Chapter 3: Twin Vision 20/20

<Meanwhile, back in Motople>

"SONIC!!!!!!!!" A young voice shouted with glee as Sonikc soon found himself being tackled by an ecstatic Amy Rose. "Thank goodness you're ok!!"

"Hey, Amy. I'm ok, its alright now, everything's alright." Sonic said calmly to the exhubarent pink hedgehog infront of him. "The battle's done and so is Blade."

"But...I'm afraid a great price came with this voctory as well..." Shadow commented, getting Amy's attention immediately.

"Sonie, Tails and Knuckles all died..." Michael said remorsefully, a few tears falling down his face. That, however, was nothing compared to the tears Amy was shedding, for her 2nd son had been killed as well asn her two best friends.

<Meanwhile, at Angel Island>

Knuckles found himself next to the Master Emerald once again, his recalling of the battle was quite foggy, but he noticed that the hole in his chest had dissapered entirely. 'The Emerald...its reviving me...but, why?' Knuckles thought as the Master Emerald was glowing brighter then its guardien had ever seen before.

As Knuckles continued to ponder his predicament, a voice spoke from the Master Emerald itself, speaking only to Knuckles. 'Knuckles...Knuckles...It is I, the Master Emerald...for eons upon eons the Guardian of the Master Emerald has always been the most revered of all the guardiens of the ancient tribe of our forefathers of so many generations ago...you, Knuckles are the new guardien, and as guardian, you must be alive in order to preserve the Master Emerald, so if you die, the Emerald gives some of its own energy to revive the guardian of the jewel itself...for only the guardian can truly protect the sacred Emerald that stands before you...'

"Why are you only speaking to me, Emerald?" Knuckles questioned.

'Only the guardian of the Emerald can speak to it through spirit and mind...I come bearing not just news of your revival, but news of a greater threat looming over the hilltops and beyond the clouds in the sky...An organization has formed under its corporation name, Debass Extreme Advanced Technological Headquarters, or, "DEATH" for short. This corporation is composed of some of the most ruthless individuals known to this world and they will stop at nothing to destroy Michael, Sonic and Shadow: the three who they see as the biggest threat to their plans...Knuckles, you must warn them of DEATH's arrival so as no suprises will be unexpected!! Go, hurry! Time is of the esscene and you mustn't waste a minute!!!'

Knuckles suddenly felt the strange prescence leave him, and the Emerald simply glowed its usual glow, nothing more or less.

"Thank you...whoever you are..." Knuckles muttered as he flew off in the direction of Motople. As Knuckles drew furthur away from Angel Island he could see the image of Tikal in his mind; the one tribe girl he had always had eyes for...until Michael was found to be her true love...It hurt Knuckles deeply, but he knew that he must live on protecting the Master Emerald, for it was his destiny from the day he was born. 'I have no time to deal with relationships now...I must find my friends and tell them of what the Master Emerald has spoken to me...for the fate of the entire world...and the Master Emerald...depend on it!!" Knuckles said to himself as he flew off towards Motople.
