Rei and would feel the hairs on the back of her neck sticking up every now and then, resulting in her turning around only to see Rei glaring at the back of her head. She would sneer at the raven haired girl before turning back around in her seat and turn her attention to the lecture as if nothing had happened.
That Friday she walked to school alone, leaving a protesting Hotaru behind in the dining room when she walked in, grabbed an apple and left without saying a word to her dark haired Aunt.
She knew that she was being childish, but she was mad. She hadn't told Rei something that would've gotten her out of the anguish stares from the short tempered girl and instead confirmed her suspicions. Though her mind told her that Rei wasn't really suspicious that she already knew and just wanted an explanation, but that didn't deter her anger in the slightest. Instead she became mad at her subconscious for coming to Rei's defense when she would curse the girl out mentally.
She walks through the school not paying attention to her classmates around her while they whisper and point at her because they've never seen her without Hotaru or early for that matter. Letting out a sigh she walks away from her home room and instead goes off towards the band room. Whistling melancholy to herself, she picks up a guitar and checks the tuning before she begins to pluck a couple of cords, feeling the calming twang of strings she immerses herself into playing the guitar.
With a little sigh at the familiar song that she's playing she starts to sing, her voice ringing throughout the band room.
Deep in my soul
A love so strong
It takes control
Now we both know
The secrets bared
The feelings shown
With the start of the song Usagi is transported back in her memories to a time when she was a small girl and in her minds eye she remembers that start of her first day at school.
A small girl stands with hands on her hips looking at the boys while they hang their heads looking at their feet.
“What do you think you're doing? Picking on someone smaller then you? You should be ashamed of yourself!” The blonde haired girl with a weird hair style screams at the boys that are in front of her while a small raven haired girl cries behind her. “Now go before I decide to do something besides yell at you! You wouldn't want me to get Makoto now would you?”
The boy's faces transform from a look of ridicule to one of horror as they all scramble away from the small blonde before she gets her taller friend with a mean right hook.
Usagi turns away from the boy's and leans down to take the raven haired girls hand within her own. “Don't worry, I promise they won't hurt you ever again.”
The raven haired girl wipes the tears from her eyes and nods her head. “I'm Hino Rei. Who are you?”
The blonde smiles and leans in to give the other girl a hug. “I'm Tsukino Usagi. Do you want to be friends?”
Rei nods her head and smiles widely before taking the blonde haired girls hand within her own and they go off so that Usagi can introduce her new friend to her other friend.

Driven far apart
I make a wish
On a shooting star
There will come a day
Somewhere far away
In your arms I'll stay

The girls are playing in Usagi's house when a thunderstorm comes up surprising the girls who begin to cry. Rei jumps into Usagi's arms and buries her head into her shoulder. Usagi smiles and hugs her friend closer and strokes her back while trying to pretend that storm doesn't scare her at all.
“Don't worry, Rei! I'm your prince and I'll make sure nothing happens to you,” Usagi states trying to calm the young girl down.
Even though you're gone
My love will still live on
The feeling is so strong
My only love

A blonde haired girl is sitting in a tree crying with her face buried within her arms until she feels a hand on her shoulder. She looks up to see the raven haired girl looking down at her with a small, comforting smile on her face.
“Don't worry, Usa. I'll always be here. You can have my mommy if you miss yours so much,” Rei states trying to cheer up her friend only to have the girl wrap her arms around her and cry harder.
The raven haired girl strokes the other girl's hair and lets out a soft sigh. “I love you, Usagi and I'll make sure you're happy again.”
There will come a day

Three girls hold onto each other desperately while a tall man tries to tell the blonde that it's time for them to go.
“You'll see them again, Usagi. Don't worry about it, I promise,” the man states trying to get his daughter to go with him.
“I don't wanna leave!” The blonde wails while her father picks her up and she clings to him while looking at the girls that are crying behind the mans back.
They wave and try to run after her, but their parents stop them from going, tears in their eyes as well while they watch their daughter's friend leave.

Usagi is now much older and she has her head on her knees while she stares at a picture of three little girl's smiling for the camera. `I'll find you again. I promise,' she thinks while rubbing a thumb against the raven haired girls face.
My only love
The blonde ends the song and leans her head against the guitar while remembering her time with her friends because of the song her mother used to sing to her while trying to get her to go bed.
She smiles slightly to herself when she remembers trying to sing it to her raven haired friend when they were younger and how messed up it came out.
“Usagi?” A voice asks making the blonde haired girl's head jerk up from the guitar only to have her eyes grow wide when realization dawns on the blonde.
“Rei?”

To Be Continued…

Bwwwahahahahaha! How do you all like that update? Hehehe. There were some questions about this so I thought this would be the best way. What do you all think? Let me know! Once again Read and Review!! They are great!
The song isn't mine. It belongs to the Sailor Moon Universe; I'm just using it for my purpose! Heh.
One more thing before I start answering the reviews. I'm having a small problem coming up with the name of Usagi's grandfather. So if anyone has any idea's I'd greatly appreciate it!
HR
Stormforce: Ahh another long review! Let's get this party started! Lol.
I liked writing Haruki's part as well and since I liked his character so much you will be seeing him again in future chapters! Heh. Yeah, I figured that Haruka would be like that. All angsty because the assault happened while at the place she wanted to take Usagi to so that maybe Usagi and Rei will get past their problems with each other and get together. While she knows that it really isn't her fault she does feel especially responsible for it happening no matter what.
In my experience with ambulances I know that only one person can ride in it with the victim so that's where that came into place and I figured that since it was Rei that found her that it should be her that rode with the injured Usagi while everyone else took separate cars. That and Hotaru wasn't suppose to be related to Usagi so she couldn't go with her since she suppose to not really know her and Rei didn't know that Haruka, Michiru and Shin are her family. I'll later explain how they were notified which will come into play with what Haruka told Makoto.
I figured that it's time for her to figure it out. After all, you can be stubborn for so long before something happens for you to change your views on how a person really is or at least that's what I think anyway.
Well when you talk so intensely about someone like that, the person that you are talking to might jump to conclusions and well Rei wasn't really in her right mind. She was feeling guilty and grief over what happened at the spa so it's only natural for your mind not to work correctly. Lol.
I don't believe that Haruka was really trying to play match maker, but more along the lines of trying to get Rei to understand that her niece really isn't what she believes her to be.
Ahh the question for how long they've been with the family shall be resolved later, though I do believe that I gave a small hint to how long they've been with the family though it is a small one and isn't really concrete, but I'll indulge in that information later on in future chapters.
NO! We can't bring out the elephants yet. Not yet. Heh. There is more to come for that baka! Just give me a little time and develop this thing between Rei and Usagi first and after that I duly promise that Mamo-baka will get his just deserts. Oh yes! I am gonna make him pay dearly I can tell you that! Heh.
Well she didn't put up much of a fuss or at least none that Haruka saw, but then again despite the fact that she's a young girl, she's pretty bright and she did wait patiently until Usagi came home, but not by much. Lol.
Yeah you got that right. Can't eat anything when you have a hole in your gut and they were afraid that if she ate something then she might agitate her wound more. So yes, you're right about that. Good one. Lol.
I think I answered your question on how Rei was going to act after figuring it out. I hope I did it justice. Lol.
Yep, you are going to have to wait to see just why he was at the springs which will come into play in future chapters. Can't give away too much now can I?
Yeah Ruka sometimes likes to do things with flare. That's why she blames herself so much as well, because she made it possible for Usagi to be there in the first place.
Thank you very much! I enjoy writing this story so much and I'm so glad that it's becoming so popular with the readers! You all are so great! I look forward to posting my chapters just to see what everyone thinks of the various twists and turns that I place within the story! Thank you so much for the wonderful reviews and keep them coming! They help put a different perspective on the story that I didn't realize a review could.
Riku: Thank you so much! Your reviews are much appreciated and you rock just for writing one! Hehe for an author is only great because of the readers! Thank you once again!
PantherDemon Yohan: I hope that this was soon enough for you! I hate keeping the readers waiting. Thank you for the praise on the story and my writing. I really didn't think that I could do the story any justice because it was a great story to begin with, but from all the reviews and praise I can see that it's going along really well. Thank you. And please tell your friend from me thank you for telling you about it and having you sit down to read it. It means the world to me that everyone is really getting into the story because I like writing a lot so it does this author's heart good to hear that you all really like it.
Keep on reading and writing those reviews! They mean a lot!
Aleric: No no no. I'm not really saying that I didn't know about what was going on between Yomiko and Hotaru. I just liked your idea better. Lol. Whoa, me, running for congress? Phhhhhhht. They don't have enough creativity for me to want to run. Lol.
Ahh now if only were so easy. Do you really think that Mamoru's father is going to let his only son go to prison? Ha. Nope, after all like father like son. Anyways, you're going to have to wait and see what I have in store for our dear, dear pitiful Mamoru. *evil cackle*
Yes, she is. In fact that's part of the reason she passed out on the side walk. Being drained will do that, but I think I made up for her not having reaction with this chapter. Heh. I hope that you enjoyed this installment and thank you once again for your reviews! Keep them coming! Love'em!
FeralDemonArtemis3.0: You're welcome for the hint. I hope that I did that hint justice. Lol. I hope that I did the confrontation justice in this chapter as well.
Ahh, to kill Mamoru, I wont lie about it. The thought of killing Mamoru was a very tough decision for me not to go with, but alas where would the drama come from? So, no, I had to keep the baka to make more turmoil for the main character. I know, I know, Mamoru Must Die! Lol.
Oh yes, I have plans for our dear Mamo-baka *again with the evil cackle, rubbing hands together*
Thank you for the praise! I hope that this update was soon enough for everyone! It just sorta wrote itself. Heh.
meet-nightmist: Lol. Patience is a virtue, but I've learned that with all great stories out there that there is just so much patience you can have when you are left with a cliff hanger, so I got this one out as soon as I could!
Only to be left with another cliff hanger. I hope that I answered how Rei would react after finding out about Usagi. Keep sending those reviews! They are well worth going cross eyed while writing. Heh
