Chapter 3 - Sonic Powers Up

 

Tails landed the new Tornado XXX in some bushes on Angel Island, activated the camouflage and jumped out. Sonic followed suit. Sonic: "Place hasn't changed a bit." Tails: "I'm not sure about that... my scanner says that emerald is somewhere... else now." Sonic: "Huh? But the island's in the air. How could it be somewhere else?" Tails: "Let's find out." So they went searching for the relocated Master Emerald. A quick eye by Sonic saw something weird in the ground: a square. Tails: "Wonder what this could be..." After a good minute, Tails opened the passage to the underground. Sonic: "Well, we know Knux ain't told us everything about this island yet." Tails: "Yeah." (I thought I found all of these passages by now...) They went in.

 

They didn't know what to make of it. A whole... city of echidnas, underground. Tails: "We better disappear." Sonic: "I'm with ya' bro." So Tails turned them invisible. Sonic: "...oh, that's what you meant. Good thinking, Tails." Tails: "I made it so that they won't see or hear us. Should make getting around here easier." They started exploring the city. Minutes later, they saw Knuckles flying away from a building sitting somewhere on some kind of hill. Sonic: "Hey, ol' Knux got something stashed in there. Let's take a look." Tails: "Right behind you." They burned off to the building's front door.

 

They could hear some noises from within, including some loud, muffled sounds, but something began to beep on Tails' scanner. Tails: "! Hey Sonic, don't know what's going on in there, but I think I've found the Master Emerald!" Sonic stopped trying to eavesdrop on the building and followed Tails deeper underground. Sure enough, the Master Emerald wasn't on that lone island outside, but right in front of their faces. Sonic: "Whoa, there it is. Wonder why Knux moved it here..." Tails: "Probably got tired of Eggman stealing it." Tails ran some programs on one of his on-hand gadgets to check the area for anyone. Tails: "Dumb ass echidnas... I'm mean come on. If they have this many echidnas around, SOMEONE should always be in front of this thing. Man... Alright, let's do this." Tails wasted no time attaching a device to the Master Emerald and to Sonic. A few input commands later, the emerald began to shine, and a cable linked to the attached device lit up.

 

Sonic: "So... WOW! What's going on with this thing!?" Tails: "The siphon is extracting energy from the Master Emerald and channeling it to that wristband. The wristband is designed to inject air fused with some of your blood cells and the emerald's energy into your bloodstream." Sonic: "Way past cool Tails!" Sonic could feel the immense power of the Master Emerald begin to flow through his veins. A light began to blink on the wristband. Tails: "Good..." Tails removed the device from the emerald. Tails: "OK, you've just received the highest amount of energy your body can tolerate. Now, right about..." Earthquake. Sonic: "Uh-oh..." Tails: "Man, faster than I expected... you must've taken in a lot of energy." Sonic: "What can I say? I always take it to the extreme!" Tails: "We need to exit. I doubt earthquakes like this will make this place safe any longer." Sonic and Tails started to burn off, right when rocks started falling down. That's when Tails notices that an echidna was knocked out. Tails: "What the..." It was a girl. Tails got an idea and wasted no time picking her up. Tails: "This chick is coming with us!" Sonic: "Goooood-d-d idea Tails. This place is coming down now. Time to jet!" Sonic screwed the caverns and made his own straight up to the surface. Tails looked at the light orange echidna chick in his left arm. Tails: "...she's really cute..." Tails went helicopter with his tails and followed Sonic back to the Tornado XXX.

 

Back at Tails' base, Amy and Mina were staring at the echidna girl Tails brought back in his arms, while Tails and Sonic discussed something. Sonic: "So I can get inside of people's heads now?" Tails: "Technically, yes. I have an idea on who to test it on." Sonic: "Who... wait. Sally!?" Tails: "AND Bunnie." Sonic: "No way..." Tails: "Hey, I did it. This won't even take long. Just have to get the conditions right first." Wow. Sally AND Bunnie, treating him like THAT. Sonic: "Conditions?" Tails: "Yeah. These ain't young chicks (relatively speaking) we're talking about. We've got to work some psychology on them first." Sonic: "...go on." Amy and Mina kept staring at the girl. Tails: "...are you two going to keep doing that?" Amy: "Well, she's..." Mina: "Pretty..." Sonic had one of those "..." bubbles coming out of his head... Tails: (Damn... where this come from? Knew they were freaks...) "Well, when she wakes up, make her comfortable or something." The girls happily agreed. Sonic and Tails left.

 

Sally: "Mmmm... these sundae slushes are the best!" It was Girls' Day Out for Sally, Bunnie and Hershey. They were sitting at a table in front of a sundae stand. Bunnie: "I know! I come here ev'ry day just about." Meanwhile, on the side of the building, Sonic and Tails watched the scene. Then Tails pulled out a small pill. Sonic: (Tails, what's that? Oh, wait... that's the drug.) Tails: (Yeah. Before you know it, Sally'll be ready to screw up something around here. Just watch this!) Tails then went invisible and crept up to the table by crawling. Tails: (Not exactly my way of doing things, but it'll get the job done.) Tails waited for an opportunity. Hershey: "Sally, does Sonic like these sundaes?" Sally: "Sonic? Please, if it doesn't have chili in it, he's passing it up." Bunnie: "Then he should try a Chili-sundae!" Sonic: (What the... they have those!?) Tails: (That was DAMN corny...) The girls started laughing. Tails: (Finally...) Tails popped the pill in Sally's slush, which disintegrated quietly. Tails: (Good, it's in. Now to figure out a good way for her to be bold...) Tails returned to Sonic. Sonic: "So?" Tails: "We're good. She'll be ready for anything in a few days." Sally took a few more sips and wondered how a little of the taste was slightly different than usual, but she discarded that thought. Tails: "...it's starting already..."
