Chapter 2- Jedite and Raye:...I Kissed Your Lips
A week has gone by since Darien's and Serena's time-travel trip to
the Silver Millennium.
DREAM BEGINS
A male figure in a dark blue general uniform was reaching out his
arms to her. Super Sailor Mars was running to him, arms also
outstretched to him. As she was enveloped in his embrace, he lifted
her chin with his finger up to look into her eyes. The image of his
face was hazy, yet she could make out that he had short wavy blond
hair. Bending his head down, she nearly felt his lips on hers...
DREAM ENDS
With a gasp, Raye sprang up from her bed, awake. After controlling
her breathing to a steady calmness, she got out of bed and went to
the prayer room in her temple of Cherry Hill.
Across the city of Tokyo, Jared woke from his sleep, breathing hard.
'It's happening again,' he thought, running his hand through his
short wavy blond hair. 'I'm having dreams of Sailor Mars, but why?
I try kissing her, but my dreams end before I had a chance to. Do I
know her? Have I met her before?' He shook his head. 'I better find
out what these dreams mean or else I'll be distracted teaching karate
class.'
Then he heard a loud humming. Getting up, he walked out of his
bedroom toward the sound.
After lighting a fire in the hearth, Raye kneeled and whispered a few
prayers. "Oh, great spirits of fire, please reveal me the identity of
the figure in my dreams. Who is he? I must know!"
The flames leapt high and a figure appeared, causing Raye to gasp in
shock. Jedite!
But she frowned in confusion. This person does look like Jedite, but
his general uniform was dark blue, and there was no wickedness in his
eyes, just kindness and goodness. Raye then felt her Mars symbol
glow on her forehead. In the fire, the image then changed to Serena
and Darien, holding the Silver Crystal. Then the image vanished, and
the fire died down.
Going back to her room, Raye took out her Mars Crystal Wand. Staring
at it, she thought, 'Tomorrow, I'll talk to Darien and Serena. They
know something, and I'm going to find out!'
Arriving at his den room, Jared opened the door and walked in. The
loud humming was coming from his desk. Walking over to it, he opened
his top drawer on the right. The stone that rested there was not only
humming but glowing as well. Picking it up, Jared stared at it.
"My jedite stone," he said. "This is the second time it reacted like
this." He recalled the first time this happened five years ago.
He was having a dream that he was fighting three sailor scouts. It
was so hazy that he couldn't see their faces. Then one of them threw
a magical spell scroll on his back and he was paralyzed. Then he was
run down by an airplane. The next thing he knew he was standing in
front of a woman, wounded. The woman had a crystal ball floating
before her.
"I must have made her angry because she then encased me in a glass
coffin." He kept staring at his stone. "Then I awoke from that
nightmare to find this piece of jedite stone floating in front of
my chest as I sat up. It glowed and hummed once, but it never reacted
again until now."
As he turned one way, the stone's glowing and humming faded, but when
he faced another way, it glowed and hummed again. 'This is acting
like a locating device!' he thought. 'If I use this, maybe it can
lead me to the answers in my dreams. Maybe I'll meet her.'
He sighed loudly as if he hoped he would. "Sailor Mars." Enclosing
the stone in his hand, he made a determined look.
"I'll start tomorrow."
At Cherry Hill Temple, Raye told Serena and Darien about her dream
and then listened as they told her what had happened to them and what
they had discovered. After they finished, she was quiet for a while.
Then she sat down on one of the temple steps and pressed her
transformation wand to her forehead. Finally, she spoke.
"I don't believe it. How can Jedite be one of your Generals, Darien?
It makes no sense at all."
"Raye..." Darien began.
"NO!" Raye shot to her feet, furious. "I won't accept it! He attacked
the Moon Kingdom, along with the other Negaverse creeps and that
sleaze queen Beryl. When we reawakened as Sailor Scouts, he was our
first enemy. He tried to kill Amy, Serena, and me at the airport!
Darien, we thought he drowned you when you two fought!"
Serena held her by the shoulders, all of a sudden. "Raye, calm down!
That wasn't even the real Jedite. We both believe he could be one of
Beryl's clones!"
Raye opened her mouth to say more, but couldn't find anything else to
say. She slumped to the ground, her head bent. "How could I have
been involved with someone like that?" she asked, whispering.
Darien knelt to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. She looked
up at him.
"It's very confusing to all of us," he said, soothingly. "But I
believe the Jedite in your dreams was not the one working for Beryl."
Looking in his eyes for a while, Raye somehow knew he was right. And
she knew what she had to do. Getting up, she raised up her wand and
exclaimed, "Mars Crystal Power, Make Up!"
Super Sailor Mars then stood before the couple. "Serena, I need you
to transport me to the very spot where the Negaverse Jedite went to
after we defeated him. Maybe I can find the answers there."
Nodding, Serena took her brooch and held it up. Darien stood next to
her and joined his hand with hers, holding the brooch. Closing their
eyes, they concentrated. The Silver Crystal appeared and transformed
them into Princess Serena and Prince Darien. Then the crystal glowed
bright and a zap of light shot out and enveloped Mars in a huge orb.
Then she was gone.
Jared was walking towards Cherry Hill street when he approached the
temple entrance. His jedite stone then pulsed like a heartbeat.
'This is the place,' he thought and entered the courtyard. He was
startled as he came upon the scene of Super Sailor Mars disappearing
in a flash of light. Running toward the couple who were left behind,
he yelled, "Wait!"
Darien and Serena turned, surprised at being discovered, but when
they saw who it was, they relaxed. Abruptly stopping before them,
Jared demanded, "What have you done to her? Bring her back!"
Noticing the stone in his hand, Prince Darien smiled. "It is you,
Jedite, old friend. Good to see you again."
Arching an eyebrow, Jared stared at him. "Jedite? What are you
talking about? My name is Jared. I don't know any Jedite."
"Jedite is who you were in the Silver Millenium," explained Princess
Serena. "You were a General for Prince Darien of Earth. But, in this
present time, you are Jared."
Jared finally noticed the royal dress wear that they have on. At
first, he thought they were nuts, but started having second thoughts.
'Silver Millennium? General? Prince? Why does it all sound familiar?'
he thought.
He shook his head, then said, "Look, I don't know what is going on,
but please, I need to see Sailor Mars. Bring her back, I beg you!"
The royal couple looked at each other and nodded. "We will send you
to her," Darien said.
"You can?"
"We give you our word as Prince Darien and Princess Serena," promised
Serena. "Do you trust us?"
Staring at them, Jared felt reassurance. He felt as if he knew this
royal couple before, and the fact they knew Mars was enough for him.
"Yes."
Holding up the Silver Crystal, Serena and Darien closed their eyes
and concentrated. The crystal glowed and, to Jared's astonishment,
his clothes changed into a dark blue general uniform. There was a zap
of light, and he was gone.
Mars found herself in a cavernous throne room. She sensed an evil
presence that used to be here. "Beryl," she whispered. Seeing the
ruined throne of the dead sleaze queen, she walked over to it and
halted at the steps before it. Holding up her wand, she concentrated.
The Mars Crystal glowed and Mars saw the vision of what happened to
the evil Jedite. He was desperately begging Beryl to hear his
information about the identities of the three Sailor Scouts who
defeated him. Ignoring his pleas, Beryl encased him in a glass
coffin, and he disappeared, doomed to sleep forever.
Snapping her eyes open, Mars collected herself. 'So that's what
happened to him,' she thought, then smirked. 'Well, serves him
right, the creep!'
Hearing footsteps behind her, she whirled around, ready to fight.
Her eyes widened at the sight of Jedite, standing before her. But he
wasn't the evil one. He was the one from her dreams.
"Oh!" she said, in awe. "It's you!"
Jared's heart was pounding. Here she was, standing in front of him.
The woman of his dreams, Super Sailor Mars. 'How beautiful she is,'
he thought, taking in her long purple black hair and her violet eyes.
He held up his hand to assure her of his good intentions. "I mean you
no harm, Sailor Mars. My name is Jared. I wish to speak with you."
Mars spoke, "How did you get here?"
"My guess is in the same way you did."
Rolling her eyes, Mars smiled. "I should have guessed that meatball
head princess and her prince were behind this. But how did you find
my temple in the first place?"
"With this." Jared held up his jedite stone. Suddenly, it started to
glow as Mars' wand also began to glow. Then both objects flew out of
their owners' hands and came together between them. The objects
started to encircle within each other as the glowing became brighter
and brighter. Then there was an explosion of light.
Mars and Jared found themselves standing by the shore of a lake.
"Where are we?" Jared asked.
Mars looked around. "I believe that we have traveled into the past to
the Silver Millennium. Look!" She pointed to a familiar looking
couple who were walking toward them.
"Prince Darien! Princess Serena! Hey, it's me!" Mars waved to them,
but they passed by as if she weren't there. "Huh? What's going on?"
"I don't think they can see or hear us." Jared observed the loving
royal couple, holding hands as they moved on.
"That's right! This happened to them when they time traveled." Mars
figured.
Jared then pointed across the lake. "Sailor Mars, look!"
A rowboat was coming toward the shore, and in it was a couple. As
they landed on the shore, a man with blond hair, wearing a dark blue
uniform, helped out a woman with purple black hair, wearing a red
princess gown, step onto the shore.
"That's us!" Mars whispered, beginning to remember. "We're in Earth's
past."
"Yes," Jared whispered back, also remembering. "Because this is where
we had..."
"...our first kiss," she finished.
Giggling, Princess Raye held General Jedite's hand as they walked
from the boat to a maple tree.
"My dearest Raye, I am having a wonderful time with you, though I
wish you could stay a little longer," Jedite said, squeezing her
hand, affectionately.
"And I want to stay!" Raye exclaimed, grabbing his other hand. They
both stopped and faced each other. "But I must return to the moon and
resume my duty to the Moon Princess as Sailor Mars."
Jedite's face fell in sadness. "It will be a while until we see each
other again." Placing his hand on her shoulders, he pulled her toward
him. "I, uh,- I..."
"Yes?" Raye placed her hands at his waist, pulling him closer to her.
Their hearts pounded as they looked into each other's eyes with such
devotion. Jedite ran his finger down her cheek, and Raye caressed his
with her hand.
Staring at her rosebud mouth, he murmured, "Raye."
"Jedite," she responded, staring at his sensual lips. Then he looked
into her violet eyes.
"May I?" he whispered.
"You may," she whispered back, staring into his purple eyes.
Jedite smiled, his heart leaping for joy. He was going to kiss the
woman he loved for so long. Bending his head, he brushed his nose
against hers. Raye sighed, wistfully, moving into his arms. Feeling
her fast beating heart, she realized that the man she loved for so
long was going to kiss her.
Softly, so softly, Jedite placed a feathery kiss on her lips, then
another, and finally sealed his lips upon hers, hugging her close to
him. Raye snuggled closer, accepting his kiss.
At that moment, they knew...

An explosion of light occurred. Sailor Mars and Jared found

Mars looked at him in bewilderment, hearing the anguish in his voice.

Jared turned to look back at her.

his eyes. Stepping up to him, she held his face in her hands and
brought his lips to hers. Jared's arms went around her waist as he
held her tightly.
'So sweet,' he thought, kissing her.
'So gentle,' she thought, kissing him.
They finally broke apart and gazed at each other, smiling. "I guess
we have a lot to talk about," he spoke.
"Yeah," she responded, blushing. "We should go back and talk."
Jared held up his jedite stone. "Are you ready?"
"Mmm-hmmm!" Mars held up her crystal wand. They both held hands and
concentrated until their objects created a flash of light, and they
were gone.
They appeared in front of the temple, alone and back in their normal
clothes. "I guess Serena and Darien figured we'd do OK by ourselves."
Raye said.
"I would like to meet them again," Jared replied. "But first, we have
a lot of catching up to do."
"Yeah. Would you like some tea?"

"I don't know what will happen from now on," she whispered. "But I
hope you'll become part of my life."
"I intend to," he whispered back. "Just as you will become part of
mine."
Smiling warmly, the couple entered the temple, holding hands.
