Chapter 3

Shadow and Sonic had been walking for a good hour or so before they even saw a city in sight, needless to say, their feet were killing them so they decided to stop and rest.

"Damn...you think we'll ever reach a city, Shadow?" Sonic asked.

"I don't know, Sonic...I truly don't know..." Shadow replied.

"Michael would know what to do..." Sonic mumbled to himself, which Shadow heard.

"Well, we won't be doing any good by complaining huh?" Shadow asked his comrade.

Sonic merely nodded his head in somewhat approval to his friends comment. Sonic had been nervous ever since he left the hospital for numerous reasons: was Amy alright, would they be alright and would they find a city to rest?

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Lark and Frieta appeared infront of Sonic, leveling him with lightning-quick attacks, getting abruptly halted by Shadow.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?!" Shadow demanded.

"We are of a far greater group..." Frieta said.

"We are much better then you would ever be..." Lark said.

"What is that supposed to mean?!" Shadow asked.

"That is none of your business, since we are here simply to destroy you two!" Frieta shouted, attempting to strike a punch on Shadow, but got shoved out of the way instead.

"Bastard!" Lark shouted at Shadow, firing a laser beam from his robotic leg, which merely phased off of Shadow.

"You sindged my fingernails!" Shadow shouted to Lark, nailing him with a vicious punch to the chin followed by a kick to the midsection.

Frieta stumbled to her feet, only to get slammed to the ground by Sonic who had just rgained his composure after the sneak attack.

"Why are you two here?!" Sonic asked.

"No time to tell the likes of you! I swear to it, we will return!!!" Frieta shouted as she pushed a button on her wristpad, teleporting Lark and her away from Sonic and Shadow.

"What the hell do you think they were doing, Shadow?" Sonic asked, hoping Shadow might know.

"I wish I could say...but, that Frieta character looked very familiar <thinking to himself:>...somehow....could she really be....................no, she couldn't be....thats impossible..." Shadow said.

"Well, whatever the reason, we must continue onward to find some sort of city so we can contact Amy!" Sonic said, continuing to trudge towards the distant horizon.
