As Sonic and Tails woke up the news was on. The top story was Shadow the Hedgehog Escapes. They were both still. No one could move.

Tails: `Please let this be a bad dream. He can't be out He'll be coming for me. What will I do?'

Sonic's Thoughts: `He'll be coming for Tails. I can't let him hurt Tails.'

Sonic hugged Tails and said, "I won't let anything happen to you. I love you." Tails didn't move. He stayed in Sonic's arms.

Later that day Sonic started thinking about Shadow. He knew Shadow was capable of anything. He would do anything to get to Tails. Sonic can't let that happen. Tails was in the bedroom. He had been in there for most of the day. He was afraid of what might happen. He has been in so much pain when he was raped. If Sonic hadn't been there he might not have lived.

Tails: "Sonic will help me."
