Chapter Nine: The Dead City of Death and Dieing

[The camera cuts to Sonic, Tails, and Omochao, who are wandering near the entrance to Minas-Morgul. The city itself is basked in an eerie purple glow.]

Sonic: Well…this city seems kinda…

Tails: Fruity?

Omochao: Takes one to know one!

Sonic: Okay…

Omochao: This is the Dead City of Death and Dieing and Grim Never Ending Pain, Suffering, and Torment.

Sonic: It's seriously called that?

Omochao: Yes…and it's a very nasty place.

Tails: (sarcastic) I never would have guessed…

Sonic: (missing the sarcasm) Yeah. Sometimes retarded people have trouble figuring out the most obvious things.

Omochao: Come on…we have to cross to the other side of the path…

[Omochao crosses the path that comes from the city gates, followed quickly by Tails and Sonic. As Sonic crosses the path, he catches site of two stone figures at the entrance of the castle. Both seem to have the face of Amy. Sonic shivers, and goes to where Tails and Omochao are waiting. Omochao points upwards, towards a small narrow pathway that seems to go up the entire cliff face.]

Omochao: These are the stairs! We have to climb them!

[Sonic, Tails, and Omochao stare up at the massive stairs that crawl right up the cliff.]

Tails: Hey! I can just fly up!

Sonic: Like hell you will…

Tails: What do you mean? Of course I can fly.

Sonic: We're supposed to climb up the stairs.

Tails: Fine.

[Omochao starts to crawl up the stairs, followed by Sonic then Tails They move about three feet up the stairs.]

Sonic: WAIT! I don't feel comfortable climbing these stairs with Tails three inches behind my ass…

Tails: What? What on Middle-Earth is that supposed to mean?

Sonic: It means "Climb down". This time I'm going up last.

[Sonic and company crawl back down.]

Tails: Okay, now can we go?

[Sonic stares towards the city.]

Tails: Uhh…Sonic?

[Sonic starts to walk towards the city gate.]

Omochao: What the fuck are you doing? Get back here!

[Omochao and Tails rush up to Sonic and try to pull him back from the city. Suddenly, accompanied by dramatic music, a giant signal beam blasts into sky, turning everything a pinkish shade. The three are knocked back by the shockwave of the beam. Cut to Minas-Tirith.]

Luigi: (seeing the beacon) Oh-a shit.

Knuckles: (scared)

[Cut back to Minas-Morgul.]

Fell Beast: SCREEEEEECCCCCCCHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Sonic: Arrg! My ears!

Omochao: Oh crap…things keep getting better and better…

[Rising from Minas-Morgul is the Witch King Big, fully armored and flying on a Fell Beast that is struggling to stay aloft.]

Big: Come on! Come on you lazy lizard! Fly dammit!

Fell Beast: SCREEEEECCCCCHHHH!!! (English Translation: Damn fat ass...)

Big: FLY! Worthless garbage…Open the gates!

[The Fell Beast screeches again, and Sonic falls to the ground, twitching in pain. With a roar, the gates of Minas-Morgul open and thousands upon thousands of Orc warriors march out.]

Tails: I got a bad feeling about this…

Omochao: What gave it away? Was it the giant signal beacon of pure evil? Or was it the six hundred thousand strong army marching out? Or maybe it was the most powerful warrior ever flying out on a demonic beast from the very bowels of Hell itself?

Tails: Hey! I don't need to listen to your attitude!

[The camera cuts to Minas-Tirith.]

Luigi: So-a…the-a battle shall-a begin soon. The-a doom of-a our times shall-a soon be-a decided.

Knuckles: Cool!

Luigi: Are-a you stupid or-a what? I-a said "The-a doom of-a our times".

Knuckles: Oh. And that's supposed to be…bad?

Luigi: Yes. The end of-a all life on this-a planet is-a usually considered a bad event by-a rational beings.

Knuckles: Oh…I see…

[Cut back to Minas-Morgul. As the army keeps marching out of the city, the Witch King flies by Sonic, Tails, and Omochao, and then heads off towards the front of his army.]

Omochao: Now might be a good time to escape…

Sonic: Indeed.

[Now with Tails climbing in front of Sonic, the three begin to climb up the long steep stairway, even as the Orc army continues to move out. The camera switches back to Minas-Tirith.]

Luigi: The board is-a set. The-a pieces are-a moving.

Knuckles: Is that a chess analogy?

Luigi: Why-a yes, it-a is.

Knuckles: How about using an analogy I'd understand?

Luigi: Yeah…I-a forgot I-a was in the-a presence of-a such a feeble minded individual.

Knuckles: Hey! So…where's my freakin' analogy?

Luigi: (coughs) Err-hmm…the shit is-a about to-a hit the-a fan.

Knuckles: Better!
