Chapter 14: The history of the Dark Omega

The group of four had been walking for days across country to make sure that people don't see them, walking only at night.

"So, Violet, how did you survive all these years?" Ultrix asked, and he looked at the female hedgehog.

"Uh, dose it matter?" Matrix said, and he was walking along side her.

"It's okay, son." Violet said, she stopped and sat down on a black rock to rest.

Rrrrraaaaaaa

Matrix, Dash, and Ultrix turned to see a rock-like creature stand up, but it wasn't a rock, it was a black raptor, and his crimson red eyes watched the four move away from him.

"Mom!" Matrix called.

The black raptor jumped at her, but it missed, and Violet ran over to Matrix, Dash, and Ultrix.

"Who are you?" asked the black raptor, and Matrix sensed that the raptor was not good.

{Mom, go with Dash and Ultrix. I'll meet you later.} Matrix said, telepathically.

Violet looked at Matrix as if to say: `Okay, son.'

Violet, Dash, and Ultrix ran, leaving Matrix and the black raptor alone. The raptor watched them run, and then returned his look back to the white hedgehog in front of him.

"So, Raptor, what's your name, if you have one?" Matrix asked.

He slowly put his right hand on the sword and started to pull, holding the hilt of the sword. He pulled the blade out twenty cm before returning it. He had to move or the teeth of the raptor would have torn through his arm.

"It's Blackout, and I despise all life, especially hedgehogs!" Then Blackout jumped at Matrix.

Matrix had moved out of the way again, but one of the claws from Blackout had hit Matrix on his left arm.

"You'll pay for that!" Matrix shouted. He was holding his left arm with his right hand, and he was losing a lot of blood.

Because of the wound on his arm, he stood up and ran in the other direction from the others. As Matrix ran, he could not sense the raptor or the others. He looked at his arm, and it was covered with his blood. He was getting weak from the loss of blood, and he stopped, fell to the ground hands first, and he was finding it hard breathe. In his mind, he saw his friends and family, then it all went dark. He blacked out from the loss of blood. A long time past until someone was walking by.

"Oh, my God!" shouted a male voice.

He ran over to Matrix and checked to see if he was still alive, and amazingly, he was alive. The stranger picked up the unconscious Matrix, and walked back the way he came.

The next day…

"Mom, he's waking up!" said a soft but forceful voice.

"Stay lying down, stranger," said another voice, and it was a lot older.

"Where am I?" Matrix asked, sitting up slowly.

"You're in a town called `Fern.' It's a peaceful place," replied the soft and forceful voice again.

Matrix opened his eyes to see two female echidna's one light orange and the other a light red.

"My name is Amber Waters," said the light orange echidna. "And this is my mother Gen Waters. My father is the one who saved you, stranger."

"Oh, my name is Max," he said.

The light red echidna walked up to Matrix and looked into his red eyes, and then walked out the door.

Matrix looked at the light orange echidna. {Amber…she's lovely.}

2 hours later…

"Amber, I don't like your father going around saving every Mobian on this planet, especially if our kind is hidden from outsiders." Gen said to her daughter.

"But Mother, our kind will be found sooner or later." Amber said, strangely to her mother.

"Hmm, excuse me…"

The two female echidnas turned to see Matrix, standing in the doorway

"Have you heard of the Guardian of the Floating Island?" Matrix asked them, and then Gen's eyes opened wide and she looked strait at the hedgehog.

"How do you know about that?" Gen asked, standing right in front of him.

"You mean to tell me that you don't know that the Guardian of the Floating Island has helped save Mobius?" Matrix said.

He walked in the same room as them, and he turned his head and saw pictures of his family with two other families, one of echidnas and the other of foxes.

{What on Mobius, my family knew about echidnas before Knuckles, and who is the fox family? They don't have two tails, and they're not the same color as Tails is, hmmm…} Matrix thought in his mind.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry, but can you tell me what is your connection with the Raven family?" Matrix asked.

Gen looked at Matrix, and then down at the floor. "Your Violet's youngest son Max Raven?" Matrix nodded. "Daughter, please leave."

Amber nodded and left the room.

"Your family is an old one, older than you think," Gen said. "Here, drink this."

Matrix did and then he felt light-headed and dizzy. "What did you do?" He asked, and then he fainted.

"Do not worry, it will be over fast." Gen said.

Matrix sat up and looked at his surroundings. He was not on Mobius. He stood up slowly. He was in another dimension again, and it was mostly dark, but a light from a crystal in the center of the dark void was the brightest thing there.

"Okay, how did I get here?" he asked himself.

Someone started to walk to him.

"Who are you?" he called out into the darkness.

"An old friend," the voice replied.

Matrix looked at the figure standing in front of him. She looked the same as any normal Mobian to him, but she was a normal yellow fox.

"My name is Feather Fox," said the fox. "I am the Guardian of the Temple of Eodious." When she finished speaking, two long crystal white wings sprouted out of her back.

A surprised look appeared on Matrix's face. "You're not a Mobian."

"No, I'm not."

"So, Feather Fox, where are we?" Matrix asked, and he had a hard time trying to read her mind.

"Please, don't do that." Feather Fox said, "I know your psychic and I know of your other abilities too." She looked at the crystal in the center of this dark space. "The sword you carry is letting me speak to you telepathically. I am what you might call a being from another dimension, but I'll see you one day in person," said Feather Fox. "You see, Max, no one outside your family line can hold that sword. The sword is a living being like you and I."

"So, you know who Epsilon is?" Matrix asked, looking at the sword in his hands.

"Oh, yes, the parts to the sword have not been together in years. He possesses the scabbard of the sword."

"So, that's why there was no scabbard when Tikal gave me it." Matrix said.

"Yes, my friend, Tikal risked her ghostly to give you that blade. She entered the Temple that the twin swords were kept in, and Epsilon possesses the scabbard of the Dark Omega, but the blade itself has another master, and that is you. Your soul is now eternally linked to the blade." Feather Fox sighed. "It's like the eternal snake eating it's own tail."

"So, I am the Sword?" Matrix asked holding up the Dark Omega to his vision. "Wait, you said twin swords?"

"In one word, yes, there are two swords." Feather Fox told him, "For thousands of years, people have been after the twin swords, trying to possess there most destructive of powers. You have the Drak Omega and its twin is the Alpha Sword, its sister. No one can know of this." Feather Fox said with a heavy sigh.

"Sister, huh?" Matrix asked the winged fox.

"Yes, you need to find the Alpha Sword," Feather Fox said, and she started to vanish. "Remember, Matrix, we'll meet again in the future."

Gen helped Matrix to sit up. "Right, you're okay. The visions can be strong."

"Well, I'm strong, thanks." Matrix said nicely. "Can I ask, how many of you are here?"

"About a thousand," said another voice.

Matrix turned to see another echidna walk in. "I believe this is your son, Violet." Then a brown hedgehog walked to the door, and with her was Dash and Ultrix.

"Mom, Dash, and Ultrix, you're okay!" Matrix shouted, running up to her, and he hugged her.

"I am, but you're hurt, son." Violet said, looking at his arm, which had a bandage on.

"I heal fast, it's okay, Mom." Matrix said, "We have to help these people." He walked out the hut, into the sun.

"Why?" Ultrix asked, looking at Matrix.

"They're echidnas, like Knuckles." Matrix said, looking back at the cyber.

"Okay, but how do you move a whole town?" Violet asked her son.

Matrix starts to think. "I got it!" He stood in the middle of the town. "I've never done this, guys, so…" Matrix started to say.

"So?" Dash asked.

"So, it might not work."

He put his hands out, stretched on both sides of him and he had his hands clenched into fists so hard that blood started come out his gloves, and his eyes were closed. The ground started to shake violently around the town, large cracks stared to appear, and in the town, the chaos took hold with the villagers running and screaming. The whole town suddenly rose into the sky, like a second floating Island, but this one had no Chaos Emeralds holding it up. The floating island moved with an angelic flow through the sky, and at the controls was the most powerful psychic on Mobius.

4 hours later…

"Son, are you okay?" Violet looked at her son.

This was hard for him to do, to move a few people was okay, but a whole town was something else.

Matrix didn't move one bit, and he just stood on the same spot. {I have to keep this up a little more!}

"HEY, GUYS, LOOK!" Dash shouted, and he was pointing to the true floating Island, which had been back up for a year now.

On the Floating Island…

"Sonic, Knuckles, I don't believe this! Come out and look!" said a very shocked Shadow.

Sonic and Knuckles joined him outside. The three looked up only to see another floating island moving fast towards them. Shadow, Sonic, and Knuckles all looked at each other.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!"

The two islands hit hard, and the second island impacted itself and the two Islands merged with force.

After the second island had hit…

"Sonic, Knuckles, you okay?" Shadow asked weakly.

All he got was two weak groans.

"You're okay. I'll go and check it out!" Shadow stood up and ran towards where the second floating Island had hit.

Meanwhile, on the other island…

"WE HIT SOMETHING!" shouted some of the town's people.

"Yes, we hit the Floating Island!" Matrix called, and he was being help up by Amber. He looked at her. "Thank you, Amber." he said.

"But son, that crashed years ago!" Gen said, standing up.

"MOM!! Behind you!" Matrix cried.

He moved fast and ran to her, and he pushed her to the dusty ground before a black blur hit her.

"Blackout!" Matrix growled.

The two were about seven meters apart, but the two stood their ground, staring at each other, crimson red eyes met burning scarlet eyes.

"Thanks for getting me up here," hissed the black raptor, and he turned away, running.

"I'm sorry, Mom."

"Go, son!" Violet said, waving her hand in the way the black raptor had gone in, and Matrix nodded and ran after him.

Shadow was running fast through the forest. He turned his head to see a lager black blur run by him, and it was closely followed by a white, red and black blur.

"Matrix!" Shadow called. The two were running towards the unconscious Sonic and Knuckles. "Hey, Max!" Shadow called again, and then he turned on his feet and ran after them.

"I'll get you, you overgrown lizard!" Matrix shouted as he ran through the forest. Leaves were cutting his face.

"Oh, come on!" Blackout laughed.

"Need any help?" A voice asked, running along side him.

Matrix turned his head to see Shadow. "Okay, come on!" Matrix said, smiling.

Shadow smiled back. The two turned their heads towards the black raptor and started to run faster.
