The Wallflower Fan Fiction ❯ Like a Moth to a Flame ❯ Reactions and Actions ( Chapter 12 )

AN-I will continue this best I can. I have received word that I'm moving overseas, and I really should be preparing for that instead of playing doctor with Kyohei.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Wallflower (AKA Perfect Girl Evolution and Yamatonadeshiko shichihenge).
“Phew! They're gone. I'm glad they are. They were getting a bit oppressive for my tastes. I know they're nosy, but that was ridiculous!” Kyohei sputtered.
“I suppose I should explain what's happened right?” Sunako began. Kyohei looked at her and nodded.
“If you're ready. It's been hard on you I'm sure. If it's not bad enough you are worried about me, you have been pulled into my drama and the guys are nosy.”
“Well, you summed it up pretty good by yourself. Maybe I don't have to tell you anything then.” She said smiling. “About my staying...What did they tell you about it?”
“They were rather mysterious about it. I guessed it was you but the guys didn't think you were hurt that bad. To be honest. I didn't think you were either. You can get that injured from being pushed down? “
“I suppose so. I was surprised myself, the thing is with this diagnosis, the charges to the assailants is heavier, closer to par with you. I could die from this injury. Speaking of which, the doctor wanted to let you and the others know about a potentially nasty side effect of the medication.”
“Nosebleeds, bad ones, right? They told me. You know...I am also being watched for the same injury. I never knew how serious it was.” Then the room went silent.
Sunako quietly said,“Why aren't we talking about what was going on before I left? Any regrets about that? I take it the guys didn't figure it out, or if they did, they're biding their time.”
He took a deep breath,“What can be said right now? Nothing can be done about it right now anyway. You are restricted to bed rest and I'm not walking around anytime soon. There's only one thing I regret about our discussion earlier.”
“What's that?”
“You did not get a chance to test your theory about your nosebleeds. Don't you think it would have been good to know before putting yourself in mortal danger? I kinda sorta wanted that experiment performed. Shame on Officer Fuuma! Though now when THAT particular test is done, I will most likely enjoy it a lot more! I may even be able to reciprocate, if you want.”
“Ok...Mori-san, oh. I'm sorry, you're Kyohei. I thought you were channeling Ranmaru for a moment there. Don't do it, it's not becoming. Yeah, it would have been nice, but could you imagine if it was the guys instead of the officer? I was a bit reckless there. To be honest, I've been watching you and I haven't had any tickling at all, like a nosebleed brewing. Say? How's the food here? I'm hungry, and I know how you like your food.”
“The food sucks, but at least it's food. That's right, you were downstairs and did not get anything to eat. Call the nurse, I'm sure she can get a tray for you. I'm sure you can have something better than what I got. All I got was bland stuff like miso with tofu. There's nothing wrong with you as far as being cut open. I've had 2 surgeries in 2 days, that's their excuse for feeding me this crap.”
“True enough, I'll call her” When the nurse came in, she went ahead and ordered a tray for her. When it arrived, Sunako had a hard time enjoying it because Kyohei was complaining the whole time. Even though she told him over and over it wasn't very good, he refused to believe her. They had some good hearted bickering over it. After she ate, they watched some TV and decided that sleep was a good thing for both of them. They knew they would have to deal with the gang in the morning.
Meanwhile, the guys were returning to the house. After they left the hospital, they had gotten into a heated discussion about why Sunako was such a crab. The conclusion was that she had very little sleep the last few days, and what she little sleep she did get was very poor. The fact she was attacked by the mob and then had to be assigned to Kyohei's room probably did not make her too happy either.
“I still think that those two are not all that all upset about sharing a room” Ranmaru insisted. “ I have a feeling about those two. I think these injuries will cause them to be a lot more honest with each other.”
“No” Takenaga countered. “As much as I'd like to see it, Kyohei has very little in the way of emotional tenderness that would be needed to pursue a relationship. Even if Sunako was willing, he's in no position to be trusting with women right now.”
“Excuse me!” Yuki butted in, “You are a fine one to talk about that 'Mr. Emotional Constipation'. Noi-chan isn't paying as much attention to you because you have been distant with her. You don't consider feelings at all. I think Sunako is simply a mess right now. She's under a lot of stress, not sleeping and is now hurt. The people who did it are the same ones that hurt Kyohei, and we don't know why. She has to share a room for security sake now. I'm sure she cares for Kyohei, I'm not sure of the level though. They are so much alike that you really never know what's going on with them. I do agree that Kyohei isn't going to be interested for a while because of what happened to him.”
“That part I can agree on.” Ranmaru quickly added, “His plumbing is damaged. You can't court a lady with faulty parts.”The other two just groaned and rolled their eyes. Ranmaru is Ranmaru, always thinking with his little head.
When they returned home, the maids had a nice meal planned for them and they enjoyed their fill. The house was spotless, and all the 'Get Well' presents were sorted. All the flowers were in one place, cards in another, chocolates were going to be set aside for Sunako, and scary things like hair and fingernail clippings were put in a far corner.
They had the unenviable task to tell Auntie what happened. When they called, Auntie has shocked and somewhat happy. Sure, she was upset that Sunako was hurt, but she was certain it was because the girls saw something as a threat to them in Sunako. Her rationale was she must have said or did something that showed that she was involved with him somehow. Even if Sunako doesn't act like it most of the time. She thought it interesting that they were sharing a room. The reasons made sense, but she thought it could be great for their relationship.
One of her regrets was that Kyohei seemed to be a gentleman as much as Sunako was a lady. They were both SO uncouth. How could she be a true lady when this guy lets her indulge in her dark fantasty world? She knew that they tried to hide Sunako's dark tendencies, but she wasn't completely stupid. She had people watching the house and they told her how everyone in town called her the 'scary girl'. There was one time that she listened to the guys and played along with the fantasy thing. That ended badly. Kyohei became a 'Prince Charming' to rescue a 'Princess Sunako', that was good on the surface, but nothing changed afterwards. She even tried to make Kyohei a gentleman when she saw that Sunako leaned his way. Her most insidious plot, turning him into something akin to a 'Love Slave', failed when the dominatrix fell to his charms. When it was all said and done, the dominatrix said that Kyohei was perfect as is. So, maybe it's not so bad for them to spend so much time together. She ordered the maids to keep an ear on the conversations the guys had about the situation. What a man may see and hear isn't always what's going on, and a woman may have better intuition in this matter.
After dinner, they guys settled in for some TV. It was comedy night and they needed a good laugh tonight after the last few days. After about an hour, the maids came in to see if there were anything they could do for them.
“Excuse us young masters, will you be needing anything further this evening? Hanako is an accomplished masseuse , and I know you have been tense with your friends in the hospital. Would you like massages?”
Takenaga spoke up first. “I would. However, can we do this in a common area? I would like to avoid the appearance of impropriety.”
So Hanako set up an area in the living room, lit candles and asked Takenaga to go to his room to disrobe to put on his yukata, and return. When he arrived in the room, the other two guys had returned to their rooms and left Hanako and Misaki in the living room. As he laid on the table they had prepared, they started asking questions about what was going on at the hospital along with the massage. After a few minutes, he grew tired of the questions and asked point blank if Auntie had put them up to it. They could not deny it. Takenaga gathered himself up and went to Ranmaru's room. They discussed what had happened with the maids, and then brought Yuki in.
“I think Auntie has gone too far” said Takenaga. “Those maids/assistants are really not much more than spies for her. I don't think we can trust them, even if the service is excellent.”
“Can't we keep them until Sunako comes back?” The other two whined. “We can't cook or clean very well, and they do a great job.”
“I suppose we can, but we have to be careful what we say to them, because they are Auntie's eyes and ears on this situation. Ranmaru...I suggest that you DO NOT have a massage or anything else with them. They are obviously here to tempt us, so don't give in. If you really need companionship, seek it elsewhere. These two are trouble. Let's go downstairs and leave orders for the morning.
I think we'll aim to be at the hospital about 8am or so. No rush to get there early tomorrow. Maybe that bug that crawled up Sunako's butt is out, and she'll be a tad nicer in the morning. I somewhat doubt it, because she's still stuck with Kyohei, but you never know.”
