Chapter 20

Michael realized the task at hand, and knew that he would not be able to raise a family like he had wanted to, but Tikal took it harder then the others in the room.

"NO!! Y-Y-YOU CAN'T GO!!!!!" Tikal burst forth, her tears pouring like Niagra.

"I wanted to raise Susan too, but I must do what has to be done...I'm sorry, Tikal...I really am..." Michael had a tear forming in his eye as well, but he wiped it away, doing his best to comfort the heartbroken Tikal, who was still clinging to his bright orange fur.

"I just got to know you, though! I-I...You are the first one to ever love me like you do! I wouldn't last another day without you!!" Tikal was desperately pleading, hoping that Michael wouldn't go.

"...Tikal...my fate has been predetermined...besides..." Michael stopped his sentence, then slowly giving Tikal a kiss on the lips. "...This isn't going to be goodbye...just a little "trip" of sorts! I promise that you won't be lonely...I promise you, Tikal..." Michael said, planting another kiss on Tikal's lips, doing his best to reassure her that he was going to be perfectly fine with his destiny.

"You know...fate throws its curveballs...but I never thought it would be like this.........................." Tikal said, slowly regaining her composure. "...this world will be a better place when Shadow is back!" Tikal suddenly proclaimed, surprising Michael and Kyle somewhat.

Tikal gave Michael a long kiss on the lips, Kyle saw the two of them and they looked so natural together. He knew it would be hard for the two of them to have to live separate lives.

Michael broke the kiss for a brief second, and then gave his pal, Kyle, a hug and a pat on the back, telling him it would be ok.

"Bring Shadow back...Please...bring him back, Mike!" Kyle said, hurring Michael to the door.

"Tikal...tell Susan that her dad will always love her..." Michael said before dashing out the door, leaving Tikal, Susan and Kyle behind to wait for the inevitable to happen.

<Meanwhile, far in the sky>

"He is going through with this, Shadow! I'm very surprised that he would actually do this!"

"He's doing it so that Tikal and Susan and all the inhabitants of this planet will live...hes not being selfish...he's doing what I only dreamt of doing for others...he truly is the One..." Shadow said, awaiting Michael's decision to revive him.

<Back in Eagle-Eye>

Michael stopped in the center of Eagle-Eye, staring at Bill.

Bill turned around, revealing his changed self: his fur was yellowish-gold, he had seven stones extending from various parts of his body, he also had two bucther-sharp sctyhes in place of his arms.

"So, you finally made it, boy..." Bill said, his voice had also changed.

"You won't get away with this, Bill! I'm gonna make sure that Shadow returns!!" Michael shouted, preparing to release his energy, but Bill dashed at Michael and kicked him in the gut.

"You won't be doing any reviving now you prick! I'm going to make sure that Shadow remains in the afterworld!" Bill was about to slice Michael's head off with his sctyhes but felt a foot nail him on the back.

"You leave him alone you bully!!"

Bill turned around to see Kyle, who looked very pissed, staring him down.

"You little pussy! How dare you interfere with my fight!" Bill was slicing everywhichway at Kyle, but Kyle was too quick for the blades to connect, givning Michael the opportunity he had been waiting for.

"For Tikal.........for Susan......for my dad........for my mother............for Sonie................for Kyle...............for every living thing on the planet............I am ready to receieve my destiny....................." Michael said, then turned his gaze to the sky, his eyes closed and tears streaming from his eyes. "......................................................SHADOW!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!" Michael shouted to the sky.

Suddenly, Michael fell limp to the ground, his energy had left him, and he was motionless on the ground.

Kyle and the others felt the sudden energy change and knew what had happened.

Bill was enraged and flung an orange sphere of electricity at Kyle, knocking him out cold.

Bill dashed over to Michael's body, but then saw what he had feared most.

"NO!!" Bill shouted.

He saw the faint forms of Tikal, Sonic and Amy next to Michael's body, all staring at Bill with hate in their eyes.

"You are going to suffer Shadow's wrath!" Tikal shouted.

"You will regret ever hearing Shadow's name!" Sonic said.

"My son's sacrifice will destroy you!" Amy proclaimed as Michael's body dissapered in the sky, as did the images of Sonic, Tikal and Amy.

Bill was scared stiff as he knew that Shadow was now revived.

"Shit...where is he...?" Bill said to himself, the fur on his back standing up from fear and shock.

Suddenly, a bright light temporarily blinded Bill, but only for a second or two, and Bill saw the form of a figure he didn't ever want to see again: Shadow.

The light around Shadow's body dissapered, his eyes opened, and he uttered three simple words to Bill:

"Time to die!"

Bill was scared out of his wits when Shadow said these words; Bill finally would fight Shadow and Shadow was going to defeat Bill, and he knew it too.
