Chapter 6- The Fate of the Generals:...We Had to Part


It has been over a month since the fateful time-travel trip that
reunited the Sailor Scouts and the Earth Generals of the Silver
Millennium.

At Cherry Hill Temple, everyone was gathered at the steps. Artemis
sat on Mina's lap while she sat on one of the steps with Marcus,
sitting next to her on her left. Amy and Zander stood by them,
holding hands. Opposite them, Neil stood next to a sitting Lita on
the bottom step on the opposite side of Mina and Marcus. Sitting in
the middle on the top step was Jared with Raye next to him on his
right Serena and Darien stood next by Neil with Luna in Serena's
arms.

"Well, I must say," Luna declared. "This is has been the most unusual
month."
"I'll say," Artemis replied. "I can't believe that you guys were
generals of Prince Darien on Earth. What I like to know is what
happened to you guys when the Negaforce attacked the Moon Kingdom."
Placing an arm around Raye, Jared said, "That's why we're here, and
we also want to know who those imposters were."
"And how Beryl came across with them," Neil added, crossing his arms.
"Were they clones or were they our real selves?" Zander questioned,
looking down, sadly. Amy squeezed his hand, comforting him.

"The answer is in these," Marcus claimed, holding up the malachite
pieces. "They reacted when Mina and I held them, but it wasn't
enough."
"We think it needs more power," Mina concluded. "That's why we asked
everyone here. Are you all able to give us some of your powers so we
can find out what really happened?" Each couple looked at each
other, and there were many nodding heads of approval.
"Let's do it!" Lita stood up, clenching her fist in the air. "I want
to find out if that witch Beryl had anything to do with this."
Standing up next to her, Neil nodded and placed his hand around her
waist.

Using her computer, Amy said, "I say with the amount of energy in
each of us, we'll be able to boost up the power of the malachite
pieces. However, we won't be time-travelling, we will only see
visions if we can also use your fire spirits, Raye."
"No problem," Raye agreed, she and Jared standing up. "Let's get
started." In the prayer room, the fire was lit. The whole group
formed a half-circle in front of the fire hearth. Starting at the
right and ending at the left were Raye, Jared, Lita, Neil, Serena,
Darien, Amy, Zander, Mina, and Marcus. The cats stood outside of the
circle. The malachite pieces were laid down in the center. Everyone
then held hands and closed their eyes. Raye began praying.

"Oh great spirits, please give us the necessary energy to enable us
to reveal the past of the Silver Millennium. We need to know what
happened to the generals of Prince Darien of Earth." The fire roared
and increased as Raye chanted, "Sun, moon, earth, stars, sun, moon,
earth, stars, sun, moon, earth, stars..."
The fire's roar intensified as Raye started to glow and as she did,
everyone started to chant and glow as well. Serena and Darien
stepped forward toward the pieces as they started to vibrate on the
floor. Taking off her brooch, Serena made the Silver Crystal appear,
and it glowed brightly. Placing their hands on it, the couple guided
the crystal down toward the malachite pieces. As soon as the glow
hit the pieces, they sprung up and circulated the floating crystal as
a merry-go-round. The couple then stepped back to their places.

As the malachite pieces circled the crystal, the glow within became
more brighter. Everyone felt the powers within themselves getting
stronger. The chanting stopped as the powers reached their maximum.
With the exception of Serena and Darien, everyone cried out as their
wands and stones floated from their pockets in front of them...
"Mars Crystal Power!"
"Jedite Stone Power!"
"Jupiter Crystal Power!"
"Nephlite Stone Power!"
"Mercury Crystal Power!"
"Zoicite Stone Power!"
"Venus Crystal Power!"
"Kunzite Stone Power!"
...and each of the girls' planet symbols appeared on their foreheads,
and glowing spots appeared on the men's chests.

For Darien, the Golden Crystal appeared in front of him, and for
Serena, her moon symbol appeared on her forehead. They looked at each
other, nodded, and faced the Silver Crystal.
"Golden Crystal Power!" Darien yelled, as a ray of golden light shot
from his crystal to the Silver Crystal.
"Eternal Moon Power!" Serena yelled, as a ray of moonlight shot from
her symbol to the Silver Crystal.
The Silver Crystal then shot rays of bright light, connecting with
the girls' planet symbols and the men's glowing spots. Their wands
and stones glowed with the necessary energy.
Covering their eyes with their paws, the cats could sense the growing
power. Artemis shouted, "It's working! Keep at it, guys!"
"The power of the Silver Crystal is allowing you to see your past!
Concentrate and it will appear in your visions!" Luna cried out.

Each person and cat began to see...

VISION BEGINS

The Moon Kingdom came into view, then it changed into the throne room
of Queen Serenity, sitting on the throne. Standing to her right are
are the Sailor Scouts in a straight line. Opposite them, also in a
straight line are the Earth Generals, wearing their dark blue
uniforms. Prince Darien and Princess Serena stood before the Queen.
In a sad tone, the Queen spoke, "A great evil is coming, and I fear
it will mark the downfall of the Moon Kingdom."
Everyone gasped. "Oh, Mother!" a distraught Serena said, her eyes
widening in shock and placing her hands against her cheeks. "It
cannot be. Not our beautiful home!"
"Your Majesty," a determined Darien said, flinging his cape to one
side. "I am at your service. I will do all I can to protect your
kingdom. My men and I are ready to assist you." He bowed and the
generals also bowed in unison and agreement with the prince's
decision.

Queen Serenity gave them a sad smile. "I'm afraid I cannot accept
your protection because the war will begin on Earth."
"Our home?" Nephlite cried out. "They're attacking the planet first?"
"The Moon and the Earth have always been at peace. If they attack
one..." Jedite informed. "...they will attack the other next."
"There is also more bad news," Zoicite spoke up. "There are rumors
spreading that the Moon people are not to be trusted."
"I think I know who may have started the rumor." Kunzite looked at
Darien who returned his look and nodded. "It could be that witch
Beryl."
"The Queen of the Negaverse?" Serena asked, puzzled. "Could she have
the power to do it?"
"We don't know, Serena," Darien responded. "But if she does, then my
men and I must leave right away to defend Earth."

Jupiter stepped up. "We're coming, too. To fight with you."
"No." Darien spoke low, but everyone heard him. "The Sailor Scouts
must remain here to protect the Moon Kingdom."
"Why?" Mercury asked. "We want to help."
"We can't let you face this evil by yourselves," Venus urged.
"You need all the help you can get," Mars agreed.
"Please, Sailor Scouts, I know it's a lot to ask, but I want you to
protect Serena, in case-" He paused to look at his men. "-neither of
any of us comes back."
There was silence in the room. As each person gazed upon the one they
love, their hearts wrenched in grief as they all nodded in silent
agreement.
"Time is short," the Queen finally spoke. "Please use it now to spend
your last moments together."

In every secluded corner of the Palace...

Venus and Kunzite held each other tightly, feeling their heart beats,
rapidly thumping. "It's not fair," Venus sobbed. "We were to be
engaged."
"I know." Kunzite felt a tear slid down his cheek. If there was
anything he could do to prevent this horrible war from happening, he
would do it. But, alas, there was nothing he could do. So he cupped
her face to gaze into her bright blue eyes. "Know this. I love you!"
And he kissed her tenderly. "With all my heart."
Staring into his gray eyes, she responded, "With all my heart, I love
you, too!"

Zoicite and Mercury held hands, tightly, as they stood close
together, their foreheads touching. Bringing her hands to his lips,
he kissed them while speaking, "I look forward to seeing you and your
lovely hands again." Bending his head, he pressed her hands to his
forehead. "I love you."
"And I love you," Mercury said, lifting his head with her hands and
gently kissing him. They stared at each other. "Like our hands," she
said. "Our love will never let go. And my love will never leave your
side."
"Neither will mine."

"Oh, Nephlite, why is this happening?" An angry Jupiter wept on her
lover's shoulder.
"Let's not think that now." Nephlite swept her into his arms. "I want
to leave with the feel of you dancing in my arms."
Despite her tears, Jupiter laughed softly as they waltzed in the tune
of their or their love for each other. "With you, I could dance
forever."
He kissed her as they continued dancing. "You are my partner forever.
I love you."
"And I love you, partner."

"I don't want you to go," Mars whispered as Jedite held her.
"And I don't want to leave," he whispered back. When they started to
kiss, they knew that there was no other choice.
"I-love-you-my-dear," Jedite kissed every word on Mars' lips.
"And-I-love-you," Mars responded. Then she snuggled into his arms.
"Please hold me." They held each other closely.
"No matter what happens," he whispered into her ear. "You and I are
one always."
"Always," she whispered back. "We will never part." They shared one
last kiss.

Darien and Serena held each other. "Oh, Darien, I fear I'll never see
you again," she cried into his chest.
"Serena," he lamented. "I promise you. I will always come to you
throughout time and space. We will be free to love each other
forever."
She stared at him lovingly. "You are in my heart."
He stared back at her lovingly. "And you'll always be in mine."
As they kissed, the Silver Crystal on Queen Serenity's crescent wand
glowed. The Queen smiled, knowing that her daughter and her love
will always be together forever.


Kunzite and Zoicite stood at Darien's right while Nephlite and Jedite
stood at his left, standing in the center of the throne room. Serena
and her scouts stood facing them, a few feet away. The Queen used her
moon magic to create transportation orbs for the men to return to
Earth. As each orb envelops each one, they stared at their loved
ones and the girls stared back...

SONG BEGINS

SONG ENDS

...and the generals with their Prince disappeared. The Princess and
her scouts wept silently as Queen Serenity bows her head in sorrow.

SCENE RETURNS TO TEMPLE-*VISION NOT OVER YET*

Luna and Artemis gasped in wonderment. "Incredible," Luna said. "The
scouts and the generals in love with each other! And it was before
the attack of the Negaverse!"
"Look!" Artemis yelled. "The malachite pieces! They're turning into a
bigther color of green. There must be more to see!"
Both cats cried out, "Keep concentrating, everyone! We've got to find
out more on the fate of the Generals!"
Everyone concentrated harder, and the Silver Crystal grew brighter,
and the pieces circled faster.

RETURN TO VISION

It was a dark day outside the realms of Prince Darien's castle. The
battlefield was filled with many Negaverse creatures, defeating most
of the soldiers. The prince, tired but determined, fought with all
his might. One creature managed to knock him down and was about to
strike when Kunzite pushed Darien out of the way. Zoicite, Jedite,
and Nephlite blasted the creature with their sword phasers.
Suddenly, four creatures appeared and snagged the generals by the
necks using extensions of their arms as ropes. Struggling, the men
tried to break free. Darien rose to help them when he heard,
"Mercury Bubbles...Blast!"
"Mars Fire...Ignite!"
"Jupiter Thunder...Crash!"
"Venus Crescent Beam...Smash!"

Each rope was sliced off, and each creature was evaporated by a power
of a Sailor Scout. They ran to their loved ones who were on their
knees, gasping and coughing. Then everyone heard a wicked laugh
above them, and they looked up into the dark sky. Floating like an
evil creature of the night was Beryl. Beyond her loomed a giant dark
being. The Negaforce!
With a wave of its arm, the being created a dark cyclone, and it
headed toward the group below. Everyone screamed as the cyclone
enveloped them. Four forms were lifted into the air. Other four forms
grasped their hands, trying to hold onto to them. But the cyclone was
too powerful, and hands were wrenched apart.
When the cyclone lifted, only Prince Darien and the scouts remained
on the ground. Looking up, they all watched in horror as the generals
were swept away. The girls cried out in anguish,
"NOOOOO!!!!!"
...as they saw their soul mates disappear with the cyclone. Laughing
wickedly, Beryl vanished, and the Negaforce vanished also.
Prince Darien could not believe this was happening.

Slowly regaining consciousness, Kunzite noticed he was held up
against a wall by magic iron locks, bound at his wrists and ankles.
Looking to his right, he noticed the other generals were in the same
position, but they were unconscious.
'We must be in some sort of prison,' he thought. Then he noticed that
they were not alone because standing a few feet opposite them were
themselves!
Kunzite blinked twice to make sure it was an illusion. It wasn't.
Their doubles were wearing gray uniforms, and their eyes were closed.
Floating in front of their chests were stones. The stone in front of
the Zoicite clone was transferring energy from the real Zoicite. The
stones from the clones of Nephlite and Jedite were finished with the
transferring, and those clones were fully charged and glowing.
Zoicite's clone was not complete because the real Zoicite was
resisting, despite his consciousness.

Kunzite realized that once Zoicite was done, his transfer will begin,
too. 'I must prevent my energy from going through that stone,' he
thought. He managed to zap his iron locks off with his power, and he
fell to the floor, exhausted. He had not much time left. Zoicite was
nearly losing his battle with the transfer beam.
'My friends,' Kunzite thought, sadly, reaching out to touch Zoicite's
hand as if to reassure him. The second he did, the last of Zoicite's
power jolted into him. At the same time, the Zoicite clone's hand
jerked and grabbed onto the hand of the Kunzite clone.
Gasping in shock from the new jolt of power from Zoicite, Kunzite
realized his transfer was about to begin! Using the added power, he
created a gem covering of malachite for the stone in front of his
clone. The stone was covered just in time as the transfer beam from
the clone enveloped over the malachite covering and hit Kunzite in
the chest. Kunzite fell into unconsciousness as he was slammed
against the wall.

When he awoke again, he saw the other generals looking down at him.
They managed to free themselves with their powers. Jedite and
Nephlite breathed sighs of relief as Zoicite bent to help him up.
"We don't have time," Nephlite said. "The clones are gone."
"Beryl created them using our energy," Jedite informed. "We're still
on Earth."
"They're going to attack the Moon Kingdom," Zoicite said. "The prince
is there. He escaped with the Sailor Scouts."
Kunzite nodded. "We'll use our power to transport." Then he noticed
the four stones, lying on the floor by his feet. Picking them up, he
stared at them, especially at the malachite one. Pocketing them, he
held out his hands. "Let's go!"
Forming a circle with their hands, the Earth Generals concentrated,
and, in a flash of light, they disappeared.

On the moon, the Negaforce arrived with its army. At the palace
gates, the Sailor Scouts used their powers to defend their castle,
but it was useless. Gasping in horror, they faced the hideous being.
"PATHETIC HUMANS!" cried the Negaforce. "I WILL VANQUISH YOU!"
And with a powerful zap of power, the being flung the screaming
scouts into the air. Approaching the castle, the generals saw what
happened and yelled in terror,
"NOOOOO!!!!!"
...as their beloved soul mates fell hard onto the ground.

Then the Earth Generals saw Queen Beryl leading the army with the
four clones. On seeing the fallen scouts, each clone went to their
chosen scout who were still alive and struggling. At that point, the
generals dashed to rescue them, but it was too late. Running and
watching in utter horror, they saw each clone stab their loves with
their swords.
Screaming in agony and frustration, the Earth Generals stopped and
fell to their knees, beating their fists on the ground.

Everything went black, and a flash of light occurred.
