Ch. 3: Helpless in the Eyes of Danger

"What!!!" Sonic had just received a call from Tails, relaying the bad news to Sonic.

"I arrived, and Amy was on the bed, completely naked, her front had been penetrated by someone, so she must've been raped!" Tails sounded like a frightened child without a mother or father to comfort. "Get over here, now!" Tails hung up the phone, leaving Sonic with a dial-tone to consult him.

"Why?!" Sonic began to curse to himself and to everyone he came in contact with. "First my son gets hurt, now, when I'm spending important time with my son, Amy gets raped?!" Sonic was pounding his fist intot the walls, eventually, he had to be escorted out of the hospital.

Sonic ran towards Amy's house at break-neck speeds, his mind racing, his thought blurry, and his emotions running rampant. Finally, Sonic arrived at Amy's house ten minutes later.

"Amy!!" Sonic pounded on the door, trying to get an answer, but got Tails.

"Sonic, hurry!" Tails sounded even more frightened by the other discovery Sonic had been dreading.

"No protection, either..." Sonic said to himself.

"This is terrible, Sonic! Amy wasn't protected! She is gonna be pregnant with someone elses baby!" Tails said glumly.

"Why would anyone do such a thing?!" Sonic shouted at Tails, unaware it was even Tails he was yelling at.

"Sonic, there was nothing we could do...we were at the hospital...Amy knows but, it seems she's out for awhile." Tails said nervously.

"Amy..." Sonic's eyes began to water, and he was crying on Tails shoulder, in complete disbelief of the events of that day.

<Meanwhile, at Robotnicks lair>

"Excellent work, Shadow! Phase one of my plan is complete! Phase two must begin immediately! You must go back down there and retreive Amy so that, when her baby is delivered, I can snacth it immediately!" Eggman said, his eyes filled with promise and joyousness.

"Yes...master...proceeding at once...to Rose...complex...right away..." Shadow said, his voice sounded like that of a dead person, completely thoughtless and showing no emotion whatsoever.

"Now, go, make me proud!!" Eggman barked out more instructions to Shadow, with Shadow leaving the complex at once.

<Five hours later>

"Tails, I don't know what to do here. I feel completely helpless! I can't decide who to look after! Should I stay here with an unconcious Amy, or go back to the hospital with my sonc who is also out?" Sonic was battling his own mind, fighting just to remain in his own sanity levels. The events had completely unnerved the blue hedgehog, leaving him only with questions about the future.

"I can't help ya there, Sonic, I'm sorry...I'm just as pissed as you are about these events, yet, I don't have any idea who could have done such a thing. Whoever did this must've ben waiting for something like the incident with Michael to happen...they must've known the oppurtunity to strike was near." Tails said, trying to figure out a motive as well as a suspect.

"Eggman couldn't possibly do something like this...I've known him for a great many years and, although he is a mad scientist, he would never stoop to such a devious scheme as this one, he just couldn't have!" Sonic tried to rule out Eggman as best he could, but his mind was telling him otherwise.

"Either way, we must keep our senses up, whoever did this will most likely be back to finish the job." said Tails.

"Well, I think we need to head back to the hospital, I'll get you back in there, so follow me!" Tails said, knowing that, with a little persuasion, he could get Sonic back in the room where Michael was.

"Yeah, lets go, Tails..." Sonic was in a state of confusion, yet he went with Tails to get back to his son, although, he never could settle his decision about who to stay with.

Suddenly, a figure, Shadow, walks into the house and snacthes Amy's prone form, hoisting her over his shoulder, running back to Eggman's complex at full speed.

<back at the complex>

"Excellent work, Shadow! You have made me very proud!" Eggman said with that same grin on his face as he had many hours ago.

Shadow responded merely by staring at Eggman, his mind and body completly out of his control.

"Now, lets get this thing underway! I can speed up the birth process, using these vaxolation chambers, I can indirectly speed up the birth, causing for a still healthy hedgehog baby while doing it in less then three minutes!" Eggman pulled some levers and pressed some buttons, and the machine went to work.

After placing Amy's body in the machine, a purple glow eminated from the machines core, casting a blinding light throughout the room. Clicks and machine sounds could be heard, as Eggman stood there, with a devious grin on his face, knowing that his plan was about to be half-way through.

After about three minutes, the machine stopped glowing, the chamber opened, purple smoke flowing out of the core's compartment, and, when the smoke cleared, Amy's body was there, but she also had another in there: a baby hedgehog.

"! It worked!!! I can't believe it worked!!! Hahahahaha!!! Shadow! Quick, fetch me the baby!" Eggman was barking out orders to Shadow, who immediately complied with the demands.

"Now, the beginning of the end for Sonic the Hedgehog has begun!!" Eggman shouted, his voice echoing in the room.

"Master...what of...the girl...?" Shadow asked Eggman bluntly.

"Take her back to her house! We must not leave any trace that we were invloved, lest our plans be ruined!" Eggman ordered Shadow to bring Amy back to the house. Shadow immediately did so and, after five minutes, Shadow returned no longer with Amy in his arms.

"Yes! Now, the hard part is over! Now all we must do is raise this hedgehog up in a way I deem permissible!" Eggman shouted to noone in particular.
