CHAPTER TWELVE

It was only a few short hours before dawn, every headed back to the village, not exactly to celebrate their ultimate victory, but to hold a small service for the supposed death of Sarasim. All seven of the titans were there too, and holding up their act very well indeed…

Of course, Sarasim wasn't really dead. She was taken to the cavern and told to wait there until the others arrived, but nevertheless. The service was peaceful, and furthermore, the titans were each presented with special honors for helping the warriors. They were all presented with special medals for their bravery and swiftness.

It was very nice gesture, but the titans had more bad news…

“You are leaving?” asked Nicolo.

Robin nodded, and explained that it was time for them to move on and seek out other places and people who needed their help. It was all he could tell them. As much as the villagers wished to protest, they respected the titans' decision.

They all bid their farewells, and knew fully well that the village would carry on in peace. Nicolo hated to see Beast Boy go, and so did Amano. “Hey… no sweat. You guys are gonna have great lives, I know it.” he told them.

The siblings smiled at their friend, and Terra was glad this was happening because it meant that Beast Boy would get out of that silly marriage the village kept going on about.

The titans left the village, and flew up to the caverns were Sarasim was waiting for them. She wished she could've been there to bid farewell to all her people, but she knew she couldn't. She was believed to be dead, and had to let her people think she was dead, but she did stop to take one last look at her village below… because it really was going to be for the last time.

Cyborg checked his timer, they had only ten minutes left, and Raven could already feel the time portal was starting to weaken. “We've got to go now.” she warned everyone.

Sarasim closed her eyes tightly as a single tear leaked down her cheek. Cyborg held her close in his arms. “It's time.” he whispered to her. Sarasim agreed and she walked without looking back.

All eight of the friend held hands, and Robin gave Raven the sign. Raven nodded and concentrated hard, “Azarath… Metrione… ZINTHOS!” and they were gone, vanished into the portal.

They reappeared in the alley from whence they entered, and no sooner did the wall act funny and flash bright. Terra felt along the wall. “It's gone…” The portal had sealed. There was no going back now.

Sarasim took in a deep brave breath. “You okay…?” asked Cyborg. She was. It was time for a new beginning.

In less than a week, arrangements were made. Sarasim was bought new clothes, and enrolled in a special school in England where she would be reeducated and adjusted to living in her new time. It would be some time before she would see Cyborg or the titans again because… five-thousand years of catching up could take a long time to learn.

She and Cyborg were now also spiritually married. Since Sarasim's customs were old and out of date. So they weren't actually legally married but they still felt like it, and it meant that Cyborg could still be a ladies man and go on innocent dates with other girls until Sarasim returned, so he wouldn't feel lonely.

Sarasim would be sent off to England the next day, but she did have one last night in town to attend the opera house for this very special night. It was Beast Boy and Terra's very first wedding anniversary, and Beast-Boy's gift to Terra was a special song that required classical musicians as well as rock experts, and he was going to share it with the whole world.

..how can one prove his love better than that?

Sarasim was dressed in a formal gown, and she looked just ravishing. Cyborg couldn't take his eyes off of her. Sarasim was most intrigued by all these new sights and feelings. She couldn't wait to learn more…

The stage was set up wonderfully…

The musicians were already tuning up their classical instruments, the rock-stars that were hired were tuning their things, and there was a large black piano with a microphone attached to it.

The final bit was a large sheet of white above the stage to show some old footages of Beast Boy and Terra's past. Finally, the conductor who resembled Mumbo came out, and so did Beast-Boy. Instead of formalwear, Beast Boy was wearing a simple white T-shit with a black blazer over it and blue jeans. He also wore thick dark shades.

The crowds cheered and applauded for joy, and Beast-Boy bowed to everyone. Then he took his seat by the piano and had announcement to make. Not only about himself and Terra and all that they went through to be where they were today, “But I'd also like to dedicate this song to all the couples out there, and especially to my friend Cyborg and his new lady love.”

Sarasim and Cyborg felt a little shy when the crowds applauded for them. Finally Beast Boy reminded everyone, “But most importantly… “ he gazed up, up, up and his eyes met Terra, “…This for you, love.”

The crowd awed, an then the conductor signaled for everyone to begin, as a heavy rain began to fall outside… just what Beast-Boy was hoping for he started to play the piano. He was joined in by the strings as the movie shots began to show on the screen…

Soon, practically all the musicians began to play in, and Beast Boy began to sing but his eyes never left Terra.

(Beast Boy)
(Sounds like Axel Rose)

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same
Yea-ea-ea-eah…
but nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain
We've been through this
Such a long
, long time
J
ust tryin' to kill the pain
Oh, Yea-ea-ea-eah…
But lovers always come
And lovers always g
o
And no one's really sure
Who
se lettin' go today
Walking away
If we could take the time
To lay it on the line
I could rest my head
Just knowin' that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me
Then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'
In the cold November rain

Do you need some time
On your own
Do you need some time
All alone
Oohh…
Everybody needs some time
On their own
Oohh…
Don't you know you need some time
All alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Ohh…ohh…oohh-oohh…

(Guitar solo)

As the guitar solo played, everyone cheered for joy, and gazed at the movies showing. There were many of Beast Boy and Terra's past experiences, but there lots of Things Change … the deadliest of them all…

But the best footages shown, were hose Beats Boy and Terra rekindled, and were married.

Sometimes I need some time
On my own
Sometimes I need some time
All alone
Oohh…
Everybody needs some time
On their own
Oohh…
Don't you know you need some time
All alone

(Another guitar solo)

Now here they were, one year later, and their love was as strong as ever. Terra's eyes were glinting with tears as she held her hand to her heart. It was beating so hard and so filled with love, she thought it would burst, but still… her eyes never left her husband's.

Nor did his leave hers

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain
Oh, yeah…
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain

As the last of the music played out, Terra grabbed a stone from her pocket and held on to it as she floated down to the stage and tackled her husband to the ground and kissed him with such a deep love that it made the crowds cheer the loudest all evening.

Strangely, Beast Boy and Terra just stayed there, even long after most of the crowd and the musicians had gone home. They were just too enraptured to break apart. They did for a breath of air and wished each other happy anniversary, and then just went back at it.

“Heh, heh… lovebirds.” Cyborg sighed. “Ya know… I can't think of a happier ending.”

THE END

Authoru's notes:

Now you should go to Youtube and look up “Beast Boy's Magic Voices 23” it's a great one I made for that song.

Also… I think I should mention this… the classical musicians are the same ones form the lost ep
