SD Gundam Fan Fiction ❯ Twilight's Gleam ❯ Where's My Samurai? ( Chapter 8 )
The rest of the SDG force were stunned to see Zero back to life after what he was definitely labeled as dead. At first, some of them were scared to go near Zero, but after about a day, they accepted that Zero was back, and acted like he never did die in the first place.

Where's my samurai?
Zero was currently trying to find Baku in the base. " Hm, where could he be!?" He tried checking the samurai's room again, but he was still not there. " Helooooo?" He got down on his knees and peeked under the bed, hoping that by some strange chance he would be there. " Damnit!"
" Looking for something?" Zero hit his head on the frame of the bed as he was startled by the voice. " Ow!" He striated up, and rubbed his head. " Oh, hello Guneagle. I am looking for something, as a matter of fact….have you seen Baku?"
" Nope, haven't seen your boyfriend around." Guneagle shrugged. Zero blushed slightly at the boyfriend comment.
" Well, I've searched just about everywhere in the base!"
" Then maybe he's outside the base." Zero froze. " Er….dmanit!" he cursed. Guneagle tilted his head. " Somethin' up, bro?"
" My eyes are just really sensitive to the sunlight right now…" Guneagel nodded. " Yeah, I hear ya. It's to friggin' bright out today! Well, hope you find your mate, mate!" He then casually walked off. Zero rolled his eyes. Strange how no one really knocks anymore. Oh well.
I've been searching for a man,
All across Japan.
Just to find,
to find my samurai.
Zero had a pair of sunglasses that resembled the ones Guneagle wore, except they were dark blue. It was so hot and bright; he didn't know why anyone in their right mind would be outside! But, he wanted to find Baku, and Baku was out here somewhere…
Zero hoped that he didn't melt in the sun, though.
" Baku!!" Zero called while flying over the forest. " BAKUNETSUMARU!!!!" he screamed, making birds from their cool shaded trees fly away startled.
He started to grow impatient and worried about Baku. What if he was hurt somewhere? What if someone kidnapped him? What if he turned into dust in this blasted heat!?
He started to fly towards the sea, hoping Baku would be there.
Someone who is strong,
But still a little shy.
Yes I need,
I need my samurai.
Zero landed near a pile of rocks on the shore, and scouted about. He could see nothing but sand, water, and more sand. Nice. He sighed, then looked over to one of the cliffs. He blinked, seeing something red move around on one of them.
" Baku!" He started running over there, but as soon as his feet hit the sand, it began to scorch his feet. " Yeow!" Zero yelped while hopping about. He then floated into the air, away from the burning sand. " This is why I do not like going to the beach at the summer time…" He said to himself. He then looked back at the cliff, and headed towards it.

Bakunetsumaru was doing some martial arts training on the cliff. Uppercut, roundhouse, etcetera. He was getting hot, but then again, the weather at Ark could get much hotter than in Neotopia.
" Bakunetsumaru!" Baku stopped himself in a mid kick and looked to his right. " Hey, Zero!" Zero landed next to Baku. " Nice shades." Zero lowered them off his face slightly, then eyed Baku with a redolent glint in his eyes. Baku stared at him in confusion, then realized he hadn't put his leg down. He quickly stomped his foot down and blushed. " …Pervert…"
" I am not!" Zero huffed, placing his sunglasses back on. " What in the hell are you doing out in hell?" Zero asked, feeling his circuits starting to overheat from the sun.
" Training."
" You'll give yourself heatstroke, firefly."
" No I won't. I have done this all the time in Ark!" Zero sighed. " We're not in Ark anymore, besides…things seem to happen…"
I've been searching in the woods,
And high upon the hills.
Just to find,
to find my samurai.
" Come along now, ma petite," Zero said. " It's scorching hot, and I would rather spend time with you someplace cooler, if you don't mind." Baku smiled, seeing that the heat was really troubling Zero, and he was trying not to look like it was. Ah, the old trying to look tough routine. Cute.
" Alright," Baku said. " We can go if you want."
" Good!" Zero breathed. " I'm starting to see how fried rice feels like!" Baku laughed, then grabbed Zero's arm. " Let's go."
Someone who won't regret,
to keep me in his net.
Yes I need,
I need my samurai.
Zero was leading Baku through the thicket of trees in a remote place in the park. " Zero, where are we going?" Baku asked.
" A nice, quiet, and HEAT FREE hideout of mine!" Zero said happily while leading Baku by the arm. They rounded a pile of large rocks, then came to a little stream trickling out of a large hillside of stone. " We're almost there," Zero said. He then stopped a few feet away from the tiny stream next to a brush of leaves. He pulled it aside to reveal a large hole in the rock. " After you," Zero said while bowing slightly. Baku rolled his eyes, then went in.

Baku gasped slightly at the little secret cove inside. There was a little pool of water, where it leaked out of the cracks in the rocks to the outside, and little plants neatly growing in the ground. There was even a beach blanket next to the little pond.
" You like?" Zero asked while coming in behind Baku.
" Love it!" Baku said. " It's great! And it really isn't hot in here…" Zero nodded, then went over to the blanket and sat on it. Baku joined him, putting his feet in the cool water.

" Uh, Zero?" Baku looked over to Zero, who was lying on his back with his eyes closed and glasses off. " Mmm-hmm?"
" …How long have you been alive? And…how did you get revived?" Zero took a breath, then opened his eyes.
" Well, I've been alive for about…of, a month…." Baku made a face. " And you didn't bother to call?" Zero sweatdroped. " Sorry, I wasn't allowed…."
" Allowed?"
" Yes. Did you think I just got out of my grave and walked off?" Baku fidgeted slightly, since he somewhat did think he did. " Well, no. Someone resurrected me. Though, I didn't know it until a few weeks ago…
" See, when I was revived at first, I didn't really remember a thing. Not me, you, nor how I died. That was because my thought process wasn't restored yet, like my soul. That kind of thing takes time and steps, if you want the dead to be a close to alive as possible…"
" Er…" Baku looked at Zero. " What do you mean by that?"
" Uhhh…If I told you, you'd be scared." Baku shook his head. " No, I won't."
" Are you sure?"
" Would I lie?" Zero put his hands behind his head. " No, you wouldn't. All right; I'm not entirely a live. I'm still somewhat dead." Baku stiffened, but tried not to look fazed by that statement. " Oh…. really?"
" Yes. I'm sorry if this makes you scared of me…"
" Oh, no!" Baku quickly said. " It doesn't…." Baku really wasn't that scared, since he just couldn't picture Zero as a zombie or whatever undead creature he was. He was just Zero, and nothing else to him.
" You see, once something has died, it can never be fully living again. Unless it has been reincarnated," Zero explained.
" …Who did this?" Baku asked. Zero tilted his head away. " …I don't know." He then sat up. " But I do know that I owe them the world of gratitude…" Zero placed a hand on Baku's. " Because they gave me back my world…" He then stared into Baku's eyes deeply, making the samurai blush slightly.
" I owe him as well," Baku added. " I've felt…. empty without you, Zero." Zero placed his other hand on Baku's cheek.
" I'm here now, and nothing will ever change that." Baku closed his eyes as Zero kissed him.
" Zero. Close your eyes for a second, okay?" Zero blinked. " Why?"
" You'll see!" Zero shrugged, then lied back down. " Alright." He then closed his eyes. He stayed like that for a few minutes in silence. " Baku?"
He got no response. He opened his eyes and looked over to where Baku was sitting, but he wasn't there. Just his helmet " Baku?" He looked about him. " Not again! Where's my samurai??"
Where's my samurai?

" Baku?!" Zero stood up and started to panic. " Bakunetsumaru!!" He went over to the edge of the pool and looked in. Did he fall in? He would have heard him if he did, right?
`
" RAAAAAA!!"
" AHHHHHHHHH!!!" Zero screamed as something gushed out of the water, and pulled him in. He fell in with a loud splash, then surfaced while coughing up some water.
" Ha! I gotcha!" Baku laughed triumphantly as he was in the water next to Zero.
" Bakunetsumaru!" Baku blinked. " Don't ever do that again! You scared me in more than one way!!"
" Oh…." Baku sheepishly looked down in the water. " Sorry…I just wanted to have a bit of fun with you." Zero got out of the water, and wringed his cape out.
Baku clambered onshore, and put his helmet back on. Baku was suddenly thrown onto his back by Zero.
" Now I got you."
" What?! No fair!"
" Oh I'll show you what isn't fair…" Zero then started to tickle Baku like he did the other night.
" Zero-HAHAHA! STOP!! CHE-AHAHA-CHEATER--!!" Zero stopped so Baku could catch his breath. Zero got off of Baku and sat beside him. Baku sat up, then placed his head in Zero's lap.
Zero smiled. He found Baku at last, and nothing would ever tear them apart…not even his strange pranks. He looked down at Baku to see him curl up slightly while closing his eyes.
" I'm gonna take a nap now…" Baku muttered. Zero leaned over and kissed him. " Pleasant dreams then." Baku nodded, then quickly dozed off. Zero stared at Baku as he slept for a while, then started to get tired as well. He picked Baku up, then placed him on the blanket. Zero lied down next to him, and wrapped an arm around Baku's waist. He then closed his eyes, and fell asleep as well.

Kikumon watched in disgust as Zero snuggled with Bakunetsumaru. " Revolting…" She spat.
" Well, it looks like he really is alive after all." Cobramaru appeared behind Kikumon as she looked into the magic mirror. " How was he revived?"
" I don't really know," Kikumon admitted. " But he may prove to be useful in my plan…"

The song is Butterfly from Dance Dance Revolution! ^^ I can just imagine Zero singing that to Baku. Hehehe. Okay, more action stuff in the next chapter hopefully. :p
