Chapter 6: The "MX" Factor
while Knuckles was laying down what the Master Emerald had told him, the very threat he was warning Sonic and the others about was now fully functional in the scientists labratory. Knuckles and Sonic figured that this would be like all other threats they had faced before, but this threat would change the face of their world...forever...
The sun began to set in Motople City, and the scene itself was that of a heavenly bliss raining down on the earth. This only hid the true reality that was making its way to the fears in hearts and mindsof many people.
Sonic, that sure is beautiful, isn't it?" Amy said with a sigh, latching her arm around Sonic's waist. Sonic could only nod and grin his usual grin as he stared back at the horizon, captivated by the beauty of the sunsetting.
know, Amy, this setting sun kinda reminds me of us finally getting together." Sonic finally spoke, Amy's eyes filled with curiosity as the blue wonder, who so many times broke her heart in the past now filled it with nothing but love. "The red and orange and yellow colors mingled together, it kinda reminds me of our love: bright and beautiful with plenty of passionate flair." Sonic notioned with a small wink of his eye.
the colors...they remind me of how much I wanted you to love me back then, but it was all worth it!" Amy said with a happy squeal as she kissed Sonic on the face, giggling cheerfully as Sonic blushed where she kissed him.
glad I chose to accept your love and persistence, even though it got on my nerves sometimes, but no matter what, I always wanted to make sure you were happy...I don't think I could've done anything more then what I've done for you now." Sonic said softly in her ear as he returned the kiss she gave him, but planted it on her pinkish lips, the two engulfed by the sun's setting rays made the two look perfect.
four pairs of eyes watching the two lovebirds with smiles on their faces as well. Michael and Tikal had finally been reunited after many long months of abscence due to Blade's suprise attack at them. The two had had some "quality" time together and had a young teenager in Susan at their hotel, who was now 13 years of age.
other hedgehogs were watching the pink sensation and the blue blur as well. Shadow and Gina, who had met only about a year and a half ago, since their encounter in Eagle-Eye, now destroyed and a burnt heap of rubble, had a child of their own in Flash, now 8 months of age and turning into quite the young hedgehog.
really are great together, aren't they, Shadow?" Gina asked Shadow, her emerald eyes piercing into the crimson eyes of Shadow, unaware that two other emerald eyes were watching them as well. "Well, Gina, I'd say that Sonic and Amy make quite the couple." Shadow commented cheerfully, after Blade's battle, he was ready for some relaxation and recuperation for his body to heal itself.
tapped Michael on the shoulder with a small smile on her face, her cheeks flustered red and blushing wildly; the two were perhaps the perfect example of a couple in their eyes. "Well, your dad definetely delivered, Michael." Tikal said slyly, kissing Michael lightly on the cheek. "Well, Tikal, I never would've met you if I hadn't gotten that phone call..." Michael commented as Knuckles watched over them, his eyes gazing and scanning the horizon for any possible disturbances.

Despite his mission as the Emerald's Guardien, he still had thoughts of what might have been...When Julie-Su dissed him before Monic killed him, he had been very depressed and indecisive. When Monic appeared to him, his fighting skills had been lacking somewhat. 'That bastard...its a good thing the Master Emerald revived me, otherwise there would be noone to guard it...' Knuckles tried to convince himself, his mind still wandering to the orange echidna whom he had feelings for before his untimely "death" 'Its not my business to mingle with relationships; my duty is to protect the Master Emerald, and even though I may not like its downsides, I have to face them head-on, because the world depends on it!' Knuckles said to himself as nighttime fell upon Motople.
leaped off his perch on a roof and landed easily on his feet. As he walked off, two emerald eyes were glaring at him and, in particular, Michael. Its form was cloaked in shadows, but minute mechanical sounds could be heard near its brain. Suddenly, its form became visible, orange quills and shoes that were exactly like Michael's were able to be seen, its eyes resembled a normal being, but its eyes suddenly glowed brightly, illuminating in the darkness as Michael and the others headed off for their hotel.
MX watched as the six figures innocently made their way back, the easy prey: a pink hedgehog girl with a red skirt. The MX merely grinned as it used its acquired speed from Michael's DNA to sneak up behind Amy, unnoticed by the others.
had been by Sonic's side the entire time, but a feeling inside her told her that something was array with the scene they were in. 'It feels like a winters chill! Whatever it is, it can't be normal...' Amy said to herself as she turned her head around to look behind her, but found nothing. Convinced that it was just her, she turned back around to be by Sonic's side, but when she did, she felt a hand grip her by the waist. She turned around to see Michael glaring at her, its glowing eyes burning brightly like a beacon in the night sky. "Michael! What the hell are you doing?!" Amy roared, getting no response from the MX. Amy, however, had no idea that this was not her son until she saw the true Michael staring wide-eyed at the imposter, his jaw dropped in disbelief that he was seeing himself...or he was seeing his double...whatever the reason, the MX had gotten the attention of everyone, and with a death threat, it said to the five figures with Amy wrapped over its shoulders, "This is a message from DEATH: Revenge is finally ours!" The MX roared as it used its speed to blast off towards the West.
Thats where I just came from!" Knuckles said in disbelief as Michael had already taken off the second the MX had dashed off.
Come back here you bastard!!! Give me back my mom!!!!!!!!" Michael's voice could be heard in the distance, the anger for his mom being captured was simply too much for the young hedgehog boy to bear.
What are we gonna do?!" Shadow asked, panicked about the predicament.
gotta get her back!!" Sonic shouted, dashing off where the MX and Michael had gone to, tears streaming down his face as he had no idea what might happen to Amy.
