Chapter 8-Capture and Sacrifice.
Blackfire threw Starfire back into the cell. “Enjoy you’re stay while it lasts little sister. As soon as Slade finishes Robin, I have full leave to finish you.” Laughed Blackfire.
“Why are you doing this sister? Why would you let Slade do something so evil to us?” Asked Starfire.
Blackfire grew angry and slapped Starfire as hard as she could. “How dare you even ask that question! Because of you, I lost my throne and my home all in one day! You banished me from Tameran, you gave me no choice but to work for Slade!” Yelled Blackfire.
“But looking back on the past 2 years, maybe you did me a favour. I’ve never been happier in my entire life, not even when I was the Empress of Tameran. But that didn’t stop me from wanting revenge. And soon, after Robin is dead, I will have it by killing you and putting you out of my misery…once and for all.”
“You’ll never win Blackfire. Robin has defeated Slade before…And he will do it again!” Shouted Starfire.
“No. The Titans together defeated Slade…Robin has yet to do that on his own. Should make for quite an interesting show.”
Blackfire left the room, leaving Starfire to wonder if her sister could be right.
~~~The Titan Submarine.~~~
“I’ve done a preliminary sweep of the base. All three main entrances have been put under heavy guard, but the supply entrance has been left alone.” Said Speedy.
“Alright, everyone know what they’re doing?” Asked Robin.
“Me, Aqualad and Beast Boy are going in the front underwater entrance. We’ll pull away some of the guards in that sector.” Said Raven.
“Speedy and I are taking the air entrance and defence. We’ll take out the weapons so Cy and Jinx have a clear path in.” Said Bumblebee.
“Jinx and I are going to take the front door on land. Slade is located in the centre of the tower and the quickest way to get there is threw that door. We’ll distract the guards long enough for you to get through the supply entrance un-noticed.” Said Cyborg.
“Alright guys. With you all doing that, the guards and Slade’s apprentices will be too busy to notice me at all. We only get one chance at this everyone. We can’t let Star down, we end this today, once and for all! TITANS…GO!” Shouted Robin.
At once, the Titan Sub separated. Bumblebee and Speedy shot upwards towards the roof of the base. Raven, Beast Boy and Aqualad shot through the underwater entrance. Cyborg and Jinx went ahead of Robin to begin their attack on the front of the base. But Robin was ready at the 2nd underwater entrance, ready in wait for Cyborg’s signal, and his chance to go after Red X and Slade.
~~~Slade’s Control Room/Throne Room.~~~
Kitten, who was monitoring the video-surveillance cameras, almost fainted when she saw the Titans all over the screens. “Master Slade!” She yelled.
“What is it Kitten, I am busy.” Said Slade.
“The Titans sir, they’re here!”
“What do we do my master?” Asked Fang.
“What else, give them a proper greeting. Blackfire.” Said Slade.
“Alright everyone, release the robot guards at all the entrances. Secure the Titans in their own positions. Robin can watch his friends die for dragging them into this foolishness.” Ordered Blackfire.
“Yes Ma’am.” They all shouted.
“Gizmo, Mammoth. Go greet Jinx and Cyborg.”
“Alright!” Shouted Gizmo excitedly.
“Revenge time!” Yelled Mammoth.
“Kitten, release Plasma! Have him go retrieve Beast Boy, Raven and Aqualad! Then, you and Fang go after Bumblebee and Speedy!” Ordered Blackfire.
“Yes Ma’am!” Said Kitten as she entered the command to release Plasma.
“And what are you going to do Blackfire?” Asked Slade.
“I’m going to wait at the supply entrance, that’s where Robin is probably waiting to sneak in. I‘ll bring him here then he can watch as they die. I think a high voltage shock from the electrified nets should do them in. Painful and slow, just the way I like it.” Said Blackfire cockily.
“Good girl. Red X, you will remain here with me.” Said Slade as Blackfire ran off.
“Why?” Asked Red X.
“It’s us Robin wants, it’s better if we wait for him to come to us.”
~~~The air entrance.~~~
Bumblebee fired at the lasers with her B-Beam. Speedy jumped from his air craft and fired his exploding arrows at the weapons control tower, destroying it and causing the technicians to scatter. He landed on the roof, and began firing at the drones that were after Bumblebee. Soon, all that was left of the air defences were just falling debris. Bumblebee landed next to Speedy. “Is it just me, or was that too easy?” Asked Bumblebee, putting her weapons away.
“It was. Either they were just toying with us. Or they were just really weak.” Said Speedy.
He then looked below them to check out the action on the ground. “C’mon, we better go help them.” Said Speedy.
But before they could go, something landed over them. It was a net. Speedy spun around and saw Kitten and Fang. “Sorry, you’re not going anyway.” Said Kitten as she flipped the switch on her control.
It turned on the electrified net and shocked Speedy and Bumblebee. When they were unconscious, Kitten turned off the net and Fang walked over to pick them up. “What should we do with them?” Asked Fang.
“Hang over the side. It’ll be a while before they wake up…and we wouldn’t want them interrupting if Robin meets up with Slade.” Said Kitten.
~~~The land entrance.~~~
Cyborg blasted through a load of Slade’s robots while Jinx lifted some with her magic and crashed them into the nearest wall. As they destroyed the robots, they moved closer towards the entrance door. “C’mon Jinx, we’re almost there!” Shouted Cyborg.
“Then lets end this…NOW!” Shouted Jinx.
She aimed her powers at the ground with all the robots on it and lifted it towards the sky. Then she threw it into the water. “I hope those things aren’t waterproof, or I may have cause Raven and the others a problem.” Panted Jinx, out of breath because she used so much power.
“That’s not the only thing you need to worry about, traitor!”
They looked towards the voice. Gizmo and Mammoth stood there. “Ready to be pummelled.” Said Mammoth, charging at Jinx.
But she easily evaded him and Mammoth ran into a big fist from Cyborg, which knocked him right down. Jinx fired a blast at Gizmo, who missed her but then was hit by sonic blast by Cyborg. Gizmo had quickly run out of patience. He aimed his laser gun at Cyborg. Jinx saw him as he prepared to fire at Cyborg. “Eat this you metal booger trash!” He yelled.
“NO!” Jinx screamed.
She acted completely on instinct. She raced over and push Cyborg out of the way, taking the shot herself. Cyborg fell to the ground. He then saw Jinx’s singed body. “Jinx…No.” Started Cyborg.
But he never got a chance to even crawl to her, as Gizmo came up behind him and put a system disrupter on his back. He was instantly shut down. “C’mon, let’s give Slade our progress report. I’m sure he’ll be happy to hear that we’ve killed the traitor and the Titan’s robot.” Said Gizmo.
He and Mammoth laughed as they left Jinx and Cyborg where they were.
