Ch. 7: Sacrifice

Sonic II was grinning, staring down his three opponents, he showed the cockiness that worried Sonic and Shadow greatly.

"Stop your grinning! Lets fight!" Michael broke the silence and struck first, connecting a soild punch to Sonic II's jaw.

Sonic II merely fixated his jaw area, grinning still, as if saying "give me more!"

"Nice hit, now its my turn!" Sonic II ran at Michael like a bullet, slamming into Michael's shoulder blade hard.

"Damn, what muscle! He might have broken my collerbone!" Michael said to himself, and was soon hit again by Sonic II.

"Alright! Enough!" Sonic stepped in, now it was a 2-1 assualt, yet Sonic II fought both father and son like it was 1-1.

Sonic II then charged up some sort of ball of energy, flinging it directly at Sonic, causing Sonic to fly halfway across from where they were (about 40 yds.)

"Dad!" Michael turned his back, only to get slammed with the same energy ball.

"Ha! Shadow, care to try me?!" Sonic II brandished his claws in the light, attempting to unnerve Shadow.

"Maria...this monster is going to destroy the entire planet if it isn't stopped now! I won't fail you!" Shadow said to himself, finally slamming a good kick to Sonic II's groan, causing the creature to stumble a bit.

Shadow landed some more kicks, to Sonic II's head, groan and shoulder.

"Ha! Had enough?!" Shadow was very confidently certain he had defeated the creature.

"(Rubbing his groan area) Damn, thats a nice kick you've got...but it pales in comparison to my claws!" Sonic II recuperated from that kick like it was a pebble that had hit him, charged full speed into Shadow, driving his claws into Shadow's chest.

"!" Shadow never saw it coming, the only thing he saw was Sonic II's claws through his back.

"Ha!" Sonic II retracted his claws, blood gushing from the open wound of Shadow.

"No...Maria..." Shadow collapsed on the ground, leaving Sonic and Michael to handle Sonic II. However, they were still out cold.

Sonic II approached the two figures which were about thirty yards away. He took his time, which was a mistake on his part for being too arrogant.

When Sonic II approached the two hedgehogs, they suddenly knicked up and charged at Sonic II head-on, both landing a similtaneous kick to Sonic II's head.

Sonic II was shocked by this barrage, quite stunned that the power they had kept secret now came forth.

"Sonic, let me handle him!" Michael dashed towards Sonic II's position, running at breakneck speeds.

When Michael got close, Sonic II bounced back up and positioned his claws in the opposite direction Michael was running: which was for his face.

Michael was able to swirve out of the way from a fatal mistake, but wiped out from running so fast.

Sonic II dashed towards Sonic, who was now helpless in a 1-1 situation with his own genetically enhanced "son"

"Sonic II wasted little time, swiping at Sonic's legs, cutting through the skin like butter, blood began to pour from the wounds caused by Sonic II.

"Fuck!!!" Sonic yelled out as the pain finally caught up to him, he was on the ground, wobbly trying to get back up.

"I don't think so!" Sonic II simply kicked Sonic back to the ground and positioned himself infront of Sonic.

"Now, "father", you die!" Sonic II went for a swipe to Sonic's chest area, attempting to slash his heart out, but Sonic, who was waiting for the pain, didn't feel any pain in his chest, in fact, he saw something else that made it just as bad...to him.

"Shadow!!!" Shadow had dove in front of Sonic and taken the blow, those claws going through Shadow's chest, straight through his heart. Shadow's head fell back, his neck positoned in a "U"

"Foolish...He has only delayed the inevitable!" Sonic II was struggling to get Shadow off his claws, but the weight was bearing quite a burden on Sonic II's efforts.

"Shadow..." Sonic had tears streaming from his eyes as flashbacks of the past came rushing back to him.

[Flashback]

"The military has mistaken me for the likes of you! So, where do you think you'rs going with that emerald? Say something, you fake hedgehog!"

"Chaos Control!"

[Flashback]

"You know, what can I say; I die hard! You actually saved me, you know?"

"It was a Chaos Emerald! But, there's no way you could have activated the Chaos Control using an emerald thats fake! So, there's more to you than just looking like me...what are you anyway?"

"What you see is what you get! Just a guy that loves adventure! I'm Sonic the Hedgehog!"

[Flashback]

"No way thats getting through!

.

.

.

Now Shadow!"

"Chaos Control!!"

[End Flashback]

"Shadow...he-he...he can't be gone...he can't...die..." Sonic was sturggling to maintain his emotions as tears of anguish and hate began to spring forth from his emerald eyes.

"Stupid...piece-of...shit!!!" Sonic II still hadn't got Shadow off his claws, and said the three words that Sonic would never forget any being speak about Shadow.

"Piece-of-shit" rang in Sonic's mind like a motor, it kept echoing, not stopping, attempting to awaken the true power that Sonic had inside him.

However, that would not occur, it was going to take something much worse to awaken that power...and it came in the form of his son.

"You fucking bastard!!!" Michael ran towards Sonic II, and landed a bunch of kicks and pucnhes to Sonic II's face, cutting open Sonic II's left half of his face, blood starting to drip from the open wound.

"Damnt!!!!" Sonic II rammed his other claw into Michael's chest, Sonic thought it had killed him.

Sonic had had enough, he had seen enough, and he had seen both Shadow and his son get killed in less then two minutes. This was too much for Sonic to handle as his deepest rage and anger erupted from within.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Sonic began to glow orange, his fur changing from goldish/yellow to blue/aquamarine.

"What the hell?!" Sonic II stared at the enraged figure infront of him.

The ground was shaking viciously from Sonic's rage, the sky turned red and black, the look in Sonic's eyes told the story: "You are going to rot in hell for this!" Sonic had transformed into his super-form 2, with his strength, speed, and agility up by at least double his previous super-form.

"You have done the ultamite injustice!!! You killed my friend Shadow, and now you kill my son!!!!!" Sonic let loose his rage and anger on Sonic II, who was cringing in shock that this was actually an actual being infront of him.

"No!!" Sonic II saw Sonic charging towards him, and Sonic came with such force that, when he collided with Sonic II, Sonic II was split in half!

"Michael...Shadow..." Sonic uttered as he lost his power and collapsed on the ground; spent, tired and lonely.

Unknown to Sonic, a certain figure was knealing beside him.

"Everything's done...it is finished...the fight is over...we have won..." The person said, carrying Sonic's body to a hospital.

Sonic was out cold from the fight.

"Everything is going to be fine...dad..." as the two figures disappered into the distance.
