Chapter 21

Shadow stared a hole deep into Bills soul, his eyes were filled with revenge and he knew exactly what he had to do.

"You may have killed many people and you may have caused Michael to sacrifice himself to bring me back, but you will not survive me!!!" Shadow yelled at Bill who was frozen stiff from fear.

Bill simply stared at Shadow, then his complexion quickly changed from that of fear to that of a very confident person.

"You know, even though you are stronger then me, Shadow, I have the power of the Chaos Emeralds! With that power, nothing, not even you will be able to stop me!!" Bill said.

Shadow also changed his expression, from confident to doubt.

"Even if you do defeat me, Shadow, there will be nothing left for you to go back to! Maria, Michael, this city...they are all dead!!!" Bill shouted, apparentely pissed at Shadow for showing himself.

Shadow couldn't take anymore of this and he charged at Bill, tackling him to the ground.

Shadow then hit Bill with a blue flame from his fist, causing Bill's face to get a blood mark.

"Damn prick!" Bill reciprocated and kicked Shadow off him, and kicked Shadow in the gut, knocking the wind out of Shadow for a brief moment.

Shadow knicked back up and used the Chaos Spear on Bill but it missed, and Shadow got leveled with a punch to the head.

"Stupid mothafucka!" Bill fired a barrage of energy blasts at Shadow, creating a crater the size of a skyscraper.

Bill stopped the barrage, thinking he had defeated Shadow, but he saw Shadow's form through the thinning smoke cloud infront of him.

"That all you got?" Shadow mocked Bill, dashing at Bill and connecting with a vicious uppercut to Bill's jaw.

Bill was sent reeling, but didn't have time to react as he was hit with anothger uppercut to the back this time. Bill used his flexible body to kick Shadow with the back of his foot.

"You anal probe!" Shadow cursed at Bill, firing a beam of fire at Bill, but it missed, and Bill took the opportunity to deliver a beam of orange energy at Shadow, causing Shadow to have convulsions: he was hit by an electric beam.

"Not so high and mighty now, huh?!" Bill mocked Shadow, kicking his gut, sending Shadow rolling back.

Shadow waited for Bill to kick him again, and caught Bill's kick, snaping the bone like a twig.

"Damnt! Ah...shit!!!" Bill writhed in pain as he felt the pain coursing through his body, making him groan loud enough to register on the Ricther Scale.

Shadow didn't waste any time, he attacked Bill with another Chaos Spear, nailing Bill on the left leg.

"Damn you, Shadow!! You bastard!!" Bill shouted at the top of his lungs, trying to drown out the pain he was in.

"Time to put this to an end!" Shadow said as he fired another Chaos Spear at Bill, this time it hit Bill right at his chest, puncturing it.

Bill gasped from the sudden pain he was in but managed to regain his composure, somehow, he managed to stand back up on his feet.

Suddenly, Shadow saw Bill grunting loudly incoherent words, but then, to his ultamite horror, Bill's chest wound disappered.

"No!!" Shadow yelled in shock.

"This isn't over yet, prick!" Bill felt a sudden energy flow and hit Shadow with a brutal kick to the jaw, dislocating it slightly.

Shadow was sent reeling back about ten yards, but got hit by another kick to the jaw.

"Fucking asshole!" Shadow grabbed Bill's leg and piledrived him into the ground with incredible force.

Shadow was breathing heavily, waiting to see what Bill would do next. Shadow didn't have to wait long as Bill charged at him, the quills on the back of his head perked up and Bill fired a beam of black energy at Shadow, who easily dodged it.

"Asshole!" Bill shouted as he dashed at Shadow, only to get an uppercut for his trouble.

"Cocksucking bastard!" Shadow continued to mock Bill, hitting him with progressivly stronger blows as Bill was getting the shit beat out of him.

Bill dashed at Shadow with his arms in a charging position, giving Shadow absolutely no chance at escaping the horrible fate about to get him.

Shadow saw Bill's claws extended, and he then saw them puncture his chest, that was the last Shadow saw of Bill conciously.

Shadow felt the oxygen slowly being cut off from his lungs as Bill dug deeper into Shadow's chest.

"M-M...Michael...............forgive.......me................... ... .............."

Shadow fell to both knees and Bill retracted his claws from Shadow's chest, blood seeping from the chest wound and of of Bill's gloves.

When Shadow fell to the earth, Tikal, Susan, Kyle, Sonic, Amy, Sonie and even Michael could sense a big energy change as they knew that there was only one explanation to the change in energy.

Kyle was afflicted most by the fact that Shadow fell, since it was his best friend, Michael, who gave his life so that Shadow would defeat that Bill.

"No...not...he can't be dead!!!" Kyle shouted as he dashed directly where Bill was.

Bill saw Kyle but he didn't see the blow coming. Bill saw Kyle running at him at incredible velocities, and the punch that connected to Bill's skull was even greater a fact.

"........"

Bill was speechless as he saw blood flowing from his head: a sign of a hairline fracture.

"You asshole! How dare you make me bleed!!!" Bill was enraged at Kyle, but Kyle didn't care; he was outraged that his buddy was gone and so was Shadow, leaving only him to defeat Bill.

Kyle knew, however, that he wouldn't be able to defeat Bill, as strong as he was.

"I may not stand a chance against you, but I'm gonna beat the living hell out of you while I'm at it!!!" Kyle shouted as he transformed into his superform, nailing punches and kicks to Bill's body, sending Bill reeling back some.

Bill regained his composure, however, and kicked Kyle about fifty yards away from him.

"Little prick! You dare assault me?!" Bill roared as he fired a black beam at Kyle, who barely dodged it.

Kyle knew that even in his superform he was no match for Bill, but he knew that he would go down fighting.

Kyle then did what Bill never thought he could: actually hurt him.

Kyle stood in a crouching position for a good ten seconds, leaving Bill to wonder what he was going to do next.

Next thing he knew, however, Kyle had skullbashed Bill's chest with his head, knocking Bill to the ground and reeling in severe pain as he felt his ribcage give way from the intensity of the blow.

"...You....prick!!" Bill was bleeding from th mouth as he layed on the ground, desperately trying to catch his breath.

Kyle, however, was out; his attack had severely damaged Bill, but he had knocked himself out as a result of the blow.

Bill was on the ground for a good ten minutes before he even tried to get up.

Bill felt his breath getting shorter and shorter as he felt his life slipping away.

"............................."

Bill lay motionless on the ground for about thirty minutes, making Tikal and Susan anxious to know what happened.

Tikal quickly went to the scene of the battle where she saw Bill laying motionless on the ground and Kyle was out cold.

Then Tikal saw the one person she didn't want to see dead.

"SHADOW!!!!!!!" Tikal cried when she saw that Shadow was dead, because Shadow had been given another chance because of Michael's sacrifice, and now Shadow was dead.

Tikal didn't have much time to weep, however, as the ground started to rumble violently.

Tikal held onto Susan as she saw the figure of Bill start to glow a bright yellow.

When Bill stopped glowing, he was on his feet, and he didn't look like Bill anymore: he was no longer a hedgehog, but a huge dragon, about thirty feet tall, with rows upon rows of sharp teeth.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" Tikal screamed in terror as she could not run because of fright at seeing the huge monstrosity infront of her. "The Chaos Emeralds...they've revived Bill!!!" Tikal realized as the dragon spotted her on the ground clutching a crying Susan in her arms.

Before the dragon could do anything, two mysterious figures appeared out of nowhere.

Tikal saw Sonic and Tails in their superforms beating the hell out of the dragon.

The dragon, however, had more coming to him as Shadow, with unknown vigor and strength, got back up and transformed into his superform.

However, even the three of them failed to defeat the dragon as they were all flung far away from the dragon with a swipe from its claws.

"NOOOOOO!!!" Tikal tried to run from the dragon, but the dragon landed right infront of her.

Tikal fell to the ground, burying Susan in her chest, trying to keep the dragon from harming her.

Tikal was kneeling on the ground as the dragon was about to eat her.

Tikal waited and waited for the teeth to pierce her skin but got long silence instead, then she felt herself and Susan being carried far away from the battle scene.

Tikal tried to see who her mystery savior was, but only saw the back of him and the shadow of him as he sped off towards the dragon again.

"Thank you...whoever you are..." Tikal said to herself as she carried Susan back into the house and locked the doors.

Meanwhile, Kyle, Shadow, Sonic and Tails were staring at the dragon, who had gotten itself back up from the ground after the assault from the mystery person.

Then, the four supercharged figures saw another one approaching their position.

"Whos that?" Tails asked Sonic, who had no clue.

They got their answer pretty quickly as the shadowed figure slowly revealed himself as the most unlikliest of people they thought they would see.

"MONIC?!!"

Monic stared at the four figures infront of him, and then back at the dragon.

"Sonic...Tails...Kyle.........Shadow..........I am very sorry for what I have done in the past, I truly am...after I found out what the dragon did to your son, and a very good one at that, I couldn't believe that that thing managed to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Monic looked completely different from when he was a machine and then a half hedgehog half machine; he was completely deroboticized, even the claws.

"I may have been bad in the past...I promise that this Monic is a good one...I will never hurt you guys again, ok?" Monic asked, meaning every word.

Sonic was very skeptical of letting this longtime villian just be forgiven, but Shadow sensed something about Monic that seemed believable.

"I trust him, Sonic!" Shadow said, giving Sonic no further claims for doubt.

Monci joined the fight to save the world, 5 against 1 with the climatic clash to save the world seemingly turned in their favor now.

sorry about the small font, I had to make the battle scene long and exciting...it aint over though...I promise that!!!
