They finally arrived to a town as the sun was beginning to settle down. It was a quiet place, nothing seemed to be happening. It was either empty or people had curfew.

"This place looks far too quiet" Sanzo said, throwing his cigarette butt away while looking around for lodging.
Gojyo simply nodded his head in agreement, indeed it was just a bit too quiet. He scanned the area that they were in as they walked, nope there was really no one about that he could see. Goku also had to agree, it was far, far too quiet even for his liking, just where were the busy market stalls, and the delicious smelling food. Great, just their luck to wind up in some creepy town.

"Something's defienatley not right here." Hakkai, crossed his arms. He didn't like the feel of this. Something wasn't quite right.

A woman opened her curtains and looked at them as they passed by. As Sanzo turned his head to face her she shut it again. "Something has happened here."

"Looks that way...but, what do you think could have happened that it'd be this eeriely quiet?" He asked, and even though there was no one about, he could certainly feel eyes on him from everywhere.
"Che, what a creepy place we have here...and do any of you besides me feel like we're being watched?"

Goku sighed. This was annoying, he ran ahead of the others stopping in a reasonable clearing not too far from the others.
"Hey!! Anyone here!!" He called, golden eyes scanning the area for any signs of life, finding none.

Gojyo looked to Goku momentarily, it was worth a shot calling out even if the place did seem obviously dead and no one was likely to answer. As they neared the monkey he shook his head lightly, he had a bad feeling that the next town was a couple of days away…
"Che, I think they're all in the buildings just watching our every move..."
He muttered just loudly enough for the other three to catch on to his words.

Sanzo looked around again and could see pairs of eyes at every window.

"Tch...." he sounded.
There was a light coming from a window not too far ahead. It was probably a motel, since they had a bed sigh on the wall.

"At least not everyone is hiding." he said to them and turned to Hakkai. "We should stop there. I'm getting tired of this."

Goku sighed, he didn't like this place, why did they always end up in some messed up town? Always, why couldn't they just go somewhere normal, just for once?
"I'm hungry...." he grumbled again, walking with the others towards the motel,
"I hope they have something to eat there." He added, his stomach giving him an almost pleading growl.

Gojyo didn't say much as they headed towards the motel, although he had to agree with Goku, there had better be some food there. He wasn't going to say it but he was beginning to get really hungry himself. He was also looking out the sides of his eyes up at some of the windows, sometimes catching a glimpse of a person at it. The next town they went had better not be as creepy as this one.

 

Kougaji walked along side his friend noticing the still air. They came to a stop just outside the town looking about the eerie place.

"Hey..I believe the Sanzo party is in this town. Let's pay a little visit. We need to find out if they have seen this demon around here.....getting the scripture will have to come later..." He said as he looked over to Dokugaku.

Dokugakuji nodded to Kougaiji, resting his sword on his back, his free hand scratching behind his elongated ear "Sounds good to me, Lord Kougaiji. Guess I wont be needin' this" He held his sword behind his back and let it escape back into the forth dimension. "...My lord, isn't this the first time we've ever tried to talk to them without attempting to get the scriptures? What changed that she-fox's mind?"

"Yes...Yes it is." He smiled a bit. Watching his comrade put away his sword. "I don't know what she is up to...she probably wants rid of it to get out of her way..." Kougaiji said with an unsure shrug glancing to him again. "Dokugakuji, don't put that away so soon....there maybe something up ahead...and I also see the sanzo party... It seems they sense it as well..." He added while quickening his pace into the town.

Dokugakuji nodded and pulled out his sword again and quickened his pace to, catching up with the demon prince easily. He paused before he reached the Sanzo-ikkou though, his own demonic senses becoming overwhelmed, "...Lord Kougaiji was right.." he muttered under his breath, "something's definitely not right here..."
Doku shook his head and trotted to Gojyo, grabbing his shoulder before he could go any further, "Gojyo". It wasn't a question, it was a statement, or, more like a demand for the man's attention.

Gojyo more or less jumped at that, grabbed his shoulder out the grasp and turned readying his hand to summon the shakujou staff, however after hearing his name being spoken, and recognising the voice he lowered his hand.
"Oh, it's just you. What the fuck d'you two want?" The kappa asked while blinking wondering why he was here also hoping that they weren't looking for a fight, the hunger level in him was rising thus he couldn't think of anything else but food...wait...he was starting to turn into that monkey. The other three stopped and turned, Sanzo's hand itching towards his gun just incase.

Kougaji walked up behind Doku, glancing at Gojyo." We're not here to fight you… we've have come to ask if you guys have seen anything suspicious...we felt an in-balance in this town...we believe it's the demon we are after..." He looked around the empty hotel, then at the other members of the party, seeing the monk itching for the gun brought an amused smirk to his face. "Hello Sanzo..."

"Demon you're after? I've not seen anything in particular that comes over as suspicious, unless you count the eerie silence and people watching our every move from windows?" He asked, hoping that Kougaiji could explain a little more about the demon.

Sanzo stared at Kougaiji and lit another fag. "You two are the in-balance. What are you doing here? A pretty lame approach to get the sutra, don't you thing, pretty boy?"

"People are scared" he added after Gojyo's comment.

Gojyo turned his head to look at Sanzo over his shoulder for a second before looking ahead of himself again at the other two.
"I know that, baldy. I'm not that stupid you know."

"Tsc... that's hard to tell." he said sarcastically and smoked turning back to Kougaiji. "Whatever it is, I couldn't care less." he turned his back to them and walked on towards the motel. "I'm feeding the monkey then I'm off to bed."

"You could care less about everything, stupid priest...che...gimme' another fag before you feed your chimp and then disappear." Gojyo snapped, not quite appreciating the comment from the monk although laughed inwardly at the monkey. “Spoiled lil' chimp”

"Yay Sanzo, thank you!!!" Goku shouted, giving Sanzo a quick hug before running off to the motel.

Sanzo forced a pissed off face when Goku hugged him and sighed. He stopped at the motel door.He held the pack between his fingers.

"Come and get it, kappa." he said quietly with the fag in his mouth.

"Can't you buy your own cigarettes? I'm sarting to feel like a sole provider of a family I didn't even want."

"Che... fine I will" He replied to Sanzo ignoring the previous comment, as he walked up to him and plucked the pack out of his fingers, taking one of the cigarettes and lighting it -yes he did actually have a lighter on him- and gave him the pack back. He took a draw of the cancer-stick before answering Sanzo again.
"And yes, I would buy my own if I had money...or if I had that friggin' card of yours, don't start on me baldy." He muttered just so he could hear him.

Hakkai turned to quickly apologise to the two demons before hastily going to catch up with the other three of his own party, staying quiet for now. The journey had tired him out completely and Gojyo still occupied his mind.

"Hey, Hakkai. You alright? You've been unusually quiet today." Gojyo said to his friend as he caught up, raising a brow in concern at him. Hakkai simply nodded his head and walked on ahead of him. He couldn't discuss his problems right at this moment.

 

Goku also treaded on into the small motel after Hakkai. He poked his head around the door, looking into the room beyond.
"Hellooooooooo!!! Anyone there!!?"

A woman, who looked very scared came to the reception. "S-sorry... we don't get...v-visitors very often. May I be of any help?" she asked Goku but turned her head to look to Sanzo after he'd shoved the monkey through the door fully and came after him.
"We need four rooms" he said harshly clearly annoyed at Goku.
"F-four? B-but we only have two, sir.” She said nervously

Gojyo caught the part about there only being two rooms as he followed the priest in, he guessed he could live with that as long as there were two single friggin beds in it not that they'd actually come across any problems where there wasn't...yet.

"Two rooms? I'm not sharing with that perverted kappa," he said glaring at Gojyo, he was still mad at him from earlier. Gojyo frowned and then shot a glare back at Goku before raising hell again.
"That's it! Come here you stupid little chimp!" He growled, grabbing hold of the smaller youths arm.
"I'm not a friggin pervy kappa so take it back mini monkey! And I don't particularly want to share a room with you either, so you had better ask your owner nicely for a swap!" He said raising his voice a little more.
"Yes you are," Goku said poking his tongue out at Gojyo and trying to make him release his arm,

"So, no I wont take it back." he added, finally making Gojyo let him go he ran a small distance from Gojyo with a grin, the grin faltering when his stomach growled harshly, a laugh coming from the kappa.

 

"Kappa?" she frowned looking a bit confused at the red-haired hanyou before turning back to the blonde. "As I said... not many visitors come by. All the men had left to hunt down youkai who turned evil all of a sudden. They scared them away, but sometimes they come back. Now the men have been gone for some time and we have no news." she said, holding back the tears stinging at the back of her eyes while fixing their room keys.
Sanzo sighed ignoring the two idiots and the healer and put the credit card on the desk. "Where they in this village? The youkai?"
"No, they were from a nearby one" she replied. "I'm sorry for the two rooms, this is a small hostel, we have only three rooms and one is already occupied by someone."
"We also need food." he added noticing that Goku was almost dying from lack of food not to far from where he stood.
The receptionist gave a nod and quickly left to the kitchen. Sanzo looked weary. All women and kids, that's why they had been hiding when they arrived, four strange men, no wonder.
"I'm not sharing my room at all. You three can share one, I need some space." he said after a while.

"What! To hell with that Sanzo! I refuse to share with both Hakkai AND your pet!" He said getting straight to the point. "Besides....they'd make me sleep on the floor."

 

The woman soon came back with a tray of left over food she'd managed to get from the kitchen setting it down on the desk looking apologetically at the men.
"I'm sorry, these are the left overs' from dinner, there will be a better breakfast in the morning.”

"Yay food!!! Thank you!!" he said grinning at the woman before he devoured his meal. “Oh, and.... about the rooms..." Sanzo raised his brows and looked at her as she finished the sentence "They are double beds."
