Ch. 6: Showdown

"Sonic!" Sonic turend around to find the source of the caller to be Shadow.

"Yeah, Shadow, whats up?" Sonic saw that Shadow had returned to his normal self with that device out of commission.

"Your son won't be able to fight that thin on his own, I know, trust me. That thing Robotnick made is extremly powerful! Its at least five times more powerful then the Mecha Monic you fought." Shadow had a seriousness that Sonic could not counter.

"You're saying that "thing" Eggman's got is at least..." Sonic couldn't finish that phrase, he took off full speed towards where Michael was heading.

"Sonic! Wait for me!" Shadow kicked his speed into afterburners and took off full speed to where Sonic was heading.

<At the complex>

"This is where that creature is... The one Eggman stole from Amy, huh?" Michael was hidden amongst the trees, so he was not seen by Eggman or Sonic II. "I never thought Eggman would get so desperate and crazed to such an extent..." Michael said to himself as he watched the Sonic II on the target field, smashing every target to perfection.

Michael watched his movements carefully, though, because he knew that hedgehog, like himself and Sonic, had keen hearing and eyesight, so any false movements could give away his position.

Suddenly, the Sonic II saw a flash of orange in the distant forest; right where Michael was.

"Shit..." Michael looked around for someplace else to hide but saw none, therefore, instead of taking the cowards approach, he jumped from his spot and was facing the Sonic II directly in its eyesight.

"Who are you?! How dare you intrude on Professor Robotnicks territorial grounds!" Sonic II got positioned in a fighting stance which, because of his training, made him look like a very formidable opponent.

"I am the son of Sonic, Michael! You must be the baby from Amy, huh?" Michael knew very well it was.

"Good job, my friend. Very good indeed! However, you have poked your nose into Robotnicks business one too many times! Now, you die!" Sonic II dashed towards Michael at speeds faster then Sonic.

Michael, who could run twice as fast as Sonic, saw him coming and he dodged the attack easily.

"Finally, someone who can match my speed! You should make for a pretty interesting opponent!" Michael grinned at the figure infront of him, cracking his knuckles, ready for one hell of a fight.

"Don't get so cocky, my friend! You have yet to even see what I can do!" Sonic II, in one quick motion, dived at Michael's chest with his claws extended.

Michael saw it coming and jumped in the air, then landed a fearsome kick to Sonic II's back.

Sonic II knicked back up and was right back on the attack, swiping at Michael's face and body with his claws, they were all meant to do serious harm to the hedgehog.

That is, if they had connected. Michael dodged each swipe, having no trouble keeping up with his equal opponent.

"C'mon! Is that the best you've got?!" Michael countered one more swipe and landed several punches on Sonic II's face, causing him to stumble back a bit.

"You are going to be a good opponent, once I finish waking up!" Sonic II's pupil's dilated, his muscles became rigid and his teeth began to grind: he was transforming into his super-form.

Michael, quite amuzed by this effort his opponent was pulling, decided to see what this thing really had in him.

Sonic II became engulfed in a greenish-yellowish light which temporarily blinded Michael.

After a minute, Sonic II was no longer balckish-silver, but was now reddish-yellow.

"Yes, I can feel the power!" the newly enhanced Sonic II shouted out in triumph.

Michael decided to see what this did to him, he ran at SuperSonic II with breakneck speed, but the transformation had nearly tripled Sonic II's speed, putting him past the sound barrier. Sonic II dodged Michael's punches and kicks like he was a master and Michael was the rookie.

Sonic II, with one solid punch to the gut, sent Michael backwards, he was writhing in pain from the hit.

"Damnt...you stupid...son-of-a...b-b-bitch!" Michael was on both knees, clutching his groan, in extreme pain from the blow.

"Fool! You should not have let me transform! Now you will pay the ultimate price!" Sonic II shouted as he ran towards Michael at speeds fast enough to shatter the sound barrier. He dove his claws towards Michael.

"No!!!" Michael covered his face and prepared to be sliced in half. At Sonic II's speed, Michael could have been sliced in half.

Suddenly, Sonic II stopped his impending advance and turned around to see two more hdgehogs.

"Dad! Shadow!" Michael was extremly glad to see the two of them here, now he might have a good chance against Sonic II.

"You must be Sonic II." Shadow said, getting a grin from the creature.

"Michael, are you ok?!" Sonic looked extremly worried about his son, Michael.

"Yeah! Never...never felt better!" Michael gave Sonic a grin, slowly getting up, the pain starting to dissipate.

"You are all fools! Even the three of you will not defeat me!"

[NOTE: I don't believe in the "ring" theory where the super-forms of Sonic or any other hedgehog requires rings to remain in their super-form! If you don't like that, then don't read on!]

"What do you say we kick it up a notch!?" Shadow suggested, transforming into his super-form, as did Michael.

"Lets do it!" Sonic replied as he too transformed into his super-form.
