Starry Eyes
Haruka can't focus. She can't sleep, she can't race, all she can think about is him. What's going on? Will it ever stop? And what the hell is she going to do about Michiru? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Sailor Moon is not mine. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Haruka stared at the ceiling. It had been about two weeks since her little accident with Seiya. Somehow, she had advoided seeing him for that entire two weeks, whether in senshi meetings, her races, or just on the street. Her dream had stopped coming, and she and Michiru were closer than ever. In fact, that night was the anniversary of their first date, and Haruka was planning to, at the dinner that night, propse to Michiru, pledging her life to her. Yes, things couldn't get better.
She got up and went downstairs to find her lover baking sugar cookies. Haruka's left eyebrow quirked up.
“All right Michiru, what's up?” Michiru dropped her spatula and spun around.
“N-nothing!”
“Michiru, the only time you bake for me is when your nervous about how I'm going to react about something.”
“That is so not true!!!” Haruka smirked.
“You remember that time you told me you had opted for an exchange student program? And them there was that time you decided to `alter' my wardrobe, forcing me to wear skirts for a week. And then…”
“Okay, okay, but you says they're for you?” Haruka's other eyebrow went up and the left one down, proboking a giggle from Michiru. She pointed over to the already baked cookies, and the ones in the middle said H, A, R, U, and K. Obviously, Michiru was still working on the A batch.
“And the only time you make sugar cookies,“ Haruka continued. “Is when you've seriously messed up, like scratching the paint on my Ferrari.”
“Haruka! You said you forgaver me for that!” Haruka mumbled something under her breath, then jolted up. “You didn't kill my Jaguar did you?!?!”
“Honestly Haruka! I'm starting to think you like those cars more than you love me, at least you kiss them!” Harka's eyes widened as Michiru slapped her hand obver her mouth.
“Is that what this is about?” Haruka sighed and went over to Michiru. “Michiru, I love you, but you know I want my first to be really special.” A fleeting memort popped into Haruka's head, an almost kiss.
`But it was important enough that I stopped myself.' She brushed off that thought and returned to the conversation, not missing a beat.
“But Haruka, aredm't I special enough?”
“You are Michiru, but the time isn't.”
“And when will it?!?!” Haruka smirked, making Michiru quirk her eyebrow this time. She leamed over to Michir's ear and whispered, “You'll find out tonight, then, won't you?” Michiru jerked back. “What are you saying?” Haruka turned her back to her, and said, grinning, “You'll see.” Michiru sighed and hrew her hands up in the air. “You are such a romantic.” Haruka paused in the doorway. She had mever, EVER been called a romantic before.
“I am sooo not!”
“Yes you are.” Michiru grinned, knowing her girl was caught. “Always talking about how you want your girst kiss to be perfect, how you want it to be done, the circumstances, EVERYTHING!”
“I do not!”
“Our on a white marvle balcomy after a candlelit dinner, over hung by a crystal, unlighted chandelier, under a full moon, no clouds in the sky, stars shining crightly, the kiss being soft and warm, tasting slightly like vanilla, for love not body, in front of a stone archway covered in roses leading from the dinner, soft raim drizzling down from sparse cirrus, adding a semse of mustery to the starry night, wind gently carressing the two of you as you break apart slowly, savoring the moment, then wistfully saying your goodbyes, then you leaping off the balcony onto a white horse waiting to carry you off into the sunrise.”
Haruka grimaced. “I talk about it that much?”
“Hmn, only when you're in a really good mood.”
“Hold up, where the hell did you get that horse part from, that's just wrong.” Michru giggled and said, “I read your diary.” Hotaru and Setsuna face faulted out from behind the door they were hiding in, as Michiru pulled out a small blue book and began leafing through it's pages.
“HEY!!! Put that thing down, or I swear I willl be forced to annihilate you.” Michiru looked up to see her lover threatening her, without the merest glimpse of a smile on her face.
“You seriously will?” Haruka solemnly nodded. `W-shy? Just because of a book? And with what?” Haruka finally cracked a grin, but Michiru was still scared, seeing, as she couldn't tell whther the grn was sincere or psycho. Scared, that is, until Haruka reached over and grabbed a pillow off the sofa.
“Prepare to be pillowfied!!!!” Michiru grinned, and frabbed a pillow herself, and launched herself at Haruka. She knew not to take this for granted, as Haruka rarely showed her playful side. Soon, a full-fledged battle began to rage, as Setsuna and Hotaru jumped in too.
“Ah! Betrayed by my own kin!!” Michiru yelled in mock anguish as Hotaru raced over to aid her Haruka-papa. Mihciru faked an emotional melt down, clutching her chest and practically sinking to the floor. Hotaru and Haruka took advantage of this, and pounced, getting a yelp out of her. As the battle commenced, Haruka had no idea that in a few hours time, she would be experiencing an emotional meltdown of her own. A real one.

“Haruka, where are we going!” Michiru yelled as her lover pulled her down the dark alley.
“Calm down, Michiru, It's a surprise!” Michiru thought about the irony in that. Haruka hated surprises, and here she was, dragging her towards “a surprise”.
“Alright, we're here!” Haruka turned around grinning.
“Okaayy, but where exactly is here?” Michiru looked around. She was in a deserted old courtyard that looked like it hadn't beed toched in years. In the middled was a fountain, and front and center was a path leading up to an old mansion.
“Haruka, who lives here?!
“No one, now come on!!!” Haruka led *cough * dragged *cough * her in and up the stars. When ther reached the top, Haruka stopped in front of a double door at the end of the hallway, tuirned, bowed, and swept it open as if ti were the entrance to a ballroom. When she looked inside, Michiru gasped.
The first thing that caught her eye was the huge, crystal chandelier hanging in the center of the large room. Michiru's eyes traveled down to rest upon a carefull laid out dinner on a long table, just short enough so that the two diners seated in the chairs at the opposite ends of the table could touch hands. The ouly light in the room was coming from two, long candles set in the center of each half of the table. Looking to the left, she saw a large stone archway, but couldn't see the other side.
“Haruka, this is…”
“Shh. Sit.” Haruka pulled out Michiru's chair as she, amzed, sat down. Haruka reached for the champagne beside her plate, so Michiru did the same.
“To the anniversary of our first date, the beginning of our destiny.” They crossed arms, and drank.
“”Haruka, I don't know what to say!” Michiru breathlessly exclaimed after they had eaten. “This is all so amazing, I can't…”
`Wait...” Haruka led Michiru out under the archway, and onto a white Mrable balcony. Michiru looked back, to see the archway covered in roses and vines. It began to rain softly, and Michiru began to silently giggle. She looked up to see the sky shining brightly under the ffull moon, filled with stars, as the sind began to gently pick up.
“It's perfect, Haruka,” Michiru crooned as she turned face her, and met with soft emerald eyes.
`Well it's about bloody time, Michiru smirked as Haruka slowly leaned in closer.
“Matte,” Haruka said, inches away from Michiru's lips.
'Oh, what now!” Michiru thought.
“ Befrore we do this, I need to ask you something.”
`This is it,' Haruka became nervous, and kneeled down on one knee. Ichiru's eyes widened.
“Michiru, we've known each other for years, and although we've never kissed, or anything besides going out on occasional dates, I know in my heart that I love you, I would be willing to do anything to protect your life and heart. I want to be always there for you, and I long to hold you in my arms forever, so I, I wanted to…”
`Come on Tenoh, don't choke now!' Haruka gulped as she reached into her pocket. `It'sw now or never.'
“Kaioh Michiru, would you do the honor of mmarry8ing me?”
“Oh, Haruka I…”
`Here it comes…'
“I CAN'T!”
“W-what?” Haruka looked up to find Michiru very near tears.
“Oh, Haruka, I'm so sorry. I, Iwas going to tell you this morning, vut I, I…”
“T-tell me what, M-michiru.”
“I know, we had a great thing going, demo, I just couldn't see us together forever. I was, I was going to, to break up with, but I didn't know you were this serious about it. I thought we, I thought we were just in a beautiful crush relationship, I, I'm so sorry, Harukal I…”
“But what about all those evenings we spent together, those times we just curled up on the couch and you held me, or I you, what about all those times you said,” Haruka began to blink back tears. “When you said you loved me. Did all of that, did all of that mean nothing to you?” Michiru just shook her head, has tears began to fall down her face.
“I'm sorry. I'M SORRY!!” Michiru turned around and ran out of the mansion. Haruka watched her from the balcony as she ran out of the courtyard, and back into the alley, where Haruka lost sight of her. Then she just stood there, staring after her. It had all happened so fast. Haruka didn't want to believe it. She couldn't believe it. One second she was just preparing to kiss her, for the first time, and the nezt, she was gone forever.
“She is…”” Haruka realized. “She's really gone… forever.” Haruka sank down to her knees once agin, this time in agony. She lost all control, and just screamed. She screamed out from her hurt, her heart, and her mind. She screamed out from [ain, from sorrow, and from love. For the first time in her life, Tenoh Haruka began, to cry.
`How, HOW!! I thought what we had was real. I could feel your feelings, I could think your thoughts. Haw could this happen, Michiru. I, I love you, I told you that. You, weren't serious? Just a crush? Then why, why di you hold on to me for so lon? Were you just playing with me? Why? Michiru, Wnhy?' The wind gained strength, and the thunder began to roll as the drizzle turned into a dounpour. Haruka didn't know what to do, or where to go. Then, she remembered something.
`”If you ever want to talk, I''m here.”'
