Chapter 2: Shadow's FinalHazard Story

Events take place right after Shadow defeats Biolizard

I had used most of my energy to battle the prototype of the Ultimate Life, myself, the Biolizard. Afterwards, I ran up to the Eclipse Cannon's core, where Sonic and Knuckles had reached. Out of breath, I arrived as the Biolizard emitted guttural roars. I looked back and saw its form warp into a bright light. It instantly disappeared. I was disheveled. I managed to ask out loud, "Is that what Chaos Control is?!" The Master Emerald was already in place, but the ARK started to quake once more. Knuckles began to question, "If we've stopped the Chaos Emeralds, why is the space colony still on a crash course to Earth?" Dr. Robotnik replied from the main room,"The prototype is still alive! It's become one with the space station and is determined to keep it on its crash course." I had never reached the `Super' capabilities before, but when Sonic stared at me with those piercing green eyes, I knew exactly what I had to do. We both harnessed the full strengths of the Chaos Emeralds and underwent a transformation. The power - it was immense. We headed outside of the ARK to confront the monster; the same ugly prototype, this time missing a claw and connection cable. A giant weak spot was visible, a red boil or wart of sorts. Sonic and I alternated, attacking the giant bulge. Afterwards, the thing let out a shriek of pain and went limp, but not before glaring with its metallic eyes into mine. The battle had taken more energy than I expected, but our task was not yet done. I was straining to keep up with the Super form while we prepared the giant Chaos Control blast. But then I heard Maria's voice… "Shadow, I beg of you … give them a chance … to be happy." I couldn't let her down, yet before I recognized anything, a humongous light was bursting from my hand and the ARK was gone. I didn't have the power to move, I was so tired…I fell towards the Earth's atmosphere, flames surrounding me…as I died.
