Sailor Universe: Chapter 15

“MOM??! DAD?! What are you doing here? And why are the families of all the Scouts here??!”

The families made their way though the parted crowd of reporters to the group of stunned Sailor Scouts and Protectors.

“We've known for some time who you girls were. We never wanted to admit it, but we saw the resemblance between our daughters and the Sailor Scouts. We realized that all those times you came home late, or when you stayed at the Temple, were the times when the Sailor Scouts had battled with mysterious Enemies. When we heard about the press conference, we had to come. We are so proud of you.”

“Thank you, Mom and Dad. That means a lot to me.”

“Hey! Don't forget about me!”

“What?! Do you mean even my bratty little brother is proud of me??”

The crowd laughs at her teasing tone.

“Well, don't gloat over it.”

“I love you too, Sammy.”

As if on cue, everyone begins to hug their family. Everyone that is, except for Setsuna, Hotaru, Haruka, Michiru, and Raye. The Outer Scouts had lost their families long ago, and Raye's grandfather died just a year before. Of course, Darien had no family, and Colin's parents lived in England.

“Serena, should we choose to believe all of this stuff about the ancient Moon Kingdom, why would we want you to be the queen of all Earth?” A reporter asked.

“Because only the Sailor Scouts, our Protectors, and I can defeat Queen Karimenta. Unfortunately, in order for us to defeat her, I need all the powers that I would gain as queen. No, I do not mean powers over your actions. I am talking about powers I inherited from my past in the Moon Kingdom. They are magical powers that surpass anything that you have ever seen. To protect the people of the Earth, I must take the throne with Darien at my side.”

“I believe that we should end this press conference. I am sure the Sailor Scouts will want some time with their families.

“You are right, Darien. We have much to discuss with them.

**AT SERENA'S HOUSE**

“Serena, it is going to be so hard to let you go. I still think of you as a little girl. You seem much too young to be faced with so much responsibility. I forget when Sailor Moon first appeared. How long ago did you become her?”

“Since I was 14. It has been six years.”

“No wonder none of you went to college or left home. You probably never had time for any of that since you have to fight Enemies so much.”

“It is so great that all of you are so cool with this. I never thought you'd be so calm about it.”

“When your father and I first realized you were Sailor Moon, I wasn't so calm. Luckily, you were staying at Raye's Temple at the time, and when you got home, I was more accepting of the truth. We thought it would be better if we didn't tell you that we knew. We figured you'd feel guilty because everyone's identities were known to their families.”

“Thank you for that because you are so right. All of us would have freaked back then if we'd known that you had guessed our true identities.”

“Well, now I think we should start planning your wedding. Good grief, when is it going to be?? You are taking the throne in a month, and it will have to be before then. So much planning to do!!”

“Mom, calm down. Darien, do think a week before I take the throne is a good date?”

“Actually, I think it would be best to do it the day before you become queen. That way, there will be more time to plan it. I want you have your dream wedding.”

“Hel-lo! As long as I am marrying you, it will be my dream wedding. However, you are right, and Mom will be glad for the extra time.”

“You bet I will! Now, where are we going to get your dress and his tuxedo?”

“Actually, you won't have to worry about that. We are going to get married as the prince of Earth and the Princess of the Moon. This just means we're going to transform into the people we were in the past. He'll look like a knight in all his armor, and I'll have my gorgeous dress on.”

“Well, that will save some time, but there is still so much to do!”

“Chill, Mom, you have plenty of time!”

**ONE WEEK BEFORE WEDDING**

“Sailor Jupiter watch out!!”

“Arggh! If these stupid monsters don't stop coming, we'll have to cancel the wedding!”

“We can't, Jupiter! The wedding has to take place before the coronation! Imperial Moon Beam!!”

“Jupiter Lightening Bolt!”

“I think Jupiter is right, Sailor Moon! Maybe we should move the wedding until after you are crowned! AHHH! You stupid minion! Sea Serpent Attack!”

“No, Mercury! That's it! I have had enough!! CRYSTAL HEARTS ATTACK!!”

The hearts swarmed out and annihilated all of the creatures. But they never broke into shards like they normally did. The Scouts stood in shock at the sight of Sailor Moon's attack.

“Uh, what just happened?? Since when could your attack do that?!?

“Apparently since they pissed me off. I do not wish to postpone the wedding. These vile creations of Nasu will not ruin my wedding!”

“Serena, sweetie, maybe they are right. It might be best if we waited until after the coronation to get married.”

“NO!! After all, the whole point of us getting married before the coronation ceremony is so that we can be crowned together. That way, no one would ever doubt your authority as king.”

“But Serena…”

“NO BUTS!! The wedding will take place as planned, and that is FINAL!!!”

**AT THE TEMPLE**

“Oh, Serena, I am so glad that all of you are back. There is a problem with the wedding.”

“Oh, no, not you too, Setsuna!”

“What do you mean?”

“Everyone is trying to get me to postpone the wedding because of how the attacks have increased.”

“Well, it is for a different reason, but the wedding does need to be postponed. Marlena from the future contacted me. She says that the wedding cannot take place before the coronation. She refused to tell me why, or if the future had changed so that we are all still alive. We must do as she says, for we do not know the dangers of ignoring her warning.”

“Well, is everyone happy now?? The wedding is here by officially postponed. Did she even say when we could have it?!”

“A week after the coronation should be fine. I am sorry Serena to be the bearer of such news.”

“It is not your fault, Setsuna. Darn those stupid monsters!! Karimenta will pay for this, even if it is not her fault!! Oh, all those guests! How will we tell them all in time??”

“Well, we did invite pretty much the whole city. We could just have the news announce it. They talk about us 24/7 anyway.”

“I guess you are right, Ami. Mina, will you ask them? They tend to deal with you better than the rest of us.”

“That's because I've been a hero longer than all of you. I will go tell them now. Oh, and Serena, as queen, you tell, not ask.”

“That kind of rule is not wise. It would cause the people to have rebellion stirred in their hearts.”

“That is exactly what your mother said when someone said that to her. You have passed your first test. I must go now!”

“Wh-what did she mean by that??! Luna! I have a feeling you are behind this!”

“Darn that Mina! She knew you were not supposed to know about it. It was a tradition in the Moon Kingdom. Each time a princess became close to being the queen, the Sailor Scouts would test her. The tests have been the same throughout generations. The tell/ask thing was the first one. I cannot tell you what the others are. However, you will find out soon.”

“Oh, great. As if I don't have enough to worry about. My wedding is postponed, there's the coronation, the tests for the coronation, and of course, all of Karimenta's stupid minions!! Oh Lord, how am I supposed to deal with all of this??!”

“Well, for one, you could stop being such a whiny cry baby, and start acting like the queen you will be.”

“Shut up Luna! You have no idea what it feels like to be me. To have two lives, two mothers. You are lucky, cats don't have families. You do not have to deal with missing one mother, while still loving the other. You have not had the whole world depending on you for the past 6 years, and it will not depend on you for the rest of your life. I have had to deal with those things. All these stupid Enemies. I know there were not this many during the time of the Moon Kingdom. I have had to lose my Moon mother twice now. I was there when the final battle started. That's right, I have been going back in time to see her. Do you know how hard it was not to ask her to change the future? I wanted to be able to live my life on the Moon. Even if it meant that Darien and I could never be! At least then, I would not have to live with being two totally different people at the same time!!”

Sometime during this tirade, Serena had started crying, and now she was nearly hysterical. Everyone just watched on in mortification. Serena may have always been a crybaby, but she had never broken down like this before. No one knew what to say or do, and then, Darien walked in…
