Chapter 4: Twin Vision 20/20

As Knuckles was heading for Sonics location to warn him of the threat ahead, the very threat itself was working to get the operation underway...

"Shingleman!! How much data have you collected for MX?" Eggman questioned. Eggman and the others had been collecting every scrap of information they could find, hoping that it might be fruitful in the later portion of the operation.

"One sec......alright...alright! External bidy outline is stable...organs and parts are all accounted for...<types some words on the computer screen>...I have the "OK" for operation on MX! Lets get this show on the road ladies!" Shingleman pronounced, a small chuckle escaped his lips afetr he finished his statement.

"Herring! Bring the DNA sample from Michael and put it in the main tube." Eggman said to Herring. Dr. Eggman had been waiting a long time for revenge on Sonic, but now, revenge seemed closer then it had ever been before. 'Heheh, that blasted hedgehog, Sonic, his son, Michael, and that traitor, Shadow, won't even know what hit them...' Eggman grinned as he watched the DNA sample for Michael was being poured into the external body casing they had constructed. "Hold on, Herring! Don't use all of it!" Eggman shouted at Herring, about 1/4 of the sample remained of the origional set from Michael. 'That was a close one...I can't let this go wrong now at this early stage of the operation! If we lose any cultures from any of those three hedgehogs, our entire operation we be in jeapordy...' Eggman commented to himself as the DNA sample went into the casing, filling it up to the desired level.

"Dr, the sample has successfully been routed to the external casing! Proceed with step 2?" Herring asked.

"Initiate step 2!" Eggman barked out, watching in delight as their plan was going well...so far. Eggman still wanted to make sure that nothing would be left to chance; for he had seen so many times when Sonic or one of his close associates would find the smallest weakness and exploit it masterfully. 'This time, he isn't going to ruin my plan for revenge!'

Shingleman went back to the computer screen to check the status of all the tubes and the many other various parts of the experiment.

"Tube integrity at 100%.......External casing holding at maximum........body completion at 36%...two minutes 'till complete!" Shingleman called out to the other two scientists with him, grinning evilly as he knew revenge was as close as he had ever seen it before. 'That Michael...he is going to pay dearly for foiling my plans the last time...but, I am very glad that Eagle-Eye was destroyed by that Blade fella, I wouldn't mind having him on my team...but the job isn't finished until Michael is eradicated!' Shingleman mentally screamed to himself as the timer displayed one minute until MX's external body was completed.

Herring watched intently as the DNA began to take the shape of Michael himself. "Its working!" Herring jumped with glee as the body was 80% complete. 'Finally, I can proove to my mentor, the great Dr. Robotnick, that I am a great grandson!! And Sonic will never get out of this one!!!' Herring laughed to himself after he finished his statement.

After 10 more seconds, the casing was full, the DNA was no longer liquid: it was now molded in the exact shape of Michael. Eggman grinned as he proceeded to phase two of the operation: bringing the shell to life.

"We've done an excellent job so far, but its only going to get harder from here on out...we must be vrey careful so as not to mess up this body: for we may only get one chance at this..." Eggman stated to the others, getting their nods of approval as they initiated phase two of their operation
