Chapter 18

Michael stood in the ice casing he was trapped inside, his body freezing cold and his fingers and legs felt very weak.

Michael closed his eyes, thinking the end was near for him, but suddenly felt a surge of heat blast in his face as the ice around him melted completely.

"What the fuck?!" Michael looked around, trying to find who burnt his face.

Michael looked around, but saw noone or any trace of who had freed him from the confines of that ice case.

"Thank you...whoever you are..." Michael said to himself.

Michael turned around and saw the place where the Master Emerald had stood; the alter had been crushed and the Emerald was nowhere to be found.

"No!!" Michael couldn't believe that he had finally found his destiny, only to have it dashed right infront of his eyes.

Michael ran back to where he last found his dad, but didn't find him there. Dissapointed, Michael went back to his house where Tikal and Susan were.

<Back at Michael's house>

"Would you like some milk, Susan?" Tikal had Susan in a baby stroller, trying to get her to drink some milk but to no avail.

Susan just stared at Tikal with her emerald-green eyes.

"What a pistol you are!" Tikal said to herself as she could not manage to get Susan to drink any milk. "I wondr what my love is doing now...I hope he's alright..." Tikal said to herself.

Almost as if on cue, Michael walked in the house and pretty much answered Tikal's question.

"Hey, honey!" Michael ran up to Tikal and gave her a kiss on the lips, making Tikal giggle some.

"How was your day?" Tikal asked her orange hero.

"Well, I feel that we need to have a long talk about what is going on, Tikal..." Michael said in a tone that made Tikal a nervous wreck.

Michael had Tikal sit on the couch with him while he explained the events of the day.

:So, its like this...Sonic had told me about a page from a book he read me when I was little..." Michael told the story to the curious mind of Tikal.

"So...the legend is true after all...the one who is spoken of in that legend...its you, Michael..." Tikal said sadly.

"I'm very sorry, Tikal, I wanted to have the privilege of raising a fine young girl as well...but it seems as though that my fate is the one that will save this world once again...I truly wish there were a way to avoid this...I really do..." Michael said truthfully.

<Meanwhile, far away in a distant island>

"Although I have destroyed the Master Emerald, it seems as though that one more task still lays before me; I must destroy that child that Tikal holds in her hands...for that child is the key to their success...if that child is allowed to live then my plans for total destruction will fail! I mustn't allow that child to live one more minute!!" Bill said as he teleported to Eagle-Eye.

<Back at Eagle-Eye>

"Dad? Its me Michael...I feel that there's something I need for you to do for me, okay? I'd like for you to watch Susan while I'm away...thanks dad!" Michael said as he hung up the phone and said goodbye to Tikal.

"Please hurry back...Michael." Tikal said worridly.

"I will, don't worry about it! Plus, my father will be here any second now to help you out in case anyone tries something, okay?" Michael said reassuringly.

"Alright!" Tikal said happily, watching as Sonic ran in the house just as Michael had left.

<Meanwhile, near Michael's house>

"Perfect, the young one is away with the father of the young one there as well! I can kill two birds with one stone!" Bill laughed evily as he kicked the door down.

"Who are you?! What do you want?!" Tikal yelled, Sonic dashing infront of Tikal and protecting her and Susan.

"I'm Bill, and I'm here for the young one!" Bill said, his voice sounded evil.

"You can't have her! You can kiss my ass!" Sonic said as he prepared to strike Bill.

"You will regret that decision, weakling!" Bill yelled as he kicked Sonic in the gut, making Sonic writh in pain as he received another kick to the face from Bill.

"Sonic!" Tikal went to grab Susan, but got punched out by Bill as he grabbed Susan and dashed out of the house.

"N..no!" Sonic struggled to get back on his feet, helpless as he watched Bill run away with Susan in his arms. "GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!!!!!!!!" Sonic tried to run but his legs wouldn't comply, giving way as Sonic felt weak all over.

Sonic fell to the ground and blacked out, managing to see his son return from the corner.

"Dad?! Tikal?!?!?!" Michael ran inside to see if Tikal was alright, instead, he saw her on the floor bleeding from the mouth. Michael was panic-struck, but felt like he was gonna die when he didn't see Susan anywhere.

Michael looked everywhere for her, but unable to locate her.

"BILL, YOU FUCKING SON-OF-A-BITCH!!!!!!!!! GIVE ME BACK MY SUSAN!!!!!!!!!!!!" Michael ran out of the house, speeding off towards where Susan's scent was detected.

Michael sped off faster then he had ever ran before, becoming a blur in mere seconds.

"Im gonna find ya, Bill, and when I do, you're gonna regret betraying my friends, you're gonna regret laying your hands on my girlfriend...you're gonna feel my wrath when I find you, Bill!!!!!!" Michael said to himself, running with a purpose.

<Meanwhile, many hundreds of miles away>

"Finally, we are here my little pest...you are such a young one...yet I sense great power within you! If I'm not mistaken, this one seems to be just as strong as Michael himself...and she's only a young girl...this child's power could come in handy later on...heheheheheh..."
