Chapter 19

<Meanwhile, back inside the hospital>

Michael was exhausted after getting Sonie, Shadow, Amy, Flash, Gina and his dad to the hospital so they would get better.

"Man...this isn't easy...I just hope they can rebuild this city fast enough so that we can live and support ourselves..." Michael said to himself.

Michael was allowed in the room where everyone had been kept, so he took the oppurtunity to check on everyone.

"Michael...my son..."

Michael walked over to his dad's bed and saw his leg had been wrapped extensively to let the bone mend itself back into allignment.

"Yes, dad?" Michael asked.

"All my life I had never thought of having a son, much less getting married...then you came into my life and that day is a day that will live with me forever...you have been such a great son to raise, and then you got married and had a girl...it makes this old hedgehog feel kinda proud." Sonic said weakly as he was very weak from the twister.

"Dad...I never thought I'd be back here to see you again...I don't know what Tikal did, but somehow I got back here and, Tikal must've known!!" Michael said to himself as he felt his eyes watering up from shock.

"My son...I want you to get that Calhoun...and Lark and Frieta...get them out of here for good!" Sonic said with some energy.

"I won't let you down, dad!" Michael said with a tear in his eye as he walked over to Susan's bed.

"Michael! Its you!" Susan said with plenty of emotion as she embraced Michael, since she was much better in condition because she had been in the hospital longer then the others.

"Susan...when Tikal gave birth to you, I couldn't have been prouder...I still can't believe that you're actually here, my own flesh and blood." Michael said.

"I still can't believe we survived that twister..." Susan said, laying her head back on the pillow.

<Meanwhile, many miles away from the ruined city>

Lark laid Frieta gently down on the ground, still angry that he allowed it to go this far.

"Please, Frieta...don't leave me...not now...I know I haven't been much of a brother to you, but please give me another chance...please..." Lark managed to shed a single tear from his robotic eye, his emotions running rampant.

Soon afterwards, Frieta moved her fingers, getting Lark's attention immediately.

"FRIETA!! Oh thatnk god!! I promise I'll never hurt you again!" Lark said with emotion, however shedding no tears.

<Meanwhile, back inside the hospital>

"Michael, we have the status reports of your family...it seems as though Sonic, Sonie and Shadow are all going to make speedy recoveries! They should be back out to run and do whatso in about 8 weeks!" The doctor said to a relieved Michael.

"What of the others...?" Micahel asked nervously.

"Well...I'm afraid that the other are not going to be as fortunate...Gina has a fractured spleen and won't be back out for another 7 months...Flash is going to be ok, but his small frame went through a lot of stress and won 't be out for about 7 weeks..." The doctor said to Michael.

"Great...just great..." Michael said to himself as he sighed from depression. "I miss Tikal..." Michael said with a tear in his eye, not sure if coming back was the right choice.

Suddenly, as if to answer his question, Tikal spoke to Michael through his mind.

'Michael, my lover, please, don't feel down! I had to come back to earth for a reason, asnd that is to save the world yet again! Besides...I miss you too, and I just know that we will reunite on earth again! I just feel it in me! Don't weep for me, instead, I want you to support your family so that they can start their lives over again!'

"But...what of you...? I don't know how to handle not being with you..." Michael responded.

"I told you, don't worry about me! I promise you that we'll meet again! Until then, I want you to help your family move on so that they can handle this major threat ahead of them! Now, go and help them out!" Tikal said to Michael, reassuring his confidence.

"Okay...whatever you say, Tikal...whatever you say..." Michael said to himself as he went outside to check for any other survivors.

<Meanwhile, far away from Motople>

"It seems as though my two flunkies couldn't get the job done, so it seems as though that I have no choice but to send you, Blade, to finish the job that they couldn't!" Calhoun said through the stasis tank containing Blade.

Blade opened its eyes and simply stared at the grinning Calhoun, he had been programmed to kill on sight, that first, ask questions never.

"This is the day that I make myself knonw to the world!! Nothing is going to get in my way of complete control!" Calhoun said to noone in particular.

<Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away from Motople>

Lark had been sitting under the shade of the trees for about five hours, keeping a close eye on Frieta, whom had recuperated somewhat and was standing up next to him.

"You know, Lark, you almost killed me..." Frieta said.

"...I know...and I'm sorry..." Lark replied.

Frieta looked at him very surprised that he didn't go psycho on her that instant.

"Lark?"

"Frieta...after I found you buried underneath that pile of debris, I couldn't help but think of what I almost did to you...I almost killed you!" Lark said emotionally.

Frieta looked shocked to say the least, since this Lark was a completely different one from the one she had origionally known to be.

"I promise you, Frieta, that I will never hurt you again...EVER!!" Lark said with determination, Frieta looked very happy to see the change in Lark's attitude.

"Lark...I know that I may have been overbearing in trying to get you to realize the error of your ways, but I guess it took the natural part from you to realize that..." Frieta said, causing Lark to grin slightly.

"Yeah, I guess so...yet, I can't help but think of what that black hedgehog is doing right now...that city is destroyed and they are very vulnerable! If we strike now, we can take them out in one fell swoop!" Lark said emotionally.

"Thats a great idea! Lets go get those crippled-ass weaklings!!" Frieta said, pushing a button on her wristwatch that teleported them to Motople.
