InvincibleInuYasha: OMG! Anime NEXT was awesome! And so much fun! So many people in cosplay and I got some autographs! If you want it in more detail, let me know. Anyway, there's a real change in attitude in the first characters. It might be a little confusing. Just giving you the heads-up.

P.S.- I had a question about Sailors Neptune and Uranus. Why aren't they there to help? Well, I didn't really know where to put them. Let's just say, they never showed up, the scouts never met them. So, they do not help. There.

Trapped

Chapter Ten

Usagi sighed as she sat in an armchair, holding a hand to her growing stomach, and said quietly, "I've been thinking. About what happened six months ago. When you... when you killed my friends." Skyler, sitting across from her said, "Okay. And?" Usagi said, "I've gotten over it. I had gotten over it a while ago." Skyler smirked, "So, does that mean you don't hate me anymore?" Usagi looked away from him, "I don't know. You've done so many unforgivable things to me. But... you've also done things that made me feel much better, done things I've never done before. I can't decide whether or not to forgive you just yet." Skyler shrugged, "Well, it seems I've done something right. You're talking to me about it, so I guess I've stepped up quite a bit from before." Usagi gave a small smile, "Yeah." Her smile faded away and she said, "But you keep me locked away. I want to see my family, or at least let them know I'm okay. And, I want to see some of my old friends. But I'm being caged like an animal..." Skyler closed his eyes and sighed, "Wait. Until the child is born. Then you can see your family and show them your son. While you're out there, you can see the new city I've created." Usagi got up and left the room, not wanting to imagine what Skyler had done to her home.

Skyler got up and followed her, "Wait. What's wrong?" Usagi stopped walking, but didn't say anything. Syler wrapped his arms around her from behind and whispered in her ear, "Tell me. I'll make it better." Usagi pulled herself away from him and faced him, "I'm angry! I haven't been out in months, I don't know how my family is doing, I don't know what you did to my city, and I don't know if the city has been attacked! I'm supposed to protect it, and with the Senshi gone, anything can happen!" Tears came to her eyes as she mumbled, "It's my fault..." Skyler came closer to her and said, "No, it's mine. Don't worry about it. All I've been doing is getting rid of a few things in the way, and I'm rebuilding the city, making it better. I made sure to keep your family safest, so you don't have to worry at all." Usagi said, "I have the feeling I've been brainwashed by you and your words. And I know it's too late to reverse it. I think I've fallen for you. And I have no idea why." Skyler closed the space between them and pulled her close for a passionate kiss. When they broke apart, Skyler said, "But it's okay with me." A small smile escaped through the tears in Usagi's eyes.

"Supreme Thunder!" Jupiter shot a lightning bolt at a large spider-like machine. A gamma ray gun opened up from the top and shot at Sailor Jupiter. She leapt away and just missed it. Sailor Venus shouted, "Sailor V Kick!" She kicked two of the legs at once, and used her Venus Love-Me Chain to pull three from the other side. The machine collapsed and Sailor Jupiter quickly punched a glowing red light, the control source, and knocked out the machine. The two senshi panted in exhaustion. It was only them two now. They still haven't found anything that could be Usagi's possible survival, but they still fought to the end for the sake of the city.

Sailor Jupiter said, "It's getting harder and harder each time. The person who's making these, I think it's Skyler, must be keeping track of how we defeat his machines. He's changing them so we can't do the same things we did before." Sailor Venus nodded, "Yeah, I think that's it. And he sends out so many of them we can't stop them all. He's already destroyed half of the city, but surprisingly, there were no casualties. I don't know what he's planning." Sailor Jupiter began kicking off the legs of the machine and pulling them away. Without Sailor Moon to make them disappear with her moon wand, they had to clean up whatever they had defeated. Sailor Jupiter said, "You know what are usual enemies are capable of. Maybe he's keeping them alive to turn them into his minions. They'd attack us, and we couldn't fight back." Sailor Venus began dragging another leg away, throwing it into a nearby dumpster, "That would be horrible. He's planning on taking over the city, I'm sure of it. But the people? They aren't strong at all. Not like us, we were born like this." Sailor Jupiter broke another part of the machine's leg, dragging it away, "Well, we know that and he knows that, but he also knows that we can't hurt them. He'll use them as scapegoats maybe." Sailor Venus sighed, "I guess until he unleashes his major plans, we should take out any more of these machines. Protect at least some part of the city." Sailor Jupiter said, "I guess that's what we'll have to do."

Skyler shut off the TV screen on which showed the battle of the remaining senshi versus his machine. He snickered at the simple mistake he made that made his machine all too vulnerable. He would have to fix it.

Usagi loved her friends, even through all of this, Skyler knew that clearly. So, he wasn't going to kill the scouts, only keep them busy with his machines, while others took the city. He went over the the small door near the corner of the room and opened it, going down through the second entrance to the dungeons. He also had a lab there, where he made numerous weapons that would make the military jealous. Through a narrow, hidden passage he went and opened another small door, which revealed a huge, underground lab. In darker parts of the room were some cages, some moaning, some snarling. On the other walls was a rack full of weapons. He shut the door behind him and strode across the room, where a large spider-like machine, very similar to the one that fought the Sailor Senshi, being held up by thick cables.

Skyler used one of the cables to lower it, and he went underneath it with a thick metal plate in his hand. The glowing center, the control center of the maching, was bright. That was the vulnerable spot in his last machine. He held the plate over the light and snapped his fingers. A flame flared on the tip of his finger as he welded the plate in place. When he was done, he whirled his finger in the air, the flame going out. Just a plate of metal was enough to stop the scouts. He laughed at himself for his clumsy mistake. Now that that was taken care of, there would be no problem.

He walked over to another wall of the room where a large, super-computer stood. In the large panel of keys, buttons, and switches, he pressed three. The mecha-spider twitched in response. The legs then scuttered around, pulling it away from and ripping the cables holding it back. Skyler smirked, satisfied, and pressed another key. A wall opened up to reveal a long tunnel, dimly lit by the sunlight at the end. The mecha-spider crawled into it, the wall lowering behind it. Skyler turned and left his laboratory, "Just a matter of time now..."

Usagi sighed and sat on the edge of her bed, moving her hand in a light caress over her growing womb. Worried thoughts raced through her mind. What was Skyler doing to the city? Were people being hurt? Why was she staying here? It was all too confusing, and in her mind, she wasn't supposed to do anything. She knew something happened to her that somehow made her stay with Skyler, not doing anything to stop him, to always be submissive towards him. And she also knew that she couldn't stop it. She wiped her eyes, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. How could she just have his child and live like this? It seemed impossible to even be able to stand it, but she was doing just fine. She felt no urge to leave him, just to go outside. She never came across a thought of betrayal towards him. It was strange, but she was happy with him. But all of the thinking about this made her upset.

Usagi got up and walked to the door. She walked down the corridor until she reached the one that led upstairs. But she didn't go up. She didn't want to leave.

A small scratching noise came from the other side of the door, as if something wanted to come in. Usagi, curious, walked slowly up the stairs, one hand under her belly and one on the banister, until she reached the top. She opened the door an inch wide. There was noone on the other side.

"Usagi-chan!" A familiar voice came from close to the floor that startled Usagi. She looked at the source and cried, "Luna!?"
