This is Chapter 5 of my Sonic Story: A New Day!

Silent beeps on the heart moniter could be heard throughout the room as Sally watched on as Sonic continued to rest.

"Oh, Sonic...I can't believe how ignorant I was towards you. How did I not recognize it before?" Sally stared at the silent cerulean hero laying on the bed, as thoughts of Sonic continued to run through her head.

"uhhh..."

Sally turned her head towards the moan, and swore it came from the blue hedgehog directly in front of her. "Sonic?" Sally listened for Sonic again and got a response so captivating, she would remember it for the rest of her life.

"Sally...Where are you?...Sally..."

Sally looked on with tears in her eyes as she had indeed heard Sonic say her name not once, but twice. "S-Sonic?! Is it you?"

"Sally, I'm here, please, run to me!" Sonic was obviously dreaming, but his words were so real to Sally. "Don't leave me..." With those words he drifted back into a deep sleep.

"Sonic...I-...I love you!" Sally started crying on Sonics' chest, slowly drifting off to sleep as she fell asleep on Sonics' chest with the words "I love you, Sonic..."

*6 hours later*

Sally was dreaming of her and Sonic, together, when she was awoken by Knuckles who looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Sally! Sally! Wake up! We got trouble!"

Sally quickly arose and ran outside to see the problem and saw a horrific sight, as she witnessed Sonic's limp, lifeless form being torn apart by the Mecha-Tails.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!! SONIC!!!!!!!!!!" Sally's screams filled the air as she fell, witnessing the helpless Sonic being destroyed by this 'beast'. She sobbed uncontrollably as she could not get the image of Sonic's torture out of her head. "Sonic! Please! Get up!! Please!!" You're going to die!!!"

Luckily, it wouldn't reach that point. A swift round-house kick sent the Mechanoid spiraling across the grass. Sally looked on with huge eyes as she saw who Sonic's savior was.

"SHADOW?!"

"Take that! You creep!" Shadow looked at Sonic, who was bleeding profusly from his back and parts of his stomach. "Sonic! Sonic!!" Shadow looked at the Mechanoid with hate in his eyes, as nothingbut pure rage went through the black hedgehog's veins. 'He helped me defeat that BioLizard and saved the planet, now I must repay the debt!' Shadow moved at lightning speed, connecting with a homing spin-dash from afar and watched as the robot was, once again, nothing but a heap on the ground.

"Is it really you?! Shadow!? I-I thought you had died on the ARK incident!" Sally looked at Shadow, then at Sonic who was in extremly bad shape. "We need to get him to a hospital again! He's probably lost a lot of blood!"

"Lets go! I'll get us there faster!" Shadow took out a Chaos Emerald and summoned the powers of Chaos Control; he, Sonic, and Sally were insatntly transported to a nearby hospital.

"Medic! We need assistance over here! Sonic's been badly injured!"Sahdow and Sally watched as Sonic was quickly but carfully loaded up onto a strecther and taken into a ER center. That was the last they saw of him the rest of the night.

*7 hours later*

"Um, excuse me, are you Sally Acorn?"

"Yes, I am, why? Is Sonic okay?"

"Well, he's lost an extremly large amount of blood, but he'll live" Sally breathed her first sigh of relief since the attack first happened. She looked on as the medic went into a room; probably the same room Sonic was in, and thought 'Sonic, I just want to tell you my feelings, but I haven't got the chance to! I'm beginning to wonder if I ever will.' Sally continued to ponder and didn't even notice the nurse that was standing in front of her. During her thinking, Shadow had already visited Sonic and left the building, unnoticed by Sally.

"Excuse me, Sally? You have someone who wants to see you."

Sally's heart leaped with joy when she heard this statement, and without any further delay, she ran to where Sonic was at.

"Hiya Sal."

"Sonic!!" Sally ran to Sonic and embraced him in a huge hug and kissed him on the mouth passionately. "I thought I lost you, again!"

"Sally, I have something very important to tell you..."

"Me too, Sonic! Me too!" Sally looked in Sonic's emerald green eyes and saw nothing but pure love in them. Her heart lept for joy when he said the three words that she had been waiting to hear ever since she met him.

"I love you."

Sally was living a dream, she now knew that Sonic truly loved her, and all she had to do was reply.

"I love you too! Sonic!" Sally planted a firm kiss on Sonic's lips and they stayed that way for a few seconds. It felt like an eternity to Sonic and Sally. When their lips parted, their eyes sparkled, signifying true feelings towards one another.

"Oh, Sonic..." Sally placed her head on Sonic's shoulder as she felt his warm hands rubbing her shoulder, she loved the feeling of his arms on her body; she dreamed that one day, they would fall in love, and it seemed as though that this dream would become reality. Sally moaned lightly as Sonic's hands continueed to rub her shoulders, massaging her back with his other hand.

"Sally, I love you always..." Sonic placed Sally on his bed and laid her down next to him. He cuddled Sally and fell asleep, true lovers together at last.
